The tribe had been quick to warm up to Thomas when he told them of the Crystal Empire. Whether it was their lust for the crystals, hatred of the other ponies, or both, the Diamond Dogs eagerly accepted his offer. Thomas was treated like an honored guest amongst the dogs. They had fashioned a tiny cave just for him. "Remember, pony," The stocky mutt known as Fido reminded him. "We expect a kingdom of crystals. If we can't have it, you'll pay." Thomas scoffed at the remark. "Don't worry at all. I gave you my word, didn't I?" He replied, poking his makeshift bed (which was merely a pile of rubble). "And another thing, don't call me pony. My name is Thomas, and you'll address me as such." Fido gave him a confused look. "Thomoose?" He repeated, trying to get the pronunciation right. "A stupid name, if you ask me." He mumbled as he left Thomas to himself.

When Thomas was alone, he pulled out his map. Ugh, I didn't expect these mutts to be so stupid. He thought as he marked a trail on the map. Although he had an entire army of Diamond Dogs, they wouldn't be enough to hold the line against the entirety of both Cadence and Celestia's guard. I'll need more than just the Diamond Dogs. He thought as he looked at the map. While looking at the map, he noticed Canterlot's castle not too far from their trail. Octavia. He smiled, thinking of his beloved waifu. It'll be extremely risky, but I have to see my waifu at least once before I conquer my kingdom. Hell, if she falls in love with me, she'll make a great queen on the throne beside me in the Crystal Empire.

After studying the map long enough, Thomas came to a conclusion. "I've got it!" He exclaimed as he raced out to the tribe. Although it was nearly impossible with the numerous caves, Thomas managed to flag down Rover. "You!" Thomas said, galloping up to him. "Get the other leaders up to my room this instant! I figured out how we'll take over the empire!"

Once all of them were in his room, Thomas began telling them the details of his plan. "So, how will we get this shiny empire?" Rover asked, looking at the map. "Well, it won't be an easy trip, I'll tell you that much. You see this?" He said, pointing to a mark on the map. "This is where we are right now. This line is the path we'll need to take to get to the Crystal Empire. We're going to have to circle around every town so we aren't seen. After we get here, we'll need to get onto a train."

"But how will we get onto a train?" Fido asked. "If you haven't noticed, our people aren't seen kindly by ponies." "That's when the hard part starts. While you guys stay away, I will be going into Canterlot alone to request a train for my 'symphony'. I think I know someone who will help us out with that." He explained, thinking of Octavia. "You make a formidable plan, Thomoose." Fido admitted. "However, there is one thing on the map that I don't understand." "What is it?" Thomas asked. "What is this area we're stopping at here?" Fido asked, pointing at the map. "Oh, that?" Thomas asked. "That's where we'll be recruiting the dragons."
