Chapters Crystal Feather was sitting at her Golden Oak desk that was saved from the aftermath of Twilight’s home, working on her latest story, “It’s A Love Story.” Crystal was feeling a little heartbroken after what had happened a few weeks ago, she was dating a Pegasus stallion with the name of Rumble. He begrudgingly told Crystal, “There is another mare in my life that can commit. Can we still be friends?”
Being her kind self, she said that they could, while inside it was tearing her apart. The only thing that she could’ve looked forward to that day was writing and nothing more. Stardella had come to her house to comfort her, but none the less, nothing Stardella did helped Crystal in anyway.
Soon, there was a knock on her door, Crystal Feather got up from the desk and opened the door. There stood Stardella with two tickets floating by her head.
“What do you want Star? I’m still having trouble coming to sense that Rumble isn’t mine anymore.” Crystal informed.
“That’s what I am here for. Crystal, you NEED to get out of the house and meet some pony new. I have a job at the local theatre here for a new play, I got you a pass to come to the back of the theatre with me.” Stardella explained.
“I’m not going.”
“I thought that you would say that, that’s why I’m dragging you there.”
“Fine I’ll help. But if I see anything that reminds me of Rumble, you better take me home!”
“Promise.”
Stardella grabbed Crystal by the hoof and literally dragged her to the theatre. Stardella signed in so then she was getting paid to set up the play. The both of them were holding a sign when Crystal heard a familiar voice.
Damen?
Crystal Feather seemed to be in a trance, she wasn’t moving, and she was just staring out in a distance.
“Crystal?!” Stardella snapped.
Crystal shook her head getting out of her trance, “I’ll be right back Star. I hear a familiar voice, and I want to clarify if it’s my mind playing tricks, or if it is real.”
“Don’t go too far Crystal.”
Crystal walked towards the voice that she heard; down the halls to the dressing rooms, Crystal found a golden star with Damen’s name on it. Crystal knocked on the door, soon being opened by the white unicorn with a cinnamon brown mane and tail.
“Oh my Celestia Crystal you’re here?!” Damen greeted.
“Uh, hi Damen… Uh… Yeah, hi.” Crystal responded.
“What are you doing here, wouldn’t you be at home writing?”
“Well, I had just gone through a break up and I was in my house for too long. Stardella just dragged me out to get me to at least be out of there. She’s setting up the play here. Are you in the play?”
“Yes, but I only have a couple of lines to say. It isn’t Romeo and Juliet, but it gets the money in.”
“Oh…”
There was a long silence in the group. Crystal was in a trance, Damen was Crystal’s high school crush years ago, but she could never talk to him normally. She knew him back in elementary school, but never really liked him at all. It was the opposite between the both of them, Damen would trot up to Crystal and her friend¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ Stardella; but then would trot away as he tried to speak to Crystal. Then in High School Crystal was that way, she couldn’t talk to Damen at all without squealing.
“Were you going to stay for the play tonight?” Damen ended the silence.
“No, I wasn’t planning on it. I have my writings to do, but I could stay if you want me to.” Crystal responded.
“Well, I could get you and Stardella a ticket with special seats and a special meet.”
“That would be cool Damen. Thank you.”
“No problem Crystal, it’s what I would do for an old friend.” Damen blushed.
“I have to go back to Stardella, she must be thinking about me right now. It was nice to see you.”
“Nice to see you too Crystal. Can’t wait to see you tonight.”
Damen closed his dressing room door and Crystal went back to Stardella with a smile on her face.
“What happened while you were gone?! You have a smile! Did you meet a stallion?” Stardella asked.
“Damen is here in the play and he has invited you and I to watch him in special spots and we get to go backstage!” Crystal responded.
“That’s amazing Crystal. I think some pony likes you.”
“No he doesn’t. I’m not like him, I’m too shy to even be on a stage. I can’t be like him.”
“Crystal, not every pony that dates has to be the same. There might be some kind of connection between the both of you that neither of us can see, but he can. Yes Damen is an actor, but you love him for that, and you write. He might like that about you.”
“I wouldn’t worry about it Star. I don’t think he is into a not famous pony like me.”
“If he says that he likes you at some point in your life, don’t say that I didn’t tell you so.”
Crystal Feather rolled her eyes, “Do you still have some stuff to do?”
“No, I’m all finished here Crystal, you can go home.” Stardella responded.
Crystal left the theatre and went home to prepare for the night. Dressed in a beautiful satin gown and her mane all dolled up.
Nightfall came, Crystal headed back to the theatre and waited for Damen at the doors. Soon he came around the corner and saw her.
“Glad you could come Crystal. Where is your friend Stardella?” Damen asked.
“She couldn’t make it, I tried to get her to come, but she wouldn’t” Crystal lied.
“Well, okay then, I’ll give this ticket back to my boss so then he could raffle it off. Come with me Crystal.” Damen grabbed Crystal’s hoof, “I’ll take you to your seat.”
Damen’s holding my hoof! Could Stardella be right?
Damen lead Crystal to the stage where there was a comfortable chair with a wonderful view of the performance.
“Is this where I’ll be sitting?” Crystal asked.
“Yes, I made sure that you get the best seat in the house. I explained to my boss what I wanted for you, and he made it happen.” Damen responded.
“Thank you Damen. Can any pony see me?”
“No, no pony can see you. I remembered that you are shy and told him to position it to where no pony could just see you.”
Crystal smiled, Damen knew that she didn’t like being seen by other ponies, and how shy she was.
“Damen! 5 seconds to curtain!” Damen’s boss snapped.
“Coming!” Damen responded, “I have to go Crystal. Enjoy the show.”
“I will Damen, thank you.” Crystal responded.
Damen trotted away and Crystal sat down at her spot. Watching the play, it was a wonderful little play. Not like the ones that Damen did back in high school, but they were good.
When the play ended, Damen went on the stage and looked out into the audience.
“Thank you all so much for coming tonight, we do appreciate it. But there is one more thing that I want to do. I want to ask my friend Crystal Feather to come up on the stage and stand next to me. I’ll protect her.”
