Banned From Equestria

I ran out of the barn as fast as I could while I heard magic bolts hurled in my direction.

“Well, I screwed up big time.” I said glumly.

I turned behind me to see if Rarity was still in pursuit; she wasn’t. I turned to face the direction I was running and saw a yellow pony, her eyes wide. I couldn’t stop myself in time and ran right into her. She screamed bloody murder, and I thanked Celestia on how lucky I was to still be in the countryside, because nopony heard her. I repeatedly apologized to her, and I recognized her as the mare I spoke to almost a week ago. She whimpered in response. I asked her what her name was “My name is…Fluttershy.” I had actually almost heard her name this time.

“Flutter…Fluttashoo?” I asked her.

“No…No…it’s, um, Fluttershy.”

I figured that if I kept guessing her name wrong, it may just convince her to speak loudly.

“Futtashoo? Flutashloo?”

“No…It’s…Fluttershy.” She spoke a little louder. She began to study something on my face and then gasped. “Oh no! Are you hurt? What hurt you?” I felt around my face, feeling a tinge on my eye.

So Rarity gave me a black eye, eh? Hopefully Spike didn't stick around long enough to see that part.

“Oh, I uh, tripped over a log and hit my eye on a rock.” The yellow mare stared at me, as if asking me if she looked stupid enough to fall for that.

“I meant to say that I…I got a marshmallow stuck in my eye. And it burned my…coat…because…marshmallows burn…You know what, screw it never mind, I got punched”. I told her.

She gasped expressively and said with the softest voice ever “Oh no, I need to get you some medicine right away!” I shrugged and began to follow her, thinking it humorous that she was reacting this much to a simple black eye. I figured we were going back to Ponyville, so I attempted to make small talk. I learned that her name was Fluttershy…and that was all I got to learn as we arrived at her house.

“What, ah, what are we doing here? Is this your house?” I asked her.

She turned back to me and nodded. “I’m going to get the medicine. Just stay right here and try not to move.” She said again, in that soft voice. When she opened the door, a small white rabbit slipped between her hooves. She apparently didn’t notice as she continued inside. I stared at the rabbit as he stared back at me. He furrowed his eyebrows and scowled at me. I did the same back to him. He attempted to push my hoof so I immediately knocked him over, and he tumbled into an adjacent stream.

Uh…

Fluttershy came back out, with a happy look on her face. “Here’s the medicine for you.” I took it and was about to ask her what the catch was. I bit my tongue and simply thanked her for it. We both sat awkwardly while I struggled with the medicine. While I knew basic functions like walking and other things, I still didn't have complete mastery over my hooves. She took it from me, and gently said “Here. Let me get that for you.” Once she applied the ointment, I thanked her and began to walk away. “Um…” I heard her stammer. I turned to face her.

“Yes?”

“Um…I was…wondering…” she began again. I waited for her to say something. “…ah…if you…could…uh…” Figuring she wanted help with something, I nodded my head. “Oh. Good…you see, I needed to go to the EverFree Forest to get some ingredients for dinner tonight.” She went inside her house to grab bags, when I noticed the white rabbit come out of the stream. He was soaked. I couldn't help but laugh, and he just stared at me with disdain. Fluttershy came back out and saw the bunny. “Oh, Angel Bunny! What have I told you about playing in the stream? You could drown!” She dried him off rapidly and placed him in a nearby garden, giving him a carrot. “Now then Angel, you stay nice and dry here, OK?” She came back over to me and I noted her incredible Kindness.

“Let’s get going.” I said.

And with that, we headed off to the EverFree Forest.
