Chapter 47: Spoken words
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI sprinted forward and swung, promptly receiving a strong kick in the bollocks as she nimbly ducked and rolled out of the way. I now staggered blindly in pain as a hand clutched to my likely bruised bean bag and gave an attempt to hold up against her. She was a few inches behind me and I back handed my fist in the direction. She caught it in her hands and I lurched my arm forward to me. She ending up pulling herself in for a shattering headbutt and stumbled back dazed. I swung at her with dire speed only to be caught and have my wielding arm twist around and and open an handed chop land on my chest, knocking the wind out of me. I kicked at her and landed a blow to her stomach, losing her grip.
I swung again and she narrowly moved out of the way and I instead managed to give her an uneven haircut. She took the opening and spun about with a high round house that connected with my jaw. Blood and spittle sprayed out form my mouth and I used the pull back of it to recoil and punch with my free hand. I struck her in a lower cut and she nearly dropped. I swung again with my sword upward. She saw it come and jumped back and out of the way.
I dove in swinging madly and she continued to evade every consecutive slash and deliver another quick hit. I finally decided 'fuck it' and opted to fisticuffs. I circled around her with my hands up in fists boxer style and let out a quick jab. She followed suit and blocked with her forearms. I let out a flurry of combos, but only hit with about six of them. Of coarse, this is my dream so I'm not gonna get off easy.
I uppercutted, breaking her block and proceeded to wail onto her with the pent rage I had built up on site of her. Punch after brutal punch hit her and even then she still held firm. With her face bruised and blood trickling from her nose she defiantly fought back. She gave everything as she mercilessly lashed out blow for blow. I put in some effort to duck and weave but still ended up taking a sneaky boot to the berries or a crafty back hand-stun combo. Almost half an hour had passed and we both weakly swung and fought on. The hits becoming less frequent we both panted and voiced ourselves.
"Why don't...you just...give up?" She breathed blocking my punches and delivering her counter.
"I'm not giving up...not on...her and not against...you." I gasped.
"It's all...pointless you know...you can't always be there...to save her." She panted trying to break me down.
"I don't care...I'll still fight...until she's safe...Whether it be you or some other fuckhead!" I yelled
"Why? You know you'll fail...one day you'll slip up and that's that." She said snappily.
"Because I feel her...I feel what she feels...I care and she cares...I'll be damned if the one person I love is gone! I'll be sure to not stop until your dead you crazy bitch!" I said with a quick snorting puff and the hilt came back to my hand.
I nearly jumped to her with it raised over my head, ready to to cut her down like a tree. She readied and a gave swift punch forward. I stopped dead in my tracks, I couldn't move any further. Her fist was now buried into my chest and pulses of agony and strain came with every beat of my heart. Her other hand moved freely behind her and slipped out a large knife from seemingly no where. She plunged it forward toward my neck.
"Monkey!"
Marrow popped into existence in front of me and the knife sunk into him.
"Marrow!"
I mustered every ounce of strength I had and brought the glowing blade of the sword down, slicing through her arms and managing meager distance between us. Her amputated arm arm still deep in my chest and her other one limply hanging onto the handle of the knife in Marrow who had dropped to the ground. I held the weapon straight out and plunged it into her. The length of the blade pierced through her gut and burned in place.
She gave out a silent gasp and a look of surprise.
"James..." She spoke in a soft resentful voice.
"Yeah?" I wheezed.
"I'm...sorry."
"... I forgive you." I said truthfully, moving the blade horizontally out.
Her innards spilled out onto the ground with a wet smack and she fell forward with a relieved smile onto me. I dropped to my knees, my eyes blurring and fell to my side on top of her.
My eyes slid open lazily to see the shadowed space of my room. The sun narrowly gleaming through the edge of the shades on my window. The thin line of light shined down along Twilight's soft face as she lie next to me. I pulled my arm up around her in a tight embrace and allowed myself to be swept with the fond warmth I felt in my chest. She stirred and gave a silent yawn. Her eyes opening and revealing the same brilliant amethyst they held. I stared lovingly into them and knew there wasn't a single thing in the world that could make me stop have my feelings for her.
