The Shadows of War

Characters:

Steel Wing: A former Corporal (E-4) in the Equestrian Royal Army, he came back from the war traumatized with PTST and diagnosed depression. With his ability to fly stripped from him due to nerve damage in his wings, he is in denial about his depression and now has trouble with social interactions. Lives with Rainbow Dash in Ponyville.

Rainbow Dash: Former weather manager at Cloudsdale Weather Factory, former active Wonderbolt, current Reserve Wonderbolt, current Ponyville Weather Manager. Legally in charge of taking care of Steel Wing as part of his therapy. They live together in Ponyville.

Pinkamina Dianne Pie: A resident of Ponyville and a baker at Sugarcube Corner, she has a past relationship with Silver Star until an unknown incident. A party pony by night, she is a genuinely caring person, but can be hurt more easily than she lets on.

Major Maple Leaf: Steel Wings former Company Commander, she was discharged after the war and returned to Manehatten following her dream of living a simple life in the big city.

Orange Blaze: [spoler] Status: UNKNOWN [/spoiler]

Doctor Time Turner: A Doctor of Medicine who was kicked out of Canterlot for lacking bedside manner, he works with Doctor Stable in Ponyville Clinic. Enjoys a challenge, and loves to be called “The Doctor”, although no one knows why. Owns an antique Police Call Booth. He is Steel Wing's personal psychologist, and is overseeing his treatment.

Mister Cake: Brother served in the Great War, killed in action. Looks upon the military with respect, choosing to honor his brothers sacrifice.

Silver Star: Police Captain in Ponyville, his younger brother was killed in the bombings in Brayton. Loathing the military with every fiver of his being, he despises Steel Wing in particular for evading the law and getting a pity punishment from the courts after humilliating him and Brass Button in the first chapter.
