Understanding it does not mean I can Control it
An unwelcome return to Equus
Previous ChapterNext Chapter-Third person - Canterlot
The world of Equus is filled with magical energy, thus there is bound to be an excess somewhere. In most cases the ponies of Equestria will break into song and dance to relieve some of this magic excess that is in the air. This is one of those times. A small dragon child and a purple unicorn, to be precise. Running towards a train, the end of their song was approaching as they neared the train.
Oh no she wasn't
Oh no I wasn't
Oh no she wasn't
No I wasn't
Prepared...for this!
The personal student of Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, and her assistant, a child dragon named Spike, made their way towards their friends on the train. They were heading for the Crystal Empire.
-Third Person - Celestia and Luna
The Sisters watched as Twilight Sparkle and her friends, the embodiments of the Elements of Harmony, raced towards the Crystal Empire. If they had been more alert, they would have noticed a Flare lit up above the Everfree forest. Celestia and Luna turned and walked back into the castle, intending to go about their usual business.
"Excuse me? Your Majesties?" An old unicorn with the cutie mark of a notebook, General Written walked up to the Sisters as they left Celestia's balcony. The Sisters turned to see the pony they had tasked with making sure all of the castles artifacts, statues, and other various things of importance were in their right places.
"Have you completed the count of the artifacts?" Celestia questioned the stallion. He fidgeted a bit under the gaze that the Sisters gave him. It was very important that all the items were in their places. If some of them fell in the wrong hooves…
"Y-yes Your Majesty. All b-but one item has been c-confirmed to be safe." The Sisters began to get nervous, but only Luna showed it. Celestia, with millennia of practice, maintained her composure. After all, just because it wasn't catalogued doesn't mean it was missing.
"A statue m-marked to be in the maze gardens. I c-can't find a trace of it." General stuttered out, nervous about announcing this news. Celestia fidgeted, remembering only one statue there, a draconequus, and nervously spoke.
"The… Chimera statue?"
"N-no Princess. I looked t-through the old records, a statue labeled the Uncontrollable Flame is supposed to be there b-but it's not." At his words Celestia visibly calmed down, but Luna tensed. Knowing Luna would want to know why that certain statue was missing and that she did not need to worry about it, Celestia told the stallion she already knew and that it was fine, and motioned for him to leave. The stallion's attention, however, had drifted away from Celestia. General Written's jaw was slightly lowered, and he was gazing, seemingly, behind the Sisters. There was nothing behind them, Celestia and Luna knew this, and thought the stallion had overworked himself.
"General, perhaps you should-" Luna started to tell the stallion that he should go rest, perhaps get something in the royal kitchens, but General Written interrupted her. He lifted his hoof, pointing behind them out the window. Turning around, wondering what could cause the stallion to interrupt the Princess in such a manner.
The Everfree was ablaze. Normally the Sisters wouldn't give it a second thought, as the Everfree was home to no pony, and they could not Control the weather there. The Sisters hesitated, and gave it a second look. Flames danced skyward from one spot, a would be beautiful display were it not setting a forest ablaze. These intense flames, this Inferno, was coming from their old castle, where a certain statue resided.
A roar was heard, emanating from the spot where the flames did. With the roar came speech, but the words were lost on the Sisters and the old unicorn. The Sisters, however, knew what must have made the sound.
So, for the first time in a millennia the Sisters launched forward with great speed, out the balcony, flying faster than the Wonderbolts themselves, for they had seen this brilliant display once. Only two beings ever known to the Sisters could command such Power over flames. Celestia herself, and a strange minotaur like creature, that they had all but forgotten about. If he has truly broken free of the statue, and he is vengeful, they might be in danger, for this time… This time they do not have the Elements.
- First Person - Aran - The castle of the Royal Sisters
I regained consciousness, but I could not move, I felt frozen. Cold, like I was in the middle of a tundra. That wasn't right, I shouldn't be cold because... because... I can't remember. It's always been that way. Trying to open my eyes I found that I couldn't. I could still see but my eyelids wouldn't move, when I opened my 'eyes' I 'saw' why. I was petrified, literally a statue. I was in a small room, or at least what seemed to once be a room. Rubble was everywhere, only rotten furniture clued me in that this was once some kind of trophy room. How did I end up like this? I 'looked' towards my feet and saw the Sol Blade. The convention! I found and bought the replica Sol Blade and went to exit the shop...Red, falling, dancing with flames. I 'looked' over to the far wall where some tapestries still hung, seemingly unaffected by age, unlike the rest of the room.
One tapestry was white and had a Sun mark, the other purple and a crescent Moon mark, and then something in my brain connected. Ashes, a rainbow, winged unicorns, Day and Night. Before that there was the same red dancing flames form before, and the same feeling of falling. Before that was Weyard. I remembered it all in that moment. I had been ripped from my home and put in some winged unicorn's forest, and accidentally set it ablaze. They condemned me and 'shot' at me with a rainbow of some sort, ripped away my memories and put me on Earth. Then I was thirteen, and now I'm twenty, and angry. I could now feel my Psynergy again, and once more I had some Understanding. I'm older now, and I have some Control.
With this Power, new found bits of Control and Understanding, I would get my revenge. Tapping into my Psynergy reserves, I brought forth the power of Mars, flames, an Inferno. My attack broke apart the room with it's intensity and flowing into the sky. My stone prison began to crack and melt apart. I let loose a cry of rage as I freed myself.
"The winged unicorns of Day and Night to you I swear! I will have my revenge!"
Stepping down from the pedestal I was on, I grabbed the Sol Blade. Whereas before I thought it a good replica from a game, I now know it's real, and I came from the land of Weyard. I had some Understanding, small amounts of Control, and I had Power. I felt within me so much Power. I had a goal, revenge. For ripping my from my home and wiping my memory. First, I had to escape the rubble filled room, my Inferno had not left a clear exit.
I let loose another cry of rage as I swung my Sol Blade at the nearest wall, and it unleashed one of it's hidden Powers Purgatory. A massive wave of fire hit the wall, and the wall was turned to ash. I rushed out of the building into a small clearing in the surrounding forest. I turned around to see what building I had been in, and saw it was a huge castle that lay in ruins. I looked around to gather my surroundings.
In the distance I saw a titan of a mountain, with a large castle hanging of the side. How is that even possible? Closer than that, I could see two figures moving at an alarming speed towards the castle. They probably saw the Inferno I unleashed. I made to go hide further into the forest, I was feeling weak from exerting myself. The more I thought about what they did to me, and how I just knelt there and accepted it, the more angry I got. At myself, and them. I was feeling so very angry, I didn't notice I was losing what little Control I had. I realized too late my emotions were getting out of Control, and the attack SuperNova was unleashed, destroying and lighting fire to the forest around me.
