I Can See The Rainbow In Its Reflection

Load Full StoryNext Chapter

A rainbow never seems to stay up for long in this world.

Rainbow Dash walks, her eyes set forth on the roaring ocean whose tides continue to rock the beaches of which she and her friends stay for their great vacation. Together, the six came to enjoy a moments break, a retreat from the stresses that bind and ensnare them. However, Rainbow Dash is an exception. An exceptional exception.

Rainbow Dash continues to walk along her water, the water of which she drinks. Its tides snap and roll into the coast, their water seems inviting to those who can bear witness to its true form. Of course, Rainbow Dash not only swims in this water—no, she drowns in it. Rainbow Dash loves it, for it cleanses her, hugs her wings tight while she wishes to only feel flight.

Yet, she also hates it, for it carries her into thinking that all water is okay for her to drown in.

Rainbow Dash stops, her eyes gazing at the waters of which she hates. It calls to her, begging for her to stand with it and drink its tasty, delectable taste that only those who acquire its addictive flavor will grasp it and chug it gracefully, the effort it must take seems... lacking.

Rainbow Dash tries to stop herself, the thought of just grabbing that water seems more enticing than the waters of which the ocean bears. She finds it to be... plain and not so desirable now that the waters of her own rainbows are set in the vicinity of which she stays.

She spots some ponies standing by the area of water, their smiles gaining tenfold as they share in the water, swimming in its cleansing sheen. Rainbow Dash's lips begin to water themselves, a wet tingling sensation graces itself upon her lips as she begins to see the details of their drinks form inside her mind.

Rainbow Dash realizes she is walking towards them, but cannot help herself; her body is not listening. Her body is not being hers. Her body is not the rainbow she wishes to stay alive and be brighter than all the rest.

The rainbow that exists within Rainbow Dash is one who wishes to be the only rainbow that stands before the rest.

She grabs the tankard, filling herself up a glass of some cold, liquid pride.

The rainbow that exists within Rainbow Dash is the one that only sees the next day as a new day to get its new fill.

She gently begins to raise the water to her lips.

The rainbow that exists within Rainbow Dash is the one who sees itself every morning and ignores the colorful hues that graces its being.

She begins to take the water's first starting sip.

The rainbow...

...exists.
