Chapters You know sometimes I wonder who really I am.
I wonder, if I'm meant for anything great at all?
If I'm really worth a soul and body on this earth.
I try telling myself I'll do great and amazing things, that nobody else has even dreamed of.
But no matter how many times I try to escape my hellish reality, I always wake up. In an endless loop of the very gift God, Allah, the Sun God or whatever deity, blessed me with endless imagination. What once was the child's vast world of nonstop creativity now is the adults imprisonment, for no matter what great things I can think, non are powerful enough to release me from my bonds.
Soothing sorrowful woe... These are the life and times of Nyx of the moon's light. May my memories live long in the hearts of those who hold them.
A ring of light appeared suddenly from the overcast, scattering the birds nestling in the grass. An explosion of fire lit up the darkness. And all went quiet and dark as it once was. But all was not as it seemed...
A silhouette, tall and menacing as dark of the moon, rose without a whisper in the air. Blue eyes of shadow pierced the gloomy murk of night. They glanced around furtively, then looked down upon the claw-like hands. Four claws, not five as told. No matter, a spell written five thousand years ago and in a different universe, it was better than nothing. Surely better than that horrible troll-like creature which sprouted seven fingers each but only three toes total.
The eyes shifted until they located the creatures back. Though it was dark, it mattered not. The shadow could see clearly as day. Clearer in fact.
Two wings, quiet small and hard to notice, but folded in. When the monster opened them however, they held a solid twelve feet diameter. And amongst the thin grey membranes: lines of crystal heart hues of neon blues and purples. Beautiful. The enemies might catch a glimpse of the blue angel before death was brought upon them.
The eyes looked down again, past the hands, and instead at the limbs, torso, and legs. There was no long neck as promised, but one that supported similarity the creatures once humanoid form. The arms and legs were slightly shorter in proportion, possibly to impose walking on all four limbs. Nonetheless the were thick to the bone in muscles, a stomach flatter than paper (or so the monster thought smugly), and three toes as well, with retractable claws as well.
"Such a truly nightmarish creature of darkness should not be permitted in a universe like this. But I've waited long enough for this moment. It's time for my colors to shine, and my scream to be heard. FOR I AM NYX! THE GREAT AND DEADLY! HEAR MY NAME AND WAIL, for I am death to all, and to all a good night...
"Spike! Wake up!"
"Ugh...."
Spikes eyes opens the tiniest fraction of an inch.
"Five more minutes please...?"
"No! You already had 'five more minutes' ten minutes ago! We need to get going or we're going to miss Princess Luna's royal visit!"
Spike looked at the clock.
"5:30? Really Twilight, I know your the top student and all, not to mention a princess yourself, but why do we need to get up this early? What's there to do?"
The question was a mistake.
"WHAT'S THERE TO DO?-" began Twilight.
After thirty minutes of lecturing, and a coffee with donuts (extra sprinkles) Spike felt a little bit more awake. It was still dark out.
"Well, it's about time you dragged your dragon tail out of bed. Common, let's go through the checklist. And I promise, if everything goes well today, you'll get an hour to sleep in tomorrow."
Spike didn't bother mentioning the LAST time that that promise had been made and the next morning a surprise letter from Princess Celestial had completely ruined the morning (ever try to sleep in while burping up letters? You try it.). Spike would just have to hope it would work out in the end.
*skimming over tall grasses... eyes pierced out in the distance... stars above...death before him...*
A few hours later after the dawning of the sun, Rainbow Dash awoke. She went though her routines: stretching, eating Oats and Honeygrass, and 'dashing' all the clouds that might impede on tonight's celebration for Princess Luna--- all in ten minutes flat. Now that her job was taken care of, she had the rest of the day to practice her tricks and skills. Afterwards, she decided that she would help out with getting Ponyville ready for the celebration.
Meanwhile Applejack was hard at work. No day was ever an exception to miss working on the farm, celebration or no celebration. Even though Applejack, her brother, and sister had been up since the crack of dawn, chores were still to be done, and would take its sweet time finishing up well up until the afternoon.
Pinkie Pie was jumping somewhere...
