Here, have some adorable Solar moments to get Discord off your mind!

CHAPTER ELEVEN: Getting It Off My Mind

I sat in Solar's room. I was watching the little guy crawl his way around his bed.

I sighed.

Solar looked up at me with those big eyes and crawled over to me. He fell over and landed on my lap. He smiled at me playfully.

I rubbed his head lightly, smiling at him weakly.

It had only been two days since Discord died. Ever since then I've been hanging out with Solar, trying to get my mind off it. Sometimes it helped, other times it didn't. Today wasn't one of those days.

Solar picked up a toy rubber ball and threw it across the room. The little guy was easily entertained. I got up and approached him. I scooped him up and put him on my back.

“Wanna go for a ride little guy?” I asked him.

Solar responded with big sparkling eyes and a wide smile.

I smirked. “Let me go and get mom.”

I flew a little above the ground. When Silvermoon saw me, she screamed.

“What?” I said.

“Solar could fall off!” She yelled. She grabbed Solar and held him close.

Maybe she's a little... too protective.

She'll grow out of it. I hope.

I waved my hoof. “He was holding on tight. Come on, I'm gonna take him for a little ride.”

“Fine... just be safe, okay?”

“No problem.” I said. I took out the foal carrier and strapped it on my chest. Silvermoon handed Solar to me and I put him in. He squealed in delight.

D'aaaawwww...

I opened the door and shot up to the sky. I lowered my eyes and saw Solar facing up. He was smiling and had his mouth wide open at the sky. I landed on a cloud, and laid on my back.

Solar nuzzled his face on my chest.

D'awwwww!

I tapped his head and he looked up at me.

“Wanna go see Uncle David and Auntie Dash?” I asked him.

Solar suddenly looked excited.

“I take that as a yes.” I said. I rolled over, careful not to squash Solar and drifted towards Cloudsdale. When we arrived, I instantly saw Rainbow Dash's house high in the sky. I spread my wings and shot up.

I knocked on the door a few times. David opened it.

“Hey Dorchester, and who's this cute little guy?” David asked me.

“My son, Solar.” I said.

“Oh shit, I can't believe I missed the birth! That reminds me! Me and Dash got some great news!”

I think we ALL know what that news is going to be.

I think it's sweet.

Pfft, you would.

I saw Rainbow Dash taking a nap on the couch. David nudged her.

“Hey, Dashie. Dorchester's here.” David said quietly.

RD made a sudden snoring sound and woke up instantly.

“Oh, hey Dorchester!” Rainbow Dash greeted me with a hug.

“Aw! Is this your son I've been hearing so much about from Twilight?” Dash asked.

I chuckled. “Yeah.”

“Isn't he just the cutest little guy?” Rainbow Dash said. She booped Solar on the nose, who then made a loud, happy giggle.

“He's easy to entertain.” I said.

David coughed.

“Yes?” RD said.

David smiled.

I saw Rainbow Dash blush. “Oh... yes. Me and David have got some great news! You can put Solar down, if you want.”

“Yeah, sure.” I said. I took Solar off, and put the foal carrier in my saddlebag.

Solar began to crawl and wander the large living room.

“So,” I said.

“What have you got to tell me?”

David put his arm around Dash.

“Awhile ago I went to the doctors, and I found out... I was pregnant.”

I clapped my hooves together and smiled. “That's great! Congratulations!”

“Wait, wait. I'm not done yet.”

I cocked my head.

“I'm pregnant. With twins.”

I clapped my hooves together again. “That's amazing! I'm so happy for you!” I said.

“R-Really?” Rainbow Dash said nervously.

“Even after all I've done?”

I shook my head, laughing. “Of course! Life is something that should not... be... wasted.”

I put my head down.

“Maybe now wasn't the exact best time to tell him.” David said.

I put my head back up. “No, no. It's fine. I've been looking for something to get my mind off of Discord. This is great! Who else have you told?” I asked. Solar had climbed up onto the sofa and was now climbing like a monkey around David and Rainbow Dash.

“Hey little guy, don't be too rough okay?” I said.

Solar blinked at me and nodded happily. He fell over into Rainbow Dash's lap. He giggled happily as Rainbow Dash began to play and fondle with him.

“We've already told Lance and Twilight, Greg and Pinkie Pie, Peter and Rarity, and we where just about to send a letter to the royal family when you showed up.”

I laughed. “Well, I won't keep 'em waiting! C'mon Solar, we gotta go!”

David put his hooves out. “No! No! Stay, have some lunch with us!”

“Really?” I asked.

“Yeah! My treat!”

I put my hoof on my chin. I stroked my goatee, damn... I had to shave a little bit.

“Really?” I asked slyly.

David groaned with a small smile. “Yes, please.”

I chuckled. “Alright, alright. C'mere you little rascal!” I said as I got up and went after Solar. He jumped up, trying to fly away. He landed on his bottom and began to laugh.

“He's just like Spark when he was younger. Full of energy, never sad.” Rainbow Dash laughed.

I scooped him up. He sat on my back, laughing.

“I sure hope he isn't full of energy all the time. I don't think I could handle all that.”

Solar wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me. He made a slight purring sound.

D'AAAAAWWWW!!!

Meanwhile...

“Ha ha ha! This is great! Watch as these two struggle to see... but are forced to stay away like magnets!”

Luce roared with laughter. He took great pleasure in Annabel's and Discord's struggle. He had taken their souls and began to treat them like puppets.

Nightmare howled with laughter beside him.

“My lord! This is great! Without these two at their disposal, what hope do they have?”

Luce wiped a tear from his eye with his massive wing and looked at Nightmare.

“And is if they think The Shadow could help them? Ha! The thought makes my sides ache!”

Nightmare got up from watching Annabel and Discord try to make contact with each other through the glass wall. Luce had put an unbreakable glass wall between Annabel and Discord, so they could see each other. But not make any contact whatsoever.

He walked over to see the progress made on the last bit of Luce's wing armor.

“My lord, they are almost done!”

Luce grinned, baring his jaws.

“Perfect... when will it be finished?

Nightmare faced the workers.

“When will the armor be finished?” He barked.

“A month!” Someone yelled over the deafening roar of work. Metal scratching against metal, and the banging sound of the tribal drums, the scratching sound of ancient demonic symbols being put onto the armor. It was music to Luce's ears...

“A month? I guess I could wait that much longer... I shall let Equestria enjoy it's final Nightmare Night...” Luce sneered. Discord looked up, and made a rude gesture at Luce.

“Try all you want! Nothing will save you two!” Luce roared. He uncurled his body, his massive armor fit perfectly on Luce's back. His helmet felt like a feather upon Luce's head, everything was perfect.

“Now with two powerful beings of chaos magic... and Vinetion's power, nothing will stop me!” Luce roared with laughter. His massive snake like body curled around the small room that contained Annabel and Discord.

“Why don't you come down here, and face me you cowardly snake!” Discord challenged.

“A snake am I? Well then, let me show you how snake like I can be!” Luce opened his mouth to reveal his massive jaws. The roof of his mouth had hundreds of rows of sharp snake venomous fangs.

“With these, I will poison Equestria, watching as it slowly dies!”

Luce's massive armored snake like body curled around like a boa constrictor around the room.

“With this, I will squeeze the very life out of the universe!”

Luce opened his mouth again, this time wider. Discord gasped.

“And with this... I will rip whatever is left to shreds!”
