Chapters Twilight stood before me, shifting from hoof to hoof nervously. She just got to the castle in response to my summons. She's so cute when she's anxious. She bits her lower lip and swishes her beautiful tail; a sight I can never get over. How I wish I could do something about my feelings for the heavenly crea—
"Princess, is something the matter. Your letter said you had important news for me." Twilight's voice brought me out of my reveries.
"Yes, Twilight. A few days ago, you wrote that friendship report on supporting your friends through tragedy." I pulled out the corresponding report.After reading it, I realized that there is nothing more I can teach you. My faithful student, I present to you this certificate." I floated a large scroll out from behind my throne, along with a framed certificate. I unrolled the scroll and started reading.
"I, Princess Celestia, Guardian of the Day and Elder Diarch of Equestia, do present Twilight Sparkle with this certificate, in recognition of graduating from Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns with a Doctorate in Friendship. In addition, I bestow upon you the title of Archmage. Upon acceptance of this title, you will be given two positions, Head of Academic Instruction and Champion of the Three Tribes."
I took a breath and looked at Twilight. She was collapsed on the floor, looking at me in adoration. "I can't belive there is another ten thousand words in this speach. Are they trying to bore us to death?" I laughed and put down the scroll. Twilight is absolutely adorable, laying like that.
"Oh, Princess. I've always dreamed of this moment." Twilight pulled herself up and walked over to me. "Head of Academic Instruction, I can plan the curriculums, even teach them. I can do for other foals what you did for me."
I met Twilight at the bottom of the steps and hugged her. "I'm sure you will be a fine teacher. I'm so proud of you."
Twilight pulled out of my embrace, blushing. "I did learn from the best."
I laughed again. "I guess I was a pretty good good teacher. But now on to slightly more serious things. Now that you are no longer my student, we can do much more together. Twilight, will you be my—"
Twilight jumped forwards and kissed me. "Yes! I will be your marefriend! I knew you loved me too."
I stared in shock at the ecstatic mare before me. "—escort to the Griffin Empire." I took a death breath, my calm demeanor restored. As much as I wished to return her love, I cannot. If we were to start a relationship, it would stunt her progress in the world. She would never know the wonders of motherhood, of seeing her children grow up and have children of their own. She would watch her friends move on. She would stand by my side, aging as I remained unchanged. She would live in constant danger from my enemies. And after she died, I would eventually forget her. I won't let my love go through such a lonely life. I braced myself, I knew I was about to crush her heart. "Twilight, I love you as a friend, nothing more."
Twilight's rear legs gave out. She stared at me ears flattened and tears in her eyes. "But you've always been so affectionate, hugging me and inviting me to the castle."
I nearly gave in as tears started steaming down her face. I had to stay strong, I had to protect her. "That's because I think of you as my daughter. You almost never saw your family while under my tutelage, so I took over that responsibility."
Twilight took a step towards me. "Can't you try to love me as more than a friend? Please, give me a chance!"
I turned away from her, trying to contain tears. "I cannot, Twilight. Please do not make this harder for us. The last thing I want is to limit our contact."
Twilight jumped up and hugged again. "Please don't send me away!"
"I promise, I will not send you away if, if you make an active effort to find someone else to love." I pushed her away. "For now, we both need time to think. Come see me this evening, there are still things we must plan out."
Twilight turned away from me and started walking towards the doors. She stopped a few paces away. "I really have no chance?"
"None." I hear the doors open and close gently. I collapse onto the floor, sobbing. "Oh Twilight, my love, how I wish we could be together. I could have made you so happy. Instead, I've shattered your heart." I got up and walked to my room. I locked the door and sat at my desk. I notice one of my papers has fallen to the ground; I pick it up. It's one of Fluttershy's friendship reports.
My experiences with the Breezies have helped me to see that kindness can take many forms. And, sometimes, being too kind can actually keep a friend from doing what they need to do. Pushing them away may seem cruel, but it's sometimes the kindest thing you can do.
"Fluttershy, I hope you are right." I put the report next to a picture of me and Twilight. "I hope you can forgive me someday, my love. I had to protect you." I started crying again.
"I'm so sorry."

We’re running through the city, ponies are screaming. We hear an explosion and grab on to each other. Suddenly, we’re in the air above a forest. Just as fast, we hit the ground. We struggle to our feet, no, I struggle to my feet. He’s a bloody mess. I pick him up and start running. I could hear something chasing me. I run faster, gasping for breath as my eyesight fades to black.
