Chapters Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
Hi there, I am Roe. You probably remember me from the previous episode of the series. Wait, what do you mean you don't remember me? Roe? Eighteen year old katana wielder with some amnesia? Saved Equestria from certain doom? Only human alive in a world full of talking ponies, unicorns, pegasi, and alicorns? Ring a bell? No? Fine, let's just get on with it.
On the way home from Canterlot, which seemed to take forever because I had a sack full of one hundred thousand bits being pulled by a wagon, I overheard that Pinkie Pie was planning a party for me since I had saved Equestria, but I think I had imagined that part. *Dang, this wagon is heavy! Even with me and Big Macintosh pulling it, and Twilight using her magic to make it lighter, it is STILL extremely heavy!* I thought to myself as sweat poured from my head. But then I remembered Twilights' magic wasn't very strong because her horn was still partially healing from when Queen Chrysalis captured us. Princess Cadence knew a spell that could heal Twilights' horn, but the spell wasn't strong enough to fully heal it. It still had a few chips in it missing, but hey! She could perform magic again! Wasn't as strong as before, but her horn would heal. Eventually.
Fluttershy said that she had a special friend finally coming over tomorrow after a few months working at Appleloosa, a town that relies on apples as their main food source. Kind of like a western version of "Sweet Apple Acres" if it were a small town. She mentioned that even she was surprised that "HE" would be doing some work.
"But then again, he DID accidentally destroyed a bar there. So I guess he was just trying to make up for it. Unless he was forced to so he didn't go to Appleloosa jail."
I started growing suspicious. "Who is, 'HE'?" No I was not getting jealous! Okay, maybe a little. But I still had the right to ask who 'HE' was.
Fluttershy giggled a bit. "I'm not saying. It's a surprise! I just know that you two will get along though. You're both funny, kind, and you both care about animals."
I decided to ignore it as I watched Pinkie Pie and Rainbowdash run off to Ponyville without us. As we continued walking the wagon seemed to become slightly lighter. I looked to my right where an empty harness should have been and found Applejack pulling along with us. Big Mac was to my left and I was in the middle, pulling onto a rope.
We traveled for a few hours, about half a mile to Ponyville and about two miles to my house. We were all sweating badly now, and Twilight almost fainted from exhaustion trying to keep the spell going. I looked down at my watch that I had bought before we left Canterlot. It was almost ten.
Fluttershy tried helping to push the cart, but it wasn't really doing any difference. All of us almost passed out from fatigue when we heard a familiar voice.
I looked to my right and found the same mint green unicorn and the cream colored earth pony from when Queen Chrysalis' clone captured us. "We can help you! It won't cost you anything! We can help you push the cart to your house!"
We continued pushing and pulling when something weird happened. Me, Big Mac, and AJ Were all suddenly refreshed and feeling strong as ever! The mint green unicorn had cast a spell making us not tired any more. She also helped by casting the same spell Twilight was casting and the earth pony helped pushing the wagon with Fluttershy. The wagon suddenly started to pick up speed and within a few hours, we had pushed the wagon inside a large shed that was connected to my house.
As twilight, Fluttershy, and the two Apples left after saying goodbye, the unicorn and earth pony were almost ready to faint from fatigue. Their house was on the other side of Ponyville, so I let them stay at my place for the night. I always had a spare bedroom that was for when guests came over. They happily came inside and thanked me.
The two greeted themselves, Lyra Heartstrings and Bon "Sweetiedrops" Bon. I showed them around a bit. When I had shown them the spare bedroom, Bon Bon flew right on top of it and was out almost instantly! I walked back downstairs and got an apple out of a cooler. Since I couldn't find a refrigerator anywhere that wasn't over thirteen thousand bits, I managed to build a homemade cooler out of a metal box, ice, and a metal lid to place over the container. I offered one to Lyra and she took it hungrily.
We sat down at the table, Lyra sitting in a strange pose with legs dangling like people, eating our red, juicy fruit when she asked me all I knew about humans. She said that she always knew that they existed, but never had any real proof and often got laughed at by other ponies. Apparently, Bon Bon was the only one who didn't laugh at her. I happily told her everything I could remember about the human race. I often had to draw pictures in my notebook to explain some things a bit more. She was extremely shocked when she learned about all of the wars and racism. I told her how I just wanted peace, like how it is here. But I knew that back home on Earth, there would never be a time where there was "100% World Peace". Lyra was extremely intrigued when I told her about modern technology, like computers and Television. I remembered everything because I wrote and drew pictures of these things just in case I had a more serious case of amnesia.
After explaining all this stuff, something else interested me. "Hey, Lyra. If you like to study humans allot, then why is your cutie mark a lyre?"
She looked down at her cutie mark, then thought for a moment. "I guess it is there because I am really good at playing the lyre. And when i'm not studying what I know about humans, I go to different schools around Equestria and teach young fillies and colts how to play the lyre if they want to. I guess it would be more 'Human Related' if I learned about humans sooner. But, I probably would get laughed at more by other ponies then."
Lyra started to get depressed. I kind of felt sorry that she was getting laughed at, but now I new a way to cheer her up. "At least now you can laugh at them for not believing." I said with a chuckle.
She looked up for a moment and smiled. Something came to her mind, and she hopped off the chair. "oh, I have got to show you something! Well, I have practiced this trick almost every night, but it causes my backside to hurt after a while of doing it. But the more I do it, the less my backside hurts!" She propped up onto her hind legs and actually started to 'WALK' around the room!
I laughed a bit. I never have seen a pony who actually could walk! I wasn't making fun of her though, I was just so amused at this neat little trick! She set herself back down onto all fours and rubbed her back a little. I clapped quietly for a bit and looked back down at my watch. My face gave a small look of shock as the watch read '1:00 AM'.
