Chapters 18 year old John Parks has never been Fazed.
Your probably thinking, 'well that's kind of impossible,' well, that's an opinion, but remember, nothing is impossible.
Anyway, John was a normal guy, tons of friends, great parents, great home, wasn't poor, got good grades, never smoked or drank alcohol, never done drugs.
He was normal.
Except, one thing made him stick out, his personality. He has never cried, never lost his temper, but he was happy, but he didn't show it well. He was happy with what he had in life, but he usually had that one look, where he wasn't smiling, nor frowning, it was a 'blank face' if you will.
Now that you know more about John, lets start the story.
John was sitting at the lunch table, eating a ham and cheese sandwich, or, as he calls it, his normal lunch. But John wasn't alone at the lunch table, like I said, he had many friends, but today he just sat with his best buddy, Cody.
Cody was 6'2, while John stood at 6'4. Cody always wore the same blue sweater almost everyday, but of course took it off during gym, so at least you could tell he changed his clothing everyday, today he was wearing a pair of black jeans, with a green t-shirt, with no real design on it, Cody's hair was black and flat like normal, and wore no glasses, unlike John, but had the same color eyes, blue.
John was wearing a pair of black gym pants, and a red t-shirt, which was covered by his black hoodie, John's had dirty blond hair, which was flat as well, he didn't have much to do with it but spike it, which he never did.
Cody reached into his green lunch bag, and pulled out a bag of Doritos, he looked over at John's lunch and smiled.
"The usual?" Cody asked, John looked over at him, and nodded, then turned back to his sandwich, John wasn't the type to talk either, he only talked when asked a question that required more than a nod or shake of the head.
Cody opened up the bag of Doritos, took a handful, and stuffed his face, he then began to chew nosily, John was about to take a bite of his sandwich, when he heard that horrid noise of munching and smacking lips, he slowly turned his head toward the noise, but Cody was too busy eating his chips loudly to notice, he finally noticed when he began to lick his fingers, and looked over at John, he then reached into his bag with his hand that he licked and pulled out some chips, and moved the hand with the chips toward John.
"Want some?" Cody asked, John continued to stare at him, after a few seconds of staring, Cody just shrugged and moved the chips toward his mouth, only for his chip bag to get knocked out of his hand by his buddy's hand.
Before Cody could ask "What was that for?!," the loud sound mixture of rings and clangs they called 'a bell' began to ring.
"Greeeeeeeeeeat, now I got no lunch." He said, John just gave a taunting shrug, and motioned him to the door which led to the hallway for classrooms, or as many people called it, "The Hallway of Hell."
After that productive lunch, or as John liked to call it, "a normal Lunch," everyone eventually made it to their respective classrooms, Cody and John were friends since kindergarten, and since then, they were ALWAYS put in the same classes for some strange reasons they did not know, destiny?, who knew.
John and Cody had Social Studies at that point, where they were learning something that I WILL spare the details because, who needs to learn when they read, ANYWAY, I got way off topic, so, their Social Studies teacher, Mr.Ralph, was in the middle of his lesson, when he noticed that John hadn't written anything down.
"Mr.Parks, why aren't you writing any of this down, please take out your pencil and notebook." He said, just to add on to the moment, Cody tauntingly said, "Yeah John, get your stuff out." And of course, the entire class erupted into laughter, which John responded, not with a come back or embarrassment, but by obliging, and getting his stuff, usually if something like that happened to anyone else, people would usually continue laughing for a while because of the reaction, but with John, he had no real reaction, sure he COULD talk, but only when asked something that couldn't be answered with a nod or shake of the head, like I said before, he was smarter than anyone else in a situation like that, he doesn't like to waste his breath.
John opened up his backpack, and pulled out his notebook and pencil, John was ALWAYS prepared, in his backpack, he had EVERYTHING he needed, people called it "The Utility Pack," because of the stuff in it, food, water, Axe spray, well, he started bringing Axe one day when someone came back from the gym, smelling like fish, so the next day, he brought some Axe, sure enough, the same kid came in smelling like fish, John handed the Axe over to the boy, and walked away, he also had a packaged steak in his backpack, ever since his neighbor moved in, he always had a steak in his backpack for the dog that always chased him.
After some time of writing notes, the teacher was in the middle of speaking, when he completely froze up, after a few seconds, Rachel Gardner, "The school Drama Queen," the entire school calls her because, if you say ONE mean thing to her, she will NOT stop talking about it for an entire week, asked,
"Mr.Ralph, are you alright?" She asked him, he turned to the class, a serious expression on his face, before his serious expression turned to one of happiness, it was almost creepy.
"Class, I have decided . . . WE ARE ALL GONNA WATCH A MOVIE!" He exclaimed, the entire class up roared into excitement, they were so loud, John almost had to cover his ears. "AND, you can vote on ANY genre of movie, EVEN horror gore," again the entire class up roared, louder this time, but John's ears were too shocked from the first cheer to notice.