Crystal froze! Damen was looking straight at her, waving her to come. Crystal followed by slowly getting on the stage, standing beside Damen.
“This is my friend Crystal Feather, she is an amazing writer. But has never had any of her stories published, but as the publishers all say that her stories are no good, they are good stories. They can’t see the quality in the stories that she puts in them. Anyways, I want her to sing with me.”
One of the actresses in the play handed Crystal a microphone and trotted away. Crystal looked out into the crowd and saw the plethora of ponies in the theatre. Damen wrapped his hoof around Crystal’s neck.
“Don’t worry Crystal, I’m right here for you.” Damen whispered into Crystal’s ear.
The music started, Damen started to sing.
[Fluttershy (male voice)]
[doo-wop-style scatting]
[The Ponytones]
[harmonizing]
[Fluttershy (male voice)]
Trot outside and you see the sunshine
Something's in the air today
Sky is clear and you're feelin' so fine
Everything's gonna be a-okay
[Toe-Tapper and Torch Song]
If you listen carefully
On every corner there's a rhythm playing
[Toe-Tapper and Rarity]
Then it happens suddenly
The music takes you over and you'll
[The Ponytones]
Find you've got the music
Got the music in you
Find you've got the music
Got the music in you
[Fluttershy (male voice)]
Oh, o-o-oh
Everypony's sayin' you should learn to express your voice
But if talk doesn't seem like it's the answer
[The Ponytones]
Luckily you have a choice
When you find you've got the music
Got the music in you
Find you've got the music
Got the music in you
Got the music, got the music in you!
Crystal looked out into the crowd after the singing stopped started to calm down from her nerves. The crowd stomped their hooves on the ground chanting, “Crystal and Damen!”
Crystal Feather smiled, then quickly trotted off the stage.
“Wait Crystal I have something to tell you!” Damen yelled galloping towards her.
When Damen reached Crystal, she looked at his eyes, “What do you want Damen?”
“I just want to tell you what I should’ve told you a long time ago.”
“What?”
Damen placed his hoof onto Crystal’s face and kissed her on the lips, “I have had a crush on you for a long time. You may think that this is so ridiculous of me, falling in love with a writer. Ever since the third grade, I have always loved you Crystal. I just never had the guts to say it. I bet you now that you hate me.”
Crystal grabbed Damen’s hoof, “I’ve had a crush on you since the beginning of high school.”
Damen smiled, “You should get home Crystal. Can I have dinner with you in a couple of weeks?”
“Sure. I would love that.”
“Then it’s a date Crystal. I just want to say that, I would love to be the stallion of your dreams, I just hope I’m the right one for you.”
Crystal smiled and then trotted out into the night, on her way home. When she got there, she grabbed her phone and called Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was the only mare that she could trust to help her out with love.
“Hello?” Rainbow Dash answered.
“Hey Dashie, its Crystal.” Crystal responded.
“Hey squirt! How’s life going for you?”
“Well, I have met another stallion. I can’t even explain to you how much I love him. It’s like an indescribable kind of love spark.”
It was within a few weeks since Crystal and Damen’s engagement, Crystal was on her way to Crystal University where Mrs. Snapple was, she called Stardella and Harmony Wing to come to the University so they could hang out. Little did they know what the meeting was really for?
Upon arriving at the school and into Mrs. Snapple’s classroom, and her being inside.
“Crystal! What are you doing here?” Mrs. Snapple asked.
“Why can’t I just come and see you Mrs. Snapple?” Crystal responded.
“Oh, well I would like a hoof for a second if you don’t mind Crystal.”
“Oh yeah I can help you.”
Crystal helped Mrs. Snapple put a big poster over the board in her room. Mrs. Snapple looked at Crystal’s wing and noticed the diamond ring.
“No…” Mrs. Snapple randomly informed, “It can’t be.”
“What?” Crystal asked.
“You have a ring on your wing… Did Rumble ask you to marry him?”
“No, it’s not Rumble Mrs. Snapple, he’s too much of a douche to even be mine.”
“Well, then whose the stallion?!”
“Can we wait until Stardella and Harmony get here?”
Mrs. Snapple groaned, “Fine.”
The both of them talked about Doctor Whooves, and life in general until Stardella and Harmony arrived in the classroom. When they made it there, Crystal stood right beside Mrs. Snapple’s desk.
“I have something wonderful to tell you all.” Crystal announced.
“What is it Crystal? Did you get a story published?” Harmony asked.
“That’s one of them, but it’s something more magical.”
“Spill the beans Crystal! What’s so exciting?” Stardella snapped.
Crystal opened her wing with the diamond ring, “I’m getting married.”
“WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!” Harmony and Stardella both snapped.
“Who’s the stallion?” Mrs. Snapple asked.
“Damen.” Crystal answered.
“Not the stallion that you had a crush on for all of high school!” Harmony snapped.
“It is him, he asked me to marry him not too long ago.”
“Where is he?” Stardella asked.
“He’s gone for a play for a couple of weeks. But once he returns, he and I are going to plan our wedding. I was going to ask you guys if you would like to be a part of it.”
“I would so do it!” Stardella said, “I’ll be the maid of honor!”
“That’s what I was thinking. And then if you two want to do it, you’re already the bridesmaids.”
“Totally!” Mrs. Snapple and Harmony responded.
******
Today’s the day, the day Crystal Feather would tie the knot with the sweet and loveable Damen. Crystal picked out the most beautiful dress that she could handle wearing for a few hours. The dress had lace across her torso, the dress wasn’t pure white; it was almost like a cream color.
All dressed and ready to go; Mrs. Snapple, Harmony, and Stardella trotted into the bride’s dressing room, eyeing the beautifully dressed Crystal Feather, holding her crystalized flowers and wearing her sparkled veil.
“Are you ready Crystal?” Mrs. Snapple asked.
“Can I be alone with you and Stardella for a few minutes?” Crystal asked.
Harmony left the room. Stardella wrapped her hoof around Crystal and sat down beside her. Mrs. Snapple sat on the other side.
“What’s wrong Crystal?” Stardella asked.
