Dead in civilization
New world new perspective
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight, Rarity and Dead were heading towards Apple acres. The group were slowly making their way through back lanes to avoid bumping into Pinkie. Although Dead said she was happy to meet Pinkie, both Twilight and Rarity thought it would be a good idea to leave it for the time being. "As much as I think you would enjoy meeting Pinkie, I just don't think it is practical now. If anypony finds out about your past it may have negative repercussions. Pinkie has been known to... Get ponies noticed." Rarity said as the trio slowly made their way towards the farm. "Maybe tomorrow..."
"Okay then, I guess I can wait a day. Anyway who are we meeting out here?" Dead asked as she happily walked with the group.
"Oh we are going to Applejack's place. You met her earlier, but she asked us to properly introduce her." Rarity said sounding happy. "I'm amazed you we able to adjust so quickly to being around other ponies!"
"Yeah, I am as well. I guess its because I have two good friends to help me adjust!" Dead said happily as she happily trotted towards the farm following Twilight and Rarity.
The farm had fields of apple trees that went on for miles, eventually going over a hill meaning that Dead couldn't see far they went on for. Dead could make out a red stallion pulling a large metal object through a empty field. The orange hat wearing pony that she saw at the market was kicking the tree and knocking the apples down. A smaller pony with a large bow in her hair was running around the tree with a basket attempting to catch said apples. The trio entered the farm and the orange pony quickly noticed them and head towards them.
"Howdy, Twi, Rarity. I see you found your friend." Dead could still not get used to that peppy-accent heavy voice, then again she still wasn't used to ponies speaking, however the pony sounded happy so Dead assumed that she hadn't been found out.
"Hey Applejack," Twilight begun. "Yeah we found her alright. Anyway Applejack, this is..." Twilight gestured for Dead to continue.
"Dead, Dead Quiet. Either name will do. Or you could make up a name, doesn't really matter. Pleased to meet you Applejack." Dead put a friendly smile on and extended a hoof for Applejack to shake it. Applejack extended her hoof and the two shook hoofs for a moment.
"Pleased to meet'cha ummm... Dead." Applejack looked nervous. "Mighty rare name you got there, not many ponies with a name along the lines of that." Applejack chuckled nervously.
"Don't worry, I know how it sounds... Its hard to get a normal name around here let alone have a name that had references to negative aspects." What Applejack had just said reminded her of days when she was the villain, how ponies would go against her and curse her name. Dead had to fight back the emotions and this was not an easy feat. Because of this Dead wanted to do something that would most likely upset Twilight and Rarity. However she remembered that Applejack was the element of honesty and thus she told the truth, no matter how ugly it was. So Dead just tried to reassure her. "Its perfectly fine if you want to call me something else. I have no issues."
"Well I have no problem calling you Dead, if that's your name its your name. Ain't no sense in calling you something else." Dead felt a small smile coming on. Still Dead dreaded to think how she would react if her past was found out.
"Thank Applejack, its nice knowing that ponies have only gotten nicer since I left. Anyway, I will be staying at Rarity's place while I am in Ponyville." Dead smiled happily. "Hopefully we will be seeing a bit more of each other."
It was good that Dead and Applejack had gotten one so well, considering that they had just met. While Dead seemed a bit off at times she was always seemed relatively perky. There was a bit of an unconformable expression on Dead's face when Applejack told Dead her name was odd, but that passed quickly. Twilight's main concern was meeting Dead with Applejack because she was always the one who was the most sense. Pinkie liked everypony not matter what, Fluttershy would get more confident as it went on and Rainbow Dash would be as simple as getting Dead to fan her ego a tiny bit. Of course there was no plan in place for what would happen if they found out about Dead, but Twilight had a rough idea.
While Dead was meeting the rest of Applejack's family Rarity and Twilight decided it would be a good idea to go back to the library and check up on Spike.
As Twilight and Rarity opened the door into the library a pink blur charged into Twilight and threw her to the ground, while send Rarity a few feet back. "YOU!" Pinkie said in a slightly annoyed voice. "You brought in somepony! And you weren't going to tell me!"
Twilight was able to move Pinkie off her so she could have some breathing space. "Pinkie, we were going to tell you. I promise! Its just that she might not react very well to a massive party!" Twilight explained as Pinkie got up and allowed Twilight to get up.
"Oh why didn't you say so! I'l throw a teeny tiny quiet party for them!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Not right now Pinkie, she just needs a few days to get used to civilization." Twilight explained as Pinkie was happily bouncing around the main room of the library.
"Oh was she doing a Bear Grylls?" Pinkie asked.
"A Bear what?" Twilight asked with a confused look on her face.
"You know, out in the wild living of the fatta the lan!" Pinkie exclaimed as she jumped up and down the stairs of the library.
"Ummmm... Anyway you will be able to meet her at some point. Maybe even later today! You might even get along with her." Rarity interrupted as she entered the library.
"Yippe! I can't wait for to meet her. Make sure see meets me before you leave to see Celestia!" Pinkie shouted as she jumped out the window and heading towards sugercube corner.
"How did she know about Celestia?" Rarity asked with a very concerned face. However before Twilight could even responded her expression turn into a warm smile as both her and Twilight said at the same time.
"Its Pinkie, its best to leave it at that!"
