Chapters One day on Mobius, a familiar blue hedgehog was running through a forest towards a large, robot-guarded arsenal. "The ol' eggster's really overkilled it this time," Sonic said to himself as he spin dashed through an egg pawn. "Still using that terrible model of a robot," a voice said above his head. "Hey Tails. Come to join the party?" Sonic said to his two-tailed friend.
"Sonic, Eggman has 4 Chaos Emeralds under his belt. Now is not the time to be cracking jokes!" Tails said, annoyed at his friends blitheness.
"OK, OK, I can take a hint!" the blue hedgehog said in response. He then proceeded to spin dash into several Egg Pawns in a row. "I feel like these things are getting worse and worse over the years, don't you?" Sonic said to Tails after the spin dash.
"Soniiiic..." Tails trailed off as they busted into the arsenal, destroying more robots int he process.
"That stupid hedgehog is destroying my art!" said an egg shaped man in a red suit.
"Technically, you didn't make it, sir," a red, orb-shaped robot said, "a 'bot maker did." This robot is known as Orbot, a sassy lackey robot, made by Dr. Eggman.
"Yeah! It's not your art if you didn't make it, right?" said a yellow, cube-shaped robot standing next to Orbot. This robot is known as Cubot, a more loyal robot than Orbot, but dumber and has a voice chip that is constantly on the flux.
"Shut all the gates! He's nearing us!" Eggman yelled at his robots. Orbot proceeded to press a button on a panel, and metal doors in the hallway connecting to the room shut in a staircase manner from furthest from the room to the closest.
"Another lame attempt to stop me from reaching him?" Sonic said.
"I don't know... this seems a little... low-key of an attempt, even for Eggman," Tails said. Sonic then charged up a spin dash, and easily busted through the doors.
"NOW!" Eggman exclaimed, and Cubot pressed a button this time, and the four chaos emeralds in the console lit up, and a laser hit Sonic and Tails. A few seconds later, the laser faded, and Sonic and Tails no longer stood where a burnt spot on the floor was now. "Now, after I get rid of all his other friends, I will rule this world and nothing will stand in my way! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Eggman exclaimed.
"Excuse me, but, where did they go?" Orbot said.
"Who cares? They're putty that I finally washed off my hands, and you know how hard it is to wash putty off people's hands, and these two were particularly difficult putty to get off," Eggman said. (Putty jokes!)
Meanwhile, in another dimension
"Oof... anyone get the number on that bus?" Sonic said, still half unconscious. "Tails? buddy? where are you?" the blue hedgehog said.
"I'm not sure, but if you want a relative measure, about five feet to your right," Tails replied.
"What're you talking abou... ohhh..." Sonic said as he opened his eyes, "this doesn't look like anywhere I've seen, and I've been just about everywhere in the world."
"And I've been with you when you traveled the whole world, and I don't recognize it either," the two tailed fox replied.
"Something really strange is happening here," Sonic said.
"Whoa! Do I see what I think I see?" Sonic said.
"What do you mean?" Tails said.
"You mean you don't see a mint colored... unicorn? I think that laser did more than just teleport us, if you know what I mean,"
"No, no. I see it too!" Tails said
Lyra Heartstrings was going on a walk when she saw something peculiar.
"Is that a... blue hedgehog talking to a yellow, two tailed fox?" Lyra said to herself, "I must be losing my marbles." But as she got closer, she realized it was not a hallucination, but there was actually a blue hedgehog and yellow fox standing atop the hill. then the blue hedgehog and the yellow fox started walking towards her. "What do I do, what do I do, what do I do? I know! Fluttershy's good with animals! I'll run to her house and hopefully the hedgehog and fox will follow," she said as she ran for Fluttershy's house
"What is she doing?" Sonic said.
"If one of those ponies showed up in our world, and one of our regular residents saw it, wouldn't they run, too?" Tails said.
"Yeah. I guess you're right. as always," sonic said. " should we chase her down to tell her we don't want to hurt her?" he said as he took off at great speed.
"You didn't even let me answer! *sigh*..." Tails said as he flew after Sonic.
End of prologue.
Lyra was running for Fluttershy's house, and she looked behind her to see the two animals following her. "It worked! they're following me! wait... they're gaining on me! Fast!" she said as she tried to run faster. Reaching Fluttershy's house before the animals could reach her, She knocked on the door.
"Hello, Lyra. Why are you here?" Fluttershy said as she opened the door.
"A blue hedgehog and a yellow fox were standing at the top of the hill and I didn't know what to do and your good with animals so I thought you could help," Lyra said quickly.
"Where are they now?" Fluttershy said.
"They should be right behind me," Lyra said as she turned around.
"We're not going to hurt you," sonic said as he ran after the mint unicorn.
"You can talk?" said a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane. "you can talk?" Sonic said in astonishment.
"In that case, what's your name?" Tails said behind him.
"Fluttershy. what's yours?" the pony apparently named Fluttershy said.
"Sonic. Sonic the hedgehog," said the blue hedgehog.
"I'm Tails," the yellow fox said as he landed.