“I’m not sure about this anymore.” Crystal responded, “I love all of this, it’s just that, I’m not sure how the road ahead of me is going to look like.”
“Are you afraid that Damen is going to leave you?” Mrs. Snapple asked.
Crystal nodded her head, “I just don’t know.”
“Crystal that will be in the future if it happens. Don’t let it worry you now. If he asked you to marry him and he commits. Then he shouldn’t leave you.”
“But how do I know?”
“Love…” Stardella explained, “Two lives, two hearts joined together in friendship united forever in love.”
“Stardella has a point Crystal.” Mrs. Snapple added.
Crystal smiled, “Thank you Star and Mrs. Snapple. I don’t know what I would do without you two.”
“You’d probably be dead!” Stardella informed.
“If you ever have a problem with Damen, or have a problem in general, don’t hesitate to call either or both of us.” Ms. Snapple explained.
“I won’t forget.” Crystal responded.
“Come on girl, your new adventure is out there waiting for you.” Stardella said.
Crystal got up from the couch and went to the alter doors; Mrs. Snapple, Stardella, and Harmony were in the front of the line, soon leaving Crystal behind. Her uncle grabbed her hoof, and slowly took her up the isle when it was her turn.
The wedding went on and on; soon came the chance that Crystal and Damen could say their vows.
“If I had to choose between loving you and breathing, I would use my last breath to say I love you.” Damen read his vow.
That’s all he said, that was enough for Crystal, she knew that he loved her and she loved him. Here came her turn.
“Ever since you stepped into my life… You’ve filled it with; Love, warmth and lots of precious moments… Sweetheart… You are the best thing that ever happened to me! I love you Damen!” Crystal read.
Crystal and Damen stared into each other’s eyes, making an invisible love spark seem almost visible and strong.
“I now pronounce you, Damen and Crystal Feather, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” The priest said.
Damen didn’t hesitate to grab Crystal by the waist and dip her into a kiss. Crystal kissed back, feeling the embrace. The families of the two newlyweds stomped and cheered, as they trotted down the aisle into the coach pulled by two stallions.
The reception was just as wonderful as the wedding.
“May I have your attention please?!” Mrs. Snapple yelled out.
Every pony looked at her, “I don’t feel so good…”
Mrs. Snapple dropped to the floor behind where Crystal and Damen were.
“Mrs. Snapple!” Crystal yelled galloping towards the passed out mare.
Mrs. Snapple’s husband came galloping over as well, picking her up off the ground and putting Mrs. Snapple on his back, he said thank you for inviting them, and trotted away.
“There always has to be something that goes wrong in a wedding, there was yours.” Stardella informed.
“I know. I just hope that she will be okay.” Crystal responded.
“I know that she will be okay.”
“I know that too, but it never hurts to always make sure that she is okay and still alive.”
“True.”
Inside the coach taking the new couple to their acquired honeymoon place that they chose. Crystal fell asleep during the trip, leaning against Damen. He sat there letting Crystal sleep in the position that she wanted to be in.
When they arrived, Crystal was still sound asleep, Damen picked her up and placed Crystal on his back, carrying her to their room. The bellhop pony grabbed their bags and followed Damen to the room.
“Is this place okay sir?” the bellhop asked.
“Yes, thank you kindly.” Damen handed the bellhop his tip, and placed Crystal on the bed. Starling her awake.
“Oh, hey Damen. Where are we?” Crystal asked.
“We’re at our hotel room, you slept all the way here. Don’t worry everything has been taken care of.”
“Thank you Damen.”
“So, what do you want to do Crystal?” Damen asked.
“Well, since that we are now a couple; I think that it would be a good thing that we make it count.”
“Are you hungry?”
“Yes, I am. But what are we going to eat?”
Damen got up and went to the little kitchen at pulled out a small container. Opening the lid with his magic, out came some ingredients for peanut butter and grass sandwiches.
“You’re going to make those?!” Crystal asked.
“I remembered that you would bring these every day in your lunch in high school.” Damen responded.
“Yeah, I remember that. That was the only thing that I could possibly eat at ten in the morning.”
“Why don’t we just go back and have this just for tonight, and I’ll make some things that you may want every day.”
“Okay, I can help you make these.”
Crystal and Damen worked together making Crystal’s favorite sandwich in the whole world, sat down and watched TV. When they finished, Damen grabbed Crystal’s plate, but didn’t make it to the trash because he was stopped by Crystal grabbing him by the hoof.
“What is it Crystal?” Damen asked.
“I know one thing that would make this whole honeymoon count. You and I can go into the room and have some fun time in the bed, as now husband and wife?”
Damen looked at Crystal, then pounced on her kissing her. Crystal kissed Damen back, trying to make this count. Damen slid his hoof down his front, touching Crystal’s tip of her crotch. Crystal kind of pushed Damen to the floor, causing him to fall on his back.
“Did I do something wrong?” Damen asked.
“No buddy, you didn’t do anything wrong, this would be better with you on your back so then I can prepare you for the best.” Crystal answered.
“What are you going to do Crystal?”
Crystal started touching the tip of her tongue on the end of Damen’s dick. Soon leading to having her whole mouth filled with Damen. Crystal slowly went back and forth with the dick in her mouth filling Damen with pleasure.
He grabbed Crystal’s head, Crystal stopped, looking at Damen in the eyes. He pulled Crystal away from his dick.
“Do you want me to fuck you?” Damen asked.
Crystal got into the position for Damen to get on top of her and fill her with pleasure. Damen followed the notion, getting on top of Crystal getting his dick into her ready to have sex vagina.
Slowly going back and forth inside Crystal Feather filling her with love and pleasure. Gradually getting faster and faster making Crystal and his own breathing get heavier and heavier. Then when he felt the cum coming out, he went hard on Crystal making her stop breathing for a few seconds, her vagina filling with cum.
Soon, Damen released himself from Crystal causing cum to spill out onto the floor. Damen sat down on the floor away from where it was, his dick sticking straight out. Crystal turned around, putting her vagina onto Damen’s straightened dick causing her to groan with pleasure.
“You’re not finished?” Damen asked.
