Chapter 2: Welcome home

"Oh thank god I made it" I sighed in relief as I reached the front porch of my house. It had been a hard and long walk to get from the crash site to here due to all the hills I had to walk over and already I could my legs beginning to give away. It also didn't help that there was an unconscious girl getting a piggy back ride from me throughout the whole walk but it was amazing that she stayed unconscious throughout the whole thing too. Even with all the awkwardness of me carrying another body, it didn't feel all that bad. For starters she wasn't that heavy at all and was easy at first carrying her. Next I couldn't help but feel comfortable by the fact that I was feeling the warmth of another person (even though she was completely naked except for the jacket covering her) as her head rested on my shoulder. It was a great feeling that I haven't felt in a long time.

After what seemed like forever to reach the front door due to my exhaustion I opened the door (I don't like my door locked) and barged in. I took a some stumbled steps across the hallway until I reached the guest room. Flicking on the lights I carefully placed her on the bed and covered her with the blankets. I followed by jumping back and slouching against the wall.

I breathed a sigh of relief of finally being able to get rid of the weight on my back and for finally allowing my legs to rest. After catching my breath from all that, I took a good look at her and realized again how beautiful she looked. She seemed to be as old as me telling from how young she looks and how spunky her body was. Her teal hair still seemed to sparkle every time it moved whenever she breathed. Her face just showed off her beauty from her curled eyelashes to her luscious lips. Just looking at them made me wonder what a kiss would be like from her.

"Whoa there Drew, control yourself." I muttered to myself "Ok so first I find a swirling rainbow colored vortex, the sky sparkled a purple for a second, something falls from the sky and crashes in the ground, I find a naked girl in the aftermath, and I bring her home."

"What do I do now?"

I wondered why I didn't bother to stop myself to ask myself that after the carrying part was over. I pondered over this and tried to think of all the reasonable ways on how to handle this. I could call up Garret and tell him to drive her to the hospital but he was probably hitting it with the books again. Or I could call the police and tell them but they might assume that I took advantage of her once they find out that she has no clothes. After some thinking I decided to call the police thinking that they would be able to take care of her where's I am not.

I took out my cell phone and dialed the three digit numbers. I heard a couple of beeps until a female voice cracked through.

"Hello, the *static* you have dialed is unavail-*static* at this time. *static* try again later."

"Damn, well that's just swell." I cursed. Looking over to the girl I saw how peaceful her face was as she slept and couldn't help but smile. Deciding to call it a day I walked out of the room and gently closed the door.

"Looks like I'm stuck with you for now." I whispered

I walked down the hallway until I reached my room. It wasn't a sight to behold with all the clothes and empty energy drink cans lying around. The barf green walls didn't seem to help in any way to help lighten the mood in this room either. Lying in one corner was my mattress completed with a single pillow and a thick blanket. Next to it was my coffee table which was littered with whatever junk I hadn't cleaned up in the past few days. Directly in front of my bed was an Xbox attached to a HD plasma screen hooked up on the wall. And then next to my window was my pride and joy, a custom made gaming computer.

Walking over to my computer, I took a seat in my office chair and pressed the on switch. Immediately the computer fans hummed to life and the alien emblem appeared as the screen flickered on. Moving the mouse, I clicked on the Internet explorer icon to check my email. I went on to my account to hear a beep followed by a message which read "1 new message." I quickly moved my curser onto the message and opened the message.

Dear Drew,

It's mom again, just checking on how your doing home alone. Is everything fine? Please just reply to this so I know your doing fine, you have no ideas how much this has stress I have been feeling ever since our plane landed in Miami a week ago. It just doesn't feel like a family vacation without you here with the rest of us.

I chuckled at the thought of my mother stressing out over me on the yearly family vacation when she could be relaxing on the beach or just playing at one of the casinos. Yet there was my mother, sending me an email almost everyday just to find out how I was doing. I couldn't help but get a warm feeling in my chest for knowing that.

As for us we're doing fine, your father has just taught your brother (Bubba) how to surf and it seems that now your brother just can't stay away from the ocean for more than a couple minutes. Your sister (Chyna) is also having a great time in collecting all the sea creatures in the reef. They were very nice but the most disgusting thing she brought back into hotel room was this huge, orange colored slug creature uhh. Well with all that we're doing good. Hope you like the picture we attached at the bottom!

Scrolling down the letter, I found the download button for the picture. Clicking on it an envelope animation opened up and the picture flew out and onto the screen. On it I saw my mother smiling  with her arms around my father who also gave the same heartwarming smile. To the side of them I saw my little bro holding a surfboard who was dripping wet and covered in sand. Finally next to him was my sister who held out both hands with something long and orange lying flat on her hands. Behind them was the sparkling blue water of the ocean and the sun burning brightly overhead.

I smiled knowing that they were having a great time and also being able to learn and see new and exotic things. Flipping out my keyboard I started on my letter.

Dear Family

I am doing fine now that I know that all you guys are having such a wonderful time. Don't worry though, I may be young but I still know a thing or two about cooking so you don't have to worry about me starving. Not to mention you guys gave me that debit card that has more than enough money to last me for the next couple of weeks. I also hope you guys know that if anything goes wrong I still got Garrett to watch my back so don't worry about me and just enjoy the rest of your vacation ok. Well can't wait to hear from you guys again.

From,

Drew

"Finish and send," With that I clicked the send button and turned off my computer. Turning over I checked my clock to see what time it was.

"1:05?" I yawned "Better get ready for bed," I got out of the chair and looked for whatever clothes looked clean enough to wear for the night. Rummaging through the piles of clothes I chose a chose sweat pants and a white T. I walked out of my room and turned to the entrance of the bathroom to turn in the water to prepare for my shower. I quickly took off my clothes and walked to the steaming water.

"Ah, this feels great." I said to myself. It was great to feel the warm water relaxing my body after that long walk I took caring that girl. I lost track of time as I just stayed there letting the warm water sooth the aches that I felt when suddenly I heard a loud knock on the bathroom door. I jolted up at the sudden noise but relaxed as a single thought ran through my head. She was awake.

"Hold on I'll be right out," I said as I turned off the water

Knock, knock

"I said I'm coming," I said louder, quickly slipping on my boxers

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"What the hell! I said I'm comi.."

Suddenly the door flew opened right as I was about to open it and there in front of me stood the once unconscious girl. She stared at me, eye to eye, her pink eyes filled with fury. She breathed through he clenched teeth and every breath she took was heavy as her chest raised and drop with every deep breath of air. I also saw that her hands were clenched into menacing looking fists which shook in her anger. I felt fear seeing a person this angry just staring at me.

"Um, you ok?"

Just like that she launched herself and punched me square in the face. Knowing how light she was caring her back to my home I expected her punch to be weak but man was I wrong. Her punch felt like someone had smashed a brick in my face with all their strength. My body flung back and the next feeling I got was my head smacking hard against something followed by the sound of something shattering. I grunted as I put my hand on my head to try to massage the pain away. I quickly pulled away my hand and held it up in my face when I felt something warm and wet trickle down my neck.

"Shit," I muttered when I saw a good look what was on my hand.

Blood. My hand was covered in it when I came to look at it and I could still feel it dripping down my neck. I felt suddenly dizzy after that and began seeing black spots in my vision. Pulling up my head I saw the girl whose eyes once filled with anger now wide open with worry. Her hands covered her mouth as she slowly stumbled over to me.

"I-I-I'm so sorry."

I blacked out after that.
