Dead in civilization

The frantic pounding on the front door was enough to get Rarity away from Dead for a moment so she could think about what Dead may have been implementing. According to Dead, Rarity was asleep for an hour, the clocks proved it however the grey clouds that hung overhead made it hard to see where the sun was. The sound of heavy raindrops hitting the skylight could be heard throughout the shop. After what seemed like an eternity of walking Rarity finally reached the door and opened it to a soaking wet Rainbow Dash.

"Oh hello Rainbow, enjoying the weather out there?" Rarity teased as she levitated a towel to a soaking wet Rainbow. "My word it looks as if you have gone swimming!" Rarity chuckled heartily as Rainbow snatched the towel and started to dry herself.

"My house! My cloud! The storm... It charged it!" Rainbow managed to say before she fell to the floor drained of energy. "It was... Awesome." Rainbow smiled as she got back on her hoofs.

"Rainbow, you would have been better off flying to Twilight's or Fluttershy's house, why on Equestria did you come here?" Rarity asked, however she knew the answer.

"Oh y'know I thought I would check up on my old pal Rarity..." Rainbow said as she wrapped her hoof around Rarity shoulder in a friendly manner.

"You came here because you wanted to spend the night in the same house as Dead. Didn't you." Rarity said flatly, while she knew that they both had some sort of feelings for Dead, Rarity was not as open about hers.

"Pretty much, but also to check on you. I know Twilight has that spell and Fluttershy had a new lightning rod installed. It would have been way too risky flying to Applejack's place in these condition so your house seemed to be the best one to check up on. And well Pinkie is Pinkie. It wouldn't surprise me if she was having a party on top of the storm."  Out of all the excuses Rainbow had made to be with somepony this was the longest, and the one that made the most sense.

"Okay then Dash, you can stay the night..." Rarity sighed however she did not expect Rainbow to wrapped her hoofs around her and give a huge bear hug.

"Thanks Rarity!" Rainbow said as she released Rarity and trundled into the main room. Rarity let out a sigh and then followed her into the room. Dead was sat on the sofa smiling to herself about something.

"Hey Rainbow! You look a tad bit wet." Dead chuckled as Rainbow was still damp from the rain. Dead turned to Rarity. "Look like that giga-storm is coming over. Funny things those. They appear in the deepest parts of Everfree. Then they vanish. Then they appear somewhere else!"

"I was wondering why it was raining so hard. Its kind of relaxing after a while." Rarity moved ahead of of Rainbow and took the place next to Dead. "Still we managed it at your house."

"Wait... You slept over her house! When did this happen and why was I not invited." Rainbow asked as she took a seat. Next to Rarity, she half pouted as she sat down.

"Oh yes Rainbow, when we first met her... Well second time or was it third? But yes a storm came in and we had to sleep at Dead's for the night."

Dead got up and headed to the kitchen. "Mind if I make some tea? I mean if that's okay with you Rarity."

"Fine by me, Rainbow would you like some tea?"

Rainbow didn't normally have tea however since Dead was making it she considered it. "Sure why not... Can't be that bad." Once Rainbow had finished Dead promptly got up and made her way to the kitchen, leaving Rarity and Dash alone in the room.

A silence was in the room briefly as the two mares were sat down. After a few moments Rarity spoke up and broke the silence. "So Rainbow... Are you still, how do they say it..."

"Whatever you're gonna say I will just say yes and hope that it involves Dead." Rainbow laughed as Rarity frowned.

"Do you have to be so forward about it? You could at least try and be subtle about it." Rarity sighed, she knew Rainbow wouldn't change her ways, but all Rarity wanted a chance.

"Yeah, but if I try and be subtle about it I will miss my chance. And also everpony knows that shes mine now." Rainbow said in a sinister tone as an evil grin overcame her face. It became evident that Rainbow was not aware of Rarity's feelings for Dead. "So Rarity, I have a favor to ask... Do you think you could put in a good word for me? I'm kinda worried that she thinks less of me after we first met."

Rarity sighed. "I will see what I can do..."

"What the matter Rarity? You sound a bit upset." Rainbow asked in a concerned voice.

"Don't worry, its nothing." Rarity turned her cold gaze to the floor. Rainbow noticed this and placed her hoof on her chin, cogs slowly grinding in her head in an attempt to come to conclusion. Rarity noted the rather blank look on Rainbows face and attempted to stop her coming to the inevitable conclusion . "Rainbow, are you alright? Do you need some help?" Rarity hoped that this would snap her out of the trance like state she was in. However the hope died away when Rainbow started to mover her mouth slowly as her brain had come to a conclusion.

"Rarity, are you in love with her as well?"

"I...I..." Rarity tried to form together a sentence however the shock of Rainbow catching on had made her mind go blank temporary.

The clatter of a plate with three tea cups on it being placed pulled Rarity back into reality.
