My Little Frozen
Chapter 12: On A Journey
Previous ChapterApplejack and the others woke up in the hotel room ready for a new day.
"Are you guys ready to leave?" Applejack asked slowly starting to get out of the hotel room bed. Rainbow Dash nodded and went to wake up the other ponies. Applejack and Rarity were sleeping next to each other. Rarity hogged most of the bed, but that didn't matter to Applejack. At least they all got a good nights sleep. Rainbow Dash slept with Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy.
Applejack tried to wake up Rarity. Shaking her body all Rarity mumbled was "Let me sleep a few more hours. A lady needs her beauty sleep." Pinkie Pie was already awake with energy as usual. Fluttershy slept like a baby, smiling in her sleep. Then Fluttershy mumbled something that Rainbow Dash didn't understand. She was talking in her sleep. Rainbow Dash nudged Fluttershy awake.
"You know you smile in your sleep right?" Rainbow Dash asked knowing that some kind of reaction would come out of Fluttershy, Fluttershy blushed and used her hair to hide her face. Rainbow Dash couldn't help but grin.
Applejack tried to wake up Rarity again this time taking a different approach. She whispered something into Pinkie Pie's ear. Pinkie Pie went over to Rarity's side of the bed. Took in a big breath of air and yelled, "WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!"
"Wah!" yelled Rarity, falling out of her bed. "You scared the heck out of me!"
Kristoph and Sven were laughing their butts off. Applejack stifled a laugh, but couldn't keep it in.
"You should have seen the look on your face!" Rainbow Dash said, Rarity laughed with them. She did think it was pretty funny.
Everyone got ready to leave, Applejack gave back the keys to Oakie, but before they left Applejack purchased five pairs of snowboots for their journey into the mountains. Sven and Kristoph already had a pair of snowboots with them luckily and went to get their sled.
"We'll meet you guys up over there. We'll just slow you down," said Kristoph with solemnly tone to his voice.
"No you won't! Stop being so negative. We can take our time. I'll pull the sled." Applejack offered and there was no disagreements. Kristoph had a look of surprise. Never had he seen a girl pull a sleigh and make it look like she was pulling nothing. He was more on the lines of astonished.
She pulled the sled upwards towards the mountain and she moved with ease.
Applejack pointed to the mountain with a cave located inside it. "That's where we'll stay for the night."
They nodded their heads in agreement and continued forwards.
They walked upwards for hours and occasionally taking breaks every few hours or so. Rarity complained the whole way even though there really was no mud that could get on her feet. The ground was covered in snow by six inches. Applejack rolled her eyes and sighed. This was going to be a long day.
-- The Cave --
Rarity sighed with relief, "Were finally here!" she exclaimed as she entered the cave, her voice echoing. They were all sweating from the long journey up to their destination for now. They hoped to find Twilight soon.
The sun was just now setting down into darkness. Applejack took in some big breaths and wiped the sweat from her forehead. Rarity got a small battery powered fan from her knapsack she was carrying and turned it against her letting a cold refreshing air hit her face. Even though there was snow on the ground it doesn't mean you could work up a sweat.
They all eventually settled down and made a huge sleeping palette in the middle of the cave. they used their sleeping bags and covered everyone nicely. "I have a feeling we'll be at Twilight's in no time! I can sense shes here somewhere close by." Rarity assured Applejack and gave her a dainty pat on the back.
"So anyway why are you looking for this Twilight friend of yours?" Kristoph asked nicely. He looked at everyone awaiting some kind of response to his question, but there was a long silent pause.
Applejack cleared her throat and answered, "We need to find her because she is an important pony and friend to us. It feels awkward without her." Twilight's friends nodded in agreement.
"Ah I see. So your like a group without your captain." Kristoph said, wondering more about the team of six ponies. "How important is she and what could be so bad that she would run off into Arendelle Territory?"
Applejack had a look of confusion for a moment. "What do you mean by Arendelle Territory?"
Kristoph pointed outside to the mountains and all around it. "This is what used to be of Arendelle. It was taken over by a Princess named Eris. She wiped off Arendelle entirely by a terrible ice storm. The houses were wiped off by the storm and all of its inhabitants except me, Sven and Oakie. We were lucky enough to hide underground where it was safe. My parents died during the storm."
