Romance in the Air

Twilight's P.O.V

As I wake up, Luna is standing near the door, about to leave.  "Do you have a good night's sleep?" She asked.

"If I remember, you did stop the nightmares. Without you, the nightmares would have continued. I owe my thanks," I replied.

"Aw, that's nothing, Twilight.  I am just trying to help.  Of course, there could be new books at the library in downtown Ponyville, if you would care to check it out. I'll be leaving, okay?"

"Okay."

She flies out of the castle, and I have a warm feeling inside my heart that has yet to go away.  I sigh deeply as I walk out of my new home.  I am barely used to my surroundings.  "Twilight, do I have to go with you?" Spike asked.

"Not really. You can stay home if you want- or you can visit Rarity," I replied.

He beams at the mention of Rarity.  "I'll be at Rarity's," He said.

"You love Rarity, don't you?"

I walk downtown, and Spike walks towards the boutique.  I am greeted by my friends.  "How are you?" Pinkie asked, "I know you missed the party, but that's okay. You don't have to come to every single party that I throw."

"I'm good. I'm just going to get new books," I replied as the scene of the books getting destroyed once again enter my mind.

"So, did you lose most of the books? I'm sorry for your loss, sugarcube," Apple Jack told me.

"Well, sometimes friends are more important," Rainbow Dash said.

"Are you going to buy the books?" Rarity asked, "Sometimes books aren't bought from libraries. There is a bookstore next to the library, though."

"Speaking of books," Fluttershy said as she turns her attention to Pinkie Pie, "Is your friend coming to town once again? I heard some of the conversation last night."

"He is coming- and we're going to see the Pony Beats concert!" Pinkie replied with excitement.

I smile as I walk past them.  I enter the library, and the library is familiar somehow.  The surroundings, the scenery, and the way this place looks. A pony sits behind the desk, and I look at the first bookshelf.

A book catches my interest.  I levitate the book to see what it's about.  It's about Equestrian history.  Surely, one book isn't enough to replace the other books.  I levitate another book off the bookshelf, and then I levitate another book.  I place the books onto the table.  I walk to the section with the books that have information about magic.  I take a few books, and then I decide to get a few fictional books.

I gather the books together, and then I talk with the pony about the books to see if I could get them.  "I think you deserve a few books after what has happened to all the other books," The pony said.

"Are you saying that I can have them for the rest of my life?" I asked.

"Yes. You get to keep them because you've saved Equestria."

I smile, and then I place the books into my saddle bags. The amount of books have made the saddle bags heavy.  I then walk to the bookstore to see if they have any more books.  Some of the books seem new, and to my surprise, Rainbow Dash is here.  She has a book in her left saddle bag.  "Hey, Rainbow Dash! Is that a new Daring Do book?" I asked.

"Of course! I'm gonna buy it. There's only a few of this left.  It's called 'Daring Do and the Treacherous Forest.'  I couldn't wait to read this," She replied.

"Which section of this store did you get this from?"

"They're over there."  She points to the left, and the aisle's sign suggests that it is full of the adventure genre.

I walk to the aisle, and I notice a book with the title that Rainbow has mentioned.  I levitate the book, and then I walk to the desk.  I buy the book a second later, and then I place the book into my left saddle bag.  I fly home, and then I place the books onto the only bookshelf left- and that bookshelf is in my room.  It is renewed somehow, and it is made of elegant marble.

I levitate the book, and then I place it onto the bed as I lay down.  It will take a while to get used to the new bed.  I start reading the book.  The Friendship Castle is really silent, and it is bigger on the inside.  It may seem small on the outside, but on the inside, there are several rooms- but not too many rooms.  There even is a throne room.

Pinkie's P.O.V

I excitedly race to the train station, and Cheese Sandwich is waiting at the train station.  I smile as I quickly hug him.  We break from the hug, and then I blush.

We hop off to the stage that is in the Ponyville Park.  The ponies are standing as a limo arrives.  Four mares that are dressed in glitzy outfits climb out of the limo, and then they get onto the stage.  The ponies cheer, and I smile excitedly.  An announcer walks onto the stage, and taps the microphone.  "Mares and gentlecoats, we are here to watch the Pony Beats sing! Let's give them a fanfare," He said.

We all cheer once again, and the announcer walks off the stage.  The Pony Beats start singing, and the upbeat music plays along.

"You gotta smile, cuz the day is shining bright! Cheer up and sing as the sun shines through your window! I know some days seem dark and rainy, but we can turn your frown upside down with our song! Gotta smile, smile, smile!" The Pony Beats sang.