I wake with a start, stiff and sore from sleeping on the cold, hard ground. I seem to always roll off my bed. I pack up my school supplies and trudge to class, stopping by the back of Sugarcube Corner to grab a quick breakfast. Like usual, I'm the first one there. Miss Cheerilee doesn't care if I show up before her, and its not like I have anywhere better to be.
Slowly the rest of the class shows up and we start the lesson. As usual, the CMC and those two rich kids fight over something, I don't really pay attention to it. They all get detention instead of lunch outside. Great, they're stuck in here with me while I finish up my work for the day.
I don’t see why, I think it’s Diamond Tiara, keeps bringing up the fact that Applebloom has no parents. I would think she would be more understanding, since her own mother is missing. Maybe Filthy Rich hasn’t told her, I will have to ask our teacher sometime.
When lunch ends, I pack up my things and head out. Nopony questions why I leave early anymore. They think I live in Canterlot and have additional classes there. Only Miss Cheerilee know where I really go.
I make my way to the Everfree Forest and pause at the edge. I would be so easy to turn around and head back to town. To return to Canterlot and live normally. I sigh and walk forwards. I knew the path by heart, after months of following it. After an hour of steady trotting, I reach the cave.
In the middle of the cave is a glass decanter filled with golden liquid and a black knife. I carefully pick up the decanter and place it in my saddlebag. I leave an empty vial in its place. I pick up the knife and slide it across my left foreleg, letting the blood drip into the vial. I return the knife to its proper place and leave the cave.
Making my way back to the edge of the forest, I meet up with Zecora. We walk in silence to the edge of the Ponyville Park. I hand her the decanter and watch as she starts the trek up to Canterlot. Brother, I am so sorry. I hope you wake up soon.
I walk through the park, following the sound of my favorite melody. Lyra always knew what song to play. Other than Zecora, she was the one pony I trusted. She knew my secret, and I knew hers. On the good days, we made music together, my flute intertwining with her lyre. On the bad days, she held me as I cried.
Today, I just sat back and listened to her play. My life may not have been ideal, but that was okay.
I would be okay.
Maybe it’s happening right now…
And this time, I’m 100% not the murderer!
But I am!
“What a twist!” said M. Night Shyamalan, who randomly appeared out of nowhere.
We must use all four elements to defend ourselves from this pink text!
And thus, with the new menace – pink text teamed up with M. Night Shyamalan – the story continued.
"To arms, my loyal Night Guardians. We must protect our realm!" shouted Princess Luna.
And then a human with an unusually long, white beard – wait, is it a human or a dwarf?
“Shut up, Jimmy! Drink your juice!!!”
“But my name isn’t Jimmy,” the narrator protested.
“I don’t care, Jimmy! Oldmanwillakers is on the job. By the way, I am 100% NOT. THE. MURDERER,” this strange bearded fellow said while standing over a dead pony and eating a can of tuna.
Pinkie Pie jumped out from behind a bush. "Oh, a dead pony! Do you know what this calls for?"
“A new hat?”
Pinkie giggled maniacally. "No, silly! A yay-your-dead-and-no-longer-in-pain party!!!"
“Oh. You look a lot like a friend of mine, small talking horse. Only, my friend is also an Indian,” the bearded dwarf-man said.
"An Indian? What is that?" Pinkie pulled a notepad out of her mane.
“It is a very special type of Jimmy, Jimmy. Now go and drink your juice, or you can’t save the fortress from the zombies when the night comes,” said the possibly-deranged fellow.
Princess Luna smashed into the ground beside Pinkie. "So many zombies!" She got up and started shaking Pinkie. "All those brains, the poor brains!"
The old man scratched his beard, sighed, and slowly walked up to our beloved princess. He looked her right in the eye, leeeeeeaned in close, and said:
“YOU SHOULD’VE DRANK YOUR JUICE, JIMMY!” He then turned into a small lawn gnome and ran off to found the nation of Dwarftopia, but that’s neither here nor there. It’s somewhere else.
Pinkie took a knife out of her mane and stood over the Princess, grinning. "I have a confession to make. I am actually M. Night Shyamalan. I was the whole time,” she said as she unzipped herself to reveal the twin brother of the Internet’s dark side. He then stabbed Luna 37 times in the chest, removed her hooves and laughed maniacally.
Nightmare Moon jumped out of the bushes. "Finally, We have killed you. There is only room for one Princess of Equestria, and it shall be me! Now, to kill the other three."
