Chapters Chapter 1: The rivers begin to run...
Thump.
Raindrop groaned as she lifted herself to her hoofs.
She shouldn't of had those extra couple of rounds of that cheap whiskey. Annoyed by the horrible aftertaste sitting on her tongue.
Raindrop got to her hooves with much effort but she finally got there.
That wonderbolts celebration party was definetly something, but not amazing. In the midst of the celebration everyone had managed to get drunk off either the spiked punch or the various alcohols dotted around sugarcube corner. Raindrop having a good couple of rounds of each.
Raindrop walked over to her window and took in the beautiful sight of the sun cresting the horizon. It truly was a lovely sight to wake up to in cloudsdale, one of the most magical sights to see the sun rise in the morning even if it had happened almost every day for the whole of her life.
Her belly rumbled, and she headed downstairs at the complaint of her stomach, The feel of her lovely cloud carpet trying to lull her back to sleep as she trod towards the stairs. Sadly she could not say yes to its question and simply walked down the stairs and prepared some coffee with a bowl of fruity oatmeal. As Raindrop chewed down her oatmeal she thought of her average day of moving ponies stuff around for the moving company. She wished she could have a new more interesting job but all the jobs she had applied for had rejected her. So she was stuck with working for the moving company. Atleast the pay was decent though and she didn't screw up as much as Ditzy had which was definetly something.
Raindrop took a glance at her clock. "Shit!" cursed Raindrop. She quickly stuffed her cheeks and guzzled her coffee before dashing out the door.
Raindrop managed to make it to work with only a hard glare from her boss, Crafty Crate. The day went past as normal, Raindrop and the other people working dropped a few things and moved things around for other ponies. Raindrop was releived and joyous when the end of the day came early. She decided she would go and spend her spare time before nightfall in the countryside.
I was a beatiful afternoon, the birds were singing there beautiful choruses and sky was a clear blue. It seemed that all of nature and Equestria was at peace, not a single thing could ruin this moment.
Raindrop decided to have a well deserved nap. She dreamed of flying through beautiful skies and watching the beautiful lands of Equestria flow past.
Raindrop was suddenly woken from a nap by a sharp pinching at her neck. As she rolled her eyes around to where she could feel the pain she felt a neglection of energy to her body and felt as if she was being drained even more by the second, but instead of spotting an everyday mosquito, what she spotted made her eyes go wide with fear. What was biting at her neck was a Pony. It took her a couple of seconds for her to process this. Were the old ponies tales real? It couldn't be... She must be dreaming. She must! But this dream felt all too real to be a dream. The pony had a dark crimson coat and a long black mane and tail with a few nighttime purple streaks in both. The most interesting part of her was her eyes, they looked like they belonged to somekind of reptile or maybe a dragon, With long vertical slits instead of the casual round iris. By the time Raindrop had managed to process all that was happening through her drowsy brain the crimson mare had noticed Raindrop's terrified stare and gave her a fanged grin before sprinting into Whitetail woods.
"H-Hey! Get back here!" yelled Raindrop before giving chase, it took Raindrop a while to get up as she again felt her lack of energy but soon she was bounding after the mysterious mare in shock and determination to catch the her.
The crimson mare seemed to have no trouble weaving through the many trunks that beared the leaves creating the canopy of Whitetail woods but Raindrop was able to catch up thanking that pony which had accidentally put a couple of coupons for martial arts classes into her mailbox and her mother for encouraging her to take up dance when she was a filly, mind you she had never performed but that didn't matter now. Instantly her mind flashed back to the task at hoof. She managed to notice a bent but strong branch that pointed to the sky. Raindrop sprinted up the branch and lunged at the crimson mare landing ontop of her in a large heap of orange and crimson.
The mare beared her Fangs and hissed at Raindrop as she pinned her to the ground.
"Who are you?!" screamed Raindrop in a frenzy of fear and adrenaline.
"I asked who are you?!"
The mare suddenly lunged at Raindrops as if to rip her throat out but that unbearable pain never came and instead felt the familiar pinching feeling in neck. Raindrop tried to pull away from the mare who was pulling her down with a pair of unseen limbs where a normal pegasi's wings would have been.