The class eventually got into a vote between the two old fashioned horror movies, Halloween 4, or Freddy vs. Jason, both of course, never even made John flinch when he first saw either of them, but the voting had been set a tie, so Mr.Ralph decided to have them watch Halloween 4 that day, and Freddy vs Jason the next day, too bad John wouldn't be able to watch Freddy vs Jason the next day.
Half way through the movie, a girl in John's class moved up toward him, this certain girl was one that John didn't really have a "crush" on, but made him feel a bit happy when she was around him.
"Hey um, John, do you mind if I sit close to you, I'm not too good with horror movies, they scare me too easily no matter what." She asked him, he nodded, and she scooted closer to him.
A few minutes after she scooted closer to him, Michael Myers's hand burst through the truck's window in the movie, and ripped the poor drivers throat out, she jumped toward John in her seat, shaking, her head lay there on his chest, eventually, she stopped shaking, but never moved her head, John couldn't help but move his arm over her, as if protecting her, she looked up and smiled, John sucked in some breath, about to speak . . .
But suddenly, before he could utter a word, he nearly fell out of his chair, as the classroom began to shake violently, the stuff on the teacher's desk began to shake their way toward the edge of the desk, the chalkboard began to shake so badly, the entire thing fell straight to the floor, nearly hitting the poor teacher, eventually, it got so rough, the windows began to break and shatter, everybody at this point were screaming their heads off, they were screaming stuff like,
"WE"RE ALL GONNA DIE!," or, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!," or even "I WANT MY MOMMY!"
It was getting way to loud, until finally, Mr.Ralph shouted.
"EVERYBODY CALM DOWN, EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE FINE, WE WON'T BE ABLE TO ESCAPE UNTIL WE'RE ALL CALM!"
The only person at this point who was calm was John, who just stared at the situation blankly, John made it over to whatever was left of the window, and saw the problem, a HUGE storm has started up almost out of nowhere.
"JOHN, GET AWAY FROM THERE, ITS TOO DANGEROUS!" Mr.Ralph shouted, just as Mr.Ralph said that, a lightning bolt came in through the window, just barely missing John, instead of screaming, John just shrugged and walked over to the group.
"John, let me ask you something." Cody said calmly, before shouting "HOW IN THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD ARE YOU NOT TERRIFIED, YOU NEARLY GOT HIT WITH LIGHTNING!" John just shrugged as he picked up his bag and put it on his back.
Mr.Ralph cut in, "We'll deal with that later, right now, we need to focus on getting out of here!" Mr.Ralph shouted, but quieter then before.
Mr.Ralph went up to the classroom door, his hand barely touched the door when it completely fell into the hallway . . . or what was left of it, the lockers were either knocked over or completely gone, burnt paper was everywhere, and a hallway light, which was being held up by just one wire, fell to the floor, once it hit the floor, sparks went everywhere, making everyone but John gasp, but the most noticeable thing was that, well . . . all of the walls were almost completely gone, there was a huge hole in a wall leading to the outside world, which everyone ran to, and one by one, they all went through the hole, to the freedom of outside.
After a while, John and the rest of the class made it to their class's spot for emergencies like fires, and watched the rest of the school collapse, Mr.Ralph counted up his class.
"Good, everyone's here." He sighed, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, which he wiped away with his arm. "Alright class, everyone who has a cellphone, call your parents, everyone who doesn't, use mi-" Mr.Ralph was cut off as a loud roll of thunder came from above the entire class, everyone began to back away but John, who just stared up at the clouds, he couldn't help but noticed that . . . the area of clouds above him began to open up, everyone in his class stared up at the clouds above him as they began to part more, until finally, they opened up enough to see the light of the sky . . . only to realize that it wasn't the skies light, but instead, a beam of light descended down onto John, on closer inspection, the beam of light had a tint of purple in it, the beam of light kept on going down, until finally, John's entire body was purple, everyone gasped, Cody then shouted,
"JOHN, GET OUT OF THERE!" John took one step forward, only for a jolt purple lightning to come down onto his hand, instead of zapping him, the end of it wrapped itself around John's wrist, John struggled a bit to escape, only for pain to go through his entire arm, he moved his left arm to try and help, only for another bolt of lightning to come down onto it, wrapping itself around his left arm's wrist, another bolt of lightning came down upon John's left foot, and wrapped itself around his ankle, one last bolt came down upon his right foot, and wrapped itself around his other ankle.
"JOHN, TRY TO BREAK FREE!" Mr.Ralph exclaimed, but it was too late for him, and John knew it perfectly well, when he struggled to break free, pain went through his entire body, John looked up, and saw giant purple sparks coming from the clouds, he saw the purple lightning surging like electricity through an electric circuit, eventually, the lightning began to form a pattern, turning itself into some type of ball of purple lightning, the pattern the lightning was going in became faster, the faster it went, the more the ball would light up, until finally, a loud zapping sound shot through everyone's ears as a huge lightning bolt burst through the ball, completely hitting John, immense pain shot through John's body, but he didn't cry out in pain, he knew it would be over soon, after this thought ran through his head, the students watched in shock as they saw their poor classmate get zapped into oblivion, eventually though, no one saw John through the beam of lightning like they could before, and in a matter of seconds, the lightning stopped shooting from the ball of lightning, both the lightning that 'killed' their friend and the ball of lightning, vanished into thin air.
