Equestrian Warriors

After breakfast, Twilight and Gumdramon were walking along the streets of the Crystal Empire. A couple ponies started whispering about something to each other when they saw them. Twilight didn't know why, but she started blushing at the thought of what they might be talking about. She tried her best not to stare at Gumdramon, but to no avail. Every time he turned to look at her she would just turn away from his gaze.

"Hey Twilight?" Gumdramon asked.

She turned her head around to look at him. "Y-yes?"

"Do you think we could go into that stadium from yesterday? There's... there's something I need to tell you." He said, rubbing his arm.

Twilight looked at him with rosy cheeks. "S-sure."

They turned the next corner and headed towards the stadium. Twilight was calm on the outside, but her mind was in a panic. "What does he want to talk about? Is he gonna say he likes me? Oh, I just wish I knew what he was going to say." She thought to herself, starting to sweat a little.

They entered the stadium and sat down on the benches on the track. Taking deep breaths, Gumdramon turned to Twilight and started to talk. "Listen Twilight, I-I've been meaning to tell you this for a while. I-i just didn't know how to say it."

Twilight scooted a little closer to him, her flank almost touching his hip. Her gaze on him was intensifying by the second, her pupils as large as they could be. Gumdramon didn't take notice to her actions and continued. "You see the thing is... I'm..." Suddenly, Gumdramon's spikes on his head started to twitch. "Get Down!" He grabbed hold of Twilight and tackled her to the ground.

A black figure jump out of the ground, over their bodies, and into the ground again. Once they got back up, Gumdramon grabbed Twilight's hoof and ran towards the exit. Before they reached it, the black figure jumped out of the ground and slashed Gumdramon's back with it's large claws.

"Ah!" He screamed in pain.

"Gumdramon!" Twilight yelled.

She looked at his back and saw a bunch of clear, yellow pixels coming out of the scratches. Once again, the black creature popped out of the ground and was about to pounce on them. Twilight quickly closed her eyes and covered her face with hooves. The only problem was, the impact never came. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that Gumdramon was no longer on the ground. She looked behind her to see him with the creatures claws in his hands. He then spun around and let go of it's claws, sending it flying.

"Alright, let's get this over with." Gumdramon said, the D-Drive appearing into the palm of his hand. "Let's go! Armor Fusion!"

Gumdramon was engulfed in a sphere of clear, yellow pixels. "Gumdramon." The female voice coming from the D-Drive said. "Digmon. Armor Fusion activated."

Digmon's torso, arms, legs, and head were glowing in different colors. Each part of him were separated from each other as they moved towards Gumdramon and engulfed each of his body parts. Each body part was starting to transform into the perfect sized version of itself.

The glow around the arms shattered like glass, revealing two fully armored arms, the hands replaced with drills. The drills on the hands had four, glowing yellow cracks from the bottom to the top. They then separated into four, sharp drill fingers, making a normal hand.

The legs' glow broke like glass and revealed armored legs that began at the feet and stopped at the knees. His feet were drills that split in half, one in the front and another in the back. The front half of the drills split into three toe like drills.

His torso's glow broke like glass to reveal a bug winged torso with the D-Drive melded on the center of it.

Finally his head's glow broke like glass to reveal Gumdramon's normal head, but with two half spheres on both sides of his head. The only thing connecting them was a single piece of see through, purple glass, shaped like futuristic sunglasses.

Gumdramon landed on the ground and got into fighting position. "Gumdramon - Dig Armor."

Everything was silent, until...

The Shadow roared as it jump out of the ground from behind Gumdramon.

Gumdramon quickly turned around and pointed his claws at him. "Drill Seekers!" Gumdramon shouted.

His claws started spinning and blasted towards the Shadow. When they made contact with it, they all exploded, causing the Shadow to fall to the ground. It was revealed that it had a snake like body with two big mole arms. Gumdramon's claws quickly grew back, acting like he reloaded a gun. It tried digging it's way into the ground, but Gumdramon grabbed it's tail when it was halfway down.

"Oh... no... you... don't!" Gumdramon said, struggling to pull the Shadow out of the hole. Before he knew it, the Shadow slipped through his hands and escaped into the ground once again. "No!"

"Gumdramon!" Twilight screamed.

Gumdramon quickly turned around to see Twilight with the Shadow on top of her. She was holding it back by pushing her hooves onto it.

"Twilight!" He shouted.

Before Gumdramon got to Twilight, the Shadow scratched her right cheek. Twilight had started crying from the pain. When the Shadow went to go for another scratch, it's claw was caught by something. It was Gumdramon, the only problem is that his entire armor was black and red. He lifted his head up to reveal a wicked smile and two red eyes. Gumdramon's hand grabbed the Shadow by the neck, while the other hand was covered in clear red pixels. Once his pixelated hand shoved itself into the Shadow's chest, it turned into Beelzemon's chain gun.

Gumdramon's smile grew even wider. "Belt Unloader." He whispered.

Suddenly, an entire belt of red energy bullets were sent blasting through the Shadow's body. Once the belt stopped, the Shadow transformed into another red and black sphere. Gumdramon stabbed it with one of his drill claws and devoured it.

Once he swallowed it, he was engulfed in a black sphere of clouds. When the clouds disappeared, he was back to his normal form. When he opened his eyes, he noticed Twilight was passed out on the ground. He quickly ran towards Twilight and lifted her off the ground, into his arms.

"Don't worry Twilight, I'll always keep you safe." He said, shedding a tear.

He ran out of the stadium and towards the castle.

"Cadence! Shining!"

They both turned around to see Gumdramon running towards them with Twilight in his arms. She was covered in bruises, cuts, and dirt.

"What happened?!" Shining Armor asked, almost in a panic.

"We were attacked by a Shadow in the stadium and Twilight got hurt in the process." Gumdramon said, tears starting to form in his eyes. "She's okay, just really hurt."

"Here, bring here inside." Shining said, leading him towards the stairs.

Gumdramon nodded and walked behind him. "It's okay Twilight, your going to be fine. I'll stay by your side until your better." After saying that, the corners of her mouth started to form a small smile.

"T-thank you." She said, fainting once again.