"Your worst nightmare." The mare whispered as she flashed a fanged grin before burying her face back into Raindrops neck.
"S-sto-op." moaned Raindrop as any remaining energy she had retained fleeted her her body and everything started to fade to black.
The last thing she heard was.. "Don't worry Raindrop this is only the begining."

Chapter 2: A twist in the a normal ponies tale
"Ow... My head." moaned a tired Raindrop as she took a minute to react.
"Wai-wait a min-minute?! This isn't Whitetail woods!"
"Whe-where am I-I?!"
"An-and whe-where is tha-that cree-creepy blood-suck-sucking ma-mare?" Stuttered Raindrop.
"If you could use your senses properly you might notice I am sitting right next to you." Came a shallow mare's voice."
Suddenly Raindrop noticed a set of green glowing reptilian eyes which she recognized instantly.
"Ahh!"
Raindrop tried to pull away but felt as if she was being held down by something.
"Let me g-go!"
"What would I acheive from that apart from a lack of wonderous and life replenishing blood."
Raindrop shot a cold, but at the same time scared look at the mysterious mare's glowing eyes. Suddenly she felt her body tense up and she wasn't even able to struggle.
She watched the glowing green eyes move away towards the moonlight illuminated area outside what seemed to be a cave.
And then suddenly the Mare shot a sharp look back at Raindrop and she suddenly started walking towards her. Try as she might she could not stop her legs from taking her exactly where she didn't want to go.
Raindrop felt that she was going to have a nervous breakdown any second now.
Suddenly she burst into tears and cried out almost all the fluids she contained and stood there whimpering quietly infront of the mare.
"This will definetly not do!" Bellowed the mare a angry expression crossing her face.
"How am I possibly going to make a 'Child of Darkness' out of a wimpering mess like you?!"
The words that escaped the crimson mare's lips at that moment caused Raindrop to go rigid with fear and cause herself to feel a slight bit excitement after reading those Vampony novels she got from the library.
suddenly for some unknown reason the mare shook her head wildely, at the same time Raindrop regained control of her body, falling to the floor.
The crimson mare's irises resizing to a normal ponies size afterwards.
"Oh-h I'm sorry, are you hurt?" said the Mare as she motioned a hoof towards Raindrop.
Raindrop wimpered away from the mysterious mare at this motion, and the Mare displayed a look of anger and sadness on her face.
"I won't hurt you." Said the mare as she walked towards Raindrop, and Raindrop moved further back until her flank touched the end of the cave.
"Wh-who are yo-you?" came a stuttered whimper from the pegasus's lips.
"O-oh sorry. My name is Lunapis Equineup Vampiris, but I doubt you can remeber all that so you just call me Crimson. And who in all of Equestria may you be?"
"R-r-r-raindr-dr-drop." Replied the now confused and terrified pegasus.
"Thats a really lovely name. Come here please, I promise I am not gonna hurt you."
Raindrop shuffled slightly closer.
"More than that...."
She shuffled a bit closer.
"I suspect I should meet her halfway." Crimson thought to her self releasing a large sigh as she thought.
Crimson started pushed the pegasus to the moonlight lit end of the cave. All the time Raindrop constantly whimpering.
"See that wasn't too hard was it?"
Crimson turned her face towards Raindrop but instead of another bite that Raindrop was expecting she recieved a warming muzzle on her cheek.
"See you don't need to worry about me."
"B-bu-but you bit me?" came a timid reply.
"Sorry about that... I haven't fed on blood in days, to be honest i'm suprised my blood-frenzied self left you alive. You should consider yourself lucky."
"Bu-bu-but why are you so suddenly different?" Asked a inquisitive Raindrop as she suddenly regained a slither of confidence towards the mare.
"As i said, I haven't fed on equine blood for days and I don't really want to drop dead." A slither of annoyance in her voice as she spoke.
"Wait so what are you? Are you a vampony by chance."
"Close."
"I am a 'Child of Darkness'."
"A what?"
"A 'Child of Darkness'."