Pretty soon, we are all singing along to this song.  We cheer as they end the song.  "That is the best song I've ever heard," I told

Cheese Sandwich, "The message of the song seems to be true!"

"I agree," He replied, "I bet this song describes you well because you're so cheery and excitable."

I blush at his words.  "Aww, thanks," I said in response to his compliment.  I kiss his cheek, and he seems to blush in response.

Fluttershy's P.O.V

Discord is on the sofa, and he is unusually somber today.  "Discord, why are you bothered by your actions? I have already forgiven you," I said.

"I know, but another villain could someday come and then I would betray you once again.  I'm not good at being loyal or anything.  I'm just a liar- and Apple Jack is right about me," He replied.

"Apple Jack doesn't completely trust you just yet, but that doesn't mean that you're a liar."

"But I have lied, Fluttershy.  When I once told you and your friends that I joined this beast, I have injured your feelings. I don't think you deserve to be with me."

I place my hoof onto Discord's shoulder, and I smile at him.  "But, Discord...... Don't you say that.  Ever since you turned good, I have this feeling whenever we're together.  I like you as more than just a friend," I said, "And you should know that you're not bad.  Everypony makes mistakes. That's what makes them......... Themselves. Without mistakes, they would be seen as too perfect. You're not perfect, but I like you, no matter who you are or what you are."

I swear that I could see a tear go down Discord's cheeks.  He snaps, and a box of tissues appear.  "My, my....... Your words are so touching," He said, "You're so right."

"That's because I care about you," I replied with a faint smile.

Discord wipes his tears with the tissue, and then he smiles back.  Of course, the past is in the past- so why would somepony bother to think about the past?  The past does not always repeat itself- but it could in nightmares.  He snaps his fingers, and in his hand is a boquet.  He lends it to me, and I blush.  "Thank you," I said.

"You're welcome, Fluttershy. Want to go on a picnic?" He replied.

"Of course."

We walk out of the cottage, and then we walk downtown.  We reach the park, and Discord snaps his fingers.  A picnic basket appears in less than a second.  I take in the scenery around me- the bright blue sky, the freshly cut grass, and the flowers dotting the ground.  There are butterflies hovering over the flowers.  The other ponies are having a picnic in the park.

"Celestia thinks she's so glorious, right? Let's see about that," Discord said as he snaps his fingers.

The sun turns pink, resulting in the whole town seeming recolored.  "Discord, turn that back to normal. Celestia wouldn't like that," I said.

"I'm sure a girly pony would like the sun to be colored pink."

"Turn it back now. Seriously."

"Alright, fine."  Discord changes the sun's color back to normal.  He would have received an unpleasant visit from Celestia.

A few hours pass, and then Discord and I go back home.

Twilight's P.O.V

As I finish reading one of the books, I realize that I've been reading for the last few hours.  There is a pile of books on the floor.  I levitate all the books with my magic, and then I place them onto the bookshelf.  I look out the window, and the sun sets as I try to forget the events that have happened a few weeks ago.

I am not quite used to this place- there are some rooms that I haven't recognized.  I'm sure that pretty soon, the guards would be assigned to this place to guard the castle from intruders.

I notice a shadow in the window.  It is shaped like an owl- is it Owlowiscious? How can he find this place if he once flew away for safety?  "Owlowiscious, is that you?" I asked.

The owl hoots in response, and then I smile.  "You're back," I said.

Spike walks in, and I smile at him.  "How's your day?" I asked.

"It went really well.  Rarity is being her usual self," He replied, "The owl behind you- is that Owlowiscious?"

"Of course, Spike."

I turn around to gaze at the stars with the telescope.  The night is beautiful, like Luna's mane that has a rippling effect even though the wind does not blow.  As the telescope's glass close in, I notice a familiar figure flying throughout the sky- the rippling mane, the wings, and the horn.  After a few hours of stargazing, I begin to feel tired.  I slump onto the bed, and then I fall asleep.  That is when I start to dream.......

Instead of the usual nightmares, I am just standing on the balcony of my new home.  The full moon is set perfectly in the sky, and the stars glitter.  Luna appears, and I smile.  "Luna," I said, "What are you doing here?"

"I decide to visit you in your dreams once again, Twilight," She replied.

She nuzzles my mane, and then I blush.  I nuzzle her mane in response.  I then kiss her, and she presses her lips against mine in response.  We make out for a moment, and then we break from the kiss.  "I must help other subjects in their dreams, Twilight. I love you," She said.

I blush once again.  "I love you too, Luna," I replied.
