CHAPTER SIXTEEN: The Royal Wedding Pt. 1

I sat at a picnic with The Mane Six. I wanted to spend some time with them, after all.

I chewed on my hay sandwich, and then washed it down with some water. Suddenly, Spike came running over the hills, looking urgent.

“Twilight! Twilight!” Spike gasped when he reached us.

“What is it, Spike?” Twilight asked.

“I've got... a letter...” Spike gasped. He fell to the floor, and burped out a letter. Twilight read it out loud.

“Dear Twilight, I am sure you are excited as I am about the upcoming wedding in Canterlot.”

“Wedding?” She gasped, smiling weakly.

I facehoofed. “Shit! I forgot to tell you, there was a wedding!”

Twilight rolled her eyes and kept reading.

“I will be presiding over the ceremony, but would very much like you and your friends to help with the preparations for this wonderful occasion. Fluttershy, I would like you and your song birds choir to provide the music.”

Fluttershy squeaked with delight. “Oh my goodness! What an honor!”

“Pinkie Pie, I can think of no one more qualified than you to host the reception.”

Pinkie Pie did a cartwheel towards Twilight. “Hip, hip, hooray!”

“Applejack, you'll be in charge of the catering for the reception.”

“Well, color me as pleased as punch!”

“Rainbow Dash, I would very much appreciate if it you could preform a Sonic Rainboom as the bride and groom complete their I do's.”

Rainbow leaped into the air smiling brightly. “Yes!!”

“Rarity, you will be responsible for designing the dresses for the bride and her bridesmaids.”

Rarity's face went to one of shock. “Princess Celestia wants me to help with the wedding dress... for a Canterlot wedding?! I...” Rarity fell back, smiling.

“Dorchester, I want you to make sure that the bride stays safe.”

My eyebrows shot up. “Cool, I get to meet the bride AND make sure she's safe? Awesome!”

“And as for you Twilight, you will be playing the most important role of all: Making sure that everything goes as planned.

Twilight looked at the letter for a few moments. “I don't understand... who's getting married?”

Spike got up. “Oh, yeah. Probably should have given this letter to you first.”

He handed her a letter.

“Princess Celestia cordially invites you to the wedding of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and...”

Twilight's eyes widened.

“My brother?!”

I spit out my water all over Spike. He gave me a nasty look.

“Shining Armor... is your brother?!” I said.

Twilight looked at me. “I never told you, did I? How... when... who is this Mi Amore Cadenza anyway?!”

I chuckled. “I don't know. Must be from a different royalty group.”

Apple Jack approached Twilight.

“Well shucks Twilight! Ya'll never told us 'bout your brother!”

Twilight looked down. “Shining Armor was my BBBFF...”

“What?” I said.

“Big Brother Best Friend Forever.” She said.

I nodded my head. “Oh, okay. Still seems weird though.”

“Me and him used to do everything together before I left for Ponyville! When I was a young foal, before studying friendship of course, Shining was my only real friend.”

I clapped my hooves together. “Well then! I'm sure you're happy!”

Twilight threw the note on the ground. “Happy?! He could have told me a long time ago! But he had to tell me by LETTER?”

Fluttershy looked up. Shyly.

“Well... at least he didn't tell you at the last minute.”

Twilight looked at Fluttershy.

“The wedding is tomorrow.” She said.

“Oh...”

I hit the side of my face with my hoof. “Might as well tell Silvermoon! Drop off Solar at  the nursery.” I said.

“Yeah, you might wanna do that.” Rarity said, getting up from her state of shock.

Meanwhile... well... go back a few days

“Ah, a royal wedding! I was looking for more ponies to torture!”

“Yes my lord! Between the captain of the royal guards, Shining Armor and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!”

Luce's eyes perked up. “Are one of them... magical?”

Nightmare gulped. “Yes my lord. In fact, both of them are! Princess Cadenza is an alicorn while Shining Armor is a unicorn.”

Luce nodded. “Good... good... you know Nightmare, I have one last trick up my scales that might just get me out of this place early.”

“And what would that be, my lord?”

Luce turned his head from his portal and grinned at Nightmare.

“Steal there magical power!”

Nightmare smirked. “I like that idea, my lord.”

“Yes... but how to get into the wedding without being stopped?”

Nightmare opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by Luce's gasp.

“I've got it... I'll send in an old colleague of mine.”

Nightmare opened his mouth again. “But who?”

Luce Danneggiato turned his head to gaze at The Mane Six, with Dorchester flying away towards his home. He smiled with delight.

“Queen Chrysalis...”

Okay! Back to Dorchester after the picnic!

“You're right! The wedding is tomorrow and we'll be staying the night at the castle!” Silvermoon said.

“Yeah, I was also asked by the princess herself to make sure nothing bad happens to Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!”

I put my hoof on my chest proudly.

Silvermoon smiled. “That's great news! I'm sure she'll like you!”

“I know, I hope she likes me too.” I said.

The Next Morning...

Since I already lived in Canterlot, I didn't have to worry about taking the train. So I awaited the arrival of my friends in the front the palace.

“Wedding's do bring our the odd sort.” Rarity said as she exited the train followed by the rest of the Mane Six, tagged along with Lance.

When Pinkie Pie appeared, she sneezed out... confetti?

Silvermoon looked at me with a disturbed face. I shrugged.

“Oh yeah, we'll I'm going to give him a piece of my mind!” Twilight said. She brushed passed me and Silvermoon, looking very grumpy.

“What's got her on edge?” I asked Lance.

He waved his hoof. “Oh, Twilight's just being a bitch. Like always...”

I raised my eyebrow. “Break...”

“Oh fine, you got me.” Break said. He gave Lance control again.

“I'm going to fucking kill him for that...” Lance hissed.

I laughed. “I guess Twilight's still pissed about Shining Armor not telling her about the wedding sooner.”

Lance nodded. “Hey, Twilight also told me you were supposed to take care of the princess?”

I clapped my hooves together. “Oh yeah!” I said.

I kissed Silvermoon good-bye, and made my way towards the castle.

I was greeted by Princess Celestia.

“Ah, Dorchester. It's so good to see you again.”

“Likewise.” I said.

“Princess Mi Amore Cadanze is upstairs with her bridal maids, you might want to hurry. She's very stressed and is need of some assistance.”

I saluted. “Of course your highness!”

I ran upstairs, and knocked on all the doors (one of them had some... interesting noises coming from it...) until I found a very pink alicorn, surrounded by three other mares.

Princess Cadanze turned around to face me.

“Oh. You must be my guide?” She said.

“Yes princess! I must say, it is an honor being here with you.”

“Yes, I guess it is.” She said.

“Well, if you need anything, I'll be right here!”

“Good. Now, get over here and help me.” She said, motioning me over.

I trotted over. Princess Cadanze showed me brushes, eyeliner, and everything else.

“You can start by sorting these in the bathroom.” She said with an... unnerving demanding tone.

“Yes Princess Cadanze!”

“It's Princess Mi Amore Cadanze!!” She snapped. She glared at her bridesmaids.

“And you three! Get out!” She roared.

I flinched slightly at her tone.

Wow... bitch much?

Celestia said she is very stressed... poor mare...

Still a bitch.

I began to sort the items she showed me.

“Be quick, I want this room to look good! Just ask one of the guards if they've seen me and follow their instructions!” Princess Cadanze snapped.

She slammed the door behind her.

I sighed. “Okay... maybe this wasn't as awesome as I thought...” I said as I assorted the items.