Crystal didn’t respond, she squatted down and then raised up. Soon repeating the process, squatting, then raising, squatting then raising. She gradually got faster, soon spilling out cum all over Damen. Grabbing Damen’s head, she put his horn into her mouth.
Damen let out an electrical charge having pleasure fill him as well. Soon, Crystal let go of Damen’s head and horn; falling to the floor in pleasure.
“Are you happy Crystal?” Damen asked.
With the energy that Crystal had left, she nodded her head.
That night, Crystal went to bed enjoying her night; Damen was feeling the same way. Little did Crystal know, she set herself up for a new addition in her life?
After their two week honeymoon, Crystal and Damen returned to their homes, Crystal was moving out of her tiny apartment to live with Damen, half a block away from where she was. The good thing about it was that Mrs. Snapple lived in the same area, and Stardella was moving there because of a new job opportunity there.
Crystal Feather’s waist was a little larger than what she had remembered. Crystal was packing up all her stuff so she was ready for her move. Soon there was a knock on her door.
Who could that be? I don’t remember calling any pony.
Crystal opened the door, only to see a dark blue Alicorn mare at her door.
“Hey Stardella! What are you doing here?” Crystal asked.
“I just came to see you, but also to help you. I just noticed that you look like you have gained some weight there Crystal.”
“Do you think so?”
“I’m being honest Crystal. Do you think that you’re pregnant?”
“Why would you think that?!”
“Think about it Crystal! You look like you have gained weight, and Damen has been telling me that you always want to have your sandwiches! Something about it doesn’t seem right.”
“Star, I’ll go see my doctor tomorrow after I move out from here, and Damen can possibly take me. If not, I’ll either get you or Mrs. Snapple.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
Stardella and Crystal worked together to finish up the small apartment to get Crystal out and to Damen. That night, Crystal was with Damen in their new home. And like she promised to Stardella, Crystal made an appointment to see her doctor.
That afternoon the next day, Crystal and Damen went to the doctor’s office. Sitting in the waiting room, Damen’s phone rang. Damen grabbed his phone and trotted outside to take the call. It seemed important.
What could possibly be going on?
Soon Damen came back inside the room, “I’m sorry Crystal that was my boss. He wants to see me now. I called Stardella and she is on her way.”
“It’s okay Damen, I’ll see you later then.” Crystal responded.
Soon Stardella showed up and Damen left the waiting room. Crystal started to tear up.
“What’s wrong Crystal?” Stardella asked.
“It’s just that I am so scared, I don’t think that I am pregnant, but being that I have gained some weight! Plus, Damen’s boss is taking him away from me when I need him most. I just, I’m so confused and scared.” Crystal explained.
“It is okay, Crystal. I’m right here for you. All that happens to you today, I’ll make sure that Damen knows about it. Maybe I’ll have a little talk with him.”
“Don’t worry about it Star, I’ll just try and get used to it.”
“Crystal Feather?!” one of the nurses called.
Crystal and Stardella got up, Stardella stood beside Crystal as she sat down on the bed.
“What’s going on with you Crystal?” the doctor asked as he entered the room.
“Well, as of recent events that have happened to me, I want to take a test for pregnancy. I think that I am.” Crystal responded.
“Let’s go ahead and take this for you.”
The doctor did his thing, telling Crystal and Stardella to go home and wait for the call. Stardella took Crystal home and waited there until Damen returned home.
“CRYSTAL I’M HOME!” Damen called.
“Down here!” Stardella responded.
Damen entered the room with a wide eyed mare holding the phone in her hoof. Breathing deeply, Crystal looked at Damen, then at Stardella.
“What did he say?” Stardella asked.
Crystal looked at her stomach and placed her hoof on it. Then looking back at Stardella, with tears in her eyes. Stardella knew what it was, Crystal was pregnant. She wrapped her hooves around Crystal.
“Oh my Celestia!” Stardella cheered.
“What?” Damen asked.
“Damen, you’re going to be a father.” Crystal responded.
Damen’s eyes widened as big as hers was when Crystal found out. Damen wrapped his hooves around Crystal and started to cry. Damen and Crystal were going to start a family. Soon there was a knock on the door.
“I’ll get it for you Crystal.” Stardella said.
Damen didn’t let go of Crystal, he was too over joyed, knowing that he was going to have a mini him. But then he started to feel scared; could he be the best father for this little foal? How could he be there for the foal when he was always on the road? What could he do? Will Crystal be okay?
Stardella and Mrs. Snapple came down into the room, Mrs. Snapple looked at Crystal with surprise in her eyes.
“Stardella told me that you have something to tell me?” Mrs. Snapple questioned.
“Mrs. Snapple… I’m pregnant.” Crystal responded.
“Oh Celestia!” Mrs. Snapple groaned.
“Let me guess, you think that you have to be there for this foal?”
“Well, I’m happy for you, but I don’t want to be the one that takes care of it if you die!”
“Mrs. Snapple I won’t die early. Geeze, I’ll only have you, Stardella, or Harmony watch her when I have to go to my publisher’s office and Damen gone.”
“So, one of those things.”
“It’ll only be a few hours, and I’ll train them to be kind. Unlike some pony in your family.”
“Fine, you better.”
“Don’t worry. I promise.”
Mrs. Snapple, Stardella, Damen, and Crystal all hugged each other in happiness. Damen and Crystal were going to be parents; Stardella and Mrs. Snapple were emotional support.
6 weeks later; Crystal was still growing in size and Damen hadn’t left the house yet for a play. Damen was working hard trying to keep Crystal happy. Like, whenever Crystal would have her morning sickness spell, he would be there to hold her mane back and comfort Crystal; then he would deal with Crystal’s mood swings that would randomly pop up out of nowhere.
Damen and Crystal were sitting in the living room watching the television when the phone rang.
“I got it Crystal.” Damen said.
He got up and went for the phone. Crystal still sitting on the couch placed her hoof on her stomach. Petting her stomach, there was some pressure going on in her, Crystal rubs it to help her keep calm.
“Crystal!” Damen called.
Crystal got up from the couch, quickly trotting to the room where Damen was.
