An Adventure Gone Right?
The Beginning of a New Life

Consciousness was something I found increasingly harder to achieve while the days dragged out and I lost track of how many had actually passed, to recount I’ve come to my senses and woken up at least five times over the past day or maybe more. But each time I’ve blacked out and returned to my world of slumber and darkness. That was until I woke up in a hospital bed with the cold night air hitting my skin and half my clothing missing from my body being replaced with a gown of some sort.
As I sat up in my small hospital bed which felt slightly harder than any bed I’ve ever slept in before, “God my back is killing me” I spoke softly and tried to move out of the bed but met some resistance which held me back a bit due to my lack of strength, “god damn accident” I continued to speak while detaching the small cables that were keeping me from moving out of the bed.
I made my out of the bed but fell to the ground quickly due to my muscles being weakened from lack of use “How long was I out?” I asked myself again but managed to stand up straight without collapsing on the third try and looked around the room completely for the first time. The room was completely white as far as I could see and smelled faintly of medical equipment and a dentist’s office.
Recoiling at the smell and remembering many childhood days of visiting the dentist to have fillings put in made me cringe. After my eyes scanned the room I located my clothing and sword which was sitting in the corner of the room on a small stand, neatly folded and everything. I wandered over while almost tripping a few times due to my brain still being dizzy from standing up after staying on the ground for so long.
Reaching the table I ran my hand over the clothes that lay in front of me and frowned when they felt cleaner than before and blushed when I thought of someone I didn’t know washing my clothes while I was comatose in a bed. I slipped the gown off and picked up my shirt while looking around again to make sure no one was around to see me change. “Why aren’t there any other patients here or nurses to come and check on me” I wondered to myself while fidgeting to get my shirt on completely with a small struggle I finally got my head through the hole and started to pick up my pants.
Halfway through putting my pants on I heard footsteps rushing towards the room and immediately panicked when I realized that they would run in on me half naked. “Come on” I begged my pants silently and just as the door flew open and a white girl stood there I pulled the pants up and gave a small smile as to show nothing was wrong. “Yo” I spoke loudly while waving and seeing nothing out of place from first glance and turned around to pick up my sword before feeling something furry and soft wrap around my body and pull me away “Hey” I yelled before being silenced in a tight hug that forced all the air out of my lungs.
Just before
Celestia paced around the room for the second night in a row, after lowering the sun and raising the moon she had returned to the hospital and waited for any news on her old crush and new saviour. While pacing she was thinking about how and why Harold had returned and how he looked even younger than he did previously. “Maybe an age spell?” Celestia wondered but brushed that away when she recalled he had no magic and it didn’t exist in his world, she sat down with a sigh and watched as a nurse wrote down on a clipboard. The sound of scribbling filled the cool night air and stayed for a few seconds until an alarm started blaring and all the mares in the room started panicking
“What room is it?” One yelled and was quickly met with the response “Room 33” and the Nurse mares turned to dash towards the room but were too slow as Celestia had already gotten up and was running as fast as she could to the room that held her only hope and saviour.
Bursting through the door she noticed Harold finishing with his pants and turned up to give her a wave and a simple two syllable word. ‘Idiot’ Celestia thought before moving over and pulling her old friend into a warm embrace, she heard mumbling from the hug but ignored it and began to cry softly into the man’s hair. “I always knew you would return I always knew it” Celestia cried while holding her crush close and not ever wanting to let go.
Back to present
While being crushed in a tight hug I began to notice that the girl hugging me was very tall compared to me and I’m pretty tall when it comes to my family and friends but this girl was much taller, about a good foot above me. The second thing I noticed was she had a layer of fur which covered her entire body, or at least as much as I could see and feel without trying to purposely feel this creature up.
I gave up trying to escape and tried to say “Can I please be released” but all that I got out of it was a mumble and a mouth full of the taste of fur. After my attempt at communication I felt something wet hit my head and hoped that this creature wouldn’t eat me or anything. Contemplating the results of what could be the liquid hitting my head I heard he say something in a voice that sounded happy and suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks hitting the surface of Jupiter. She was crying in joy for me being here in her arms, I decided to ignore my minds objections and allowed this female creature to hug me for as long as she wanted.
