Dead in civilization
Aftermath
Previous ChapterNext ChapterDead's rapid breathing was a signal that she had awoken, however when she looked around she no longer in the castle. Dead quickly glanced around, it must have been night because of how dark the room was. Dead could just about make out the silhouette that approached her. "Dead," The voice sounded familiar. "Dead! You're awake. How about that!" Dead connected the voice to the one pony she knew spoke like that.
"R-Rainbow? Where am I?" Dead asked as she sat up. "How long was I out?"
"Well..." Rainbow started. "You are in my house... After we all woke up you were still asleep. They moved you into another room but you just rolled of the bed... A lot. I thought it would be a good idea to have you in my house since it is a cloud. Oh and about two weeks." Rainbow shuffled awkwardly around the room.
"Oh... Sorry if I caused any distress." Dead solemnly said as she looked around. "Why is it so dark? And why haven't I fallen to my doom?"
"Well its night. What did you expect? I can't have torches or lanterns in here. They just won't light." Rainbow snapped. "Sorry about that, its late and I had a full day working, if you could believe it. Oh and Twilight cast a spell or something allowing you stay on the cloud for now.. She said it would last a few weeks."
"I don't think the words 'Rainbow Dash has spent a hard days working' can be put in a sentence together." Dead joked as she let out a large yawn. "Wow I was asleep for two weeks yet I'm still tired."
"Its okay, I will just go to the sofa for the night. Not like I haven't been sleeping there for the past two weeks." Rainbow huffed at she walked towards the doorway. However just as she reached it the fluffy cloud door it slammed shut. "Hey! What was the for!" Rainbow half shouted as she turned around.
"Well this bed is big enough for both of us. No sense in making you sleep on the sofa..." Dead blushed slightly as she saw a large grin come over Rainbow's face. "Just not like that in case you were wondering." The smile calm downed slightly however it was still there.
"Can I at least hug you?" Rainbow asked with a slight grin. "Please..?" Rainbow half pleaded.
"Rainbow... Are you begging? For a hug?" Dead asked as the blush deepened.
"Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee... Just for tonight. And I won't tell anypony."
"You won't tell anypony that you hugged me? I don't know... You did trick me..." Dead teased Rainbow, Dead did not normally have the high ground in debates however she was more then happy to take it now.
"Please Dead, I looked after you for two weeks when you were asleep. I went into your dream to try and help you..." Dead sighed, she had lost the high ground.
"Alright..." Dead sighed as she rolled over. "But..." Rainbow had already jumped onto the bed and gone under the covers, she quickly wrapped her hoofs around Dead and pulled her in. "That's fine..." Dead sighed happily as she slowly drifted into sleep.
"Goodnight Dead..." Rainbow sighed as she drifted into a slumber.
Rainbow woke up, her hoofs were still wrapped around Dead. A small grin came over her as the sun started to rise. Dead looked peaceful which was a relief, given that past few days she had tossed and turned and even screamed in her sleep. Rainbow was happy just to see her in her hoofs and settled down, she was so happy she didn't even notice that she had said "Morning beautiful..." And woke Dead up. Still, it was nice to pretend that they had something, even if for just a moment.
"Urgra-gah?" A sleep Dead mumbled, her mane was all over the place rather then its normal style. "Oh sorry. I tend to talk in tongue when I am half asleep." It was funny to think that Dead's mumbling was another language, she could say anything and Rainbow wouldn't have a clue. It was adorable. "I meant to say. Good morning Dash. Sleep well?"
"Yeah, of course!" Rainbow rushed as she released Dead from her embrace. "And how did you sleep?"
"I slept well, considering my recent turmoil. Thank you, for letting me use your bed while I was... Dealing with myself." Dead happily said as she got up. Dead ran her hoof over her hair and straightened the majority of it. "As far as sharing a bed with somepony who is hugging you to death is. It was nice."
"Well I'm glad to hear you slept well, and on my end it was enjoyable as well. So no harm done I guess." Rainbow hopped out of the bed and Dead followed suit. They both made their way down the cloudy stairs and into the main room. "I will make some breakfast if you want. Shouldn't be too hard to make another serving."
"Would you really? I can make myself some food if you need me to." Dead asked in a chirpy tone as she familiarized herself with the layout of the room.
"Its fine, I would be more then happy to whip something up." Rainbow smiled at Dead, at a glance nopony would be able to tell she was a necromancer, or that she had such a scared childhood or suffered emotional pains that nearly overtook her. While Rainbow never fully forgave herself for how she first treated Dead, she would try and make it up to her anyway possible. Rainbow then made her way into the kitchen and started making some breakfast.
"Rainbow!" Dead called out.
"Yeah?" Rainbow hollered back.
"Thanks again, I'm lucky to have friends like you, Twilight and Rarity."
"Don't worry about it Dead, we got your back and you got are back right? That's what friends do isn't it? And hey if I ever need some skeletons summoned. I know who to ask." Rainbow chuckled as she prepared breakfast.
"Yeah, I guess that works out fine. Now what do I have planned for today..."