Lyras' slight smile transformed into a slight frown. "What's the matter?" I showed her my watch and she gave the same expression.
I got up from the table and traveled up the stairs. "Welp, it's time for some sleep. G'night Lyra!" I called as I entered my room.
She waved before she entered the guest room. "Good night, Roe." She whispered so her sleepy friend could continue to sleep.
When Lyra opened the door I heard Bon Bon call out. "Good night Roe!"
I laughed and shouted across the hall. "I thought you were asleep!"
"Well it's kind of hard when you two are making loud noises downstairs!" She retorted.
I chuckled and yelled, "Good Night," as I entered my bedroom.
When I took off my pants and socks, leaving the white tee shirt on like I always do, I climbed in the blankets. Fang jumped on top of the bed with me and curled up, sleeping next to me. Pretty soon, I was out as well.
7 HOURS LATER
I woke up at 8:00 A.M. like always. After I got some clothes on I walked downstairs. When I did, I found pancakes and a note on the table. Picking it up, I read the note.
Thank you for everything. You are even nicer than some other ponies we know! We wanted to thank you for being so nice to us, so Bon Bon left extremely early for some nearby markets and bought the ingredients to make pancakes, because who doesn't love pancakes?! Anyways, me and Bon Bon made you breakfast for being so nice to us.
Lyra Heartstrings and Bon Bon.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
What's Wrong With A Little CHAOS?
After finishing the breakfast my new friends had made me, I walked off to Fluutershys' cottage. She said that 'HE' wouldn't come until 10:00, so I decided to arrive five minutes early. I knocked on the door. The door slowly creaked open, then opened widely. Fluttershy invited me in.
"'HE' arrives in a few minutes. I hope you don't mind if things start to get, um, strange."
I raised an eyebrow. "Strange?"
She looked back at the clock. "I mean, crazy, like Pinkie Pie, but crazier."
There was a knock on the door. Fluttershy went to go open it, but nobody was there.
I stared at the door as she closed it. When she did, something caused me to fall out of my chair. A loud, sing-song voice yelled in my ear, "I'm BAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I got up onto my feet and turned around. Nobody. I felt something tap on my should. I knew this trick. Pinkie pulled it on me before. "I know you're behind me! I've met Pinkie Pie long enough to know this trick!" I laughed out as I turned around. A strange, dragon, bear, snake, thing was behind me.
I did the only thing I thought of. "AAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!"
He responded. "AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
We both screamed in unison.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I was frozen in fear as he started laughing! "What are you?" I asked this, this, this thing.
I heard his voice in my ear, but his mouth wasn't moving! "The better question is, Who am I?" I turned to my left and saw him hanging upside down behind me! I looked in front of me. He wasn't there, he somehow teleported behind me! But how? I was watching him, but he was behind me! Unless, it was some sort of illusion, but how? The one in front of me, or the one that was, was actually there, right? I should stop thinking about it so much. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it!
Fluttershy walked up to us and greeted each other to us. "Roe, this is Discord. Discord, meet Roe, the savior of Equestria! He saved all of us from Queen Chrysalis!"
Discord started to circle me, inspecting my body. "Hmm, I can't seem to figure out what you are, and I know almost every type of living thing in Equestria!"
I replied with a blank and simple comment. "That's because I don't come from Equestria."
He just stared at me for a moment. "Oh, oh, I know what you are!!! You are..................a MONKEY!!!!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Not exactly. I mean, my kind originated from apes thousands of years ago, but I wouldn't say that I'm a monkey. You see, I am a human. Not a monkey."
His eager smile turned into a not-so-happy-frown. "I see." He snapped his fingers and with a *POOF*, he was to my right. "I would be so much happier if you were a monkey. Oh well," He snapped his fingers again, and a glass of water appeared in his hand. "As you know, I'm Discord. I'm a draconequus, a dragon that is mixed with all types of animals! See? Horse head, deer antler, antelope horn, horse leg, reptile leg, snake tail, lion paw, bird arm, bird wing, dragon wing, all of the correct parts of a draconequus in their respectful places!"
He drank the glass and ate the water afterward!!! "How is that possible? You drank the glass, and ate the water! It's supposed to be you drink water and DON'T eat the glass! This doesn't make any sense."
He came from out of nowhere behind me, when he was just in front of me, and wrapped his lion arm around my shoulder. "Oh, what fun is there in making sense? What's wrong with a little, 'Chaos'?"
Fluttershy stepped forward and glared at him angrily. "Now, Discord. What did we say about making chaos?"
Discord stood up, lowering his head and kicked at the ground. "Oh I know. I was just trying to exaggerate myself, that's all."
Fluttershy flew up to his head and raised it up so he'd look at her. "It's alright. I just don't want him to think you'll be any trouble, okay?"
He smiled a bit and nodded his head.
We continued talking a bit and getting to know each other more when I heard three loud screams. They sounded like like fillies.
All of the sudden, the earth shook. Pictures fell off the shelves, and we fell to the ground. When the world around us stopped shaking, the window beside the couch burst into hundreds of shards as three young, familiar little fillies were thrown into the house. They were badly bruised and one of them had a huge cut on their hind leg.
Applebloom, Sweetiebelle, and Scootaloo all ran up to us, telling us what happened. It was hard to understand however, because they were all talking at the same time, explaining different parts of the story. At the end, they all just cried, "HELP!!!"
