Dead in civilization

"I'm glad you are all here." Twilight announced, the roars and screams of the Skeletal Beast in the background. "We need to formulate a plan. By the sounds of things we might be over our heads. But with Dead and Luna..."

"Twilight," Rainbow Dash interrupted. "We don't have time for a plan. Dead is out there, fighting. She needs our help." Rainbow placed her hoof on Twilight shoulder. "We need to act now. Not later."

"Very well Rainbow. As a brave mare once said! CCCCCHHHHHAAAARRRRRGGGGGEEEEE!!!!!" Twilight cried as the group ran into the town square. "Oh..." Was all Twilight was able to say as she saw both Luna and Dead fighting the Skeletal Nightmare that was submerged in the ground partially.

Luna was hoovering around the beast throwing the odd magical bolt at it. Meanwhile Dead was casting a spell that shot three white bolts of energy at the Beast in a triangle formation. Each time both spells hit the beast it would double back and scream in agony, only to response by unleashing a volley of dark energy.

"This thing Dead, how do we stop it?" Luna shouted out after she noticed Twilight had appeared.

"Its simple. The Skeletal Nightmare. As I have come to name it, was created by a combination of our powers. We both had 'residue' energy. You from being Nightmare Moon and me from being myself. The energies combined to form this creature. Therefore both our powers combined would be needed to stop it." Dead shouted to Luna as she darted around the Beast's claws.

"So what does Twilight and the elements have to do with this?" Luna shouted as she avoided a magical bolt and fired back one in retaliation.

"Not going to lie Luna, if one of us dies they will be the last chance. I doubt you will. But myself... I can't dodge and fly around like you." Dead sighed. "I grow weary Luna. I can't keep this up, I am only a Unicorn after all."

"Do not worry. We can help... If it is needed. " Luna said in a friendly voice as she flew alongside Dead as she dodged a swipe.

At this point Twilight and her friends had started their attack on the Beast. Twilight started used the elements the channel a large amount of power into the spine of the Beast, however what seemed effective at first soon lost its power. The creatures shrugged off the rainbow colored beam and struck down with its claws.

"No!" Dead shouted. "I have had enough. I will end this!" Dead channeled a spell and then threw her energy into the ground. "Rise!" Dead shouted as the ground started to tremble.

"Dead!" Luna shouted. "What have you done?"

"I have done what I must to save those I love." Dead said spitefully. Within moments a skeletal claw poke up from the ground. "Please do not think any less of me... This was a last resort." A few more shakes and a small squad of skeletal dragons burst out of the ground.

The skeletal dragons flew around the beast, occasionally letting out a white burst of fire on the Beast that was trapped. Luna, who was now avoiding the speeding dragons that were in the air landed by Twilight. "Twilight, we need you be on your guard, these skeletons are... unsettling."

Twilight nodded as another swipe from the Beast caused them to break apart. "Luna!" Dead shouted from the other side of the Beast. "Luna! Hit it with everything you got!" Luna nodded and flew up in the air and channeled a powerful spell. The spell flew into the Beast and caused it double back in pain and lose its mist. Under the mist it was a simple bone creature. The dragons flew around it in a diamond formation and channeled a large amount of energy into it. "Yes! Its working!" Dead shouted happily.

The creature wailed in agony, its scream causing Dead and her skeletons to be thrown off focus. At this point Twilight once again used the elements of harmony to fire a strong bolt of energy into it. The Beast fell back in pain and then did not move, each of its bones started to turn into dust and then the dust was blown into the wind.

The small squad of dragons landed and dug underground before anypony could notice them. A cheer could be heard from the nearby houses as the Beast's dust was blown far away. However for Dead the victory was short lived. Withing moments of the creature being defeated she was hit with a bolt of energy that knocked her into a wall and out cold.

"Luna!" Twilight shouted out in protest. "What was that for?" Twilight closed the distance between Luna and Dead as Luna walked towards Dead still body.

"She is not what you think Twilight. She may claim to be your friend, but she is nothing more then a heartless fiend who will stop at nothing to achieve her own goals." Luna said with almost no emotions in her voice. "She has committed unthinkable crimes, not just against Celestia but against nature."

"But she can change! You should know that more then anypony! You changed and so can she!" Twilight shouted out in protest. "Just give her a chance..."

"That is not for me to decide, it is for Celestia. You are more then welcome to join us in returning to Canterlot." Luna said, her voice still remaining devoid of emotions. Luna then picked up Dead with her magic and threw the unconscious mare over her back.

"Luna, you can't just do this..." However before Twilight could finish her sentence Luna had already taken off and was on her way to Canterlot.
