Even though the Great War only lasted five months in the Gryphany Campaigns, with the full might of Equestria brought to bear against the fascist dictator Bristlebeak, hundreds of thousands still died. The formerly peace loving country of Equestria was forced to arm for war.

After a war though, what are soldiers, still haunted by the memories of what they saw and did, supposed to do when reunited with their families? What are they to do in a society that values peace?