A large Timberwolf burst through the wall that the crusaders flew in through. The Timberwolf wasn't your average Timberwolf. It was almost as tall as Discord, and had branches sticking out of his back like mad. Its' eyes were blood red. It also had blood oozing from its' mouth.
As I reached for my katana blade, the beast took in a deep breath, and let out a sonic roar. The earth shook like mad, and I, like always, blacked out.
The next thing I knew, I was in a hospital bed, hooked up to a heart monitor. I looked over to my left. My left arm was wrapped up in bandages.
I tried to sit up, but I winced and fell back down as pain shot through my back. There was a knock at the door.
"Come in!" I yelled.
The door opened slightly. Someone came in, moving backwards. I heard a muffled talking when they came in, as if they were speaking to somebody else. I could make out a mint green coat, but the door covered the face. When I saw whose face it was, I smiled. Lyra came in, carrying a small bag in her mouth. She walked up to the table next to me and set the bag down. It was about the size of a money pouch, but was filled with candy.
Lyra smiled a bit. "Me and Bon Bon made you some sweets. We thought it would be a good idea, since you were in the hospital and the other side of Ponyville is being attacked by mutated Timberwolves and all."
My eyes shot open. "What?!?!"
She kept acting like t was no big deal as she continued. "Yeah, but the royal guard and Fang has it covered. Not much else is goin' on."
Before I could even speak, a Timberwolf, same as last time, burst in through the wall. The beast threw Lyra to the other side of the room.
I sat in a somewhat upright position and screamed as hard as I could, both in fear, and the because of the pain surging through my back.
When I heard a low growl coming from behind me and felt something breathing down my neck, I froze. I turned around and was face to face with the mutated Timberwolf. I tried my hardest to scream for help, but all the came out was a slight whimper. I was helpless in the state I was in. No katana, injured back and arm, and a bloodthirsty Timberwolf right in front of me, ready to strike at any moment. Before it could, a familiar grey husky shot out from behind the beast in front of me and started tearing chunks of wood out from the back of its' neck.
As the monster fell onto the floor, dead, I yelled out to my favorite husky, "Atta boy, Fang!!!"
Then, as the creatures' dead body started twitching, I fell down to the left side of the bed and covered my ears as Fang pulled Lyra out from the ceiling rubble that had fallen onto her head, knocking her out, and dragged her behind the bed with us. The Timberwolves' dead body started twitching much more violently now. By the time Lyra had awoken, the beast blew up in a fiery explosion filling almost the entire room that had almost burnt her mane.
She looked up from behind the bed and stared in awe at the scorched hospital room. "What the hay happened?"
I got up from behind the bed also, with Fang helping me up, and looked at the scorched body as well. "The thing blew up. Hey look!" I picked up my pouch of candy that miraculously survived the explosion. "Your little gift survived!" I looked inside. The candies were all still in one piece. Lyra giggled a bit when I unwrapped a small piece of gum and placed it inside her mane.
She used her horn to pick the wrapper out.
I looked at her as I continued chewing the tasty artificial orange flavored gum. "Tastes great! When you said Bon Bon could make almost every type of candy I thought you were exaggerating!"
She started laughing as I acted like nothing had happened five minutes ago.
"What? I asked her.
She managed to stop laughing for long enough to speak. "You're acting like nothing just happened in here when a large Timberwolf just exploded in this room!!!" She couldn't continue another second without laughter and tears started rolling down her cheeks from laughing so hard.
I stopped chewing for a second. "You, have NO ROOM TO SPEAK!!! YOU WERE ACTING ALL CASUAL WHILE YOU WERE TELLING ME ABOUT THE TIMBERWOLVES, AND SAID, AND I QUOTE, "not much else is goin' on" BEFORE YOU WERE ATTACKED BY ONE!!!!" I yelled between laughs, trying not to at least giggle and act serious.
She blushed for a second. "Right....oops...."
I facepalmed right after she said "oops" so hard, I almost bruised my nose.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
I put on my clothes, which were on the table next to me. We ran through the hallways of the hospital. My back wasn't hurting anymore, and I was certain I didn't have an adrenaline rush because I hit my right hand on the side of a door earlier and it stung a bit. We were almost to the exit when I saw the lost and found section. It was full of toys, coats, and other various items. I found my belt with the katana in its' sheath.
I grabbed the katana out of its' sheath and put the belt on. Running outside, I heard Fang yelp loud enough to hear it on the other side of the hospital. I looked around and found Fangs' leg stuck under some rubble that had fallen from a nearby building, and a mutated Timberwolf crawling up to him.
Running towards the beast, I leaped into the air and swung the blade downwards, cutting its' head clean off. Quickly picking up the rubble and getting Fang out of the area, I was only a few feet from getting scorched as the creature burst into flames. There weren't many others. We did hear loud explosions at times but they were usually pretty far away.
As we continued running down the streets of Ponyville, it started to rain. No, it wasn't raining, it was storming . We were soaked right after the storm started. Lyra managed to put up an amber colored bubble shield, but we were still soaked. She also levitated all the water off of us and tossed it out of the bubble. We continued walking for about twenty minutes or so until we spotted a female pegasus in an alleyway with something enveloped in her wings. She had a blond mane and tail, yellow cross-eyed eyes, and a grey coat, just like the mailmare from a few months ago. Looking up for a second, her wings opened up a bit and revealed a purplish unicorn filly with a blond mane and yellow eyes.
Lyra waved to her. "Hey Ditzy! You and Dinky can come and join us! We're headed for-" She turned to me. "Where are we going?"
I face palmed. "I was following you! I thought you knew where shelter was!"
"Oh. Hey Ditzy, you and Dinky can come join us! We're looking for a place to stay until the storm dies out!" The mint green mare gestured the pegasus our way.
