Chapter 2

A way to go

Twilight got her bag and took in the lunch spike made for them.

They were leaving the library when spike was following.

When Twilight noticed that, she turned around and faced to spike.

“Spike, I know you really want to come with me and Applejack. But I think the place we go could be very dangerous, so I think it is the best when you’re staying at the library.”

“Oh, come on Twilight!” Spike groaned.

“I’m sorry, spike” she answered when the little disappointed dragon went back inside the library.

Twilight and Applejack started to go through the marketplace. They were looking around and saw some worried ponies around, talking about the appearances of last night.

Voice1:

“I don’t know what happened but my friend Cloudchaser disappeared. I was searching for her everyplace she’d normally is but nothing-“

Voice2:

“Oh my, that’s terrible. I’ve heard that even the Wonderbolts should be disappeared.”

Twilight and Applejack came a bit closer to talk with them.

Voice1:

“Oh, the princess. Please tell us what happened last night!”

Some more ponies from the marketplace were coming closer and surrounded Twilight.

“Well, I don’t know. The information came to me in the morning. I can’t say what happened. That’s why we have to find it out” twilight told them.

“Allright sugarcube. Ah think we’ve got ta’ go, ta’ find out what happened” Applejack said.

They two started to leave the marketplace. Many eyes were following them until they disappeared.

Twilight and Applejack were going in the direction of the everfree forest when they stopped in front of it.

“I hope nothing bad happened to them” Twilight said.

“Ah’ guess they’re fine.” Applejack said, but the look she did was telling Twilight that these words were more hope than certain.

They started walking into the Everfree forest.

“So where do ya’ wanna go?” Applejack asked.

“I don’t really know where we should start, but I think I have an idea who could help us.” Twilight said.

With this the two ponies went inside the forest…

It felt like they were walking for hours now.

“Ahm gettin’ tired Twilight, can we get some break?” Applejack Asked.

Twilight nodded “OK, I think we were walking long enough.”

The two ponies found an old tree trunk lying at the side of the way.

They two sat down on it when Applejack started talking to Twilight.

“Uhm, Twilight?”

“Yes?”

“Where exactly do we wanna’ go?”

“I’m not sure if she could help us exactly, but when there does someone knowing much more about the forest then us, it is Zecora” Twilight answered.

Suddenly they heard a strange noise not far away from them. It was a terrible howling.

“Did ya’ hear this?!” Applejack said a little bit scared.

“No,” Twilight responded “I heard noth-“ Twilight was stopped by an even louder voice. “Ah don’t know what this is but ah’ think it’s coming closer” Applejack told her.

Suddenly a big creature jumped in front of them.

“Timberwolves!!!” Applejack shouted, jumped up and started running.

Twilight was following her, but it seemed that she was not as fast as Applejack.

The creature was coming closer and closer.

“Twilight run faster!!!” Applejack shouted.

“I CAN’T!” Twilight responded.

Then it happened.

Twilight got hit by the Timberwolf’s claw.

“TWILIGHT!” Applejack shouted when Twilight hit the ground.

She ran back as fast as she could.

Now she was standing there, protective before Twilight, watching eye to eye at the Timberwolf. “Nopony threads mah’ friends like this!” Applejack shouted at him.

The Timberwolf started growling at her.

Applejack started running and shouted “Come an’ get me!”

The Timberwolf started hunting after her.

Applejack ran as fast as she could. When she looked back, the Timberwolf was very close to her. (Oh no, I have ta’ knock him out before he gets me!) She thought, as she saw two trees that were very close to each other. She was rushing into their direction.

The Timberwolf was coming closer and closer.

*BANG!*

The Timberwolf stucked between the two trees. He tried to free himself but it didn’t worked.

Applejack was rushing to Twilight, helping her to get up.

“Are you allright, sugarcube?” she cast a worried look at Twilight.

“I think I’m OK” Twilight answered.

She has had many scars and was bleeding, but there was not much time. Nopony could say how long the Timberwolf would stuck at the trees.

The Sun was about to go down when they reached Zecora’s tree.

Applejack knocked at the door. It was opened by the zebra.

“What had brought you two here, you look like chased by the bear.” Zecora looked at them and let them come into her house.

Now while they were safe, Applejack took a closer look at Twilight.

“Oh mah’ gosh, Twilight, you’re bleeding”

Twilight looked at her back when she realized three big bleeding scars.

“Zecora, could ya’ do somethin’ ta help Twilight?” the orange pony looked worried at Zecora.

“The hurt looks bad, let me see what I have” she answered.

Zecora went to a box. She took out some bandages of it and went to Twilight.

It took some time. Zecora was dripping some mysterious liquid at the scars and wrapped the bandages over it.

After she finished her work, she asked them what happened.

Applejack told her everything about the Timberwolf. When she was done, Twilight started to talk to Zecora.

“Well, but we were coming to you for another reason.” Twilight started. “Something terrible happened.” Twilight took some sips from a tea Zecora gave her before to calm her down.

She continued “Last night there was some terrible fog that appeared everywhere. And now all pegasi seemed to be disappeared…”

After telling Zecora everything, she started: “Well, this fog last night was strange. But where it came its ways. The mountains were the place, the fog was just released”

“So we have to go to the Mountains?” Twilight asked.

“Yes, but not now. Your body needs his rest, it is the best, you stay at night. Otherwise creatures will just bite!”

It sounded like a warning from Zecora. She was right. There were some dangerous creatures out there in the forest, especially at night.

“Well ah’ think we should stay. It’s the best. Especially for ya’ , Twilight.

So Twilight and Applejack decided to stay there at night.

What would wait for them at the mountains? Are Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy still alive? Twilight thought much about it until she felt asleep.
