She opens her notebook and starts working on your homework.
You look down at your own school work.
You're finding it very hard to actually start doing it.
Twilight sees you not doing your work after a couple of minutes pass with you doing nothing.
"Anon?"
"Yeah?"
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing"
"Exactly! Do your homework!" she says, halfway joking at you.
You sigh, REALLY not wanting to do it.
"Do you need help?"
You open up your mathematics book.
She gets up and starts walking across the table.
Pushing a chair up next to you, she sits down...uncomfortably close to you.
"Okay, what kind of math is this...Oh! Algebra! Easy stuff."
"Easy?"
"Uhuh! You have trouble with this?"
You look away, embarrassed.
"Sort of."
She giggles and then asks, "Okay, where you at?"
You glance back at the book.
"Chapter 11, Radical Equations."
"Oh. I hate these."
"You're telling me."
"Okay, well, the first step to solving any radical equation is to isolate the radical on one side of the equation."
"What?"
She looks at you with an exasperated look.
"Did you catch ANY of that?"
"Not really, no."
"Okay, lets down an example then..."
She starts writing some sort of weird hieroglyphics into your notebook.
"The square root of 2x + 3 = 7. Isolate the radical."
"What? That doohickey?" you say, pointing at the square root number.
"Yep. Isolate it."
Her ordering you around is kind of hot.
Okay, whatever.
"So by isolate, you mean get it by itself."
You subtract the three from both sides.
"Exactly! Good job, Anon." she says, looking up at you with a smile on her face.
She's adorable.
"Okay, now what should you do?"
You have no fucking clue what to do.
And she's still sitting uncomfortably close to you.
Has she no respect for personal space?
You reach for your pencil, about to attempt to continue the problem.
She awkwardly places her hand on top of yours.
Oh that was SO staged.
"Whoops..."
Your face goes red anyway.
Her hand is soft and warm.
"Oh uhh, my bad."
"Not at all, heh..."
Awkward.
"S-So next, you need to square both the radical and the number on the other side of the equals sign."
"This sucks."
"Whining isn't going to help you at all."
"This is true."
You square both sides.
"Now that you've squared you can cancel out the square root sign."
"I can?" you say happily.
"Yup! Now square the four as well and then solve it like a normal equation."
You complete the rest of the problem with ease.
"Great job, Anon."
"Heh...Thanks."
"That was a really basic one, though...it can get a lot harder than that."
"Its math. It always gets a lot harder..."
"Math is just numbers and rules. Its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be."
You shrug.
Suddenly, she moves her things over to where she is now currently sitting.
Oh, she's going with permanent residence with this awkward positioning now?
Well...at least she smells nice.
You hope you do too.
You put on deodorant.
Maybe you should invest in some cologne or something.
She sits back down next to you and starts working on her homework again.
Theres an awkward silence as you sit and try to do math.
She helps you periodically, you running into a couple of snags here and there.
You think you're getting the hang of it, though.
As you both sit and work silently, she speaks up.
"Hey, Anon."
"Yo."
You're lame.
"Do you want to hang out with the band and I this friday?"
"Sounds like fun."
Wait a second.
Friday?
........
FUCK.
"W-Why Friday?" you ask.
She gives you a quizzical look, but responds, "Its the day I usually hang out with the band all day and practice. It would be a perfect time for you to come meet them."
"Oh...Well..."
You don't really want to turn her down and hurt her feelings. She's obviously trying to get closer to you.
Fuck it.
"Sorry, I have plans on Friday."
"Oh..."
You sigh, not wanting to disappoint her.
"What about Next friday?"
She brightens up a bit, you showing genuine interest.
"Well, I guess that works." she says.
Okay, that wasn't so bad.
"We haven't planned that far ahead, but its been the same for the past few weeks."
"Sounds good."
Your conversation dies down once again as both of you try to finish up your homework.
You check the clock.
4:31 PM
Its been an hour and a half already.
You drop your pencil and stretch, letting out a long, drawn out yawn.
"Tired?" she giggles.
"Yup. This is really boring."
"What do you do for fun?"
"What, like after school?"
"Yeah!"
Well, might as well be honest with her.
"Well you know I read, but I play Video Games too."
She scoffs, "You boys and your video games."
"You don't like video games?"
She shakes her head.
"Waste of time, in my opinion."
"Well your opinion is wrong. Have you even played a good video game?"
"Yeah. I've tried phone games before."
"Those are NOT good."
"What? Tons of people play them."
"No, they're cheap and made for a quick gash grab. They lack overall substance in the long run too."
She narrows her eyes at you.
"They're all the same."
"Nope. I'll show you if you want."
She fidgets a little bit.
"I guess, maybe"
"We can play them at my place."
"I can come to your place?"
"Uhh...yeah, why not? I've been to yours."
She smiles at you.
"Okay!"
"We can go now if you want."
She shakes her head.
"I've got band practice soon."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, I head over to Sweet Apple Acres to practice with the band almost every evening."
"EVERY evening?"
"Well, not EVERY evening, but most weeks we practice almost every evening after school."
"You guys are dedicated."
"Well yeah, and its a whole lot of fun. Thats why we do it so much."
You both start packing up your things.
You're more than ready to get out of this shit hole.
As you both sling your backpacks over your shoulders, you walk out of the library together.
No sign of Cheerilee. You hate the awkward feeling you get every time you see her.
Both you and Twilight leave school, she heads off to the farm, giving you a warm goodbye.
Well...now you've got the entire rest of the day to yourself.
You decide to head home and relax.
The rest of the week passes by.
But finally, friday comes.
You're extremely nervous the entire day.
You get out of school though, moving with the crowds of kids.
You're not staying after today, and neither is Twilight.
Fridays aren't meant to be spent at school.