She placed the filly under her wings and ran over to us. She made it and was barely wet surprisingly. I looked over to the filly. She kept behind the pegasus, obviously shy.
Lyra continued walking down the street we were on. Lyra said that one of her friends had a house down this street. I asked how she knew, but Lyra just kept on saying, "You'll know it when you see it."
We walked for a few more minutes until we heard a beat in the distance. Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, it just kept going on like that accompanied by other noises. When we saw a house with windows that had a blueish glow to them when the beat turned into a loud whistling that kept going higher, and higher, and higher. When Lyra knocked on the door, the music stopped. The door opened and a familiar white unicorn with red eyes and a light blue mane greeted us, but we could barely hear what she was saying as the music came back with a loud blasting wave that shook my insides. She greeted us inside and walked over to some turntables. She used her magic and turned a nozzle, turning the music down so we could hear her.
She had a very boyish voice as she greeted herself to me. "Sup. Names Vinyl. You've probably heard of me. Hey, I know you! You're that human that Pinkie Pie told me about. So how's it like, not having much memory of yourself and being the only human in Equestria?"
I looked around a bit. A group of speakers attached together, a turntable connected to it, and and rack of records next to it. "Pretty good. I guess I might like to have my memory back, but if I did, there might be some terrible memories that I wouldn't like to have...again."
A grey mare with charcoal mane, white collar, and pink bow peered in from an opening that seemed to lead to a kitchen. She sounded and looked very, sophisticated. I can't really imagine a DJ living with a mare that looked like like her. "Vinyl? Oh, are you friends with Vinyl? I'm sorry if her, 'music', was too loud. I made some tea if any of you want some."
The white unicorn just rolled her eyes. "Even though I don't like your classical music very much, you don't see me calling it ,'music', like that."
"Well, you obviously don't understand what real music IS! Real music is composed of different amounts of-"
"Blah blah blah yadda yadda music can be anything that has a beat to it and makes you want to dance, like dubtrot!"
"Well, dubtrot may be considered music to you, it really isn't true music! The symphony I play in is real music, because it is made up of actual instruments, not synthesized waves and beeping noises that make my ears bleed!"
The argument started to intensify. The two mares were up in each others face, muzzle to muzzle, ready to physically hurt each other until Lyra and Ditzy came in and pushed them out of each others face. Lyra used her magic to keep the earth pony back, and Ditzy flapped her wings, keeping Vinyl at bay.
I was ready get in there too, until I felt something brush up against my leg. I looked down and found the purple unicorn filly hiding behind my legs shivering in fear at the sight. What was her name? Dinky? I looked up and the fight had stopped. Lyra was in the corner of the room, talking to the two mares, and Ditzy came our way. She sat down and spread her left wing. The filly came out from behind me and ran up to the pegasus. They embraced each other, with Ditzy's wing wrapped around the filly.
I heard Ditzy whisper into the filly's ear, "I'm very sorry you had to see that Dinky." The filly started lightly sobbing. Ditzy started rocking the young unicorn back and forth, helping calm her down.
I couldn't help but smile. Today was crazy. First I was knocked out by a mutant Timberwolf, ended up in the hospital, almost got killed by a mutant Timberwolf, almost lost Fang to- Fang. I forgot about him completely. I looked outside the window. It was still pouring down hard, but he was very dry under the porch. I turned around to Ditzy.
"Hey, Ditzy, is she scared of big dogs?" I pointed to the filly. She shook her head "no". I opened the door and let Fang inside. He was one hundred percent clean, so I'm pretty sure the sophisticated grey mare, who I think I heard Vinyl and Lyra call 'Octavia', wouldn't mind. Ditzy unwrapped her wings, revealing the purplish colored filly. She ran up to Fang, smiling and petting the magical dog. She started laughing as Fang nudged her a bit with his muzzle. Ditzy looked up at me and mouthed out, 'Thank you'. I smiled and looked back down at the laughing filly.
Dinky was having fun, laughing and playing with Fang, but it was all ruined when one of the three in the edge of the room, most likely Octavia, yelled out loud. "WHAT IS THAT 'THING' DOING IN HERE?! DOGS ARE FILTHY AND DISGUSTING ANIMALS! GET 'IT' OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW!"
I looked up at her, and I wasn't very happy. But she was much more angry than me by a longshot. "I was just trying to make this little filly happy since your argument made her cry. And Fang is not a 'Thing', or an 'IT', and he is completely clean! He saved me and many others. Without him, we would of all been killed by the changeling hives!"
She took on an all new expression, changing from anger to shock and disappointment. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know that it was you and, um, 'Fang', that had saved us." Vinyl and the grey mare both looked down at the ground.
Lyra put a hoof around the grey mare's shoulder. "It's okay Octavia. Today has been crazy. The town was attacked, it's storming outside, we were all getting annoyed by something."
Vinyl looked up and seemed to be counting in her head. "Okay, it seems like this storming isn't calming down anytime soon, and I'm pretty sure that it is almost midnight. Luckily, we have three spare rooms that came with this house. So, if you are planning on staying, you are more than welcome to sleep here tonight."
Dinky cheered as she hugged her Ditzy. I could tell now that Dinky was Ditzy's daughter, because if they were sisters, they would probably not get along as well as they do. Me and Lyra seemed happy at the idea of having a place to stay for the night since we both had a place to go tomorrow.
30 MINUTES LATER
We all got to know each other a bit. When I asked Vinyl about my money, she said that I had sold the whole thing for another pack of cider back at the party while I was tremendously drunk, then I passed out after a few minutes. I still couldn't believe it, however. It felt like I passed out about ten minutes after I got hungover, but instead I was drunk for about an hour.
