Equestrian Warriors
Shadows Start to Rise - Part 3
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight was lying down on her bed at the Crystal Castle. She couldn't really hear much, but she swore that someone was talking to someone else in her room. She slowly opened her eyes to see a blurry image of a purple blur next to a white smug. Once her eyesight returned to normal she say that it was Gumdramon and Shining Armor. Twilight suddenly noticed that it looked like the two of them were arguing with each other. Her hearing returned to normal and she was able to hear what they were saying.
"...And you let her get hurt!" Shining said, looking at him with pure anger.
"I told you before I tried to save her, but the monster was too fast. I was able to stop the monster before she got worst." Gumdramon said, a few tears in his eyes.
"Well you did a lousy job of protecting her!" He yelled at him a little louder.
Gumdramon's expression turned from annoyed to angry. "Well then, if saving her life wasn't good enough for you then how about you try it. But don't come crawling back to me when you need my help. And when I do comeback to save you it will be for her." Gumdramon said, pointing at Twilight.
He slowly walked to the balcony and climbed onto the railing. Twilight's was starting to become distressed by this, but she thought he wouldn't do something that stupid. He then jumped off of the railing, causing everyone in the room to run towards the balcony. Twilight was the first one to get there despite her injuries. She looked down only to see Gumdramon gliding towards the train station. She wiped the sweat from her forehead with her bandaged foreleg.
Her face suddenly changes from one that expresses relief to one that expresses anger. She quickly turns around to show Shining Armor and Princess Cadence that she is not happy.
"What in Equestria did you say to him?" She asked slightly louder than she had intended it to be.
Shining was shocked by her question. "Us?! He was the one who couldn't protect you from that... that... thing!" He shouted much louder than Twilight. Twilight just looked at him, her face showing more anger now than before.
"What are you talking about? He protected me just fine and if he wasn't there in the first place then I wouldn't be here right now." She said, her tone of voice slowly calming down as she was reaching the end of her sentence. Before Shining Armor could say anything she stormed out of the room.
He was about to follow her, but Cadence placed a hoof on his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks. He turned his head to look at his beautiful wife. She looked at him with caring eyes.
"Just.. give her some space okay? I think she needs some time to cool off." She said giving him a warm smile.
Shining sighed. "Fine. But you know I'm only doing this to keep her safe right?"
She nodded. "I know you are, but I think Twilight also needs some time to realize that as well. After all, she has been doing pretty well at protecting herself, not to mention all of Equestria."
He sighed once again. "I know. I just wish she thought of me as her brave older brother again." He said, looking a bit depressed.
Cadence embraced Shining Armor in a hug and giggled. "You still are and will always be her brave older brother. She just sometimes forget, that's all. But things that are forgotten can always be remembered when they're needed."
Shining slowly pulled away from Cadence and raised an eyebrow at her. "Have you been reading those psychology books again?" he asked with a smirk.
Cadence did her best to avoid eye contact. "Maybe." She teased.
They both started giggling as they exited the room and headed towards the kitchen.
Twilight was walking through the Crystal Empire, her hooves still in some pain. She was too angry to notice though. She was in front of the train station and used her little breathing exercise to help herself calm down. She went up to one of the ticket windows where a gray coated stallion with a blond mullet.
"Um excuse me? I'm looking for my friend. He's a purple monster that walks on two legs. Have you seen him?" She asked
To Twilight's disliking, the stallion slowly shook his head from left to right. "Sorry your highness, your friend wasn't here." Twilight was about to walk away before the stallion quickly interjected. "But I think I say him walk over to the market."
Twilight's frown quickly turned back into a smile as she turned to the stallion. "Thank you so much." She said as she rushed towards the market area.
As she was leaving, a completely black fly with dragon wings was looking directly at her. It turned to the camera to reveal it had no eyes, but The Shadow Symbol.
In a small orb on a pedestal was what the Shadow Fly was seeing. The silhouette of Dark Shoutmon walked around it with curiosity in his eyes. "Well, well, well. Looks like Gumdramon's got a little girlfriend. If he wasn't such an idiot, they would be together already."
"Do you always talk to yourself like this?" Lord Plasmamon said, his red eyes glowing in the shadows of the ceiling.
Dark Shoutmon quickly looked up at his master and started sweating. "S-sorry about that sir."
Lord Plasmamon simply sighed at his minion. "It doesn't matter, but you did bring up a good point."
"Really?" He asked, a proud smile growing on his face.
"Yes. Love makes strong warriors weak, especially when they will do anything to protect them. Perhaps I can use this, but for now." He turned his attention to Dark Shoutmon.
"Right sir, I'll get right on that new Shadow." He said, walking towards a door. Before he could reach it, a black glob of slime shaped like a leg block the door.
"Not this time. I want to try something risky. Send the Shadow Centipeetle Hive."
A worried look grew on Dark Shoutmon's face. "But sir, are you sure you want a full invasion right now? It could compromise with the plan."
"I know what I'm doing. I just want to see how loyal he really is to these ponies."
Dark Shoutmon sighed. "Ok sir, I get everything ready." He finally left the room. As he walked down the hall another shadowy figure was leaning against the wall, arms crossed.
He slowly looked up to reveal two red eyes. "Have you been thinking about my plan?" He asked in a deep, but smooth teenage voice.
He sighed. "I told you already, until Lord N.R.G. is free we won't have the proper technology to make them."
"Well then, I guess I'll just have to find something else to do in the meantime." He said, looking away.
"Don't you have like a dozen universes to take over?" He asked, getting annoyed by him.
"Technically it was a baker's dozen and I finished that task two months ago."
"You haven't been looking for Gumdramon in your free time have you?"
"Pfft, no. Besides, he wouldn't be worth my precious time."
Dark Shoutmon raised an eyebrow at him. "Ok. Well I got a project to work on. See ya." He said as he walked through the door.
The shadowy figure opened one of his closed hands to reveal a flash drive that said 'Equestria - Gumdramon's current location.' on it. "And I've got a project of my own."