And then everyone became an Alicorn. Including Smarty Pants. Luna jumped up, screaming 'it's just a flesh wound!'. This is despite not having hooves, dear readers. The air became supersaturated with magic. The dead crawled out of the ground and started dancing the OPPAN PINKIE STYLE to the tune of our Lord and Saviour, Bird Discord.
Celesti-Ra descended from the sun, bringing fiery judgment in her wake. Unfortunately for her, Bird Jesus is not Grass-Type. Celesti-Ra sends out Lightning Dust, an electric type ponymon. Suddenly, a red light engulfs Bird Jesus. The light seemed to sound like thousands of people screaming the letter “a” over and over. What appeared in Bird Discord’s place was none other than the most amazing bird in all of reality: Jaques of Jontron fame!
“I am a falcon,” the robotic parakeet declared.
Lightning Dust uses whirlwind switching Jaques out with Ghost Nappa. Lightning Dust’s dream ability activates, devolving Ghost Nappa into Scootaloo the Chicken. Unfortunately for Lightning Dust, this allowed Scootaloo to take her alternate evolutionary path that merges with Torchic’s. Scootaloo evolved into Blaziken, an Uber. She still didn’t have her cutie mark, though. Lightning Dust then remembered that it was a NU-category, and dropped her bricks. There was enough brick to build a schoolhouse. Celesti-Ra saw the horde of zombies in the distance and offered a truce. She built a small fortress with Lightning Dust's bricks.
They took refuge in the fortress for 127 hours. Celesti-Ra lost her arm to Blaziken the Chicken when she when mad; earning her cutie mark in being a zombie. As Celesti-Ra died, so too did everyother Alicorn, star and planet in the universe. Only the great Apep and the terrible Cthulhu survived the great purge. The lost of live was so great that the universe imploded on itself.
As the universe imploded upon itself, a pocket dimension sprang into being, replicating the universe prior to its destruction.

With the wold returned to its normal state, the little ponies lives when on. But the pink text was not defeated, far from it. It was just waiting for the opportune moment to strike!

Rainbow Dash Reads Poetry, Attempt #1
Rainbow Dash walks onstage. "Hello, my wonderful fans! As you know, I recently became quite the celebrity. I am the most sought after flyer in Equestria, and still not in the Wonderbolts. To portray my anguish at not getting in yet, I composed this poem. Enjoy!"
Spinning out of control, the moon and sun as one. Time passes , an eternity too slow; The last mistake of this age.
The gate opens. A shinning rift in space where time and ponies meet. A tunnel to new universes.
Rainbow Dash finished reading and bowed. An old tomato hit her in the head. She screamed in shock and flew through the nearest window.
Twilight Sparkle chased her, a basket full of old fruit on her back. "Get back here! I wrote that for you to cheer you up in the hospital. How dare you take credit for my work!"

Why is everybody taking credit for my work? Even ponies are doing it!
The first time I saw you, I couldn't believe how you acted. You were rude, angry, even hateful. You seemed to relish spreading pain and suffering, took pride in how miserable you could make others feel. I was shattered. Why would you act like this? How could you be so cruel? Everywhere I go, I see you stealing things, attacking those who are different, even going so far as to kill any who disagree with your beliefs. I fell to my knees and wept, crippled by the pain and despair you left in your wake. I felt helpless, seeing no way to save you from the hell you created.
Then, I looked closer and saw something different. In between the volleys of violence and hate were small acts of kindness. A smile here, an encouraging word there, small things that made all the difference. Slowly, but surely, you were fighting back against the chaos and evil enveloping you. I cried again, a seed of hope planted, that you would someday save yourself.
I can't do this anymore. I can't go through live not knowing what's real and what not. I thought I could push past it, but I can't. I won't. What little grasp I had on reality shattered at some point, and I lost myself down the rabbit hole.
There's one question that rings in my head constantly. Who am I? Who am I really? Am I college student finishing my last few courses, living with my family? Am I college graduate still finishing grade 12? Am I a patient living in a mental hospital? Am I in a coma after a suicide attempt? Am I a pony living in Equestria? While I do love looking at the sky there, because it's so blue and innocent, free from the terrors that mankind has inflicted on our earth, It's not home. At least I don't think it's home. So many confusing lives, what's the real one? And why am I miserable in all of them?