"But your so like a vampony from those stories I read."
"Whats the difference?"
"Vamponies are fiction where as Children of Darkness actually exist. But I guess you could call me a Vampony."
"O-kay..."
"Anyway why when you bit me the second time, why did say you were MY worst nighmare?"
"That wasn't me."
"Yes it was."
"No. That was my 'Child of... Oh well lets just call it Vampony subconsous."
"Wait?!"
"What?"
"The second time my subconsious bit... I bit you did you feel blood down your neck?!"
"Come to think of it... No."
"Oh-no... That isn't good!"
"Why?"
"Maybe you would like to go and have a look in that lake..." Crimson said as her face lost its slowly fading and comforting smile she had worn a couple of minutes ago.
"Why?"
"Just look in the lake."
Raindrop quickly galloped to the lake and when she got there she noticed her reflection had a difference. Her jaw dropped in suprise and fear.
"FANGS?!............."
Author's Notes:
Sorry everybody for the cheesy latin it does NOT translate through Latin "Atleast I don't think anyway."
Sorry its still a bit short but I promise longer ones in future.
Raindrop woke with a start.
"Wow, that was a bad dream." said a tired Raindrop.
"Raindrop, that wasn't a dream." came a mysterious female voice.
"Wh-who's the-there?"
The mare appeared out of nowhere right next to Raindrop's head with her face featuring a wide fanged smile before giving Raindrop a warm snuzzle on the cheek.
"Ahh! Will you stop doing that!"
"S-sorry." wimpered Crimson.
"Wait!"
"Last night can't of happened! I must still be asleep and i'm just dreaming!"
"Afraid not." said a doubted Crimson.
"Go away! This is all a just a horrible dream. I'm gonna wake up soon and all of it will be a dream."
Crimson suddenly had a small spasm, shuddering wildly for a couple of seconds.
"Well.. we better make that statement true." Crimson said with a shallow voice.
Raindrop suddenly felt a wave of sleep crossed her and she was out in seconds, the image of Crimson fading from her eyes.
"Uggh..." moaned Raindrop.
"That sure was a bad dream." looking around the room to make sure it was dream.
It took a couple of minutes for her to get out of bed as she forced her drowsiness to fleet her.
As she trudged towards the stairs, looking out the window at the rising sun she felt a stinging sensation in her eyes and quickly turned away.
"Nothing out of the ordinary so far." Raindrop mumbled to herself.
As she went to eat her oatmeal before she even put the spoon in her mouth she experienced a horrible taste
in her mouth and thought better of her oatmeal as it suddenly felt so inexplicably un-appetising, she also only managed a large slug of her usually amazing coffee.
"Maybe i'm just a bit ill today. But I can't let Medley do all the work so i'll just have to pony-up!"
As soon as she had walked outside of her cloud home Raindrop was practically blind.
"Maybe I should go and quickly by myself some sunglasses." moaned Raindrop.
After about a hour of blindely stumbling around cloudsdale and bumping into random strangers Raindrop finally made it to a shop that sold sunglasses.
Finally Raindrop managed to pick out a simple pare of aviators, true they cost her 30 bits but it was worth it since she could actually see now.
About 30 minutes later she made it to work.
"Where were you?!" bellowed Crafty Crate.
"I'm sorry boss, I had really painful eyes this mornin' so i went to buy some sunglasses." whimpered Raindrop
"That is no excuse for being late!" shouted Crafty.
Raindrop started to pout and when Crafty turned round he didn't just see Raindrops normal guilty pout but infront of it was 2 glistening, long white fangs. At this Crafty jumped about 3 ponies high before landing with a thud.
"May-maybe you shu-should ta-take the d-day off si-sick." stuttered Crafty Crate.
"Are you sure boss?" asked Raindrop.
"I-i'm quite sure, by th-the w-way ma-maybe y-you sho-should con-cons-consider go-goin' to th-the doc-doctor." nervously said Crafty.
"Alright boss." said Raindrop.
"I wonder what was up with Crafty Crate today. Oh well I won't complain about a day off." Thanked Raindrop.