"Well, it's nice to know you two aren't hurting anyone," Fluttershy said. "I haven't seen any animal like you before. how did you get here?" she said
"Well..."
One very long and very boring description of the prologue...
"And that's it until we saw that unicorn," Tails said, finishing the very long and boring description.
"Wow. But without those Chaos emeralds, how are you going to get home?" Fluttershy wondered.
"That's what we're trying to figure out. do you have any gems with unlimited power that can teleport people with two simple words?" Sonic said.
"No, but I know someone who might," Fluttershy responded, "follow me." and with that, they walked off to her house
Twilight Sparkle was at her table, reading, when Fluttershy walked in the door. "Oh, I'm sorry are you busy? I'll come back later, then..." she said after she walked in the door.
"No, it's fine. what is it?" Twilight said, looking up from her book.
"well... "
yet another long and boring description of prologue later...
"Where are they now?" Twilight said after Fluttershy described Prologue.
"Right here," Fluttershy said, and then Sonic and Tails walked through the door.
"That's them? I've definitely seen stranger animals, though," Twilight said after getting an eyeful of the two Mobians.
"Stranger animals?" Tails said curiously.
"Yeah, like a draconequus named Discord," Twilight said.
"A dragon's necked us?" Sonic said.
"No, a draconequus. it has the head of a pony, and a body of many other things," Fluttershy added to the conversation.
"I wanna show you some more of my friends," Twilight said, and with that, they walked off to carousel boutique.
Rarity was creating clothing when she heard a knock on the door. "It's open!" she said. In walked Twilight and Fluttershy. "Oh, hello dears. what are you doing here?" she said as they walked in.
"Rarity, there's some... animals... we'd like you to meet," Twilight said.
"ANIMALS! Take them elsewhere!" Rarity said.
"But these animals are different," Fluttershy said.
"Fine. show me and be on your way," Rarity said.
"Come on in, Sonic and tails!" Twilight said. "They have names?" Rarity said. "What kind of animals are they?" she said after they walked in.
"Here's the story..."
HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO DESCRIBE THE PROLOGUE!
"What? So, they can talk, the yellow one can fly, and the blue one can run at high speed?" Rarity said
"Actually, that reminds me, how fast exactly are you, Sonic?" twilight asked.
"Well... Tails?" Sonic replied
"He can run at approximately light speed," the yellow fox said.
"Dang. And rainbow dash barely broke the sound barrier," Twilight said
"I kind of have the title of 'fastest thing alive,'" Sonic said
"Speaking of which, we have a few more friends we'd like to show you," Twilight stated. And off they went to sweet apple acres.
When they got there, rainbow dash and applejack were hoof wrestling and Pinkie was attempting to cheer for them both. "Looks like they're all here," Rarity said.
"This is it?" Sonic said.
"Yeah. and try not to mention anything about you being faster than her, OK?" Twilight asked, although she said it as more of a statement.
"OK," Sonic said walking up to them, "Hey."
"Huh?" Rainbow dash said taking her attention way from the hoof wrestling match. applejack seized her chance and overpowered rainbow dash.
"I win again! that's five to zero in mah favor!"
"You only won because I turned to look at whatever that thing is."
"First of all, I can hear you, and second, I'm a hedgehog!" Sonic said
"Why is he here?" RD said to the other ponies.
"I think you should ask Sonic," Twilight responded
"Is he the blue one?"
" I told you, I'm a hedgehog!"
"Just tell her the story."
"OK. it all started when..."
*sigh* do I even need to say it?
"I bet you're still not as fast as me, though," Rainbow dash boasted
"I was afraid of that," Twilight said.
"Race you to the edge of Everfree forest! Readysetgo!" and rainbow dash took off at near top speed
"Hm," Sonic smirked and then took off as well.
"Ay-ay-ay.." Twilight said.
The Hedgehog from the Future
"That hedgehog will never catch up to me," Rainbow Dash declared to herself.
"Don't be so sure," said Sonic, catching up to her.
"What?! No way you can run that fast!" Rainbow Dash said in astonishment.
"What can I say? I'm a hedgehog full of surprises."
"You still can't keep up with my Sonic Rainboom." and Rainbow dash initiated the Sonic Rainboom.
"Hm" Sonic smirked and Boosted forwards, doubling his speed. He caught up to and passed Rainbow Dash at almost the speed of light.
"Wha--?" Rainbow Dash was shocked.
However, no sooner had that been said, large boom sounded just on the other side of Ponyville, and the two racers stopped dead in their tracks. But before I tell you that, let's back up a bit.
"I'm going for the record," said a cyan hedgehog with red stripes at the base and tip of each spike. He looked just like Sonic in form, but not in color. His shoes were white and gray, with a lightning-shaped line down the middle separating the two colors, with white in the front and, well, gray in the back. He charged his figure 8 and took off at light speed, ripping the ground that he stepped on. Then space morphed around him. He became engulfed in light and disappeared.
A powerful wind came from the loud noise and almost knocked Sonic and Rainbow Dash off their feet. then clouds of dust appeared and when they faded, a cyan hedgehog with... okay, you already know how he looks.