Vinyl lived with her roommate, who I can now kind of understand why a bit better, 'Octavia Philharmonica'. Yeah. That is her full name. She just goes by Octavia though, just like how Lyra goes by 'Lyra', and not her full name, 'Lyra Heartstrings'. Octavia wasn't the most popular filly in her school, in fact, often got made fun of and called 'Fancy', which was considered an insult and uncool at her school. Don't ask me how it got started, because she doesn't understand either. The only one there who liked her was Vinyl, and Vinyl was known for getting careless by sliding across the tables on a tray during lunch time, climbing on top of the school and listening to dubtrot at recess, and often playing dubtrot during music. With Vinyl being the only filly who liked Octavia, they soon became friends. Even though they didn't have much in common, Vinyl still stood up for Octavia and even went to her friends concerts, no matter how 'boring' the music was. Vinyl had always been there for Octavia.
Vinyl remembered her schooldays very well. She even said these exact words about them. "I knew that sliding on the tables during lunch and climbing the building at recess were considered 'reckless', 'crazy' and even 'troublesome', but the thing at music, I don't understand why I couldn't play dubtrot during music class. It's still music. What gives?"
Ditzy , or Ditzy Hooves, lived with her daughter, Dinky Hooves. Ditzy often called her daughter 'Dinky Doo', or 'Muffin' as nicknames. Dinky got the nickname 'Muffin', because Ditzy's favorite food were muffins. Dinky also got the nickname 'Dinky Doo' when she was a few years old and learning to speak. She once said, "Dinky do, see you!" and her mother started calling her 'Dinky Doo'ever since. Ditzy worked as the towns MailMare and often worked delivering mail in the region of Ponyville that I live in, the southeastern part of Ponyville. My house is just outside the Everfree forest, about a mile or less to the left of Fluttershy's Cottage. Ditzy also had a husband named 'Time Turner', but he traveled quite a bit. He often came home during one of Dinky's school breaks and always came home during a holiday. She said that he worked well with watches and clocks, one of the best stallions in Equestria with them, and often had to go somewhere and fix or help determine the value of a clock or watch.
It was about time to go to sleep. Everybody, and Fang, walked upstairs and went into five different bedrooms. The two on the right were Vinyl and Octavia's rooms. The three on the left were the guest rooms. Dinky ran into the room closest to the stairs, with her mother following behind. I headed for a room in the middle, but was stopped when Lyra asked me a question.
"Hey, Roe? Is it okay if I sleep with you tonight? I usually sleep with Bon Bon, not in a lesbian way though, it's just that I'm not very comfortable sleeping alone. I never have been ever since I was a filly. All because of a stupid prank someponies pulled on me. You don't mind if I sleep with you tonight, do you?"
I didn't see why not. I'm still scared of being alone in the dark since I can't see a thing. I'm not scared of the dark, I am scared that something could be hiding in it and attack while I am unarmed. She had something pretty similar, it seemed. Probably a fear kind of like mine.
I nodded my head. "Sure you can. Just don't try anything funny."
She started laughing at what I said. I climbed into bed with my clothes on, and she crawled in next to me. Fang jumped onto the bed and slept at the far end of the mattress. This day was the craziest one I have seen so far. Got put in the hospital, almost lost Fang for good, got trapped in a storm, had found a shelter, but the owners got into a big fight, and now I am going to sleep in a bed with Lyra. Come to think of it, almost everything that happened after this morning had happened with Lyra at my side. I had gotten over my slight crush on Fluttershy. I guess I kind of like Lyra a little more than a friend.
She is an extremely good friend, but I just feel like we are a bit more than friends. I can't seem to figure out why.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
I woke up the next morning to the smell of coffee. I found Lyra fast asleep, with her arms around me. Her face was buried in my chest and tear stains were under her eyes. My chest felt wet, probably from the tear stains.
*Must of had bad dream* I thought to myself. I got up, breaking the embrace, and found Fang sleeping on the floor. I grabbed a tissue and dried my shirt before looking out the window. I couldn't believe my eyes. The whole town was flooded, about three feet deep. I headed for downstairs and found the door was closed shut, glued down with superglue and boards nailed into the walls and door. The windows, however, were completely fine. There was a small leak coming from the doors, but it only stretched out about one foot away from the door.
I looked inside the kitchen and found Vinyl sleeping on the countertop and Octavia half asleep laying her head down on the table. There were hot glue guns, hammers, boards, and a whole lot of nails sitting in the edge of the room. That explains the coffee. I turned back around to the front door when I heard something. It sounded like something was swimming. I headed for the windows, looking outside. I quickly noticed something, however. The water seemed to be disappearing. The flood was being, drained. I looked to the left side of the window, since it seemed like that was where the water was headed for. I ran upstairs and looked out the window at the end of the hall, since it was facing the same direction the water was headed for.
I saw some ponies, obviously unicorns since stuff was floating in the air, moving the water into a canyon of some sort. The water quickly disappeared into the crevice, and the town wasn't flooded anymore. The ground was still very muddy, however. At least the flood was gone. I went back to the room to go and get Fang. When I entered the room, I found Lyra had woken up and was laying on her back, hooves behind her head, and staring at the ceiling.
When she saw me, she sat upright and hopped off the bed. "Oh, hey."
It seemed like something was bothering her from they way she said it. "Anything wrong?"
She stared at me in confusion for a second. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, it's just from the way you said 'Oh, hey' and the fact that you cried in my chest last night."
She froze. "I-I......I cried in your chest last night?"