Finally after a good two minutes I was released from her death grip and collapsed onto the ground gasping for air and choking on a bit of fur I got in my mouth while breathing. “Harold are you okay?” The female asked me with worry in her voice wondering if she had overdone the hug. I nodded in answer to her question and stood up about to give a verbal response when I stopped ‘Did she just call me Harold?’ I thought to myself
“Did you just call me by my father’s name?” I asked the creature and received a look of confusion which made me start to question my safety since I was not the person she actually seeked. But to my surprise she just sat down on a small chair and sighed mumbling something about her hopes being too high for her old saviour to return. “Hey are you okay?” I asked while stepping closer and leaning down to look at her closely, she was very attractive even with the muzzle that reminded me of a horse.
“I’m crying because you are not who I thought you were” she responded while looking up, recoiling away in surprise when she saw I was so close to her.
“The man named Harold. Does he look like me?” I asked while stepping back hoping I didn’t frighten the horse like creature.
She nodded slowly and began to talk about the man I began to realize was my father. “He had blonde hair much like yours, well built, about the same size as you and older and much more mature” she finished with a sigh and tried to recall more but was unable to.
“That man is my Father” I said with confidence in my voice as I was sure that the person she described was my father to the letter, retrieving the sword I held it up. “Did he have this when you saw him” I asked but was shocked when she shook her head.
“No he didn’t have that. I gave it to him” She said with surprise when I told her I was his son and asked her if my father had the sword.
I backed away unable to process what she was saying and sat down on the bed I had up until recently been asleep in “So you gave my father this sword?” I questioned and received a curt nod and started to feel the sword in my hands ‘Wow’ I thought to myself. “Does that mean anything?” I continued to ask.
Celestia started to think about the question being posed “Well we may as well get this out of the way right now” she started to speak before glancing around to make sure no one was near to listen in. “Your father was the saviour of this land and its inhabitants, he saved us all from the crushing grasp of an oppressor seeking to destroy this land of all tranquillity and peace.” She started to think of how to continue as I processed this with a shocked look on my face
“My father saved an entire world?” I mumbled softly to myself to quiet for her to hear me, “and now I’m here to possibly do the same?” I posed all these questions to myself and not her.
“He appeared out of nowhere and when I found him he agreed to help me, thus we began our journey to take back the thrown. He used that sword you hold because of the Elements of Harmony he brought from your world.” She continued and I barely would’ve heard her unless she had cleared her throat loudly. “He and I fought this evil oppressor by the name of Blaire the Unicorn and after a good hour of fighting, your father won the battle and Blaire was defeated.” She finished and was about to add something but I interrupted her.
“But now he’s back?” I hesitantly finished for her and received a nod and a look that told me I had hit the nail on the head. “So now you expect his son to do the same?” I asked her which prompted an awkward silence which made me nervous as to the answer.
She stood up and made her way closer to me “I’m not asking you to do it, I’m begging you to do it” Celestia said while kneeling down in front of me with hope in her eyes for her new saviour.
Unable to bear seeing such a regal creature on the floor begging I pulled her up as best as I could and hugged her close “I’ll help you, because my father would want me to” I answered before feeling her arms wrap around me as well pulling me into a hug that wasn’t as tight as before but more soft and loving, her fur only made it more comfortable and that prompted another question which ran through my head ‘Why hadn’t I asked this before’ I looked up at the regal creature and asked “What are you and your people by the way?” I asked
She seemed shocked at first but then remembered I was new to her world and pulled me over to the hospital bed, I felt a soft warmth envelope my body and was lifted slowly off the ground and placed into my bed once the warmth was gone she began to explain.
“Well I don’t know how to explain this very well much other than the fact we are Ponies and have inhabited this land for thousands of years.” She finished her little memory dive and continued “We are split into four types of Ponies that each have their own special abilities which help the world of Equestria function. The Earth Ponies possess no horns or wings but are amazing when it comes to physical strength and growing produce. Pegasus Ponies have the ability to fly and manipulate the weather around them; they can also walk on clouds without having to fly.” Celestia began to think about how to explain the last two for a while it was completely silent.
Celestia gasped in happiness and then continued “Sorry for the delay Unicorn ponies Possess the ability to learn and perform magic to move things or teleport, etcetera” she continued for a short while listing all the abilities that unicorns could use which made me lose interest until she began about another creature called an alicorn “the Alicorn’s Posses the ability to fly and cast magic abilities but also are more regal and usually treated like royalty, hence why I am ruler of this land. Our magic is usually stronger than any other form of magic and an alicorn can only be created by another Alicorn and cannot be born.” Celestia finished her short history lesson and smiled happily while I sat there trying to process all the information just shoved down my throat.