Rarity was finishing up on her next line of dresses meant for the fashion show that would take place later tonight, all in honor of Princess Luna. There were dresses of a moon, stars, purples and blacks with blues, some more stars and Rarity's favorite, a dress that mimicked Rainbow Dash's mane, except instead of the colors of the rainbow, they were the lushed colors of the night. Rarity see, HOPED that her memory of Luna's mane matched the dress, but she was so worked up about it she nearly discarded the idea. Only a picture from Twilight saved the dress.
Little Fluttershy was humming and 'lalalaing' as she fed her birds and animal friends. It was a very peaceful morning with just a little breeze from the north winds and enough heat to make the sun warm the skin, but not overcook anybody to the point of needing refreshment.
*dodging mountains, following a river, and soaring along a beaten road...*
The night was nearing, and the small village looked gorgeous. Banners hung in the streets celebrating the return of Princess Luna to her former royal self, food had been prepared for more than enough of the populous of the village, there was not a cloud in the sky, and Twilight was more than ready for her speech.
But feeling "more than ready" was not officially "totally ready," at least not in Twilight's book.
"Okay Spike, keep quizzing me on what to say."
Though it had been a long tiring day Spike still remained as positive as a baby dragon could.
"'What do you have to say about Princess Luna, is she truly changed, or is this just an act?'"
The questions wouldn't be asked during the ceremony, but Twilight's speech was supposed to answer them anyways, in the most subtle, yet influencing way. The audience wouldn't know that their questions (if they had any that is) were being answered, but after hearing the speech, they would return to their homes feeling as though Princess Luna really was a great, kind, and gentle alicorn that she always had meant to be.
"Princess Luna wa-" Twilight began.
"YAHOO!!!"
Rainbow Dash came practically out of nowhere smashing gracefully to the ground as a heap of dust and rocks blew into a column of smoke.
"Hey Twilight, what's shaking?"
Twilight just so happened to be, no thanks to Dash's unexpected surprise landing party.
"O-oh n-n-nothing. J-just trying to s-study for my speech is all.. Which you clearly aren't helping with."
"Hahaha! Oh Twilight, everypony knows that you could make up a speech as good as this one on the fly!"
"But this isn't just some simply speech for some simple pony, it's for Princess. Luna herself! And let's not forget, Princess Celestial and Cadence will be here as well! They'll hear the entire speech and will be judging it every word that I say! It's enough to make somepony crazy!"
Rainbow Dash but her lip trying not to laugh and say something. (Crazy like you? it would have begun).
Pinkie Pie came bounding up at that moment.
"Hi Twilight, Rainbow Dash! How are you guys this evening?"
"We're doing great Pinkie, but where have you been? I bought that you promised you would help out on the party planning."
"Oh, I did! And I gave specific instructions to Cheese Sandwhich what he would do for my part of the party. I had an equally more important job though, I had to bake all the cupcakes cakes cookies pies toffees fudges and let's not forget, donuts for the desserts tonight at my secret bakery!"
"Wait, you have another bak-"
"Ohh, sweet then!" Interrupted Rainbow Dash.
Twilight glared at her.
"What?"
"Never mind, Pinkie, have you seen were the others are?"
"Oooh, yes yes yes yes yes! Rarity is still getting her dresses all settled for the fashion show, but Applejack is finishing up her stand so she and Fluttershy should be here any second!"
"Great! I can't wait to see Rarity's fashion show, she promised it'd be completely in honor of Princess Luna!" said Twilight excitedly.
"I cant wait to try Applejack's zap-apple pies!" Rainbow continued. "After she told me about her secret batch of cider, I've been begging her for ages to make something out of it!"
"Somepony saying ma name cause ma ears are burnin?"
Applejack trotted up to the ponies followed quietly by Fluttershy.
"Hey AJ, Fluttershy! Yeah we might just mentioned you and your "apple"-mazing pies! When can we try them?"
"Oh Rainbow, sometimes your so impatient! Soon I tell ya, right as soon as Princess Luna's arrival will I let y'all, and especially you Rainbow, try some pie."
"Everypony, quick to the center! Luna's chariot is on the way! I need to get up to the podium for my speech!" Twilight said as she rushed off into the jostling crowd before remembering her wings.
The rest of the friends flew, walked, or (Fluttershy) was pushed this way and that as they tried to find their seats.