“What’s wrong Damen?” Crystal asked.
“You remember my dream being that I wanted to be in the play Romeo and Juliet?” Damen asked.
“Yes, I remember.”
Damen grinned in happiness, Crystal knew that kind of grin from anywhere. Damen got an audition for the play.
“No.” Crystal’s eyes widened.
“Yes, I got an audition to be Romeo in that play!” Damen responded.
Crystal wrapped her hooves around Damen with tears in her eyes.
“How much will you get if you get the part?” Crystal asked.
“A lot of money was what I was told.” Damen answered, “He didn’t tell me.”
“I’m happy for you Damen.”
“Crystal? Is there something wrong?”
“Well, I won’t be able to come to this one. With all the pressure I have, and am having, I think that if you were to fly that pressure would make this hurt much more. And I believe that if I were to ask my doctor about it, he wouldn’t let me.”
“But, what are you going to do while I’m gone? Who’s going to take care of you?”
“I’ll see if Stardella or Mrs. Snapple will keep a sharp eye on my. Well, maybe only Stardella because Mrs. Snapple has to work.”
“But I won’t be there for you and the baby. I want to be here, but I also want to live my dream.”
“Don’t worry about me Damen, you’ll be back soon, right?”
“Not for the next 7 months. It’s all around Equestria Crystal.”
Crystal sat down on the floor, tears filling her eyes.
“I could not do this audition for you and our unborn child.”
“Don’t do that Damen; you should go live your dream. I’ll watch you on the television every night. I promise, trust me Damen. The baby shouldn’t be born while you are gone. If it is, I’ll call you and let you hear the baby’s voice. And it’ll be here when you return.”
“But, who is going to help you through the birth?! Stardella is squeamish, Harmony is too lazy to even come, and depending on the time of day Mrs. Snapple can’t come.”
“Damen, it’ll be okay. Stardella will be there as long as she doesn’t see the extra stuff, Mrs. Snapple would possibly stop and help me, and Harmony will get up to help me too. Come on. If not, my mom or your parents would come and help me. I have plenty of ponies that can help me.
Take the job Damen. I’ll be fine here.”
Damen nodded his head, “I’ll go to the audition, and you better pinkie promise that you will be perfect when I come back.”
“I promise you Damen. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.”
The very next day, Damen left for Manehattan for the first showing of Romeo and Juliet.
“Hello?” Stardella asked over the phone.
“Hey Star, could you come over? I need your help, I need to talk to some pony. Call Mrs. Snapple too if you can.” Crystal answered.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’ll tell you and Mrs. Snapple when you get here.”
Crystal hung up the phone, she sat on the couch, with tears in her eyes. Soon there was a knock on the door, Crystal got up and opened the door.
“Is this some kind of mood swing for you Crystal or do you really need to talk?” Stardella asked.
“I really do need to talk.” Crystal responded.
Mrs. Snapple, Crystal, and Stardella went into the living room and sat on the floor.
“What’s going on Crystal? You look tense.” Mrs. Snapple
“It’s Damen, He’s been gone on his part in Romeo and Juliet, I watched the one last night, and he wasn’t there. I’m scared, I don’t know if he was killed, or he’s drinking cider on the side of the road, or if he could be on his way home. Where could he be?” Crystal cried.
“Why do you say that exactly?” Stardella asked.
Crystal turned on the TV, the play happened to be on and the colt playing Romeo, wasn’t Damen. Stardella and Mrs. Snapple’s eyes widened. Soon there was a knock on the door, then the sound of keys going into the lock of the front door.
“Stardella, get back! Go! In the corner, come on!” Mrs. Snapple ordered.
All three of them went to the farthest corner of the room they were in and hid. Stardella had her hooves wrapped around Crystal and Crystal had hers around both Mrs. Snapple and Stardella. Soon the door opened, Crystal’s body tensed up, the baby was kicking hard, seeming to know that its mom was scared.
“Crystal! I’m home! It’s Damen.” Damen called, “Where are you?”
Crystal was about to answer when Stardella covered her muzzle.
“SHOW YOURELF!” Mrs. Snapple yelled.
Around the corner came Damen with his bags surrounded by his magical charge.
“What are you doing here Damen, you were supposed to be gone for another month!” Crystal snapped.
“I was, but I told the director that I had a pregnant wife at home. He didn’t want me to leave, I refused to continue. So he fired me and sent me here, I’m home to stay now.”
“But your dream!”
“My dream wouldn’t be complete without you there.”
“Did you still get paid the money?”
“For what I did, yes. We now have 280,000 bits in the bank.”
“Wh- what?!”
“Yes, and I made it all for us. Our unborn foal, for you, and for me. Mainly for you and the foal.”
Tears streamed down Crystal’s face, soon wrapping her hooves around Damen.
“I’m so glad that your home.” Crystal cried.
“What are you guys going to do first? You know, you being back and all?” Mrs. Snapple asked Damen.
“I’m just happy to be back with my wife. Thank you two for taking care of her while I was gone.” Damen responded.
“Um, Damen. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. It’s that time that we get to see our little foal.” Crystal informed.
“I’ll take you. If my boss calls me, during it. He can wait for me to call him back.”
Crystal smiled; Damen was home, and he was going to be a dedicated father.
***
The very next afternoon, Damen woke up early, comforted Crystal through her morning sickness, and then got her to the doctor.
“Damen, I’m scared.” Crystal informed.
“What’s wrong?” Damen asked.
“I’m afraid that our foal might not be alive. I’m afraid that this foal might not be accepted by you.” Crystal answered.
“Crystal… Don’t worry about it. Number one, I would take whatever foal that we have, he or she will be unique in their own way. And number two, if you weren’t pregnant anymore, something wouldn’t seem right, and you would know about it.”
“Crystal Feather and Damen!” Nurse Redheart called.
Damen got up, held out his hoof, and help Crystal up and down the hallway.
“The doctor will be with you soon.” Nurse Redheart said.
“Thank you.” Damen responded.
Damen helped Crystal onto the bed and laid her on her back.
“Ah, Miss. Feather. Nice to see you again.” The doctor greeted.