After what seemed like an eternity, the class found the feeling in their legs return, they all looked up . . . not a cloud in the sky.
Everyone walked over to the spot where John used to be . . . nothing but purple smoke was left of their beloved classmate, everyone put their hands together, and began to pray.
Pain.
Is all that he could feel in his entire body . . . he found it very confusing that he felt pain, when all of the stories he heard of Heaven was that 'pain does not exist in Heaven,' the only way you could feel pain when your dead, is when your tortured in the pits of Hell.
But, it didn't feel like the type of pain used for torture, it felt like the type of pain you'd get in your head, or you'd get in your back after hitting it too hard, so . . . he's not dead? But how?
He remembered specifically what had happened, and he could tell it wasn't a dream he woke up from, his back was obviously not pressing against his soft mattress of his bed, in fact, the thing he felt under him felt like . . . wood, and why is it so dark for him?
After the thought of why it was dark went through his mind, he felt his body go less numb, and to realize . . . his eyes were closed.
Hey began to slowly open his eyes, only to see green . . . leaves?
On further inspection, he confirmed they were leaves, wait, leaves, the feeling of wood under him . . . he was in a tree. He looked around, it was true, he WAS in a tree, but how did he get up there?
Questions went through his entire mind, before he shook his head to clear the questions, he would find answers later, but right now, he needed to get out of the tree, when he was a kid, he LOVED to climb trees, they called him monkey until the seventh grade, so, he cracked his knuckles, and began to climb, and in a few seconds, he was down onto his own two feet again, he looked over at the trunk of the tree, and saw his black and grey backpack, at least he didn't lose it, he then put his arms through the straps of the backpack, and began to look around, he did NOT remember THIS part of the woods, so, he began to spin in circles, then stopped, he was gonna go this way, though it looked like there was nothing but trees for miles, he made his way into the direction he stopped in.
At least two hours have past and he has found no signs of any city or town, heck, even a random house would do him, but he found nothing, no signs of civilization, nothing. But he continued to walk, swatting a fly every now and then, but continued, eventually he stopped to bring out a water bottle, and gulp down half the bottle, twist the cap back on, and put it back, he then pushed back another bush, but instead of more trees, he discovered . . . a town.
This wasn't HIS town, but it was a town, he could stop and ask if he was close to Glovertown, he then pushed the straps on his backpack further up his shoulders after having them fall down to the sides of his arms, he then began to march forward, unaware that this town wasn't populated by people.
After a few minutes of more walking, he finally made it to the entrance of the town, he breathed a sigh, before walking into the town.
He began to look in all directions to try and see any signs of life, but the entire town was dead, then again, the place did look old fashion, carriages built to be pulled by horses, houses with the roof's patched with bits of hay, he even saw a building which looked like a giant gingerbread house, with a sign that said 'SugarCube Corner,' heck all of the doors were saloons.
Thinking it was an old deserted town, he began to walk back to the forest, when he smelled something delicious, it reminded him of . . . Cupcakes?
The smell was coming from 'SugarCube Corner.'
He slowly walked to the gingerbread like building, he looked over the door, he then heard of pots and pans clanging, then he heard a sound that sounded like someone shushing someone. He was very confused.
So, John slowly opened up the saloon, and peeked in, he turned his head over to three tables, only for three heads to quickly hide behind them, he turned his head to three other tables, only for three more heads to hide behind them, he turned his head to the opposite side of the room he was in, only for there to be a counter, but instead of three heads hiding behind counter, a figure quickly popped up from behind it, and in a flash . . . John was tackled to the ground.
He felt himself and the figure on top of him tumble around for a few seconds before stopping, with his attacker on top of him.
"Alright, listen buddy, I don't know WHAT you are or WHO you are, but you better leave! RIGHT! NOW!" Came the words of his attacker, who seemed to have a tomboyish attitude.
John slowly opened his eyes . . . for something he did NOT expect, on top of him WASN'T a tomboyish woman, well, in a way she WAS a woman, but the thing on top of him . . . was a Pony?
John was pretty confused at this point, but didn't show it, instead, kept his calm and collective face, which seemed to make her mad.
"Wise guy, eh, well, lets see how tough you are when your falling!" She exclaimed, and in a matter of seconds, he and his attacker were in the air, the higher they went, the more angry she got when he didn't show ANY type of fear, but after a few seconds she stopped. "You tough now!?" She asked loudly, John just stared at her blankly, all of a sudden, John heard a new voice down below, he looked down . . . and saw ANOTHER pony, this pony was purple with a pink highlight in her hair, and she had a . . . horn?
