Dead in civilization

"I.. I don't know where we are..." Celestia sighed as the group st down to rest. "I though we were near the end but..." Celestia sat down next to Luna and Twilight.

"Do not worry sister, we are close. I will be able to summon a portal soon enough." Luna said, ever since they had seen the first memory Luna had been devoid of emotions when she spoke. "I can feel it, we are so close... I can make a portal that will take us straight to the Manifestation."

"Alright, good. I think if I stay here any longer I will lose my mind. I can't, believe that this is all in Dead's head." Rainbow Dash said as she looked at one of the burnt down houses.

"Yes, lets try and make a move. I have to agree with Dash here." Rarity said after Rainbow had finished. "If you need any help, anything at all I will try my best."

"It is fine we just need a moment to prepare, this should only take a moment." Luna go up and walked five meters away from the group into a clearing that was between a few burnt houses. The spell she was channeling used a lot of energy when she cast it, however it would recharge her when she passed through it.

After a brief amount of time Luna fired a small blue bolt into the floor. A small purple portal opened above the spot effected. Luna called out to signal the group that she had opened the way for them. The group were now stood in front of the portal. "Luna, why didn't you do this earlier?" Rainbow asked.

"We were not close enough to the manifestation, I knew we would need a portal. It was just a matter of getting close to the center of the nightmare so I could pin point it." Luna said as she stood at the gateway. "Shall we make a move?" The group all nodded and stepped through the portal.

The group was in a small court room. In the center of the court room there was a small chestnut colored filly.

I went all the way to Canterlot. After what I had done I decided it would be best to go tell somepony, but much to my despair the griffon had already flow there. I was arrested and...

"She must be BANISHED!" A younger looking Celestia looked over as a younger looking Luna shouted across the room. The group were at the back of the room.

"I do not wish to relive this." Luna stated as the courtroom Luna shouted. "I was not... Myself." The courtroom fell into silence and the courtroom Celestia passed judgement. At this point the filly in the center started sobbing into the floor. The lights feel dim and only the small filly was in the room.

A door opened at in the other side. And the group made their way across to it. "We need to go, I know this may be hard but we need to move." Celestia said as she moved her across the room. "Let us hurry. I do think I can bear this much longer." Twilight stayed back for a moment as the others had gone across the threshold of the door.

The next room was a large bone platform. At one end stood Celestia and the rest of the group at the other end Dead was stood. Dead was wearing some sort of purple robe that covered the entirely of her body, a Minotaur skull was worn as a headdress and cloth draped across her muzzle left only her eyes showing. The cloth was adorned with various symbols and markings.

"So you are finally hear." Dead hissed at the group as she faced them, an unnatural white energy burned in her eyes. "Since there are five of you I shall give you five questions."

The group looked at each other, finally Luna walked forwards. "What are you?" Luna asked slowly unaware how she was going to answer it.

"You of all ponies should know, you have said several times. I am a manifestation of Dead's past, and as she puts its 'a future she doesn't want.' I exist only to protect her."

Celestia now walked forward to ask a question. "Why are you doing this?" Celestia steadily asked

"I just said, I protect her. Dead, we were once a single pony. But when Twilight came she shed me like a snake sheds it skin, she had hurt herself and was letting other hurt her. I could not allow that so I do what I must and take over."

Twilight now moved forwards she had a bit more time to think of a question. "What will you do if you are able to take over?"

"I will take over the Equestria, I will drive the griffon to extinction and I will make sure nothing ever hurts her again."

Rarity moved forward before Rainbow Dash could of. "How did you come to be? Something like you doesn't just form overnight."

"When she saw her parents die. I was born."

Finally Rainbow Dash came forward. "Where is Dead?"

"I am Dead." Rarity was halfway through a facehoof when.

"No you are not." Rainbow shouted. "You are not Dead!"

"Dead is locked away, in a dream."

"A dream within a dream? Can such a thing even happen?"

"You are out of questions. No more games! It is time for me to claim what is mine!" The Necromancer shouted as she threw a destructive fire spell at the group of five. The group dodged the spell however before they could even think about attacking the Necromancer charged another spell and charged at Celestia. Twilight was able to throw a shield up just as the spell came close to her. "You are nothing but dust! You spend your time helping those. They will only stab you in the back."

The group was in the courtroom again however this time the courtroom version started firing bolt at the group. After a few volleys of magic the group was back on the bone platform. Rainbow was able to pick a large amount of speed up and slammed into the Necromancer, throwing both of them onto the floor. Luna was able to quickly grab Rainbow Dash and once she was clear Celestia fired a bolt and the Necromancer pushing her closer to the edge.

The Necromancer hopped up. "I have had enough of this farce. I will end this!" The Necromancer exploded leaving only a skeleton that was shrouded in a black fire. The white smoke that was coming off the skeleton was intoxicating. "Choke on your last breath!" It shouted. Rarity and Twilight were dodging a large amount of fireballs as Celestia and Luna kept attack the skeleton. The room was now full of smoke and Rarity was chocking on it.

"Twilight... I don't think I can last much longer..." Rarity gasped as she fell on the floor. "Go on without me..."

A sudden gust blew the smoke off. And Rarity started to regain her breath. Twilight turned around and saw Dead, the real Dead. The platform started to appear until everpony was suspended in nothing. The white began to glow bright until the group found themselves awake.
