Pearl and Onyx
The First Light
Previous ChapterSombra sighed before turning to Shining and Cadence. He growled at them, Shining immediately stepping in front of Cadence.
"Now, I finally finish you!"
Sombra began to charge his magic, except it wouldn't charge. He tried again and again, but ended nowhere. He growled at the crystal couple again.
"What have done to me?"
"We didn't do anything, the princesses did."
Sombra let our roar, shaking the castle.
"Those brujas! They casted a spell upon me!"
Sombra mumbled, feeling weak and helpless without his magic.
"Why did they do this? Answer me!"
"They did it to keep you from hurting anyone. We're supposed to reform you."
Sombra looked at them once more, holding back a laugh.
"You reform me? Idiota, soy de gran alcance!"
"Hey! I may not know Spanish, but I know what that first word meant!"
"Want me to lie?"
Shining snorted and tried to attack Sombra, but was held back by Cadence.
"Come on, Shine. We said we would do it for them."
Sombra was laying down on the floor, hooves crossed and looking quite smug.
"Fine, what do we even do first?"
"Let's ask him. Try to be nice, ok."
Shining huffed before turned to a Sombra, who had his eyes closed.
"Is he sleep?"
Sombra responded by snoring softly. Shining nodded, picking up the former crystal king up in his magic grasp.
"Where are we even going to put him?"
Shining thought for a moment.
"The room under the rug?"
"We're trying to befriend and reform him, not make him more evil and crabby."
"Fine, I'll take him to the guest bedroom."
Shining began trotting through the castle, a floating Sombra behind him. He opened a door, revealing a blue bedroom. He carefully set Sombra under the sheets and quickly left back to Cadence.
"Now what?"
"Your shift over?"
"Mh-hm."
"Follow me."
Shining woofed slightly and began following his wife.
Sombra sat up in the bed, the moonlight peeking at his groggy eyes telling him it was late.
"Where am-oh, yes."
Sombra got up and stretched. He quietly opened and closed the door, beginning to trot through his old castle. He walked over to the balcony, looking out on the old castle.
"Not a single salve in sight. Just the way I prefer it."
Sombra back against the wall, attempting to join the shadows but failing. He groaned and looked at the long staircase.
"Idiota."
Sombra sighed and just done right jumped off the balcony. He landed without a sound, his coat blending with the shadows.
"I'm free and completely evil. What to-"
Sombra stopped when he saw a white glint up ahead. He brought a hoof over his eyes to block out some of the light.
"Qué?"
Sombra began walking toward the white, gasping he saw a white crystal mare. She had a bright white mane and tail, her eyes a light red color. She held a clipboard, writing down something after tapping the ground.
The mare stood in the light, while Sombra stood in the dark. He took one step forward, hoping not to be heard, but she did hear.
She dropped the clipboard and looked around.
"Hello? Anyone there?"
Sombra smiled evilly, jumping out when her back was turned. The mare screamed, but Sombra's hoof silenced it. Sombra pinned her under his weight, chuckling.
"How cute. The first to be one a salve once more."
The mare growled against his hoof, using her back hooves to knock Sombra's hooves out from under him. The moment he fell, she managed all her hooves under and pushed up. Sombra landed with a thud as the mare stood up, panting and growling.
"The hell you think you are?"
Sombra stood up, shaking his head at what happened. He looked at her, getting a gasp when she recognized him. Sombra waited for her to kneel, but she merely took her stance again. She slid her hoof across the ground and blew air form her nose.
"You don't scare me."
Sombra chuckled, low and deep, before standing back up. He popped his neck, looking the mare over.
"Quite strong for a crystal señorita."
"Damn straight, jackass!"
Sombra began circling the mare, drinking in her body. He ran his hoof over her clipboard cutie-mark, earning him a shake off.
"Hooves off, bud, if you happen to like having all your teeth."
"Such a feisty attitude from such a pure looking señorita."
"Stop calling 'señorita'. My name's Crystal Clip."
Sombra purred, slithering up to Crystal. He placed his hoof next to hers.
"Crystal. The name of my mamá."
Crystal pulled her hoof away, snarling at Sombra. He took a simple step back, still smirking. Crystal scoffed, picking up her clipboard.
"Get lost, Sombra. You'll die out here."
Sombra walked around her once more, getting an annoyed huff from her.
"I ensure you, señorita Crystal, I am perfectly fine."
"Yeah, whatever."
Crystal began trotting away, but not before kicking Sombra's hooves out from under him again. He shook his head and looked up at her, smiling. Crystal smirked herself before turning to him completely.
"Meet at the Crystal Caverns, tomorrow night."
"Sí, señorita."
Crystal flicked his horn before walking away completely. Sombra let out a quiet, "Ow," before getting up and stretching. He purred in the back of his throat.
"Esa yegua gobernará ami lado en mi nuevo reino, esto lo juro."