"RAINBOW DASH, don't hurt it!" The pony below exclaimed, getting a better look at his captive, he saw she had a rainbow mane with blue fur, and instead of a horn, she had a pair of wings, a pegasus and a unicorn?
"NO WAY TWILIGHT, THIS THING COULD BE DANGEROUS, I WANT TO PROVE TO IT THAT WE CAN BE DANGEROUS TOO!" She called backed.
"Listen to yourself Rainbow Dash, you said it yourself, he COULD be dangerous, meaning there's a CHANCE he's dangerous, that doesn't automatically mean he's dangerous!" She called up. "Now put him down!"
"Whatever you say!" She called with a smirk, before dropping him, John saw that he was getting closer to the ground, so he just crossed his arms and waited for the pain . . . which never came, in fact, he didn't feel the wind blowing past him quickly, he looked down and saw he was floating down, he looked at his arms and legs, and saw a purple aura surrounding him, he looked down at "Twilight," and saw her horn glowing brightly.
After a few seconds of floating down, his feet finally touched the ground, and the aura went away, he looked over at Twilight, who sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness your alright, I was worried she hurt you, you ARE alright, are you?" She asked, he just nodded.
"That's good, my name is Twilight Sparkle, and that, um, nice mare that lifted you up into the sky, is Rainbow Dash." She said, pointing at "Rainbow Dash," she just rolled her eyes.
"Whatever, anyway, Twilight seems to think your harmless, but I'm keeping a CLOSE eye on you pal." She said, moving in close, one eye open to prove her point.
"Alright guys, come on out, its harmless!" Twilight called into the sweet shop, after a few seconds, sounds of hooves on wood came through the shop, then, the saloon doors opened, and out walked three ponies, and a weird lizard thing, who were eyeing him suspiciously.
"Are ya sure Twilight, he looks awful shady tah me." Came the voice of the orange pony with a cowboy hat on, under the hat was long, blonde hair, no wings or a horn.
"I do agree with Applejack darling, he does look awful, uh, not nice, plus, look at that poor fashion choice, that SCREAMS trouble." Came the voice of the white pony with purple hair, she seemed to also have a horn.
"Well, if Twilight says he nice, he's GOT to be nice." Came the voice of the green and purple lizard thing, who seemed to be the only male with these 'mares.'
"Thank you Spike." Twilight answered.
"HEYTWILIGHTCANYOUTELLMEIFHELIKESPARTIESCAUSEIFHEDOESIMGOINGTOTHROWHIMTHEBIGGESTPARTYEVER!" Exclaimed the voice of the pink pony who seemed to like parties, also no wings or horn.
"Not the time for your randomness Pinkie Pie!" Twilight exclaimed, the only normal one of the group.
"AWWWWWWWWWW, WHY NOT!" She exclaimed.
"Because, we're missing Fluttershy." Twilight said.
"OOOOOOOOOOOH, OK, I'LL GO GET HER!" She shouted, and in a few seconds, she ran into the shop, and brought out a frightened yellow pony with a pink mane, she had wings like the rainbow one.
"Bring me back inside." She said in a whisper, trying to rush back inside, only for her to get stopped by Pinkie.
"DON'T BE SILLY, HE'S FRIENDLY!" She exclaimed to her, that didn't seem to help, as she began to cower behind her mane.
"Alright, now that we're all here, the cowpony right there is Applejack." Twilight said, Applejack tilted her hat to him.
"Howdy partner." She said simply, John just nodded to her.
"Right here is Rarity, she's our clothing designer in town," Twilight said, pointing at Rarity.
"Pleasure to meet you, I don't mean to offend you, but, uh, your clothing choice isn't the best." She said, John looked down at himself, his hoodie was ripped, his gym pants were all dirty and ripped, and his shoes had holes in them, John scratched the back of his neck.
"And the excited party lover right there is Pinkie Pie." Twilight said, pointing at Pinkie, she waved so fast her entire hoof was a blur.
"That baby dragon right there is my number one assistant, Spike." She said, pointing at the "baby dragon."
"Hello, its nice to meet you." He said, holding out his claw, for a shake, John obliged and took his claw, and shook his hand up and down.
"And that shy one right there is Fluttershy." She said, pointing at the shaking pegasus, John just waved at her.
"Alright, now that you know OUR names, what's yours?" Twilight asked.
John thought for a moment, should he trust them, or just leave right there, but then again, who else is gonna help him find his way home, so, he took in a breath of air . . .
only for the sound of multiple wing beats interrupt him, everyone looked up, and saw a carriage flying above their heads, and in seconds, it landed, the ponies that were flying the carriage were all pegasuses, or Pegausi, and as soon as they landed, they all withdrew their swords, one of them shouted,
"Alright, everypony GET BACK, this thing can't hurt you anymore, YOUR COMING WITH US BEAST!"