As Raindrop walked on she swore that she saw that pony from her dream last night.
"I must be a little stressed. Oh well."
"I guess I should go and see the doctor anyway see what he has to say."
On the way Raindrop caught many strange and scared looks from almost all the pegasi in cloudsdale.
"What is with everypony today?"
When Raindrop finally made it to the Cloudsdale clinic she didn't find the lovely pony at the desk she usually saw, but instead a small figure hunched right into the corner.
"I'm here to see a doctor." said Raindrop.
"He-hes ri-right in th-there." said the scared nurse as she motioned her hoof towards a pair of double doors.
"Thank you." said Raindrop.
"Why is everypony acting so weird around me today." Thought Raindrop.
"Hey doc' can you figure out whats wrong with me?" asked Raindrop as she walked in and noticed the doctor slouched in his chair in the corner.
"Now thats a famil-fa-fa-familiar voi-voice." The doctors voice suddenly cutting to a small whimper.
"Doc' whats wrong?" Raindrops voice cutting to a anxious whimper.
The doctor finally managed to compose himself enough to say:
"May-maybe you should go and see a De-dentist." stuttered the doctor.
"If you say so Doc'." said Raindrop as she trotted through the doors and pass the nurse at the desk.
"Well if the Doc' says I shou..." Raindrops throat ran dry as she finally realized.
She slowly motioned her hoof towards her teeth and there instead of her normal, flat pony teeth there were two sharp fangs hanging down too about 2 inches under her chin.
Then and there she finally new why everypony in the whole of Cloudsdale was scared.
She turned around about to run home so she could drown herself in sorrow when she saw the same crimson mare from her dream popping her head out of a nearby alley. The mare made a motion of her hoof for Raindrop to come over, the whole time a sly and fanged grin beared on her face.
Author's notes:
Yay chapter 3 is finally out. A big thx to my sample reader 'Extrememuffinz' for reading over my previous chapters and helping me too smoothen the bumps.
Chapter 4: Feeding on Crimson
"My dream can not have been real!" protested Raindrop.
"Oh but it was." Crimson said slyly.
"WILL YOU STO--"
Raindrop's voice was suddenly cut off as she was slammed against the wall and was being held up by her neck causing her to choke.
"Now down to business, I suggest if you want to live that you provide me with some accomodation and keep are secretly perfectly safe from any of these stupid pegasi. Do I make myself clear?"
"Y-yes." was the only word that Raindrop managed to sputter out before the hoof released and she fell to the floor gasping for air.
"Alright."
As they walked through cloudsdale towards Raindrops cloud home she took on another host of scared looks and Crimson decided it was time to feed and left behind a almost dead corpse in an alley.
"H-here w-we are." whimpered Raindrop.
"Why are you so scared of me Raindrop, i've had my fill for the day." asked Crimson.
"B-bec-because you nearly killed somepony!" shouted Raindrop.
"I guess i was hungrier than i thought. Huh?" awkwardly said Crimson.
"I GUESS I WAS HUNGRIER THAN I THOUGHT, MY LEFT WING!!!" shouted Raindrop.
"I HAD TO PULL YOU OFF HIM SO YOU WOULD STOP!!!"
"S-sorry." Crimson shedding some tears as she spoke.
"You have to learn to control yourself!"
"O-okay." said Crimson as she shedded a few more tears.
"Oh come on, there's not point crying over it now." said Raindrop as she was suddenly dropped into the awkward conversation.
"Wow i love your home it feels so... homie." exclaimed Crimson.
"Thanks its nothing really though."
"How can you say that? This house is absolutely lovely!
"Its really nothing."
"Right now down to you." Crimson becoming serious as she spoke.
"What about me?" asked Raindrop inquisitivly.
"Your changes, including your pearly whites." glancing at Raindrops muzzle as she spoke.
"Oh, that about me." Raindrop glanced to the floor, dreading the thoughts of what she soon would be doing as she spoke.
"So I guess I'm feeding tonight then?"
"Well the question is do you want to live?"
"Well, it would be preferable." said Raindrop.
"Your going to be feeding tonight then."