*appearing at the edge of a forest...*
"I'll be noticed to quickly if I try to fly over to them." A deep voice rumbled. "I'd better go through the forest than over."
*disappearing into the darkness, of the Evergreen Forest...*
"Welcome Ponies, to Princess Luna's Moon Rising Celebration! Many moons ago, Princess Luna had fallen into the same problems as many of us ponies face today, but after realizing her faults, she came back, and now walks taller than ever before as she lifts the moon back it's rightful place in the sky, just like old times!" Announced Twilight.
Her speech would be long, include many famous amendments done by the Princess', and then Princess Celestia would take the stage.
"And now my pony subjects, my beautiful sister, LUNA!"
With that, Princess Luna shot forth in glimmers of moonlight and stars, soaring through the sky around the moon.
Princess Luna too, gave a speech of the wonders of night. Every word seemed to have a spell upon it inflicting drowsiness to those hearing it. It wasn't a put me to sleep drowsy, but more of a I'm dreaming of a beautiful night and music dream. One that no pony, animal, or creature the world would ever be able to forget.
The moment the last word was spoken the spell was lifted and a roar of stamping a cheering arose from the crowd.
There were games and music, ranging from Vinyl Scratch's disco bass beat mix-up to Octavia's more formal orchestra.
The apple pies tasted wonders, in fact, so good, that it even influenced Rainbow to attempt a Sonic Rainboom, much to the delight of Ponyville and the Princess'.
Even Discord seemed content, talking with Fluttershy about all the progress he had made in his own quest for the meaning of friendship.
Rarity's fashion show went without a hitch, and all the famous ponies who had decided to show up at dainty Ponyville instantly realized the potential of such a youth with the skill she possessed.
As the night drew on, the Princess' used to their magic to light up the sky with celestial fireworks, majestic moon-lights, and other creativities that could only be brought forth during the night.
Their magic also however, alerted their precise location to uninvited guest...
Chapter Two: Encounters of the Third Kind
Nyx wasn't like the other super villains of all universes. Instead of entering with a bang, he first would surprise his victims, before the main event.
So he slunk into Ponyville like a cat, invisible to the crowd of ponies, but not to Discord. Thought he didn't know specifically what he was feeling, he knew something defiantly was off, and quickly snapped his fingers to teleport away to alert Princess Celestia.
Same with Pinkie Pie, who's twitching went more haywire than before Twilight accepted Pinkie's ability to predict the future. She went off to tell her friends.
The shadow crept along the rooftops, spying on his soon to be helpless victims. When Nyx reached the edge before the center the party, he stood, and his body rose into a few rays of the moon, deteriorating the way he looked, without showing his face, and waited.
Eventually as things go, one pony just so happened to glance up and would gasp, then another, and another and more, until everypony was looking up at the figure upon the roof.
The music went dead.
It was silent in the courtyard.
The four Princess' watched with keen eyes.
And from the shadows, lips parted to reveal white wicked sharp teeth in a terrifying grin. The hidden eyes glinted in amusement.
"Well well well, isn't this a lovely party your all having... I just thought that, you wouldn't mind if I, well, joined you, for a bit of fun..."
With that Nyx's wings shot open blotting out the stars behind him.
"That is of course, unless your too afraid to play with the master of darkinesis."
In a flash of blue fire the shadow vanished and reappeared behind the ponies, and quicker before they could turn, lit his hand on fire, and from it threw a ball energy. The energy smashed into the base of a banner, exploding fire everywhere.
The ponies now realizing their danger fled the courtyard, tumbling into one another, running for freedom.
But Nyx didn't waste time, he teleported multiple times, throwing more fireballs before the ponies trying to escape, making them turn tail to another direction.
"RUN YOU PONIES HAHA YES, RUN!" Laughed Nyx.
"Hey! You leave them alone!"
A flash of colors dove into Nyx, sending him tumbling from the rooftops to the ground below.
"Get him girls!" Shouted a purple toned pony.
Nyx growled and rolled to his feet just a blast of pink energy scorched where he had been fallen a second ago.
"So little purple wishes to duel it alone?"