Chapter 3: The Princesses
John just stood there, staring at the ponies, which were more likely guards, judging by their golden armor and their forceful voices, but, guards or not, they didn't really look that threatening, sure their swords were made of pure steel, but their body size was a different story, John had to look down at the guards, they were about half his height, he could easily hurt them, but he didn't, why be a dangerous beast in a place with MAGIC, the same type of magic that saved him from his doom of falling by that damned Rainbow pony, so, not having none of it, John just turned from the guards, and walked toward the exit of town, back to the forest, the guards didn't seem to like that decision,
"HEY, where do you think your going, get back here!" exclaimed a guard, but John didn't stop, he just kept walking, he then heard Twilight say,
"Would you just leave him alone, he isn't dangerous." she said, the guard just chuckled,
"That's for the princesses to decide." he replied, John stopped dead in his tracks, he began to think, that if Twilight could easily bring him down to earth with HER magic, then imagine what the princesses could do, that is, if they were unicorns, a human princess has much power, so if a unicorn princess, let alone two, took the term 'much power' literally, she MUST have the ability to get him home, so, slowly but surely, John turned himself around so that he was facing the guards, and began to walk forward, the guards noticed this, and they began to smile, one of them said,
"Oh, look who finally decided to listen, now, get in, and NO funny business, or we WILL hurt you!" he exclaimed, opening up the carriage door for him and the other seven, once they were all in, the guards began to take flight, and in seconds, they were flying toward a dark outline, which looked like the outline of a castle.
John looked over the door of the carriage, and saw that they were super high up, if he were to jump out, he could kiss his life goodbye, he just shook that thought of falling from THIS height out of his head, and looked back inside of the carriage, and saw what the others were doing, Twilight was reading a book, Applejack was talking to a bored looking Rarity, Spike was writing down stuff that Twilight was telling him, Pinkie Pie had been excitedly talking to the frightened looking Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash just kept staring at him, like at any moment he would start to strangle somebody, John just shook his head and sighed, he then bent down, picked up his backpack, pulled out an apple and his iPod with headphones, put the headphones on, and hit play on his iPod, this seemed to make Rainbow Dash more interested,
"Hey, what is that?" she asked, but John couldn't here her, he was to busy listening to his music, and every now and then biting into his apple, "HEY, I asked you a question." she said more sternly, but John STILL couldn't here her, in fact, John didn't even think his music was loud enough, and fixed the volume, "Oh, the old silent treatment, eh, I can play that game to." she said, crossing her front hooves and turning her head in the opposite direction . . . but that only lasted for a few seconds, as she quickly turned her head around, and groaned, "Ugh, I can't, please just tell me, I WANT TO KNOW!" she exclaimed, all of a sudden, a guard called back,
"We're here!" which to Rainbow Dash's shock, John gave a nod, before taking off the weird thing over his head, and put it back into his bag, she then gave another groan,
"OH, so you listen to him!?" which John responded by just staring at her for a few seconds, before shaking his head, and pulling his bag onto his back, after a few seconds, they finally landed near a huge wooden draw bride, that was sitting above a moat with a couple of lily pads in it, he then heard a sound which sounded like a metal gate opening, his suspicions were right as he saw a metal gate start to rise, then, two guards trotted outside of the castle, and motioned them to follow, they obliged, and followed.
The castle had three stair cases, one was on the left of the castle near a hallway, and there was one on the right near another hallway, but the third was in the middle of the castle, it was the size of the other two combined, this one wasn't next to hallways, this also seemed to be where they were supposed to go, this staircase had a red carpet going up it unlike the other two, which were just white staircases, after following the two guards up the flight of stairs, they came to a set of giant double doors, which were opened by ponies on the other side, on the other side was a long hallway, that had windows, with detailed art into it, one was what looked like the two princesses, or what he thought were the princesses, were circling around a dragon like creature with a shocked expression on its face, and another with . . . what looked like the six ponies he was with, shooting powerful beams at a large pony which seemed to look a bit like one of the princesses in the dragon one, John tapped on Twilight's back, and pointed to the glasses art, she looked at them, and smiled,
"Oh, those, they are special pieces of art, that indicate important parts of this part of time, and by 'this part of time,' I mean, for as long as the princesses lived, this one is where they fought and won in the battle against, the God of Chaos, Discord, one thousand years ago," she said proudly, John was surprised, one thousand years ago, the princesses were alive, "and this is where me, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy, returned Nightmare Moon back into her former self, princess Luna with the help of the Elements of Harmo-" Twilight was cut off as Rainbow Dash covered Twilight's mouth with her hoof,
"Shhhhhhh, Twilight, don't tell him about the Elements, he might try to steal them." she exclaimed in a whisper, loud enough for John to hear, who just shook his head and sighed, Twilight just glared at her, John looked at the art, and noticed different marks on their . . . flanks?
John looked back at Twilight, and looked at the side of her flank, sure enough, there it was, the mark, John tapped her again, and pointed at her mark, she smiled,
"Oh, that's my cutie mark." she said, John just stared blankly at her, her eyes widened, "You mean you DON'T know what a cutie mark is?" shed asked, he shook his head, the other girls gasped, Rainbow Dash groaned,
"How do you NOT know what a cutie mark is, do you even have one?" she asked, he shook his head again, Twilight then said,
"A cutie mark is a special mark that a filly gets when they discover their special talent, so, how do you know what your special talent is?" she asked, he was about to answer, when one of the guards leading them said,
"Come on, don't fall behind." they obliged, and began to walk again.