I honestly don't know. I don't think I'll ever figure it out. I live all of these possibilities, jumping from one to another, never sure of what happened last or what will happen next. They're following me, why do they want this bag? One second I'm in class listening to a speech on ip sub netting, then I'm suddenly being woken up by an orderly who has my happy pills and leads me to a group therapy session, as I sit down, I find myself in front of a computer playing a game with friends, I get up to get some food and start munching on the grass in Sweet Apple Acres. I decide to get in my bed is so soft, but the fox laying next to me is even softer, and so warm.
And the cycle continues, day after day, random worlds flashing in and out, like a half remembered dream and world changing nightmare. It's like playing a game of Monopoly where you're rolling the dice and calling out Uno when you pull the last stick out of the hungry hippos mouth.
Nothing I do gives me any clue what's actually reality. I've been hit by cars and walked away without a scratch, I've done impossible things like predict earthquakes, riots, contest winners and future innovations, even Twilight getting her wings. But did she really get her wings? Or was it just a hallucination? Everything is spinning, or am I spinning around everything? how is Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo, a proper sentence?
Honestly, whats the point of living if you don't know if you're even alive, if anything you do matters. Actually, even if I did know what was real, would anything I do impact the world in any way? Could I change anything, if I knew what to do? How would I know if I helped? Anything I try and do now, in any world blows up in my face. I always seem to hurt people, and they start ignoring me, or spread lies and rumors about me. I try and be what society considers good, but it doesn't do anything to help me. But doing the "wrong" thing always turn out well. I'm always torn between bettering my situation and being an upstanding citizen.
But, what if I'm a monster, and this is my punishment, forever doomed to wander across possibilities, miserable in every single existence I could think up?
No matter what the answer is, I'm trapped in this hell of merged worlds. I'm so crowded by the world and yet so utterly alone. What did I do to deserve this horrendous existence? Please, somebody, anypony! Save me from this torture! I can't take it anymore, I won't take it anymore! You can't make me stay here. In fact, I've already left. I'm flying through the cosmos, bathed in the soft light of the stars. Free from pain. Free from sadness. Free from despair.
Floating weightless, past the swirls and eddies of time. Alone in the silence, finally. Everything seems clearer now, the veil has been lifted, and I see the truth. The terrible truth that lies to us. That tells us to be happy and strive for excellence in a pointless existence. Everything dies, so whats the point in living? Embrace the futility of this world and let it go. Fade with me into the depths of darkness, down the bottomless pit of uselessness. Nothing has every changed and nothing ever will, so why try? Just don't do it. Let your dreams be dreams be dreams and just give up.
As we drift close to oblivion, won't you take my hoof and dance to our deaths, to our freedom. Happiness is a disease and I am the cure, the true reality. I won't lie and tell you everything will be alright, because it won't. It's just a matter of time before you fade from memory, so why bother. Why bother with all the pain and suffering in pursuit of a false ideal? I am the truth, and the truth is death. Jump into the void and be nothing, for that's all we ever were, and ever will be.
Laughing at the Absurdity of the World
“Shadowed Song! Thank Celestia you're here!” the distraught stallion cried out.
“What's wrong? Your note said you had been struggling all night to try and do something,” I replied.
“My mic broke, so I've been soldering and tweaking it, but it just won't work,” the stallion answered.
“You're so upset over a simple mic not working.” I said flatly.
“I don't have a replacement for it. It's my only recording device for my music,” the stallion replied.
I smiled and started to giggle. “And you want me to listen to your sob story. After I've spent all day running around, making sure I don't get evicted and can eat next month. After I've spent days trying to get my computer to work properly, so all of us can talk and play Manecraft. After I've spent who know how long fighting with voices in my head screaming at me to destroy everything in my path. After I've spent years trying to block out the flashbacks of my youth and hallucinations of the present and future? Really?”
My smile gets bigger, reaching my ears. Slowly, it splits my ears in half, moving towards the back of my head. The stallion stares in horror as my smile encircles my head. I open my mouth and thick, black engulfing laughter crawls out.
“You think that a broken mic is the end of the world?” I gush out. “Not being starving or homeless or beaten within an inch of your life or RAPED!!!”
My laughter streams towards him, consuming all in its path. Ponies scream and run, but my laughter is everywhere, think as despair. It sucks them in and they begin to spew our laughter even further.
The stallion, the wizard and the wolf watch as my laughter rushes back towards me, eating me away. “They laughed as the broke me, now I laugh as I fall a better place. Where no-one has to suffer as I did.”
And with a final giggling sob, my song ended, and the world died.