"She's not alone!" The rainbow land back to the ground, and in its place was a light blue pony. More ponies were coming up behind the two, a pink one, yellow, orange, and white.
The Princesses who had been visiting the second courtyard were flying to meet them, along with Discord close behind.
"So be it." Nyx mocked.
He teleported away, as a lone speck against the moon, then flashed again back to where the ponies were, showering them with hot blue fire.
They dodged and jumped out of the way, but the yellow pony yelped as a bit of fire lashed out.
Purple and White flashed their horns and sent magic beams at Nyx, who promptly flashed away again. He returned with a new trick this time, electricity. With a roar he outstretched his lightning shocked arms and grabbed the beams of magic. Nyx tossed the beams aside. The beams still connected to Purple and White were flung off their feet and into the wall of a building. White was knocked out cold, and Purple didn't look much better either.
The Orange one suddenly came out of nowhere and delivered an incredibly powerful kick to Nyx's side waist, evenly sending him off balance. The Rainbow finished the job by smashing into Nyx again, and sent him on all fours. Kicked tried another, this time aiming for Nyx's head for the KO.
Nyx's clawed-hand shot up and caught the hoofs before they connected. Spinning in a circle he heaved Kicker off her feet, and threw her up and over a building. A crash was heard. Rainbow came flying back down for another blow. Nyx caught the pony and threw her off on her way as well.
Nyx turned back. Pink and yellow were still standing. Yellow crying, Pink looking fearful.
"Who's next? Common, you seemed so sure of yourself a second ago."
"pinkie... go, run... take fluttershy with you... Go..."
"Ooh ho ho, Purple still has some life in her does she? Sound advice I must say, but not sound enough. It's too late for these petty colored ponies, nobody runs from the likes of me."
"That's enough."
And swirl of dust flew and three alicorn and a grotesque looking mix match animal thing appeared.
The tallest white alicorn spoke, eyes flashing all the time: "What ever be your wicked purpose be in this world, you have no rights whatsoever to attack a defenseless village of innocent creatures. How dare you hurt my subjects and my faithful student. Who are you and what do you come for?"
Nyx feinted innocence. "Who me? Why, I just so happen to by Nyx, which means 'Night' in a very old language of mine. I just so happen to be the ruler of it, along with darkness, all shadows, and the wondrous powers that go along with it. My goal you ask? Simple. I'm putting everything that I see 'happy and loving', to sleep. Permantly."
The dark blue alicorn stood forth. "There is only one ruler of the night here Nyx, and you have no right to taking my birthright. What you show of the night is not of its glory, but of its evil, it's hatred, and it's fear."
"I know, isn't it an amazing thing?"
The smallest alicorn spoke up. "Evil and darkness doesn't belong in Equestria Nyx. Wherever it was that you came from, go back, and leave us in peace. We would sooner die fighting for our love and friendship and freedom than be bound to the likes of you!"
"Not to mention," the weird half-of-everything-animal-related monster said, "but there are four of us with exponential power, and only one of you."
Nyx pretended to ponder this.
"Well, now that you put it that way, I guess I'll have only one thing to do. Destroy all of you, and take my place as night's ruler."
Nyx rocketed into the air flying on his wings as the three alicorns shot colored beams of energy. Nyx dove and rolled, laughing hysterically. Shouting insults, he came back at the alicorns, shooting fire from his hands. He succeeded in nicking the light pink alicorn, and burning the foot of the white big one. The dark one proved difficult though. Everytime Nyx aimed a shot at her she seemed to leap suddenly into shadows unperceived by Nyx. Something that was incredibly hard for Nyx not to be able to do.
Nyx started to focus a variety of his fire to her, instead growing angrier as he continued to miss.
"I WILL HIT YOU!" Nyx roared out in madness. "I WILL-ERRRIGH!"
Nyx was smacked square across the chest by energy sent by the white alicorn. Nyx immediately knew something was wrong, terribly wrong, and started to fall to the earth. As he fell, the dark blue alicorn Nyx had been furtively trying to hit cheered out.
"Well done sister!" She said.
Sister eh..? Well enjoy THIS sister!
Nyx flinched his body just before he landed and sent a power surge of energy through his arm. White-hot electricity trickled, then zapped through the air straight towards White Alicorn.
