Lightning Orchid was getting better at flying. With Rainbow Dash as a mentor, she will sure to have improved.

"Wow Lightning, you are definitely improving at flying." Rainbow said.

"Thanks, with you as a mentor, I can't be happier." Lightning burst out.

Rainbow heard laughing and traced the noise to see 2 colts laughing amongst themselves. A dark red colt with white hair and a cutie mark of a wheel and a wing attached to it and a light blue colt with a navy mane who she recognized as Soarin. Lightning followed Rainbow's eyes toward the older colt and could obviously see that she liked him. Lightning tapped on rainbows head that snapped her out of her trance.

"Huh what?!" Rainbow yelled.

Lightning just chuckled "Can we continue now?"

"Sure kid" Rainbow said.

Rainbow dash taught Lightning how to glide properly, how to fly in a straight line, and how to do a few flips. It was time for lunch so the two pegasi headed inside the building. rainbow got a bowl of grape jelly and so did Lightning. The two finished their food very quickly, but silence still wasn't broken. That wasn't until Rainbow was staring at Soarin again.

Lightning caught onto this and spoke up.

"Staring at Soarin, huh?"

"W-What n-no I'm not!" rainbow stammered in reply.

"Please Rainbow, I know that look, why don't you just ask him out?" Orchid said in reply.

"What if he doesn't like me like that?" rainbow asked.

"Think of it this way Rainbow, your a bird, and Soarin is a seed that you want, if you don't fly in and take that seed, another bird is gonna get it eventually, then you'll be a hungry bird without a seed, does that help?" Lightning said.

"Yes but I already ate."

Lightning Orchid rolled her eyes. "If you don't take Soarin for yourself, you'll never have him, it's just how things work."

Rainbow Dash chuckled at her mistake "Oh, right."

The two pegasi burst out laughing. When they were supposed to go back to flying they were still laughing. Rainbow didn't look where she was going and bumped into something. That very something saw her bump into him and grabbed her before she could hit the ground.

"Rainbow Dash?" Soarin asked.

Rainbow Dash was so busy laughing she didn't realize that Soarin was holding her.

"Huh? What Happened?" Rainbow asked.

"You were so busy laughing you didn't realize you bumped into me." Soarin explained.

"Oh, well, um.." Rainbow began.

This is it Rainbow! Lightning though. Ask him out! Ask him out!

"Gotta go practice, right Lightning?"

Lightning just nodded in defeat and the 2 pegasi were off into the sky.

Why Rainbow, just, why? Lightning said to herself while she started taking off.

"Rainbow Dash! What was that! You had the perfect opportunity to ask Soarin out!" Lightning yelled once they were high enough so only her and Rainbow could hear.

"I know, Lightning, I know. I'm brave when I walk up to him, but once I look into those handsome green eyes, I feel like a filly over him." Rainbow realized what she said and then said "No offence about the filly thing."

"It's ok Rainbow, I know it's an expression." Lightning returned.

What Rainbow Dash and Lightning Orchid didn't know is that Soarin's colt had gone home early so he was listening to Rainbow and Lightning. He had heard that Rainbow Dash was brave when she walked up to him, but once she looked into his eyes, she felt like a filly over him.

Rainbow dash...likes...me? Soarin thought. A cute mare...likes...ME...of all people...ME! I would be the last person to expect a cute mare to fall for me, after all, Spitfire isn't that cute, I'm glad she dumped me. Soarin thought as he continued to listen to Rainbow and Lightning.

"Rainbow Dash, you have to tell him eventually! After all, your shades can't hide feelings." Lightning exclaimed.

"You're right Lightning, I will tell him, I just don't know when! He's the cutest stallion I've ever met, and, I'm actually surprised I'm saying this, but, I love him. I love Soarin." Rainbow said.

When Soarin heard this, his jaw was hanging open, and that thought rang in his head. I love him, I love Soarin..I love him, I love Soarin.. All he could think about is Rainbow dash, her cute mane, her awesome cutie mark, not that he had been staring at her flank, her beautiful moderate cerise eyes, and her awesome tom-boyish like ways. Before anyone knew it, rainbow dash sneezed.

"Huh, that was weird." Rainbow said.

"Why is that weird?" Lightning asked.

"When a pony or thing thinks of you, you sneeze." Rainbow said.

"Oh, that's weird." Lightning said

"I know right."

The two burst out laughing while Soarin's cheeks turned a crimson behind them without him knowing.

Just a little longer, then I'll confess my feelings for Rainbow Dash, just a little longer... Soarin thought.

Shades can't hide feelings was the name of one of my Fics, until i deleted it and made this, so, I incorporated the name into this chapter!
I wanted to write about Lightning giving Rainbow some advice because I wanted to give her an important role in this fic, so TADA! And yes, I have a theory in equestria that when something thinks of you, you sneeze, just came to me.