At the end of the hallway, was another set of double doors, which were also opened on the inside, on the inside, was a throne room, two thrones lay at the end of the room, two of them were about the same size, one was a little bit taller though, occupying the thrones were two giants ponies, one was a white color with green, blue, and pink hair, which seemed to flow on its own without the wind, and . . . she had both horn and wings, and her "cutie mark" was the sun, she was John's height with her horn, but without it, John had to slightly look down on her, while the other was dark blue, had darker blue hair that also seemed to flow on its own, her cutie mark was a moon, and she also had a horn and wings, she was about four inches shorter then the other one, but taller then the guards and the other six ponies he was with, both of the princesses came down from their thrones, and made their way over to the group, the princesses looked down at the six ponies and Spike, they then looked up at the giant creature that was looming over them, with a blank expression on its face, the white one looked back down at the smaller ponies almost too quickly, like she was avoiding the giant humans gaze . . . after a long moment of silence, the white one looked back up at him and smiled,
"Why hello there, I hope that my prized pupil and her friends treated you well." she said, John just stared at her, and looked down at them, all of them had smiles on their faces, except for Rainbow Dash, who looked irritated, John looked back at her, he just nodded, she sighed, "That's good." she said, John turned his gaze over at the smaller princess, who just stared back, with somewhat of a glare, as if trying to scare him from trying anything, he just stared blankly at her for a few seconds before looking back at the white one, she began to introduce herself,
"My name is Princess Celestia, I am the co-ruler of Equestria, I rule alongside with my sister, Princess Luna." she said, gesturing at her sister, John looked back over at "Luna," and Luna did the same, she gave him a friendly smile, before shouting, in what sounded like how people talked many years ago,
"YES, IT IS TRUE, WE ARE INDEED CO-RULER OF THIS HUMBLE COUNTRY, AND WE HOPE THOU ENJOYS THY STAY!" she was so loud, even her sister cringed, but Celestia seemed a bit surprised when she saw that John had never even blinked,
"I do apologize for my sisters loud tone, she has only just changed back a month ago, and she's still trying to get into modern speech, they did tell you about the story, did they?" she asked, he stared at her for a few seconds, before nodding, "That's good." she said, Twilight then spoke up,
"Uh, princess, we would like to ask, who is this?" she asked, Celestia seemed a bit surprised by the question,
"Oh, I almost forgot, Twilight, I have brought you all here today because of him as you all know, well, the reason why he is here, is because, we believe he will be useful, for what will come." she said simply, John was confused, was she the one who brought him here?
"So YOUR the one who brought him here?" Twilight asked, the princess giggled,
"Yes Twilight, I AM the one who brought him here, you see, I have been watching over his world for quite some time, trying to find someone to help with our situation, I was about to give up hope, when I saw him, I have been watching his actions since he was five, though I never got a chance to get his name, his personality is different from other Humans." she said, Twilight seemed interested, so did the others,
"So his species is known as Human, interesting, but wait, what do you mean by different?" Twilight asked.
"I mean, unlike other Humans, he is calm and collective, why do think he never cringed when my dear sister used her "beautiful" voice, or never screamed when the Element of Loyalty picked him up and flew him up 100 ft. into the air?" She asked, Rainbow's face completely pailed,
"You mean, y-you know?" she asked.
"What kind of princess would I be if I didn't know what was going on in the entire town of Ponyville?" Celestia asked, but she continued before Rainbow Dash could answer, "Don't worry, I know you were just looking after your friends." which made Rainbow Dash's color come back, Twilight then cut in,
"So, what your saying is, he has been fearless for his entire life, so if we put him up against a manticore, he wouldn't even flinch?" she asked, the others gasped, and Applejack said,
"Now Twilight, don't get that extreme now." she said, Celestia giggled,
"Yes Twilight, but, you see that bag on his back?" she asked, everyone looked at his back, and sure enough, there was a black and grey backpack,
"Well Twilight, he is a lot like you, he ALWAYS has a plan, he loves to read, and in that backpack, contains stuff you would need to survive, stuff to keep you clean, food, water, even some clothing, he also has all of his supplies he needs for school in there." Celestia said, Twilight's ears perked up at the mention of school, Rainbow then cut in,
"School? How old is he?" she asked.
