Dead in civilization
Dead in Ponyville
Previous ChapterNext ChapterPonyville was a quiet town, not much really happened. Except Nightmare Moon and Discord... And Trixe taking over the town. Well maybe it wasn't such a good idea to bring Dead into the town. Still it had been done and they were at the edge of the forest. Twilight could just about see Fluttershy's cottage. Dead was looking understandably nervous, from where Twilight and Rarity had not been in their houses the previous night the town was somewhat more restless then before. "Hey Dead," Twilight started sounding slightly nervous. "Are you sure you want to do this? We can head back now, but this is your last chance."
Dead took a deep breath. "No its okay, I can do this." Dead sounded shaky and worried. "I will do this! I have faced untold perils, I can do this!" Dead started to sound a lot more perky, within a moments notice she had charged into the small town. Twilight could just make out the sound of Dead yelling 'CHARRRREEEEEGEEEEE' as she stormed into town. Twilight sighed and chuckled to herself.
"Well at least we won't have to worry about introducing her subtly to everypony. Anyway lets catch up before she dives into the deep end." Twilight broke into a spring with Rarity close behind as they attempted to catch up with Dead.
Dead was in the center of the small town, the sounds almost overloaded her. Dead was used to the silent shuffling of the undead, not the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, the single color of bone white, not the giga-rainbow that was the center of town. Dead saw a pony in a stall selling some food items, while Dead hadn't been in any sort of town for decades, she was certain that bits were still the currency. That and Twilight had given her a few. Dead slowly walked up to the stall and went to address the hat wearing pony however the pony beat her to it. "Howdy!" Dead could only imagine what kind of face she was pulling. "What can I get'cha?" Dead glanced over the various treats that were on the stall, taking in the smells.
"I think I will have one of those!" Dead said gesturing to an apple flapjack. "Will this cover it?" Dead brought a few bits out of her saddlebags and placed them on the counter. The Pony on the other-side and nodded and place the treat in and bag and placed it on the counter, she then picked up the bits and took them behind the counter. Dead took the bag in her magical grip. "Thanks!" Dead cheerfully said and left the stall.
As Dead walked away she could just about make out that the Pony had run out of apple flapjacks and would need to bake some more. Dead took a bite out of her apple flapjack and kept on walking.
Twilight and Rarity had entered the town center, after a short debate they decided it would be best to see if Applejack had seen Dead. And then ask Pinkie if she had seen her due to high risk of a welcome party being caused. Withing mere moments of entering the market Twilight imminently spotted Applejack's stall. The two made their way over to the stall. "Hey there Twi, Rarity! You here on a social call? Or business?"
"I hate to say it but we can't buy anything, we are look for a pony." Twilight said rather frantically.
"Uhuh, a chestnut colored mane and fur with a skull as a cutie mark? Yeah, she was here a moment ago. She headed off to Rarity's, but I don't think she knew where she was going." Just as Applejack finished Rarity came rushing in, she had gone to ask any ponies in the market if they had seen her.
"She at my house Twilight, she was has had the good fortune to not bump into to Pinkie, but at some point we will have to meet and greet them." Rarity said as she calmed down. "Just not right now, I don't think she is ready for a Pinkie grade party." Rarity looks around to see if she could spot Pinkie in the crowd, fortunately not bright pink ponies were out.
"Whats the matter with her? She came by and ordered a flapjack then left. Seemed fine to me." Applejack asked with a hint of concern. "Is she ill or something?"
"Oh no Applejack, she just isn't orientated to living with ponies. She has spent most of her life living alone in Everfree." Rarity reassured. "We just found her and are trying to get her to come back, this was all on her request. We didn't just drag her out of the forest and demand she mingle with ponies."
"Alright, be sure to send her down by the farm so we can be properly introduced!" Applejack shouted as the duo left the market and headed towards Rarity's.
Dead was happily nibbling on the flapjack she had brought in Rarity's house, after Rarity had found her wondering around the town she directed her to her house so she could settle down. Rarity and Twilight both came through the door at the same time and only just managed to squeeze through. "Hey you two! There is this pony in the market place, she sells these amazing flapjacks!" Dead finished off the flapjack and look happily at the two.
"That was Applejack," Twilight said happily as she moved sit down in the sofa that was opposite Dead. "She is the element on honesty. I guess that means you only have three left to meet!" Twilight said happily. "This is moving a lot faster then I had hoped, at any rate we will be in Canterlot within a few days!"
"So Dead, how was town then?" Rarity asked.
"It was, like a slice of the past. I felt like I was a foal again. It reminded me of a happy time, a time I was without worry of being found. Anyway it just felt nice. I don't know why I was so scared of it." Dead said happily. "However I am a bit worried if they find out about my past. Still, we will have to cross that bridge when it comes.
