Equestria's Demise

"PRINCESS CADENCE???" Twilight couldn't help to shout in disbelief.

"Is anything wrong, Twilight?" Mayor Mare questioned.

"Oh, uh... no, that's fine," Twilight replied. However, Twilight was still concerned.

Could Cadence really run all of Equestria? She had trouble running just the Crystal Empire, alone...

"This ends my public announcement." Mayor Mare concluded.

Twilight had trouble sleeping that night. She kept being lost in though, what would become of Equestria with the Royal Sisters gone, if Equestria would even survive, all the "whats" and "ifs" that she could imagine. Soon enough, she fell asleep out of pure exhaustion from thinking so much. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash was telling the news to Cloudsdale, which was still worried of the Moon and Sun in the sky at the same time, as was still most of Equestria. Rainbow's speech was almost the same as Mayor Mare had declared. The rest of Ponyville was trying to rest as well.

The next day, Twilight traveled to Canterlot, to check up on Cadence.

"Hello, Twilight." Cadence greeted. "I've been so worried about you, more or less, the entirety of Equestria. It was easy ruling just the Crystal Empire alongside Shining Armor, but all of Equestria? By myself? That would be overwhelming."

"I'm sure it would be." Twilight replied. "And as a dictator? Nopony was titled that in over 1,000 years."

"Shining is now ruler of the Crystal Empire. I miss him." Cadence said. "He must be as worried as I am."

"So, how will you go by ruling Equestria?" Twilight asked.

"Well first, we have to get rid of that." Cadence pointed to the sky. "Remember how when Princess Luna was banished to the moon, Princess Celestia had to take the task of raising and lowering the sun and the moon?"

"You don't think you're going to do that? Are you?"

"It's the only thing we can try."

Cadence started using here magic to lower the moon. It took a few minutes for Cadence to get the magic right. After a couple tries, the moon finally lowered, for the sun to stay in the sky, as it was day.

"You did it, Cadence!" Twilight admired Cadence's ability to use the magic that only the Two Royal Sisters could use for millennia.

"Well, now that that's all taken care of, I'll go off governing the kingdom."

"Wait! Cadence!" Twilight shouted. "Are you sure that you can manage all of Equestria?"

"I'll be fine. I've had a lot of experience from governing the Crystal Empire."

Twilight left to go back to Ponyville while Cadence started making plans for all sorts of things.

"Well... ther's governing Canterlot, then, checking up on the big cities, Manehattan, Boltimare, Las Pegasus, Trottingham..."

Twilight had a bit less trouble sleeping that night, knowing that everything was safe and sound. A new era, a new day, a new ruler...