"Yup...What else wet would have gotten there while you had buried your face in my chest. There were tear stains under your eyes, so I would've imagined that you had a bad dream last night." I said with a slight smile.
Her cheeks started turning to a rosy red color.
"Hey, no need to be embarrassed."
She winced and her face was now a bright red. "I'm not embarrassed!"
"Then why are you sweating and your face turning red?"
She shook her head and yelled at me. "Knock it off!
I stopped teasing her and changed the subject. "Sorry. Still, is anything wrong?"
Lyra rubbed the back of her head. "Yeah...but can we talk about it somewhere private? It's kind of big. I mean REALLY big. Well maybe not that big but-"
"I get it, I get it. Let's hurry up and leave. I'm sure Bon Bon is wondering where you have been?"
Her eyes shot open as she gasped. "I FORGOT ALL ABOUT BON BON!!! C'MON, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?! LET'S GO!!!"
She levitated me, Fang, and my belt with katana and hurriedly ran out the door, carrying us along. Fang was still sleeping. And me? I was upside down during the whole run across Ponyville.
When we had gotten to her house, she kicked the door open and threw me and Fang on the couch. She just threw my katana blade and belt to the side.
She screamed at the top of her lungs.
"BONBONI'MHOMEWHEREAREYOUAREYOUALRIGHTWHATHAPPENEDWHILEIWASGONEINEEDYOURCOMPANYPLEASECOMEHERERIGHTNOW-Mmmmphmhphmmph."
Bon Bon had placed a hoof over Lyra's mouth before she could continue babbling on about who knows what. "Lyra...slow down. I can't understand a thing that you are saying! Now..I'm going to remove my hoof from your mouth and you are going to explain to me what had happened, calmly ."
Lyra slowly nodded her head. As the cream colored pony removed her hoof, Lyra took in a deep breath. "Okay, so since there was a huge storm I had to spend the night at a friends house but then there was an argument and the night became crazy but then everything calmed down and Roe got to learn about them a bit more and then when it was time to go to sleep I asked Roe if I could sleep with him because I can't go to sleep alone but when I went to sleep I had a bah, wheeze , I had a bad dream where you me Roe and Fang were in the Everfree forest and we got lost and were being stalked by Timberwolves the mutated ones and we had been attacked by them and got separated and I was chased into a dark scary cave and i saw the Timberwolves transform into scary demon-like monsters that attacked me and we all died and that is my dream that is the worst dream I have ever had and I think it might mean something scary is going to happen so from now on we should never ever EVER enter the Everfree forest agaiahhhhhn, huff, huff, huff, huff ."
She fell down onto her belly, trying to catch her breath. Bon Bon walked up to Lyra and helped lift her up. "I've got this. You can go home now or do whatever, I can handle her alone."
I hesitated. "A-are you sure you don't need any help? I could-"
"It's fine. I got this! You dont have to help. I'll tell you when she gets better, she just needs to cool off for a little bit."
She carried the mint green unicorn upstairs. I grabbed my katana and left, still confused on why I wanted to help. *She said she could do it alone, and I normally let others do things by themselves if they say that they don't need any help, but only if they really don't, so why did I want to help? Is it because I-......no....I couldn't......could I? Do I really like her? Now that I think about it....I kind of do. That explains why I felt like we were more than just friends last night. I really like her...........wait a minute.........I like Lyra? I've only known her for three days, and I truly like her? Fluttershy was just a childish crush, but I truly like Lyra.....*
I pondered over the thought for a few more moments. I actually, truly like Lyra Heartstrings. A mare that I had met only three days ago, I like. Not a childish crush or anything like that, this is real. How can I tell her how I feel. Would it seem strange? Would she be happy? Would she get freaked out? I started to worry about how I would be able to tell Lyra for a few more moments until I heard a familiar voice call out to me.
"Hey, Roe! Whatchya doin?" I looked to my right. Spike was calling for me.
I tried to ignore him and continue walking along. I reached Ponyville park and decided to just sit under a tree with Fang next to me. Thinking I had lost Spike so I could think for a while longer, I heard him right beside me.
"Hey, everything okay? It was like you ignored me back there, what gives? Roe? Everything alri-"
"I like Lyra." I cupped my hands over my mouth. I didn't want to tell anyone how I felt for the mare, yet here I was telling Spike. I thought he would laugh at me for liking a mare, because a human and a mare going out would seem very weird. But he didn't laugh, he didn't freak out. He just sat there, staring at me.
I put my hands down, my face turning very red. "I bet you're going to laugh at me for liking a mare, aren't you."
"No. I like a mare too. Rarity. But most would think a dragon and a mare going out would be just as weird as a human and mare. I understand."
My face returned to it's normal peach color. Spike liking Rarity is obviously just a crush he has on her, but I didn't say anything about it.
I looked around a bit, then looked back at Spike. "Don't. Tell. ANYONE ..."
He crossed his heart and said, "You have my word!"
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
Nightmares: The Aftermath
After Lyra had been set in her bed with an ice pack to cool her down, Bon Bon was getting ready to leave. She put on her saddlebags as she got ready to head out.
"I'll be back soon, I just have to go get something. Will you be alright here alone?"
Lyra could barely speak, but managed to get the right words through her mouth. "huff, huff, I'll be, huff , fine, huff, huff, huff ."
The earth pony smiled. "Take care. And please don't stress out like this again. I don't think I can carry you up into your room anymore, let alone just set you in your bed. See ya!"
Lyra smiled at her roommate. "huff, huff, Bye. huff, huff, huff ..."