“No, it can’t be? Doctor Whooves?” Crystal said.
“Yes, I can see that you have had your hooves tied in busyness lately. What are you doing here?”
“Damen and I are here to see our little foal.”
“Wait, you’re not?”
“Yes, Damen married me almost a year ago, and then I found out that I was pregnant 6 months ago.”
“Ah, I just came to see you, and how you were doing. Your doctor will be here in at least a minute. See you soon Mrs. Feather.”
“See you doctor.”
The doctor left the room, and of what he said, the doctor that was caring for Crystal came into the room a minute later.
“Are you two ready?” he asked.
“Yes.” Damen and Crystal said at the same time.
The doctor put the goo on Crystal’s stomach, and placed the ultrasound wand on it, revealing the inside of Crystal. The doctor moved it around, searching for the foal. Minutes go by and Crystal started to get worried, but her worries were receded when there, on the screen, revealed the small foal.
Crystal and Damen gasped, there it was, their little creation, alive and healthy.
“Do you want a picture of her?” the doctor asked.
“She?” Damen asked.
“You’re having a filly.”
Damen wrapped his hooves around Crystal, a little filly… He wanted a little girl, he didn’t want his first foal to be a colt. Crystal hugged him back, she was happy too.
“We’ll take one doctor.” Crystal answered.
“I’ll get it sent and ready to print soon.” The doctor informed, “You two can go home. I’ll call you when it’s here.”
“Thank you.” Damen responded.
The both of them went home happily. Crystal called Mrs. Snapple and Stardella telling them the great news. The both of them congratulated her in the life of a new filly to be born soon.
“Damen! Come here!” Crystal called.
“WHAT?! IS THE FOAL COMING?!” Damen snapped.
“Not yet Damen! Put your hoof on my stomach. It’s okay, you can feel the filly.”
Damen trotted up to Crystal and held out his hoof, Crystal grabbed his hoof and placed it right where the filly was. The foal kicked, letting her father know that she was there, and awake. Damen’s eyes widened, he looked at Crystal, then looked back down at her stomach. Then the phone rang.
“I’ll get it.” Damen groaned.
Damen left the room and Crystal laid in the bed in their room.
“I can’t do it. My wife… I know that you are the only way that I could fulfill my destiny… Yes… But… Alright fine, I’ll take it. Bye.” Damen argued in the phone.
Damen trotted back into the room with a sad look on his face. Crystal looked at Damen.
“What’s wrong?” Crystal asked.
“I have to go to a dinner play tonight, I just randomly got a part there.” Damen answered.
“Is it just for the night?”
“It is, but what happens if the foal is born!”
“She won’t be born a month early, believe me Damen. If she does come, I’ll have Stardella call you.”
“I’ll go, but the whole time, I’ll be thinking about you and our filly.”
Crystal rolled her eyes, knowing that Damen was becoming over protective of her and the filly. That afternoon, Damen left to rehearse for the play that night; Crystal called Stardella to take her to the doctor for the final time, before the filly was going to be born.
“Crystal Feather!” Nurse Redheart called.
Crystal and Stardella followed the nurse to the room, and waited a few minutes for the doctor to come in with the ultrasound.
He put the goo on Crystal’s stomach, and moved the wand around searching for the little filly; nothing. Crystal started to get worried, it never took the doctor this long to find the foal, and he was an expert.
“I’m sorry Crystal, I can’t seem to find your little foal. I guess that she might have not survived. I’m sorry dear.” The doctor informed.
Crystal looked at her swollen stomach, and teared up, she was gone. How was Damen going to react when he found out that the filly was gone? Stardella wrapped her hoof around Crystal and rubbed her back.
“It’s okay Crystal.” Stardella comforted.
Crystal grabbed Stardella and balled her eyes out, she lost her first filly. That was it; or so she thought.
Stardella took Crystal home and stayed there with Crystal, making sure that she was okay while Damen was out. Stardella called Mrs. Snapple and Harmony Wing, letting them know that the filly was gone, and Crystal would like some comfort. They both came to the house, comforted Crystal and gave her some words of encouragement.
Late that night, Damen trotted into the dark home, all the ponies were asleep. Stardella was on the couch in their living room asleep, Mrs. Snapple and Harmony had left earlier in the evening, Damen went down the hall to find Crystal. There she was in the bed, but she was wide awake, tears in her eyes.
“I have to tell you something Damen. It’s about the filly.” Crystal informed.
“Wait, I have to show you something first. I had been working on it for a while now. Come on!” Damen responded instead.
He grabbed Crystal’s hoof and took her to the spare bedroom. Showing her the room that he decorated, painted, built, and sculpted for the little filly. Crystal was amazed by this, but all of Damen’s hard work was going to waste.
“Don’t you like it?” Damen asked.
“I love it Damen, but…” Crystal paused trying not to cry, “I went to the doctor today to check on the filly-“
“Oh she must be so healthy!”
“DAMEN! Listen to me please!”
“Why? When I know that she is alright and will be born soon.”
“THE BABY’S DEAD DAMEN!” Crystal snapped.
It was loud enough that it woke Stardella up in the next room, she quickly got up from the couch and ran to the yelling.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S DEAD?! SHE WAS IN PERFECT HEALTH WHEN WE HAD THE LAST CHECKUP?!” Damen snapped.
“IT WASN’T WE! IT WAS ME AND STARDELLA, NOT YOU! THE FOAL IS GONE! YOU HAVE BEEN A LOUSY FATHER!” Crystal snapped.
“It’s not my fault that I have a good running job and you don’t!”
“GUYS!” Stardella yelled trying to get into the middle, “STOP IT! YOU TWO LOVE EACH OTHER, NOT HATE!”
“Oh yeah! At least I don’t travel to all the sides of Equestria to be in a silly play! I get to be at home, wake up when I fucking want to, and use my fricken imagination!” Crystal snapped.
Stardella was trying to stop Crystal and Damen from punching each other in the face, and tried to calm them down.
“Why did I marry, and have sex, with a little filly so full of herself!” Damen snapped.
Crystal gasped, slowly trotted away, and then galloped out the door. Stardella looked angrily at Damen.