"His birthday is on the fourteenth of January, which was six months ago, so . . ." Celestia began to think for a second, then continued. "he's eighteen, is this correct?" she asked John, he nodded, Rainbow Dash cheered,
"YES, I'M OLDER THEN HIM!" Applejack cut in,
"Yeah, by one year, and why does it matter that your older?" she asked, Rainbow Dash stuttered around, but couldn't answer,
"Because, uh, um, you see, well, uh . . ." Applejack just tauntingly smiled at her, while Rainbow Dash just crossed her front hooves in front of her as she flew, Twilight went up to John,
"Do you really have everything you need for school?" she asked, he nodded, she then pulled out a quill and some paper, she began to write down some stuff, before looking up at him and smiled,
"Alright, paper?" John pulled out some paper, "Pencil?" he pulled out some pencils, "Glue?" he pulled out bottled glue and a glue stick, "Alright, last one, a list of things you need for school?" he pulled out the list of supplies he needed for school, and Twilight completely dropped her quill and paper, "Y-your right, Princess." she said, Celestia nodded.
"You see, completely prepared, now, for 'the problem' I keep mentioning, this problem, is something from your world . . . I'm sorry, how rude of me, I forgot to ask, what is your name?" Celestia asked.
John just stared at her for a few seconds, he took in a breath . . .
but before could speak, a guard quickly burst in through the door, he looked terrified,
"Sorry to interrupt your highness's, but we have spotted another dragon, this one is far bigger, and more dangerous!" he excliamed, John was confused, a dragon, but wait, ANOTHER dragon, he knew the world had dragons, like Spike, but adult dragons, the princess looked over at the guard,
"How do you know its more dangerous?" she asked, the guard gasped in some breath,
"Its more dangerous because, its heading right for us, and its wide awake!"
The princesses, the six ponies and Spike, and John, were led up to, what appeared to be Celestia's room, and onto her balcony, on her balcony, was a telescope near the railing of the balcony, one by one, from the princesses to the six ponies and Spike, looked through the telescope, and gasped, John looked through it, and it was confirmed, flying toward the castle, was a giant, blue scaled, dragon, Princess Celestia spoke up,
"Alright Luna, call up all your guards and round them up by the entrance to the castle, I'll do so with mine too." Celestia said, Luna nodded and headed back down the stairs to go summon her guards, Celestia then said, "This is an example of why we need you, we have gotten word from a mysterious mare in a black cloak, that the colony of dragons were gonna attack the castle, but we all thought she was crazy, since we have agreed with the dragons that they could have free access to the "'Gem Mine," if they would stop terrorizing Canterlot many years ago, but, after one of our lead miners reported that the Gem Mine was out of Gems, we began to worry, we could easily make them leave us alone with the promise of another mine, but unfortunately, our other mines have been filled in with water for some unknown reason, we found that odd since there are no lakes or ponds around any of the mines, but the only explanation we could come up with was that each one was connected to an underground lake." she explained, John thought it was highly unlikely that each one would, coincidentally, "be connected to a underground lake," but decided not to question the logic of a world filled with magic.
Everyone's thoughts were interrupted by a loud roar, everyone looked up and saw that the dragon no longer needed a telescope to be seen, in that moment, they all ran down the castle stairs, Celestia stayed behind a bit to gather her guards, they all got outside, to be greeted by Luna and her guards, they all looked up at the dragon that was getting closer by the second.
On closer inspection, the dragon was starting to aim its body at the ground, getting ready to land, right at that moment, Celestia came outside with her royal guards right behind her, one of the guards carried an extra helmet and sword, that specific guard trotted over to John,
"You know how to wield one of these?" she asked, he just shook his head, "Don't worry, its easy." she said, handing (hoofing?) over the helmet and sword, John put on the helmet, and held on to the sword with his two hands, it was a bit heavy, but easy to wield, the guard who gave him the stuff went back over to her spot just in time, as the dragon began to land, one guard shouted,
"Get ready!" right as he said that, the wind from the dragons wings were so strong, it was hard to stand up, then after a few seconds, the dragon finally landed, and let out a deafening roar, then . . . silence.
John looked around, and saw that everyone was completely frozen, the six ponies were terrified along with the baby dragon, all of the guards looked ready to cut off anyone's head if they messed with them, and the princesses looked like John, completely blank faced.
John looked up at the dragon, it looked a little grey around its face, and had a couple of wrinkles under its eyes, it appeared to be an old dragon, it then cleared its throat, and began to speak.
"PRINCESS CELESTIA AND PRINCESS LUNA, AS YOU MAY RECALL, MANY YEARS AGO, YOU MADE A PROMISE, AND THAT PROMISE WAS, THAT IF WE STOP ATTACKING CANTERLOT, THEN WE WOULD HAVE FREE ACCESS TO YOUR GEM MINES, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE MINE IS COMPLETELY EMPTY, AND WE COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THAT YOUR OTHER MINES, ARE FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH WATER, SO, LET US MAKE A PROMISE TO YOU!" the dragons voice could be heard miles and miles away, but the ponies were showing no signs of fear, except for Fluttershy, who looked like she would rather be in bed asleep.