"What if something goes wrong or I end up kill--"
"You won't, I'll be with you for every step." said Crimson as she nuzzled Raindrop on the cheek.
"Thank you." after Raindrop finished they both broke into a friendly and compelling hug.
"But first."
"But first what?" asked Raindrop
"You might wanna catch some sleep." suggested Crimson.
"Why?"
"Because it will be your last until your eternal one." said Crimson in a annoyed tone.
"Oh. I'll take your advice then." said Raindrop in a flat tone.
"Oww..." Raindrop woke with a groan of pain.
"Evening." Crimson said with a pleasant tone and smile.
"Please don't shout... I'm right next to you." Raindrop groaned.
"Oh sorry." Crimson reducing her voice to a whisper.
"But Raindrop, i'm not shouting its your senses intensifying." Crimson said still keeping her voice at a low tone.
"O-okay." stuttering at the pain in her head.
"H-how long will it b-be til I g-get u-used to m-m-my sen-senses?" asked Raindrop.
"A week, give or take." said Crimson with a modest expression.
"O-okay. W-well i g-guess we sh-should g-get th-this over w-with."
"Thats the spirit!" giving Raindrop a heart-warming smile as she spoke.
"And if you drink soon there's less chance of you ripping someponies throat out!" Presenting a faux smile while knowing she said something she definetly shouldn't have.
"That... is reasurring." Raindrop said with a awkward smile beared on her face.
"Lets go then!" said Crimson as she turned for the stairs.
"Quieter please." complained Raindrop.
"Oh, sorry." apologised Crimson.
It took about half an hour for the two to find some decent prey. Crimson managed decided on a pair of pegasi mares, while Raindrop just wanted to get it over with.
"Alright Raindrop, i'm gonna get those two mares to come into this alley and then hypnotise and lock up there bodies. Okay?" Crimson asked.
"Alright, lets get this done."
After hypnotising the mares and forcing them to walk into the alley the two vamponies were ready to take there earnings.
"Okay Raindrop watch me." said Crimson.
As Crimson peirced the turqouise mares neck artery Raindrop watched anxiously as she caught sights of the rich, flowing blood seep out of the mares body.
Once Crimson had finished she gave a satisfied sigh and motioned for Raindrop to do the same to the yellow mare.
At first Raindrop took a while to peirce the mears neck artery with her fangs, and even she did it was quite a messy cut. As Raindrop started to lap at the blood flowing from the artery she felt a warm, tingling sensation overcome her body and she was immediately indulged herself into what was tonights blood bank. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever tasted.
Between gulps Raindrop managed to put together:
"I-I-I L-l-lo-love i-i-it."
Crimson returning a satisfied smile as she saw Raindrop lap up all the flowing blood.
"Alright, Raindrop stop now." said Crimson.
"B-b --" was all Raindrop managed to say before she spotted the guard at the end of the alleyway.
"HALT!" bellowed the guard.
Crimson turned around in bewilderment before being hit by a speeding pegasus, managing to knock her against the wall.
Crimson looked up and Raindrop noticed the pure fury in her reptilian eyes as they began to turn a bright red.
Before the guard knew what was happening Crimson had managed to jump on top of the guard, hissing at him.
In a single motion Crimson whipped her head to his neck and lapped at his blood, the guard seeming to be able to do anything.
In a few seconds the guard went cold the blue fading from his coat.
"I-is h-he d-d-d-de-dead?" Was all Raindrop managed to force from her throat.
"No." snapped Crimson.
Raindrop suddenly felt intimidated by the pony again, but when Crimson turned her head around instead of seeing rage in bright red pupils, Raindrop saw the ponies natural green eyes again and a smile beared on her face.
"Up for seconds?" Crimson asked sarcastickly.
Raindrop just nodded in response.
Author's Notes:
Yay i finally got number 4 out and its finally long! I hope you all enjoy this one because it took some time. Chapter 5 will be coming soon!
After a long night of blood-sucking, hiding and running, Raindrop and Crimson had managed to make it to Raindrop's cloud home and evade the Cloudsdale guard.
