Blood Omen: Equestrian Blood Bath
2. Keep Your Friends Close...
Previous Chapter... And Your Enemies Closer
Kain sat uncomfortably, wedged between a girl with shimmering purple hair and a girl with hair of varying color. "Thank you," he had said upon being allowed entrance into the hollowed out tree. Everyone was staring at him, wanting an explanation.
After some time of awkward silence, the girl who had let him in spoke, brushing her purple and pink hair out of her eyes. "Were you out there all night?"
"Yes," Kain quickly answered.
"Do you have a name?" The rainbow haired girl asked.
Kain hesitated. "Raziel," he lied.
"Well 'Raz', what brings ya here?" inquired a blonde girl in a stetson, similar looking to the most recent family Kain had fed upon.
"Just looking for a place to stay," Kain answered, calmly.
"You're not from around here, are you?" queried a girl with obnoxiously large, pink hair.
"No, I'm..." Kain thought, "here on business. I won't be staying long."
"Well Raziel, you can stay as long as you need to. We're always happy to have company, right Spike?" The girl with purple and pink hair turned.
A young man with spiky purple hair and green chin fuzz was emerging from the kitchen with a tray of beverages. "Sure," he answered, "we've got a guest room you can stay in." He set the tray down and the girls each took a drink.
Kain waved his hand dismissively. "I'm fine."
"Yes, you are," muttered the girl with purple hair sitting next to Kain, who was eyeing his abs.
"Pardon?" Kain glanced over to the girl, who blushed slightly.
"Nothing," She quickly said. "I'm Rarity, Mister Raziel, and if you need anything, anything at all, do not hesitate to ask."
"Well that's quite generous of you, Miss Rarity," Kain replied.
"That is her Element of Harmony," The rainbow girl replied in a sort of snide tone. Kain looked at her, wanting further explanation. He had heard of these 'Elements' and wanted to know as much as he could. "Yeah," She continued, "Rarity's Generosity, I'm Rainbow Dash, and I represent Loyalty. Pinkie Pie here represents Laughter, Applejack is Honesty, Fluttershy is Kindness, and Twilight Sparkle is Magic." She pointed to each girl, respectively.
Kain relaxed, immensely. He was worried the 'Elements' would be more destructive, and be more of a challenge to over come, but laughter? Kindness? The only real problem might be magic. Lord knows what this Twilight Sparkle girl could do with the power of magic. "Well with introductions out of the way, I think I'll be off to bed. It has been a long night." Kain stood up before adding, "Thank you so much, Miss Sparkle, for your hospitality."
"Of course, Raziel," Twilight smiled, "I can show you to your room, if you'd like."
"I've got it," Rarity stood up, immediately. She cleared her throat and calmed herself, "I mean, I can show him, Twilight. Don't worry yourself."
"Oh," Twilight said, surprised by Rarity's input. "Well, thank you, Rarity."
Kain and Rarity climbed the stairs to the guest room with no words exchanged between the two.
"Here you go," Rarity opened the door and let Kain through. Immediately seeing the sun through the window, he threw the curtains shut, only allowing a small glow to come through. Hearing a small click behind him, he turned around to see Rarity standing between him and the door, a playful smile on her face. "Raziel," She started, "I told you, I would do anything for you, but I don't think you grasped the concept of what i meant."
Kain smiled, but not for the reason Rarity thought he was. this was going to be easier than he thought. "Miss Rarity," He walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders. "What I would ask of you, I don't think you could accomplish."
"Nonsense," Rarity muttered, lost in his brilliant, yellow eyes, "Anything I would do for you, Raziel..."
Kain slowly pulled one of the shoulders of her shirt down her arm, quickening her breath.
"Raziel..." She looked down at her now clearly visible, lacy blue bra, "Aren't you quick."
"You have no idea..." Kain leaned in close to Rarity. She closed her eyes and puckered her lips, leaning into him. She was met with a quick, sharp pain where her neck met her shoulder. Her eyes snapped open to see Kain moving farther from her vision as she fell to the ground. She tried to scream, but no sound came out. Tears rolled down her face, as she realized what was happening. But it was to late. Her vision was blurring, and her heart rate was slowing. The last thing she saw was the shimmer of crimson on Kain's fangs.
"Twilight," Spike said, immediately after Rarity and Kain left, "Are you sure you want that Raziel guy here? He freaks me out."
"Come on, Spike," Twilight shook her head, "A second ago you were all for him staying."
"Yeah well, I just didn't want to get on his bad side." Spike looked over at the stairs leading to the guest room. "There's just something about him that gives me the creeps."
Pinkie Pie popped up behind him, scaring him. "Is it 'cause he looks like a spooky, scary dark lord of reckoning, bent on having every inch of existence bow before his evil, visceral will and to have any flicker of hope cower in the darkest abyss that is his hellish, nightmare of a dream world?"
Everyone stared at the girl. That was an oddly abrupt, yet specific detailing of a theory. As Spike opened his mouth to speak, the cold, monotonous voice of Kain echoed from the lower stair landing, "And what would give you that idea?"
Pinkie giggled. "I just said you looked like that kind of person. It's kinda intimidating, actually."
Kain glanced around the room, "I'm sorry I frighten you. I'll be gone by tomorrow's time." He turned to leave, back up the stairs, but then remembered why he left in the first place, and turned around to look at Twilight, "Your generous friend, Ms. Rarity has had to... step out for awhile." He thought of the quick glances he had of her memories, "She had an emergency with a dress order."
"Oh," Twilight looked at the front door, then back to Kain, "We didn't see her leave. She must have taken the back door. Thank you, Raziel."
"But of course." The broad, alabaster man turned around and headed back up the stairs. That pink girl has to go. She's simply unbearable...
