David Jensen

The streets of Canterlot had been extremely crowded. David could hardly move through the streets without bumping into somepony. Even at night this place is busy. I guess it's just like back home. He thought to himself, thinking of the cities back on Earth. Like some of his friends, David had made a plan on what to do with his new life in Equestria. With his experience in producing music, he figured he'd be able to get a job at a night club or other place that would allow him to play music to earn himself some bits.

Knowing the others, they probably forgot they'd have to make a living in Equestria as much as Earth. He thought as he looked at the map. So, it looks like Hoofbeat is the nearest club around here. If I could get a job there, I'll only need a place to stay. After making a few turns, David arrived at the club. There was hardly a line at all at the club, at most 3 or 4 ponies were waiting to enter. Cutting the others in line, David went up to the bouncer.

"The hay do you want?" The bouncer asked him, looking down on him. David was taken back by the cold tone, but he recomposed himself quickly. "Well, it looks like the party in there's not doing so well. Luckily for you guys, I can liven the place up a bit." He responded. "Sir, we don't allow any drugs in the facility." The bouncer replied, glaring. "No, that's not what I meant." David replied, laughing. "I meant I could do a bit of work with the ol' DJ booth, if you know what I'm saying?" "Another disc jockey?" The bouncer scoffed. "Look, kid, we get enough requests as it is. You're better off just leaving now before I have to make you leave."

"Woah, hold on there, bud!" A voice rose from the side. A blue-haired unicorn had came out of the side exit and was walking towards them. Her hair was styled ridiculously and she wore oval, purple shades that hid her eyes. Vinyl? David thought to himself. I forgot that she existed. Maybe she'd be willing to hook me up! "Starting a career in the music industry's tough these days. Everyone's saying that they're music's bomb and they could make an amazing mix in less time it takes to load up their software." She told the bouncer, taking her glasses off. "If this stallion thinks he's got what it takes to make it out in Canterlot, he should definitely show off some of his music." She smiled at him.

She thinks I'm one of those morons who just throw samples together. David thought, frowning. For such a loved background character, he thought she wouldn't have at least been such a cunt. "As much as I'd love to give you guys some tracks tonight, I'm afraid I don't have any of my equipment on me at the moment." He said. "Truth is, I was hoping the job came with some stuff. I kind of left all my gear back home." "Well, if you really think you have a chance of getting this done, I'll give you until tonight to make a track that'll get the crowd in a frenzy. Hay, I'll even give you some of my old equipment to borrow!" She said, rummaging through her bag. After looking through many parts, she pulled out an old laptop from her bag. "It's pretty slow, but it's got the software you need. I'll see you tomorrow." She laughed as she left him there.

"Is she always such a bitch?" He asked the bouncer when she was out of sight. The bouncer grunted, paying no mind to him. "Yeah, you too buddy." David told the bouncer as he grabbed the laptop in his mouth and went off. For a place built upon friendship, this place is pretty cold. He thought to himself.