"And just what is this, "Promise," your colony has for us?" Luna asked, the dragon let a chuckle,
"I'M GLAD YOU ASKED PRINCESS!" he said, he then looked down at John and smiled, "OH, AND WHO MAY THIS BE, YOUR NEW PET PRINCESS, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" he asked John teasingly, Celestia growled,
"This "new pet," of mine, just so happens to be capable to stopping you from trying anything!" the dragon then shouted,
"SILENCE, LET HIM INTRODUCE HIMSELF FIRST!"it called, John looked around, and saw that all eyes were on him, he took in a breath, and began to speak,
". . . John . . . my name is John." his voice came out loud and clear, but in a deadpan tone, as if he was talking to somebody he didn't want to talk to, which he was, the dragon let a snort,
"WELL, "JOHN," I DON`T KNOW WHY THE PRINCESSES WOULD THINK THAT "YOUR" CAPABLE OF STOPPING ME, YOUR TOO SMALL, I WOULD CRUSH YOU LIKE A BUG!" he shouted, Luna then cut in?
"What was this promise of your colony's?" she said, the dragon let out another snort,
"WELL, ITS QUITE SIMPLE REALLY, ALL WE NEED YOU TO DO, IS EMPTY THE MINES THAT ARE FILLED WITH WATER, AND WE WON'T ATTACK!" the dragon said, Celestia cringed a bit,
"I-I'm sorry, but we . . . we don't have enough resources to do that." she said, the dragon growled,
"AWWWWWWW, THAT'S TOO BAD, CAUSE WE'RE AWFUL HUNGRY!" he said, he then looked down at John and smiled, "OH, YOU LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE ENOUGH MEAT ON YA TO LAST ME FOR THE TRIP BACK TO TELL MY COLONY THE "BAD NEWS!" he said, picking him up with two fingers and putting him close to his mouth, everyone began to yell at it, yet John made no attempt to struggle,
"PUT HIM DOWN, NOW!" Celestia called, the dragon smirked,
"FINE, HE DOESN'T SQUIRM LIKE I LIKE MY PRAY TO DO!" he said, dropping John, but when John got half way down to earth, the dragon took his tail, and whipped John into the castle wall, before landing on his back on the ground, everyone gasped,
"JOHN!" Celestia called out in shock, but, to everyone's, and even the dragons surprise, John slowly got up to his feet, a cracking sound coming from his back making everyone, even the dragon cringe, John noticed the dragon cringing, and gave a confident smirk, and began to crack one knuckle at a time, making the dragon cringe more,
"STOP IT!" he shouted, but John continued to crack each knuckle, eventually, the dragon looked like he was on the verge of tears, the dragon began to growl, his growl got louder and louder, until finally, his growling was shaking the earth, "THAT'S IT!" he shouted, before breathing fire in John's direction, John barely managed to jump out of the way, "FINE, IF YOUR NOT GONNA COOPERATE, THEN SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PATHETIC LIVES!" he shouted, throwing a punch toward the group of ponies, but they managed to avoid the punch, but the poor castle received a huge hole through it, a guard then called,
"ATTAAAAAAAAAAACK!" and in seconds, all of the guards, John, the princesses, and the six ponies with Spike, began to attack.
The princesses, Twilight and Rarity, and a couple of guards, were shooting powerful spells at the dragon, all of the pegasi were flying around its head, attacking its head and every once in a while, shouting a witty comment at it, and the earth ponies were either bucking its feet, or slashing a sword at its feet, John was hacking and slashing at its feet, even Spike was helping, he was using his tail like some sort of jack hammer, and hitting its feet, the dragon then shouted,
"FOOLS!" he then stomped on the ground, stunning everyone, except John, who just kept slashing at his feet, which was then interrupted by a giant foot nearly squishing him, the dragon then knocked the stunned pegasi to the ground, and kicked the earth ponies into a group, so now that his attackers were in one group, he leaned down, and he breathed a wad of fire at them, they just barely dodged the flames, "HOLD STILL!" he shouted, breathing more fire.
John had to think of a plan, and fast . . . John noticed that when the dragon leaned down, he had a type of tunnel vision, in which, the dragon was only focused on one thing at a time, so he had an advantage with that, he then remembered that, the neck, was one of the weakest points of a body, one swift karate chop to the neck, and you could die, it was risky, but he had to try it.
The dragon drew in another breath, before breathing more fire, John dodged it, and went in the opposite direction of the group, the dragon didn't notice, and kept his flames on the ponies and Spike, he sneaked his way under the dragon's head, pointed the tip of the blade at the dragons neck, and with one hard thrust, jabbed the blade into the dragons neck, the dragons eyes widened, and he began to flail around, his head swinging violently, and when the dragon's neck was in John's reach, John pulled out his sword, and stabbed it into the dragon's neck, the dragon was trying to gasp for breath, but the air that he sucked in was escaping through the two holes in his neck, and so was his blood, John pulled out the sword again, and with the hardest thrust he could muster, he stabbed the blade right into his neck again, the dragon's flailing began to slow down, and he started to look tired, with one final attempt for air, the dragon began to topple over, and John began to run as fast as he could . . .
but his running was cut short as the dragon toppled, and his jaw landed on top of John's legs . . .
And everything went black.
