Chapter 3

Far away

It was a very silent morning when Twilight got up. She felt a little bit weak since the incident from last day. When she went out of bed, she realised that Applejack had been lying in front of her all the night.

“Applejack, wake up!” Twilight softly tipped her hoof at Applejack to wake her up.

“Huh? Oh mornin’ Twi” Applejack yawned.

“Have you been up all night?” Twilight asked.

“Yeah, I was worried about ya’ so I couldn’t sleep” Applejack said.

Zecora was already awake and brewed some kind of coffee.

“Good morning. Get something to drink, before you think about your journey” Zecora gave Applejack and Twilight a cup full of the substance she brewed.

After they finished drinking they started to talk about their destination.

“Well, now we should talk about our way. I’ve read something about all the dangers in the Everfree forest” Twilight talked to Applejack.

“Allright sugarcube, what is your plan?” Applejack answered.

“Well, I think there’s one path you have to find, so keep in mind”.

Zecora told them how they get to the mountains fast and safe.

“I think it is time for us to go now. Clock is ticking” Twilight said, when they went to the Door.

“Thank ya’ for yer’ help, Zecora” Applejack said, as they left the Tree.

“You are welcome!” Zecora said with her accent when she closed the door.

Twilight started to go into the direction Zecora told them before. Applejack followed her.

“So do ya’ think they are ok!?” Applejack went to Twilight.

“Well, I can’t say you. But I hope they are Ok”.

Applejack nodded. She will not think about what could happened to them and if they could ever find them again.

It was a long way they both walked since one hour now.

“Hmm, that is impossible! There should be an intersection but there is nothing.” Twilight said confused.

“Do ya’ wanna’ say ta’ me that we are not on the right way!?” Applejack yelled at Twilight.

“I’m really sorry AJ, but I think, we’ve lost our way” Twilight said.

Applejack came closer to Twilight and gave her a hug.

“Don’t ya’ worry Twilight, we will find the right way” Applejack answered her.

“We’ve ta’ climb onto one of the trees to see in which direction we’ve ta’ go”

Applejack started climbing onto one of the trees.

“Be careful, Applejack!” Twilight shouted up the tree. She wouldn’t see Applejack falling down and get hurt.

“Don’t ya’ worry Twi” Applejack answered when she reached the top of the tree. When she looked around, she saw the big mountains in one direction.

It was pretty far away and they would have to walk there for hours.

After she had seen everything, Applejack went down the tree. When she touched the ground, Twilight went to her and checked if she is ok.

“I’m allright Twi. We have ta’ go in this direction” Applejack putted her hoof up and showed in one direction.

They started to walk there.

They were walking a long time without saying any word.

Then they came to a very small and instable looking suspension bridge.

When they walked closer to it, they saw a hundred meter deep canyon with a wild river inside it.

“Uhm Twilight?”

“Yeah Applejack?”

“Do ya’ think this way is really safe?”

“Let’s hope so”

Twilight started to walk to the bridge. She came closer and putted her right hoof onto the first wooden plank.

“It seems to be safe” she answered.

Twilight started to walk over the Bridge. Applejack started following her.

They walked very carefully and slow because they didn’t know how stable this Bridge would be. They’ve already passed over the half when it happened.

*CRACK*

“Aaaaah, Twilight!”

One wooden plank cracked when Applejack went over it.

Now she was hanging there, Holding herself with here forehooves.

“APPLEJACK!” Twilight shouted and started rushing to her.

“I can’t hold mah’self any longer!” Applejack shouted.

“Take my hoof!” Twilight screamed.

But it was too late. Applejack slipped off and started falling.

She closed her eyes and started screaming but then she was stopped by something.

Applejack opened her eyes and looked around.

Twilight was performing a spell that stopped Applejack from falling.

She brought her to the other side of the canyon and layed her down on the ground.

Applejack was in a shock state when Twilight ran towards her.

“Applejack! Are you allright? Don’t do this again!” Tears ran down Twilights face when she looked at Applejack.

“I- I’m allright, Twi. Thank you” Applejack answered.

Twilight started to hug her. Applejack wiped down the tears of Twilights cheek.

“I don’t want to lose you” Twilight said to her when tears began to roll down her face again.

“Don’t cry sugarcube, Ahm’ ok. We should go now”

They both got up and started to walk into the direction of the mountains.

“You’re right, Applejack. We have to find our friends. I hope they’re ok”

And with this they both went to the way.

After two hours they were standing in front of the Mountains.

“And now?” Applejack asked.

“Well, Zecora told me that the Mountains have a big cave inside and so we have to find it.” Twilight answered.

“Allright, then we should go an’ find it” Applejack said.

They two went to a small path that was going up to the mountains.

“I think we should go up this way, I can remember Zecora was saying something about it.”

“Allright, then let’s get to it” Applejack answered.

They followed the path up until they stopped.

“Oh no, how can we get around there” Twilight started to take a closer look at the tree which had fallen on the path.

“Step aside Twi, this could get dangerous“

Applejack started to buck at the tree as it began to roll down to the ground.

The path was now free and they both could resume their trip.

As they came to a platform at the middle of the Mountain, they saw the big entry of a cave in front of them.

“I think we’ve found the cave” Twilight said.

“Well, let’s get into it.” Applejack answered.

They both started to walk into the cave until they disappeared...