“So now that you understand what there is to know about this world?” she began “Will you help save my kingdom and all its inhabitants?” she asked and I didn’t even give it a second thought before nodding.
“There is no way I could turn down a princess who is almost begging me” I spoke over her while nodding and she started to complain she wasn’t begging but I reminded her of when she kneeled down to me like I was a king. This prompted a blush to spread across her face while she remembered the ordeal.
“Now since you’ve agreed to help me I think I can arrange for you to stay with my student who has just recently moved into Pony Ville upon my request, so she could make some friends to discover the Elements which had been hidden away since your father disappeared. “ Celestia spoke calmly but also rushed since she looked like she had remembered something.
“You need to go and meet with her while trying to help get the Elements for your sword to use I need you to keep it a secret that Blaire has returned” she spoke urgently now “They cannot find out and you need to train with the elements in secret so that they don’t know he has returned” she finished and stood up now with a smile on her face. “I’ll get your paperwork signed and you sent out” she spoke while leaving me and the information I just processed.
About an hour later I was allowed to leave the building and received a few waves from the female nurses, I had no idea why they were waving but decided to wave back as to not be rude and then walked out the front door into the cold night air. It pricked at my skin prompting a small shiver before I got used to it and started to walk down the road.
Receiving a mental map from Celestia was the last gift I received before she left the hospital claiming she needed to stop something from happening, she mentioned something about the moon and her sister but she was too rushed for me to hear.
The mental map Celestia imprinted into my head allowed me to know where I was but from an overhead view which annoyed me slightly since I didn’t know what I was looking at from the map and couldn’t tell what was a house and what wasn’t, all I knew was I needed to find a giant tree with the lights still on. “Good luck, there is no way someone is still up at this time” I said softly while walking down the pathway towards the area of the town she had told me it was in.
My jaw dropped when I saw how big the tree actually was and the fact Celestia was right about there being lights on at this hour, “Who is this crazy as to be awake at this time” I said softly and under my breath before making my way to the door and knocking on it softly. The door opened after a few seconds and a Lavender female stood in front of me with a book levitating behind her,’ wait no she wasn’t a female she was a pony so does that mean that she was a mare?’ I thought before looking up at the mare.
“Oh it’s you” she said excitedly “I received a letter from Celestia earlier, I’m Twilight Sparkle. The letter said you would be here soon enough and would be staying for a while.” She continued like a little girl who had just gotten her Christmas present early. ‘I have a bad feeling about this’ I thought to myself before giving a small smile.
“Yeah sorry about the intrusion, Celestia just told me to find you and stay with you and your friends” I began to talk and she nodded in agreement and told me something about tomorrow being the Sun Summer Celebration or whatever and then something about a Nightmare Moon returning. I ignored most of what she was saying but still took in the information; my attention was drawn to the small purple dragon that was now carrying books across the library.
Twilight looked behind her and then called out “Spike come say hello to our guest” she spoke to the purple dragon with a commanding but loving voice and the small dragon came over quickly, his run almost made me laugh because it looked so funny with his small legs working so hard to move the rest of his body.
“Hi I’m Spike and I’m a dragon, I’m also Twilights number one assistant” The purple dragon now known as spike spoke to me while pointing to his chest in pride from the last sentence as if it meant something was amazing about him. Rather not to insult him I told him that he was pretty amazing to do all that, he smiled more and then rushed off to continued stacking books neatly.
“I have a room set up in the spare room just through the kitchen that you can use when you get tired” Twilight spoke while ignoring her assistant as he dropped a bunch of books by accident and then scurried to pick them all up “Spike!” she yelled angrily when another stack of books fell, I took this as my time to flee and made my way past Twilight and into the kitchen.
Finding a door in the kitchen that lead to the bedroom was far easier than most of my day. I entered the room and collapsed onto the bed with a sigh, practically the moment my head hit the pillow I fell asleep not even bothering to cover myself with the blanket or to get undressed and take the sword off my back. I just simply collapsed and fell into a deep slumber than I invited willingly.