Lyra just lay there for a while, looking up at the ceiling, thinking of what had happened both yesterday, and today. *Almost everything that had happened after this morning happened with Roe, and the more time I spent with him...the more I seemed to like him, as a friend. Then, why do I feel like we are more than just, friends? We are just friends, right? Actually, the more I think about it...I think I actually like him. Like, Like like him. How would I be able to tell him? Would he be okay with it, or would he...be, freaked out about it. I'm pretty sure the others, well of course not Bon Bon, would think it would be weird for a human and a mare to be 'Going out' together. But, I still like him. I need to tell Bon Bon when she gets home. But, how will I explain it? I can't just go up to her and go, 'Hey Bon Bon? You know that human, Roe? I Like like him!' that would be too weird and incredibly stupid by my standards. I need to bring it up, just not tell her instantly and humiliate myself.*
Lyra just laid down on the bed, thinking of a way to tell her roommate her feelings for Roe without embarrassing herself.
A few moments later, Bon Bon had walked in with something in her saddlebags. Lyra still was staring at the ceiling when she greeted her friend.
"Hey, Bon Bon?"
Her friend sat the saddlebags down next to the bed and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? What is it Lyra?"
"Would you think it would be weird, if a human and a mare were 'Going Out'?"
Bon Bon could kind of see where this was going, so she decided to play along for her friends sake. Even though it would be weird, she would be okay with Lyra being 'The Mare'. "No. Why?"
Lyra shrugged. "I don't know. It just came to my mind."
The earth pony got on top of the bed and laid down. "Let me guess. You Like like Roe."
Lyra's face turned redder than Big Macintosh. "How did you...?"
"It is kind of easy to understand where you are going when I know you so well. Also, if somepony asks about two ponies, or in this case, a human and a pony, 'Going Out', then it is easy to tell that you like him."
Lyra facehoofed. "I knew I should have just brought it up less quickly..."
Bon Bon smiled as she remembered what she had gotten for Lyra. Reaching for the saddlebags, Bon Bon pulled out a brown paper bag with a picture of a cupcake on it. "I went to Surgarcube Corner and got you some special cupcakes Pinkie Pie had made. She called them 'Pinkie Cakes'. They say that they tasted so good, the cupcakes were just flying off of the shelves! It took allot of bits to buy just six cupcakes! Six! It was three bits for two cupcakes, so I had to pay nine bits for these! Can you believe it?!"
As Bon Bon grabbed a plate from the nightstand and poured the six cupcakes, each with the same pink pattern that looked like Pinkie Pie's face, Lyra stopped staring at the ceiling long enough to look at the cupcakes. "They must be THAT good!" She said with a chuckle.
The two each grabbed a cupcake and took a small bite at the same time. As if on cue, the two mares devoured the sweets, each getting three baked goods.
The cakes had a delicious cream filling inside so tasty, almost nopony could describe it! The frosting was so indescribably sweet, almost everypony was craving more!
After they had finished, Lyra changed the subject to what she was talking about before. "So...how would I tell him how I feel? Do I have to just, give him a present or something?"
Bon Bon thought hard about what her friend would have to do. "I...really don't know. I guess a present would be a good start..."
The two talked about it for the rest of the evening, coming up with ideas on how Lyra can tell Roe how she feels.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
A Series Of Awkward Events
I had talked with Spike yesterday on how to tell Lyra that I like her, but it was mostly useless ways to impress her like, 'Get her everything she wants', or, 'Do everything she needs', and this one was the dumbest, 'Dress up really nice and she'll fall head over hooves for you!'. That last one wouldn't work on even the most sane mares around. And when I say 'sane', I mean that they like somebody for who they are, not just because of what they wear or what they have. That happened quite a bit back on Earth, and it seems that the ponies here are just the same, just without technology like computers or phones. I was a bit surprised that Vinyl had speakers and turntables, but that wasn't as advanced as a cellphone or a laptop.
I decided to just go to the top of the hill that overlooks the town of Ponyville. It was difficult trying the climb the hill, but right when I had made it to the top, I fell down on my back under the tree that was centered on the hill. Shifting myself into a more comfortable position, with my back against the tree overlooking Ponyville, I started thinking on how I could tell Lyra. I watched as the sun started to set beneath the mountains since it helped me think better. Just as thoughts were entering my mind, I heard a loud zapping noise from the other side of the tree, like a unicorn teleporting.
I quietly got up and peered around the tree so I could see him or her, but him or her couldn't see me. It was Lyra. I decided to play a little prank on her and, as quiet as I could, scaled up the trunk into the leaves. When I had made it onto a thick branch just above the mint green mare, I wrapped my legs around the branch and fell back.
I was hanging upside down in front of Lyra's face, smiling as she screamed. My prank ended as she punched me in the face with her hoof, causing me to fall down. I landed onto my back, which was still healing from a few days ago.
She gasped and put her hooves over her mouth. "I'm so sorry! Don't ever do that again!"
I sat up and put my hand over my forehead, right where her hoof had struck.
I removed my hand. "Does it look okay?"
She lowered her hooves and nodded her head. I got up and walked back over to the side of the tree I was originally sitting. I sat down at the base of the tree, staring over the mountains as the sun was still setting as I felt something brush up against my left arm. I looked over to my side and found Lyra had sat next to me.
Looking back over to the mountains, I managed to catch a glimpse of her cheeks turning red. *She might like me too if she is blushing,* I thought to myself. If she did like me, then she must not know that I like her. I'm not sure if she does like me too, but she might, from the looks of it.
This...is going to get very awkward...very fast.
I turned my head to look at her, and started to speak. "Lyra...there's something that I have to tell you..." So far, so good. "I...um...It's kind of hard to say..." And....I lost it.