"Well that's terrible!" Cried Rarity. They all rolled their eyes at her. "What?" Rarity asked looking all innocent.
Pinkie Pie snuck up behind Rarity and whispered her her ear softly, "You know what you did!" ,and slowly moved back to her spot next to Rainbow Dash. Rarity shuttered at the sound of Pinkie Pies voice. Pinkie Pie could make her voice sound threatening and creepy at the same time. It was almost eerily creepy and with them being in a cave it made the atmosphere seem darker.
They all covered up in their blankets slowly closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep. You could hear the rustle of the blankets and it soon died down.
Fluttershy tossed and turned in the covers trying to close her eyes. She was not tired. She slowly got up from her covers and looked outside of the cave. She needed something to do. Something that will satisfy her need for rest. Maybe I could look for twilight. she thought to herself. She looked at the night sky. Noticing all the constellations in the sky. She remembered that Twilight loved looking at constellations. She smiled at the night sky.
Snow cloud were starting to form in the distance, followed by the wind picking up. The breeze brushed against her face. Her body shivered against it. She was not used to this cold weather. She covered herself with a blanket and walked outside of the cave.
The botom of the blanket was son covered in snow as Fluttershy moved across the mountain. Slowly, but surely she loked around the mountain looking for any sign of Twilight. She noticed something shiny behind the mountain. Fluttershy turned her head towards the shiny object noticing that the shiny object was a ice castle made entirely from ice. Anypony could have missed it. It was hidden right behind the mountain, so it looked like nothing was there at all.
Fluttershy was satisfied with herself and would tell her friends in the morning. She trudged her way back into the cave and quietly made her way back into her covers sleeping besides Rarity.
-- Eris's Past --
I've been stuck cooped up in my room for some time now. My father is still angry at me. I hate having to stay in here every day and every night of the year. Theres nothing to do besides sitting inside here and playing with my toys, but I want to be with Anita. My sister who loves me. A memory reminds me that I can't hurt Anita again. I won't hurt my sister EVER AGAIN.
She always comes knocking at my door asking me 'Do you want to build a snowmare?' But it brings me back to that terrible day when I froze her head.
I want to have fun with her, but I don't want to be the cause of the trouble. My father is mad enough at me as it is. I don't want anything bad to happen.
The wooden door slowly creaks open and I see my mother walk in. She is a beautiful mare with long straight brown hair and tail. Her eyes are the color of a beautiful blue sky and her skin is a nice cream color. She looks at me worriedly. Noticing snow covering the hole entire ground of my room. "Are you all right Eris?" She asks sweetly, making her voice calm and considerate. She breathes calmly and puffs of cold air escape from her mouth. The room is supposed to be a moderate temperature, but due to my powers it made the room cold and rigid.
Mother wants to have one of our daily talks together. We do this everyday to make sure I'm not feeling depressed. Its nice to talk with her. She makes the day seem brighter. I make some room for her by scooting to the edge of my bed. Scooting the frost off the sheet of my covers. Making sure mom didn't sit in snow.
She closes the door and sits right beside me. She gives me a warm comforting smile to cheer me up. I smile back at her. "You can tell me anything," she assures me, "Has anything been troubling you lately, besides being cooped up in here?"
I avoid her face letting her know that something is wrong. I look downwards at the snow covered floor. It used to be a nice sturdy wood flooring. "I'm guessing you probably know my powers are getting stronger. Its becoming uncontrollable. Just look at what my powers are doing to my room! I've turned it into an ice prison that I'll be spending the rest of my life in!" I yelled and pointed to my room which was turning into a disaster.
Snow covered the entire side of my room and stretched across the walls like frost covered wallpaper. Mom gave me a look of concern. She had every right to be concerned about this. "You can control this," she said, and got off the bed and headed towards the door. "You just need to practice your power. Learn more about it and learn to control it. I have faith in you Eris. Tomorrow I'll take you somewhere in the castle and let you practice and learn about your powers. I'll be with you every step of the way." She promised me and headed out the door.