“You went a little too far there Damen. I hope that she can find the courage to forgive you.” Stardella informed.
She left the room after Crystal, trying to find the pregnant mare. Soon she found Crystal, sitting in front of Mrs. Snapple’s home, her head in her hooves, and shaking. Stardella went up the devastated Crystal Feather, and wrapped one hoof around Crystal. She looked up and saw Stardella, pushing her away, Crystal scooted over a few inches from Stardella and continued to cry.
“Crystal, I know what Damen did to you was wrong, well, he was kind of an ass about it. But, listen to me Crystal, I’m here for you and the foal, Mrs. Snapple would possibly be there too, as well as Harmony, Black Ninja, Angel, Timeless; all your friends will be there for you. Trust me…” Stardella explained.
Crystal lifted up her head, and grabbed Stardella by the neck, almost chocking her into a hug. Stardella didn’t tell Crystal to let go, she knew that this was Crystal’s way of saying, “I need your help.”
“Come on Crystal, let me take you to my place.” Stardella stood up and lifted Crystal using her magic.
Stardella took Crystal to her home, and put her in the bed while Stardella slept on the couch. She knew that Crystal would be more comfortable in the bed. As soon as Stardella started to fall asleep, she heard a noise coming from the room, the door slamming closed. Stadella quickly got up and galloped to the door.
“Crystal, is everything okay in there?” Stardella asked.
“There seems to be something going in but I’m so scared! Come in Star! Please!” Crystal yelled.
The door was locked, Stardella backed up from the door, galloping towards the door, and she opened to door, breaking the piece of wood there. Crystal was on the floor heaving.
“Crystal! What’s going on? Are you okay?” Stardella snapped.
“I don’t think that I am, I suddenly awoke with this huge pain in my lower abdomen and then it stopped, and then came back. Stardella I’m scared!” Crystal answered.
“I’ll get an ambulance!”
Stardella used her magic to levitate the phone to her face. Calling the local rescue team to take Crystal to the hospital. Crystal started to feel the pain again and started hyperventilating.
“Crystal stay calm for me.” Stardella ordered softly.
Stardella breathed slowly and calmly with Crystal, trying to keep her awake. Crystal felt a twinge in her stomach and felt the urge to push.
“Don’t Crystal, you might make this thing worse!” Stardella snapped.
“I can’t Star, I feel like doing it, it hurts so much!” Crystal snapped.
Soon the ambulance ponies came inside and to Crystal.
“Is she pregnant?” one of the stallions asked.
“She can’t be, she found out today that the foal had died!” Stardella responded.
“Well, she’s about to have something here. Quickly, we need to get her to the hospital.” One of the ambulance ponies ordered.
“Are you a part of her family?” another stallion asked.
“Yes.” Stardella responded.
“Come along then ma’am.”
Stardella followed the stallions out to the ambulance coach, holding Crystal by the hoof. She looked to her left and saw Mrs. Snapple standing there confused. Soon they were inside the coach, Stardella sat at Crystal’s head and the stallion not driving was at the other end of Crystal.
“Star, I’m frightened.” Crystal informed.
“You need to calm down Mrs. Feather, you don’t want your foal to have high blood pressure and possibly die.” The stallion informed.
“WHAT?!” Stardella snapped with Crystal’s head raised up.
“I see a foal’s head coming out. You’re having a foal.”
Crystal’s eyes widened, the foal was alive?!
“Crystal, you need to push this foal when you have a contraction. And your wife-“
“I’m not her wife, I’m her sister. Her husband is being a total douche at the moment.” Stardella interrupted.
“Anyways, your sister here is going to be here at your head, giving you support.” The stallion attending informed.
Crystal looked at Stardella, she nodded her head, Stardella grabbed Crystal’s hoof.
“I’ll help you out Crystal, trust me.” Stardella informed.
Soon a contraction came up on Crystal, she breathed heavy.
“Just breathe.” Stardella encouraged.
Crystal slowed down her breathing, staring up at Stardella in pain.
“Come on Mrs. Feather, push.” The stallion ordered.
Crystal started to push, squeezing Stardella’s hoof. Soon blowing out her mouth, Crystal stopped pushing. After the third push, the contraction ended. Crystal looked at Stardella.
“Call Mrs. Snapple and Harmony, tell them what’s going on.” Crystal tried to say.
Stardella grabbed out her phone and called Mrs. Snapple and Harmony, in the midst of the calling, another contraction came.
“Do you hear that Mrs. Snapple?” Stardella held the phone to Crystal.
Crystal was pushing, soon softly screamed out in pain, “Ow!”
“It’s okay Crystal, just keep calm and push.” Stardella encouraged hanging up the phone.
Crystal pushed hard, trying to get the filly out. Soon there was this excruciating pain right where the foal was, soon going away.
“Head’s out Crystal, you are almost there.” The stallion informed.
Crystal pushed one last time, soon feeling that immediate relief of comfort once again. Arriving at the hospital just as the foal was born. There was no crying, no noise from the little foal. Crystal started to get nervous; what was going on? Why was the foal not crying?
“Take her to the doctor’s now!” the stallion that was taking care of Crystal ordered handing another one of the stallions the filly.
“What’s wrong?!” Crystal snapped.
“She’s not responding at the moment, we need her to respond. Let’s get you to a room and settled in. You need to relax.”
Stardella and Crystal went into a room, and waited. Crystal soon fell asleep from all the action going on. Mrs. Snapple and Harmony came rushing into the room. Stardella got them to be quiet so Crystal could sleep. Damen never showed up.
“Harmony, can I see you out in the hallway for a second?” Stardella whispered.
Harmony looked at Stardella and followed her into the hallway, “What do you need Stardella?”
“I need you to drag Damen here to see his foal, if he refuses, I give you the permission to knock him out for at least a few minutes so then he will be awake when he gets here. I’ll take care of him.”
“I’ll do it, for Crystal.”
“That’s what good friends do.”
“DAMEN! OPEN THE DOOR!” Harmony yelled on the other side.
