The Regret*

Cadance was sat in a small fortress of books and tomes. A small fishbowl with skeletal goldfish was positioned in front of her. Cadance once again read over the spell and aimed it at the lifeless fish. A white bolt fired out of Cadance's horn and flew towards the fishbowl, the magic passed through the glass and hit this fish. The fish sparked to life and started swimming around happily, a bright smile came over Cadance.
The skeletal goldfish stopped and started to shake, white fire began pouring out of its empty eye sockets. The bowl steamed up and cracks start to form. The water evaporated and the glass shattered. The fish flailed around and then its energy faded. "Cruses! I was so close!" Cadance shouted out in the empty library.
"You're doing it all wrong you know, you shouldn't be using a bone weaving spell to animate a skeleton." Nazz's mocking voice shot across the library. "Did you not read Bone-weaving for dummies?" Cadance sighed and crossed her hooves. She collapsed the fort she had made and move to books to a bookcase. "Now, now Cadance. No need to be snappy. Your attempts to raise the dead have kept me awake..."
"Well soooorrrryyyyy!" Cadance sarcastically said. "Not everyone can do this stuff first time..."
"Cadance, I'm not trying to rub salt in your wounds. If you want help just say. I am a teacher here after all." Nazz sat down next to Cadance.
"I guess I'm just grouchy. I was so sure I would be able to pick this up quickly, but the only thing I have been able to do is explode the skeletons." Cadance sighed and rested her head on the table. "I followed what the book said..."
"I know what you are doing wrong. Most necromancers who aren't natural born necromancer pour too much energy into the skeletons. This causes it to implode on itself. Also, you are still using a Bone-weaving spell to raise the dead. That is something only Dead has done."
"You use that term, Bone-weaving. Is that a sub school?" Cadance said, raising her head.
"Yes, Bone-weaving is the manipulation of bone. I do a little of it, but I prefer skull magic. I can tell you about that!" Nazz laughed. "If you want to know more about Bone-weaving go ask Dead, I'm sure will tell you a bit."
Cadance paused, she considered going to Dead, but remember how she direct Rarity to her and decided against it. "Hm, skull magic? I have never heard of it. Is it like shadow magic?"
"Not at all! Now skull magic is..."
Rarity woke up but her eyes remained shut. The room was warm however she could feel a very warm and soft object in front of her. Rarity tried to think back to the previous night, before she had fallen asleep. She remembered being in Dead's office, but she didn't remember leaving the office.
Rarity mulled over the night again, it was hazy at best. She remembered the door locking and opening. She remembered that she locked it but couldn't remember why she did. Rarity creaked open one of her eyes, it darted around the dimly lit office room. The desk had been moved and turned against the wall, to allow more space. Rarity opened her other eye and looked around, she noticed nothing new.
Rarity tried to move, but she found that her hooves were wrapped around something, something warm. Rarity's eyes slowly looked down to see what she was hugging. Rarity gulped and tried to pull away when she saw that she was squeezing Dead into her. Rarity was able move two of her hooves, however her position of her other two meant that she would not be able to move them without moving Dead.
Rarity sighed, she knew she wasn't able to move away without waking Dead. Rarity wrapped her hooves back around Dead and pulled her into her embrace. Rarity slowly remembered the events that took place before she fell asleep. "Oh Dead..." Rarity sighed. "Why did you do it?" Dead shuffled slightly and mumbled, Rarity held her breath worrying that she had woken up. However Dead settled again, the movement aloud Rarity to stand up. Rarity sat down next to Dead and gently stroked her mane. Dead stirred slightly.
Rarity gently hushed Dead and went over to do the door. The magical seal that was preventing Rarity from leaving was still in place. Rarity went over to Dead and thought about what she could do. She could wake Dead up, but she didn't know how she would react, or she could wait for Dead to wake up by herself.
"Urfffff..." Dead moaned as she started to stir. "Urgh..." Dead opened her eyes and looked at Rarity. "Rarity? What are you doing here?" It was evident that Dead did not remember the night as well as Rarity. "Wait... Does it have something to do with why I need a shower?"
"Yes..." Rarity admitted. "What happens now?" Rarity asked.
"What do you mean?" Dead asked as she got up. "I'm personally going to go have a shower."
"I'm talking about last night. What happened?" Rarity walked over to do. "We can't pretend it never happened."
"What happened you say?" Dead smirked. "You tell me what happened."
"Don't make me spell it out. I'm not happy with you... Why did you do that last night?" Rarity glared at Dead.
"I told you so many times. You needed it, you were bottling your emotions up. You needed some form of release."
"That doesn't make what I did the right thing. I forced myself upon you... You clearly didn't want it, nor were you comfortable with it."
"Friends do things they don't like for each other..."
"But not that! That's... I can't even explain how bad it is."
"I was just trying to help Rarity... I could see how much this was hurting you..."
"You just made it worse! And the fact that you act so casually about it makes it so much worse. Why can't you see that it did more harm then good?"
"It seemed to make you better last night..."
"What would Ditzy say? Did you think about her?"
"Yes, but Ditzy isn't here. Its just me and you."
"That doesn't make it okay..."
"But last night, you said you loved me."
"I do..." Rarity sighed, she focused on Dead's slowly tearing eyes. "But its not right if you don't return it. I could never do what I did to you last night again." Dead moved and positioned herself in front of Rarity. "Dead what are you doing?" Rarity asked. Dead just smiled gingerly at her. "Dead, I don't feel... MMMMMMPPPPPHHHHHH!" Rarity squawked as Dead locked her lips onto Rarity's, Dead then pulled Rarity down on top of her and let it go from their.
"So Rarity... Never going to do what again?" Dead teased. Dead ran her hoof through Rarity's mane.
"I wish you wouldn't pounce on me..." Rarity sighed. "Now what?" Rarity buried her muzzle into Dead mane.
"I definitely need a shower." Dead laughed as Rarity jumped off of her and aloud her to get up.
"What about Ditzy?" Rarity asked as she got up.
"We can make it up to her, I'm sure of that." Dead said as she started charging a spell. "Coming?"
"What do you mean 'we can make it up'? Dead!?" Rarity called out. Dead started casting her teleportation spell and Rarity quickly jumped into its radius. Rarity was suddenly blinded by a flash of light and when she regained her sight she was in a clean room made of bone that had no doors or window.
"Ah my old shower block, nothing says privacy like a bone chamber submerged underground." Dead chuckled. "So Rarity, what were you saying?"
"What did you mean when you said we would have to make it up to Ditzy?" Rarity asked as Dead opened a compartment in the room.
"I will leave that up to you..." Dead pulled some shampoos and conditioner out. "Now, you first or me?" Dead said as the roof of the box started raining warm water on the pair.