Dark-Blue saw it immediatly, and pushed White Alicorn just as the hissing snakes smashed into her instead.
With an incredible thud Nyx smashed into the ground. Not a bone was broke, yet he knew bruises would appear all over the next morning. And that weird feeling, it was still present.
Nyx gathered himself up and faltered trying to stand up. His foreleg WAS broken after all, or maybe just fractured. Enough to give him a noticeable limp. Nyx grimaced as he took a step. He looked up.
White Alicorn was besides her wounded sister, whispering in Dark-Blue's ears. She then looked up, and in a look that told a million stories, and the first one that truly ever took Nyx's breath away. The unsettling look of pain, greivance, and anger lashed out all at once in that pair of pinkish purple eyes, actually made Nyx take a step back.
This... May NOT be very good... I think- yes, I'll be taking my leave now.
Nyx started to back away.
"And where do you think your going "Mr. Lord of the Night?" The White Alicorn whispered dangerously.
"Away." Nyx answered. And with that he sprinted out of mangled courtyard.
As he ran, he could hear fluttering of wings and knew that White Alicorn was dead on his tail. Though Nyx couldn't fly, he could still use his magic. And he did, throwing fire balls, and lightning over his shoulder. White Alicorn answered by cascading the area around him with energy blasts and silverly thin beams. Strangely enough though, what magic Nyx used destroyed the surrounding buildings and the like. White Alicorn's concussive blows did not surprisingly.
White's shots got closer to their mark, and right before Nyx reached the edge of the forest, another square hit was landed, this time landing across his back.
He flew a dozen feet before crashing to the ground. He jumped to his feet for another fire ball. He decided to wait this time, believing that White Alicorn's fury might overwhelm her judgement. She flew straight at him.
Fool, Nyx thought. He readied his hand. And with a shout of triumph, outstretched his hand right at the diving Alicorn, who still refused to alter her course. Nyx waited for the familiar heat to seep into his veins the moment before the shot------- but nothing happened.
"What the, wai-!" Was all that Nyx could get out before the Alicorn sailed into him, making them summersault through the field next to the dark forest. Nyx punched and scratched, scrambling to get out on top as blows and hoof kicks and magic blasts lanced across his body.
Finally, they stopped rolling, and White Alicorn was on top, three legs pinning both of Nyx's, and the other his arm. He started to raise his left arm for another punch before the Alicorn's horn glowed yellow, froze his arm.
His wings useless, magic and physically immobilized, Nyx knew he was in deep trouble. Preparing for the worst, he held out, starting to try and talk the Alicorn to a false sense of security but was immediately silenced when White Alicorn used her free hoof to strike at Nyx's face.
"Erugh! You-"
"Enough dark spirit!" White Alicorn thundered. "You have done great evil in my land, not only hurting my dear little sister, Luna, but also damaging my peaceful land and this peaceful village. I should finish you here and now, and be done with you forever more!"
"Why then, White Alicorn, would rather talk to me to deat-"
*smack!*
The hoof crashed into Nyx's eye.
"Or would you rather beat me White Alic-"
*Smack!*
The side of Nyx's head this time.
"Erugh!"
"I am not 'White Alicorn.' I am Princess Celestia, guardian and raiser of the Sun, and protected of those innocent under it. You will address me as your highness, or Princess, nothing less."
"Well excuse Princess White Alicorn, but I-"
*CRUNCH!*
"AUUUGH!" Nyx tried to cover himself but it was too late to conceal his roar of agony.
Celestia had raised her magic for a split moment, surprising Nyx. Before he could raise his arm, Celestia's hoof came down, crushing the bones in his upper limb.
Princess Celestia smiled. "Continue that and you might just find yourself a trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle."
Celestia lowered her horn again and it's magic held fast Nyx's mangled arm. Nyx could feel the Princess' magic grasping his broken pieces of bone every so delicatly.
"Wha- what will you have of me..." Nyx panted.
"There's something different about you. Something terribly evil on the inside yes, but not put there intentially.. If I hadn't seen it in time, I would've skipped the stunning spell and would've struck you down with a more powerful spell ages ago, and be done with you. Which then maybe Luna might not have gotten hurt.." Celestia finished by whispering near the end.
