Dead in civilization
Skeletal Nightmare Part I
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Skullworthy, if we can relate the notes back to the previous scroll it might make more sense." A series of clicks followed. "Yeah that is what I thought, if I could just figure out how to summon and bind it to me..." A few short sharp clicks could be interrupted. "No, I don't think so. But still I could at least lure it to Canterlot, to summon it and then let it run riot in the city."
The scrolls were organised in a orderly fashion, a few were open and had magic markers set up to link to passages. Dead was sat against the bench with a inkwell and quill. Skullworthy was hoovering next to her. "Even if we need a binder and fuel to summon it... We could use one of the princesses! Of course! Either summoning a skeletal horror or a skeletal nightmare of sorts. A high level bone-weaver would be able to make one, but I can't do that yet." Skullworthy let out some clicks. "No. I will not give this up."
The scrolls moved around the room suspended in a white aura. Certain ones falling down to Dead as she took notes before sending them away. "Well by the looks of things this can't be summoned. It just happens when a Necromancer is near a very powerful being." More clicks came out . "I don't think so. I can't at all. Now we can go about gather that life thread." A few short clicks followed by a few long clicks came out. "NO! I haven't given up. I will rule them all. They wronged me!"
"Its just one of those days..." Dead was stood in the town center, alone. The rumbling getting louder every second. It was close. "Alright Dead, I can do this. No need for any minions... Yet anyway." The rumbling picked up to an earthquake and then stopped. "Well you took your time." The ground shook violently and a mound formed in the center of the town square. A Sudden shake threw Dead to the ground and when she gazed up a large skeletal claw that was shrouded in a midnight blue mist that glistened in the moonlight.
A second claw burst from the ground in the same mist as the other. The claws started extending into arms that planted themselves in the ground and heaved. The ground around the arms started to heave up and a disfigured skull appeared, followed by a torso. The creature could not fully uproot itself in its current state. As it was the skeletal beast was stuck in a single spot with only access to its arms.
"Ah look at you. So stuck in the ground..." Dead mocked the creature until it threw a dark bolt of energy at her. "Got a lot of energy in you. Funny I used to dream of summoning something as beautiful as you. Now I dread your very existence." The beast let out a roar which was then followed by another bolt of energy which Dead dodged by the skin on her teeth. "Look stop being so rude. Its not you its me." Dead mocked the beast as it helplessly tried to claw its way out and letting out the odd energy bolt.
"Twilight!" Luna shouted as she the the door to the library open. "We need your assistance!" Luna rushed into the library to find Twilight was drink some tea in the main room reading a book. "Twilight, gather your friends! Bring them to the town center!" Was all Luna said before running out quickly.
The sleepy town was currently echoing with the roars of the skeletal beast. Luna took to the sky and could make out the skeletal beast that was throwing energy bolts around, she flew down just out of range of the bolts and called out to Dead. "You! What is this? What did you do!" Luna called out to the nimble necromancer who was hopping around.
"Not much, just y'know. Stuff" Dead mockingly said as she hopped around the energy bolts and occasionally raised the odd shield.
"What is this 'stuff' you speak of? Have you not noticed what the massive skeletal beast trying to tear its way across the town?" Luna said loudly.
"Oh yeah, that. Try and help me with this." Dead said as she swiftly raised a shield and defended herself from a large blue energy bolt. "I hate to say it but, you need to help me and vis versa."
"Why should we help you? You have done nothing but cause our sister pain."
"Luna, you were in my position. I noticed Nightmare Moon. Most of Equestria did. I'm just trying fit in, surely you could understand my predicament. Now please, help me. If not for me for the people of this town. If this thing gets out we are all dead." Dead said looking over to the skeletal beast that was trying to claw its way out.
"Only for Equestria, this is not an alliance this is..."
"Fine, that is good enough for me." Dead huffed as she kept dodging the swipes of the beast.
"Rainbow! Rainbow!" Rarity called out to the cloud above her, a few rock throws later a moaning could be heard from the house. "Rainbow! Get your lazy flank down here!" Rarity shouted out, she had been woken up by Twilight just as she had gone to sleep.
"Urgh, somepony got up on the wrong side of bed." Rainbow sighed as she came out of her house. "Whats up Rarity?"
"Its Dead, or something like that. Twilight didn't say much. We are needed in the center of town though." Rarity said in a huff as she started walking towards the town hall. "Come on, we need to move." Rainbow flew down and walked next to Rarity.
"Alright, I'm only going because its Dead." Rainbow sighed as they approached the town.
"You still think you have a chance Rainbow? She knows what you tried to do." Rarity sighed.
"Shows what you know, I still got it. Anyway she said it doesn't matter. Meaning I do in fact have a chance. And that is all I need." Rainbow argued as the pair slowly approached the town, unaware of the danger they were in.