“Why should I when I know that my wife is out there upset with me! I shouldn’t have snapped at her! HOW DID I TURN INTO MY FATHER?!” Damen snapped.
“Damen, open the door for me, we can talk about this, and then I need to take you to the hospital!”
“Why? I’m not it pain, except for my heart.”
“Crystal’s in the hospital with your filly, who is alive not dead!”
“Liar! Crystal told me herself, the foal was dead. And it was all my fault. I should’ve been there for her all this time. But, she doesn’t understand why I left her all the time.”
“What do you mean Damen?” Harmony opened the door and looked at Damen straight in the eyes.
“I was out on those roles all the time because I wanted to get a lot of money for us. All of my paychecks were going to her and the little foal. I wanted the foal to have the best life, better than mine was. But, Crystal was right, I was not there enough.”
Harmony was silent for a long time.
“Damen, Crystal is at the hospital waiting for you to explain to her what was going on. She just needs to know that you’ll be there for her and the foal.”
“Why do you keep saying Crystal and the foal?! She’s dead!”
Harmony pulled out her little camera, looked up the picture that she had of Crystal, and handed it off to Damen. He took the camera from her hooves, staring at the picture. Eyes widened and mouth opened.
“You’re foal is alive. She’s alive Damen; she wants her father. Crystal wants her husband.” Harmony said.
Damen looked up at Harmony and smiled, dropping the camera in Harmony’s hooves. He got up from his pool of tears and galloped off to the hospital.
Soon making it to the hospital, he slammed the door open, startling Crystal and Mrs. Snapple.
“Damen?” Crystal asked.
“Where is the foal? WHERE IS SHE?!” Damen snapped.
“Damen calm down. She’s with the nurses at the moment, she might be in the foal room.”
Damen galloped off; Crystal looked at Mrs. Snapple and Harmony, shocked at Damen’s response.
“What is wrong with him?” Crystal asked.
“I told him that your filly was alive, and she was awaiting for him. And you were too.” Harmony responded.
“Well, good thing. I kind of still hurt from what he had said, maybe he will beg for forgiveness.”
Soon, Damen arrived at the foal room window, staring out at it; frantically looking for his little filly. He wanted to see her, he wanted to know if she was alive.
“Are you Damen? Crystal Feather’s husband?” one of the nurses walking by asked.
“Yes.” Damen responded.
“You’re little filly, is right there.” She pointed at an emerald green filly, with a rose red mane and tail that was in the same style as Crystal’s when she was in Elementary school. Damen stared at the filly, wanting to grab onto her, love on her. Damen slowly trotted away back into Crystal’s hospital room.
Crystal stared into Damen’s eyes, wanting him to say he was sorry. Damen looked up and the tears started coming from his eyes.
“I’m so sorry Crystal, I didn’t mean to snap at you. I was just so upset knowing that we lost our first foal. Now knowing that she is alive and okay, I feel happy. I didn’t mean to snap at you, I thought that my life was over.”
“It’s alright Damen, I didn’t have the right to be snapping back.”
“So, are we still husband and wife? Being parents to our little foal.”
“Forever Damen, till we die.”
Soon the nurse taking care of Crystal came into the room, holding a small lime green blanket. She went up to Crystal and handed her the blanket. Inside was the little filly, silver eyes wide open and moving.
"Damen, look!" Crystal said.
"She's so beautiful..."
Crystal held the filly up at Damen's face, he took a hold of the filly. She wrapped her hooves around his hoof that touched her face. Damen teared up, Stardella trotted up to Damen looking into the heart melting eyes of the fillies.
"She's perfect. What are you guys going to name her?" Harmony asked.
"Well, I was thinking of calling her, Emerald Rose. Because of her rose red mane and tail, and her fur being emerald green. She's got your looks Damen." Crystal responded.
Damen help Emerald Rose in his hooves, not letting her go.
"She's going to be a daddy's girl; I can just tell..."
Damen and Crystal Feather at this point have been dating for over a couple of years. Damen is going to take Crystal out to dinner, and give her a special gift, that would change the course of their lives forever. She put on a nice bracelet and the necklace he had given her at the end of their senior year in high school. Heading to the local fancy restaurant down the street to where she lived, Crystal stood by the door and waited for Damen to come.
Soon coming around the corner, the familiar white unicorn stallion came up to the doors of the restaurant.
“Hey Crystal. Are you ready?” Damen asked.
“Ready as I’ll ever be. What was this date for anyways Damen? Don’t you have a train to catch in a few hours?” Crystal asked.
“No, that isn’t until tomorrow, this date is more like a date before I leave for a few weeks.”
“Okay.”
Damen grabbed Crystal’s hoof and the both of them went inside the restaurant. They sat down in a quiet room where no other pony was.
“This is one of the busiest places in the Crystal Empire! How did we get a quiet room?” Crystal asked.
“I have some connections with the manager here. I told the manager to get us a quiet room, so then we could talk, and I know that you don’t really like an audience.” Damen answered.
“Well, thank you Damen; that’s amazing!”
Damen nodded, using his unicorn magic he pulled out Crystal’s chair, Crystal sat down. The whole dinner, Damen talked about his career and Crystal told him about story ideas that she had, and how they were going to go. When they finished eating, Damen went to his tuxedo pocket, and pulled out a small box.
“What is that Damen?” Crystal asked.
“Crystal, I know this seems sudden, and I have finally got the guts to ask you.” Damen used his magic opening the small box, reveling a diamond ring, “Will you marry me Crystal?”
Crystal’s eyes widened, she couldn’t respond. Was this a dream that she was reliving? Was this some kind of joke? Or did Damen really want to marry her?
“Is this a joke Damen?” Crystal asked.
“No Crystal. I want you to be my mare, the one that will take care of me, and maybe a young foal later on in life.” Damen responded.
What could Crystal answer, this stallion was going to be her husband forever if she said yes, but she would lose him if she said no.
“What’s your answer?” Damen asked.
“Yes Damen, yes, I will marry you!” Crystal cheered.
Damen wrapped his hooves around Crystal, placing the ring around one of the feathers on Crystal’s wing. They were going to live happily ever after.