"Too bad you didn't, now she's hurt. Because of you."
Princess Celestia glared at Nyx. Nyx suddenly felt his bones grating the other fragments.
"Augh, n-not that my lig-EURGH! Lightning won't be e-EASY! To fix!"
Celestia's magic ceased, but still held fast.
"I would hope so. For your sake."
"Yeah..."
"I believe that, against my vested judgement, I will give you a second chance-"
"Lady, FYI, I didn't ask for one."
"-and DESPITE the fact that you CLEARLY don't deserve one, you'll be GETTING ONE. Whether you like it or not."
Nyx glared at her, wondering what game she was trying to play at.
"You will say a sacred oath, that you will try your very hardest to understand the wrong you have done to my land. You will suffer as they have suffered, and see with their eyes from their points of view. You will live as they do, not aloof and unwatched, unTAMED, but gentle and friendly. Do this, and I will give you the freedom to leave our world, with your promise that you will never return." Celestia looked stern, but her eyes still had that unsettling fire.
"And what if I refuse?" Nyx questioned
"You'll be sent to Tartarus as prisioner, and will never leave until your agreeing of my terms, or until your death."
Nyx pondered this, and this time, REALLY thought about it.
"Well... Taking I don't have much of a choice, fine."
"Good."
Celestia leapt off of Nyx, but before he could make a break for it, Celestia sent a shower of golden magic over Nyx. Nyx immediately fell to his scaly knees.
"You are now under my agreement. Break it, and I will know."
Nyx collapsed onto his right arm, left dangling uselessly.
"You also can't be see as the dragon you are. Everyone will immediately realize who you are. Though I do not believe you are one anyways, I'll simply transform you into an unicorn pony. Your magic must be used responsibly as well, as per the agreement."
Another golden shower came upon Nyx, turning his dark skins and membranes golden.
"And one more thing. Say hi to Princess Luna when she sees you."
The last thing Nyx saw was golden spots shimmering and bubbling as his skin started to melt away.

Chapter Three: What the Dark Side of Darkness Does
Sunlight flickered through the window. The birds were chirping, and the sounds of a summer morning filled the room.
Nyx opened his eyes.
I am in a dream he thought.
Once upon a time Nyx could dream of a great many things, great wondrous creative dreams in which he could easily walk freely. none could hinder him here, and before the change, this is where he spent quite a bit of free time. But that had been years ago. nowadays, he hardly slept restfully, let alone dream.
Clearly whatever magic Princess Celestia had done to him had put him in VERY deep sleep.
Nyx got out of bed and went to the window. he was in one of the many houses he had lived in as a child.
Nyx walked outside to feel the summer breeze.
from what Nyx perceived, this was a beautiful day. though this was an empty field. there was no place for a shadow like him to crawl into.
without warning clouds started to appear, and rain began to fall immediately after. the sun disappeared and a blood red moon took its place.
Nyx continued walking.
the rain fell heavily and the clouds burst as lightning flashed while thunder answered.
when Nyx could no longer see the small house, he looked up the faithful sky. he sat in the soaked grass and absentee pulled at the grass stocks, wondering when his dream would end.
he didn't like it. it reminded him of his past. and his past was NEVER to be remembered. like shutting book after its been read, placing it on the shelf, and never being opened again, Nyx had absolutely refused to look back.
Nyx looked back to the sky. The moon had suddenly split the chaotic clouds. The moons surface was cratered differently than he had know before- no. He mustn't go there.
The moon glowed brightly against the storm.
Suddenly one of the craters started to grow. Larger and larger until the dot started to form into a lone figure against the reflection of the sun.
Nyx jumped to his feet when he realized who it was.
Dark-blue, or in this case, as Princess Celestia had mentioned, Princess Luna.
Nyx started to walk away, not wishing to take any part of what the dream Princess Luna wanted with him. But he stopped cold when the Princess called out to him.
"Nyx! Stop!"
Nyx turned his head, bot believing what he had heard. Never before had his lucid dreams been so... Well lucid.
The Princess landed a few measurable feet away from Nyx.
"Your not real, only part of my imagination. Your going to disappear right now." Nyx commanded, favoring his old trick to get rid of nightmares.
