The Little Rainbow

Twilight smiled to herself as she watched Rainbow sleep, 'I should take a picture but she would kill me'. She laughed a little bit at her own thought and stood up. Rainbow slowly opened her eyes and yawned as she moved her head up and looked around. "Did you sleep okay?" Rainbow turned her head and looked up at Twilight.

"I guess so... Where's Applejack?" Rainbow rubbed one of her eyes as she looked for AJ. 'Where is she..?' Twilight smiled and gently ruffled Rainbow's hair.

"She went home, I'm taking care of you tonight so she can have a small break. Don't worry you can see her tomorrow." Twilight smiled as she walked into the kitchen. "Do you want anything special for dinner?" She opened the fridge and looked inside for dinner ideas before she heard someone walk into the kitchen.

"Do you have some chicken?" Rainbow asked as she looked in the fride from under Twilights arm. Twilight smiled and opened the freezer and pulled out some chicken strips. Rainbow smiled and looked at the bag.

"I have these, do you want to have these and a apple for dinner?" Twilight held up the bag and read how to cook it. Rainbow nodded her head before she left the kitchen and went back into the library. 'She better not mess anything up.... I just organized everything this morning'. Twilight prepared the oven and smiled.

Meanwhile in the library Rainbow was looking at all the books until she found the one she was looking for, it was a fairly think book that had a red cover and no words on the front. 'Maybe this is it!" Rainbow thought excitedly as she opened and started to read the first page. 'Alright...'. Rainbow climbed on a couch and continued to read the book with a confused expression. 'Pinkie said this book was funny... More like creepy'. She turned the page and saw a picture and looked at it confused until she found out what it was. "Oh gross!" She closed the book on the ground just before her name was called.

"Come on Rainbow dinner is ready." Twilight called out as she set a plate on the table. Rainbow walked in the kitchen and smiled as she sat down at the table and picked up a piece of chicken.

"Thanks for making me dinner Twilight!" Rainbow smiled as she began to eat. Twilight smiled before she left the kitchen and walked into the library, she noticed the book on the ground and picked it up.

'Must have fell off the shelf... Ugh this book is messed up..'. Twilight thought to herself as she set it back on the shelf. She looked through the books until she found Rainbow's favorite book. 'I could read this to her later of she wants.' Twilight smiled as she set the book on a nearby table and went up to her room. "Sleeping arrangements.." Twilight let out a small sigh as she went to work on who sleeps where.

Rainbow finished eating in the kitchen and smiled as she got upand went back into the library. She noticed the book sitting on the table and read the cover. 'I love this book!' Rainbow smiled as she sat down and placed the book in her lap and opened the book. She began reading and didn't notice Twilight return from her room.

Twilight smiled as she noticed Rainbow reading the book and sat down beside her. "Well you just took over my plans for later, how about we play some games after you read the first few chapters?" Rainbow responded with a nod as she handed Twilight the book and smiled.

"Can you read the next chapter, I don't want to seem like a egghead." Twilight rolled her eyes and let out a small laugh as she look down at the book. Rainbow pointed to where she left off. "I may be small, but I'm still awesome."

"What ever makes you feel good about it." Twilght laughed at Rainbow's response to that before she started to read the book. The two sat on the couch for about a hour, Twilight stopped reading when she noticed Rainbow was leaning against her arm and drooling a little bit onto her. 'Oh really?' She let out a small laugh asshe set the book to the side and gently poked Rainbow's face, getting a small grumble in return.

Rainbow reached up and grabbed onto Twilights finger and opened her eyes a little bit. "Whaaat..." she asked quietly before she sat up and rubbed one of her eyes, still holding Twilight's finger.

"You were drooling on me plus it's not time for bed yet. C'mon let's get a little bit more of your energy out." Twilight smiled as she wiped her arm off and let Rainbow hold onto her finger for a little bit longer.

"How is it not time for bed yet?" Rainbow looked out a window and saw that it was dark. She looked back at Twilight with a confused look. "Do you even know what time it is?"

"Well I guess your right Rainbow, c'mon let's go to my room." Twilight shook her head and smiled as she stood up and walked to her room with Rainbow almost beside her.

"You don't get up early right? I want to be able to sleep in." Rainbow yawned as she felt Twilight set her on her bed.

Rainbow lied down and crawled under the blankets and let out a happy sigh.

"You can sleep in as late as you want Rainbow, just make sure you don't break things." Twilight got into the bed and lied on the other side of the bed. 'Aww..'. She smiled as she watched Rainbow hug one of the many pillows and starting to drift off to sleep. "Night rainbow."