"Did I just... travel through time and space?" the bright hedgehog wondered out loud. He appeared to be from the same world as Sonic. He looked slightly younger than Sonic, seeming about 13.
"Friend or foe?" Rainbow Dash would ask.
"I don't even know you people!" the hedgehog of an indeterminate name said. "Wait, are you Sonic the hedgehog?" He gestured at Sonic.
"Yes. How do you know that?"
"You're the most famous figure in Mobius history! But I thought you had been dead for several decades."
A look of confusion swept over Sonic's face. "What? But that would mean..."
"I'm from the future of our world." the cyan hedgehog finished.
They sat in silence for few seconds, thinking about what had happened. Rainbow Dash shook out of her thinking mode. "Well, what's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Ike. Pleased to meet you!" the hedgehog who was apparently named Ike held out his hand for Sonic to shake it.
Sonic hesitated, then shook Ike's hand. "Pleased to meet you, too. How did you get here again?"
"I ran at the speed of light and I just ended up here." Ike replied.
"Then we should be able to go back that way, right?"
"I don't know. I would've still been traveling through time and space if I could. Maybe a rift happened due to my extremely limited magical ability. I mean so limited the most powerful attack I can do with it is shoot a medium powered lightning bolt at close range. My spin dash is much more effective in combat."
"So we need Shadow to be here and at least one emerald in our possession." Sonic said, disappointed.
"But how're we supposed to get an emerald?" Ike asked
"I don't know." Sonic replied.
"In the meantime, we need a place to stay." Ike stated.
"I have a spare two-person bed at my house," Twilight suggested. "And I guess I could figure something out for Tails. Does that suit your fancy?"
"Yep!" Ike and Tails said.
"Suit your fancy?" Sonic asked.
"It's a southern way to say 'is that good enough for you?'" Twilight answered.
"Well then, yes." Sonic answered.
"You sure you don't mind having to feed three extra mouths?" Ike asked.
"I'm sure Spike won't mind at all!" Twilight assured, smiling.
"Spike?" the three Mobians said at the same time.
"He's a little purple dragon who does my housework and such," Twilight explained. "Which reminds me, he should be back from those errands I sent him on." And Twilight and the three Mobians went to her house.
Awkward, messy storytelling.
On the other side of the world, Discord was, for reasons the writer can't even explain, fighting Amora the enchantress from Asgard (did I mention Marvel was going to come into play? No? Too bad). She cast a spell on him, which of course did not work, but Discord wanted to fool her into thinking he was under her spell, and then surprise attack her in the final battle (this is what you call blatant foreshadowing).
"Go hunt down anyone who might stand in the way of my plans!" the Enchantress ordered. Discord obeyed. While he could teleport, he'd decided to fly there at a moderately slow pace. He wanted to wait until the final battle to show her his full power in the final fight.
" Twilight, I got those groceries you asked for!" Spike yelled as he entered the library. No response came from the inside of the tree... building thing. "Twilight?" Spike went up the stairs to look for the lavender pony. Somehow, two rooms had appeared in the hallway upstairs. He went into the first one and he saw Ike jamming on his bed to the song "Welcome to Paradise" by Green Day (I also forgot to mention that Ike is a dimensional traveler, but only between two with the use of a machine).
"Ah!" Spike slammed the door, as he thought that Ike was some sort of extraterrestrial that was going to destroy him. Twilight came out of the second door.
"What's wrong, Spike?" Twilight said worriedly.
"There's an alien monster thing in that room that randomly appeared wile I was gone!" Spike said.
"Monster? Oh, you mean Ike." Twilight was attempting to calm Spike, but Spike wasn't really listening, and it wasn't a very good calming strategy. "He's staying here until a 'Chaos Emerald' from his world can take him back."
Sonic walked out of the second door. "Thanks for the room, Twilight. The bed is especially comfy." He said.
"AH! ANOTHER ONE!" Spike jumped behind Twilight to shield himself from the potential attacker.
"Spike, I presume?" Ike had walked up behind Spike completely silently, so when he spoke, Spike jumped literally five feet into the air (literally). Spike tried to run away, but Twilight picked him up and held him in the air with magic, and Spike's legs were still moving as if he were running.
"CALM DOWN, SPIKE!!!" Twilight was becoming annoyed and enraged. Spike suddenly stopped freaking out. "These are Mobians, anthropomorphic animals who came from another dimension by various means. They don't want to hurt you."
"Okay, but, could you explain--"
"WE'RE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN!!!" Twilight snapped. "Whoa, I don't know what just came over me."
"It's like an enraged fanfic writer just possessed you because you gave exposition too often."
"I know, it's weird."
"So, what are we gonna do today?" Ike asked.
"Well, we were going to introduce you to the other townspeople, but upon further pondering, it might not be the best idea, considering how much of them might freak out." Twilight said.
"We're gonna hafta do it at some point anyways, so let's go ahead and get it over with," Sonic said as he pointed to the door.
"Good point," Twilight said. And they walked out the door ('they' being Twilight, Sonic, Ike, and Spike).