Luna looked at him.
"I am Princess Luna, not Dark-Blue as you seem to have become in favor of calling me."
Nyx narrowed his eyes in confusion. How did she..?
I can do a great many things while I'm in dreams, whether they're mine, or others, I am the queen of dreams.
Nyx's mouth opened. Reading my thoughts? But- wait, she can hear those, and tho- damn it Dark-Bl-shit I did it aga-Erugh this is annoying!
Indeed it can be quiet upsetting to those not in practice of shielding their minds. Luna's voice echoed in Nyx's head.
Forget this. "Why are you here in my dream?" Nyx questioned out loud. Rather than risking Princess Luna accidentally hearing something important, Nyx would just have to speak outloud instead.
"i am the princess of the night, I have this power amount many others. usually I don't invade the personalities of others but only in extreme cases. i find that this is an extreme case beyond all doubt."
"wonder why." Nyx mused.
Princess Luna spoke gravely in his head. you have disrupted the peace on Equestria. already in the deepest the world's evil lair's unwelcome creatures are stirring. long have I held watch over the prison Tartarus, but I feel the gates may break. Cerberus cannot hold them by himself.
"seemingly you have targeted me as the root cause of this." Nyx responded.
if you had chosen to remain on your world-
I would never have stopped suffering Nyx thought before he could stop himself. For fear of what else he might give Nyx remained stone-quiet.
Luna's voice faltered for a second, then continued- if you had remained on your world no.e of this would have ever happened, you not defeated and broken, and our people and land not injured.
"Um, pardon me Mrs. Luna, but I was NEVER defeated, and especially not broken."
I can not only read your thoughts but see what you see as well.
"you can't see inside my mind!"
no, not in your literal head, but whatever you imagine in there, I see out here.
and just to prove her point the land shifted, blurring from the grassy field to a third person view of Nyx on his back, Celestia pinning him on the ground, lifting a hoof, breaking his arm.
Nyx felt a twinge of pain suddenly in his arm and he looked down on it.
then he stifled his gasp of alarm.
oh shit
he was in his before form!
Nyx tried to imagine his dragon form but to no avail. when someone says "stop thinking about puppies," one's mind simply does not immediately think of something else, but falls for the psychic trick of being forced to think about puppies. another way of looking at this, especially in Nyx's case, try to forget something, such as memory, and you'll never forget it.
Luna, hearing Nyx's thoughts, turned her head. Her eyes went wide.
What...?! Your... Your a-
"I KNOW WHAT I AM!" Nyx interrupted roaring. "But it doesn't matter what I was for I no longer am therefore it is unimportant."
But- Why-? How- It doesn't make any sense! How could you- how did you, come here?
"Hey, did you ever here me?"
Why are you here?! Luna demanded.
"It. Doesn't. Matter."
Luna narrowed her eyes.
Very well. You don't have to tell me now, but I WILL find out. I'll be back. Every single night, I'll be in your dreams, demanding your anwser. And every time you refuse, you will suffer my nightmares.
Lightning flashed and thunder crackled at that very moment. Lightning crashed before Nyx's feet sending him scrambling for safety. Nyx abruptly stopped when he remembered where he was.
"You think that I fear your dreams? Not even yours, they're mine!"
I control the dream world. Let me ask you something- Luna walked into a shadow disappearing. Suddenly she appeared in front of Nyx and before he could react, landed a kick straight in his gut -does this hurt?
Nyx made a wheezing sound and collapsed clutching his stomach.
"What the hell was that for?!"
THAT was for what you did to me!
"Well, on the contrary, I was actually aiming for your sister..."
Luna raised a hoof-
"But it was very noble of you to protect your sister like that and I'm sorry that I hit you instead" Nyx quickly said.
Luna's hoof went back down; shaking her head as she spoke telepathically. Whatever possessed my sister to grant you this second chance is beyond me. But I trust her judgement... I just hope you'll be able to meet whatever demands she gave you.
As do I Nyx thought sullenly.
It's a shame you've spent all your potential on doing evil acts. Otherwise you could prove very helpful in fixing the issue at hand with the demons arising. I suppose though, you'd much rather see the world burn.
Nyx said nothin for fear of what he might come out.