"W-well... I-i guess we are in a worse sit-situation th-than I th-thought." panted Crimson with a releived smile painted on her lips.
"W-we managed to g-get the wh-whole Cl-cl-cloud-cloudsdale l-local g-g-guard on us." agreed Raindrop.
"I-i-i underestimated this arm-amour clad stal-stallions. Th-they can r-really pu-put up a f-fight."
"N-no k-kidding." Raindrop said sarcastically.
"S-so what now?" asked Raindrop as she finally regained her breath.
"Well I think we will have to leave Cloudsdale." suggested Crimson.
"Wait! What! Why?!" demanded Raindrop.
"Well we ca--" Crimson's voice was cut off by the heavy knocking at the door.
"This is the C.E.G and we demand you to open up!"
"The what?" whispered Crimson.
"Cloudsdale Elite Guard." Raindrop answered.
"Oh... Well that can't be good, can it?" said Crimson.
"Not really." agreed Raindrop.
"We demand you to open up!" Came the voice again.
"What should we do?" asked Raindrop.
"Do what we do best. Run." Crimson said slyly.
"How are we gonna get out though? Surely they surrounded us?" implied Raindrop.
"We distract them." Crimson beared a smile on her face as she said this.
"How?" asked Raindrop.
"Leave all of that to me."
The guards voice came again:
"If you do not open this door right now we will have to enter by force!" bellowed the guard.
Raindrop looked around to Crimson with fear in her eyes, but instead of seeing the crimson pony with the black and midnight purple mane she saw a deep rose coloured pony with a blonde mane and tail, the only similarity was the same emerald green, reptilian eyes that she had seen on the previous crimson pony.
"Wai--"
Before she could continue Crimson had raised her hoof to Raindrop's mouth.
"Shh... It's alright." Crimson said placing a comforting smile on her face.
Crimson was just about to say something when there was a loud 'THUD' against the door which forced it to fall backwards.
"Halt!" bellowed the guard.
The guard was a large deep blue stallion with a black mane. He was covered in armour from head to hoof.
Raindrop backed away slightly from the stallion.
"You are to lie down as we search this house! If you do not comply you will be put under arrest!" shouted the guard.
"Officer there is no need for shouting." said Crimson.
"I am in charge here and so you will do what I say!" walking up to Crimson and staring her right in the face as he spoke.
Suddenly Crimson gave the guard a vicious upper-cut to his chin leaving the guard in a daze then she swiveled around on her front legs and kicked with her back with all her might. At impact the guard was instantly knocked out and was thrown across the room and hit the far wall with a loud 'CRACK'.
"Follow me!" shouted Crimson as another pair of stallions proceeded towards them.
Crimson ran at highspeed through the house missing everything within inches. When they reached the end of house instead of Crimson stopping at the wall she jumped out of the window. Clamping her wings to her body as she did so. With no where else to go Raindrop followed Crimson out of the window into the early morning glow of the rising sun. The guards did not proceed to follow but instead of slipping away easily just as she expected she was pursued by another group of guards diving down towards the two falling pegasi.
"What now?!" Raindrop shouted to the falling pegasus below her.
"Just copy me!" Crimson shouted back.
As the two vamponies continued to plummet towards the ground the following guards who were diving to try and match the falling pegasi's speed.
Suddenly Crimson opened her wings to there full spread and flew away from the rest. Raindrop copied this and as she did it she felt as if her wings would rip off but luckily they held.
As Raindrop turned her head around to the sight of the three diving guards struggling desperately to slow themselves down. But sadly it was to late for that and they all plumeted head first into the hard dirt. At this sight Raindrop suddenly felt a wave of guilt, sadness and disgust with herself wash over her. But she had to put that out of her mind and proceeded towards Crimson.
"We'll land in the Everfree forest!" shouted Crimson.
Knowing better than to judge Crimson, Raindrop immediately accepted the suggestion and they proceeded to land in a small dark clearing in the Everfree forest.
Raindrop thought over her guilt for a moment before looking up to see the same Crimson pony from before.
"Did you like my magic trick?" Crimson joyfully asked.
"You better teach me that trick soon."