She spoke up too, and had the same tone in her voice. "I...have to tell you something too......but I don't know how to explain it...hehe....."
She gave me an awkward smile as she laughed. we both tried speaking at the same time, but it didn't really go so well."
"I-I...um....."
"I...uh...."
"I...L-...Li-...um..."
"I....um......."
Then, tired of trying to say the right words, we both sighed and said it in unison. "I like you."
There was a long pause as Lyra's cheeks turned a deep red, and I started to get a bit sweaty. She scooted a bit closer to me, her cheeks turning a deeper shade of red. I put my arm around her shoulder.
I was the first to break the silence. "How will the others think? A human and a mare together might seem very weird, won't it?"
She looked at me, her cheeks easing up a bit. "Bon Bon said that she wouldn't mind, but she is the only pony I know that doesn't make fun of me for who I am or what I like, or in this case...who. I'm not sure about the others... They might start to get uncomfortable, maybe..."
Then, just as she started to lean her head on my chest, we heard a familiar voice.
"Lyra? Where are you? The Sun is going down, it's getting dark! Lyra?"
I climbed up the tree as Lyra got into a regular sitting position. I hid in the leaves so Bon Bon couldn't see me. I didn't want the situation to get anymore awkward than it was before. I listened closely as Lyra spoke with the earth pony.
"Bon Bon! Whatchya doin? It's getting late, shouldn't you be home?"
"That's exactly why I came here! It's dark, we have to go home."
"B-b-but I'm in the middle of something! Some VERY personal work of mine. I'll be back later tonight, just go home and start making dinner. I'll be home in time to eat, okay Bonnie?"
"You always call me 'Bonnie' when something is up. What is it Lyra? I want to know. Tell me, right now."
"W-well you see....uhm....."
CRACK!!! Oh no. I fell down from the tree next to Lyra's side, with a large branch rolling down the hillside.
Bon Bon looked at me, then at Lyra, then back at me. A devilish grin came to her face. "I see what's going on here..." She spoke with a devilish tone, completing the mood. "You told him, didn't you? Is that why you were trying to get out of coming home?"
I got up, wiping the dirt off of my white tee shirt as I started sweating. Lyra's cheeks were turning redder than before.
Bon Bon turned around. "Don't worry. You two lovebirds can continue on with whatever you were doing. Just come back before midnight, okay?"
Lyra slowly nodded, her cheeks returning to their original color. I, however was still sweating badly.
The cream colored mare trotted off down the hill, out of sight, before Lyra went back to where we were sitting.
She put her hooves over her face. "I cannot believe that just happened! I told her that I was going to tell you, but I didn't think she would follow!"
I walked to where she had left and looked down the hill. Nothing but a small boulder and some bushes.
I looked back over to Lyra. "It's okay, she left!" I said as I walked over to her.
She lowered her hooves as I sat down next to her. I wrapped my arm around her again, and she laid her head down back onto my chest. I started stroking her mane as something amazing happened. In the sky, ahead of us, a large explosion of rainbow colored swirls and strands appeared, followed by a rainbow colored streak fall to the ground.
I watched in amazement as Lyra said something. "Looks like Rainbowdash is doing a "Sonic Rainboom' again. Probably the work of Bon Bon."
She burst into laughter after she made that remark. I chuckled a bit too.
I said something that made Lyra stop laughing. "I wonder how many ponies she has already told."
"If she did that, I'd probably beat her up. Probably." She spoke in a way that almost sounded like she actually would.
I looked at her with a raised brow. She started laughing as she sat up. "You actually think that I would do that?" She spoke in between laughs.
"Well, it's just from the way you said it. You sounded like you really would."
Lyra lightly punched me in the shoulder. "Knock it off!"
I stared deeply into those amber eyes, and they stared right back. We both slowly leaned closer to each other. Closer. Closer.
We were so close, but were stopped when we heard a loud rustle from a bush behind us. Lyra got up and moved towards the bush. I followed after her. Lyra's horn glowed it's amber color and lifted the bush. There, Bon Bon was crouched up in a ball, eyes shut tight, thinking that she was hidden.
Lyra's face grew a deep red as she yelled, "BON BON?! WHAT THE HAY?! I THOUGHT YOU WENT HOME!!!"
The earth ponies eyes opened as she got up. "Oh..I was just....uh......checking up on you?" She smiled innocently, but sweat was pouring down her face.
Lyra threw the bush far away, and stared at Bon Bon with immense anger. "Where you spying on us?! Is that what you meant when you said that you were just checking up on me?! How long have you been there?! Don't you know the anything about the term, 'privacy'?!"
I was getting pretty mad too. The mare was spying on us! Who does that?!
Bon Bon curled up into a ball, whimpering and sweating badly now as Lyra's eyes seemed to be on fire, and her horn started glowing brightly.
Even though I was mad, I wasn't mad enough to do what I think Lyra was going to do, so I did the first thing I thought of. I pushed Lyra down, causing her horn to stop glowing, and held her down to calm her. She thrashed about like mad, but I managed to hold her down long enough for her to tire out.
When she seemed calm enough, I let go of her and she got up. She stomped her way down the hill, not even taking a second look at Bon Bon.
I walked over to the cream colored mare. Helping her up, I asked why she was spying on us.
"It's because she usually is made fun of for being different since she doesn't usually put her special talent to it's fullest, but instead is studying strange and mythical things, trying to prove new theories but ending up getting laughed at, and I just wanted to make sure that that didn't happen again. I'm so sorry. I should have just left you two alone!" She walked over to the tree and started beating her head on it. "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stup-argh!" She rubbed her forehead with her hoof.
She started heading the same way that Lyra went, but stopped before she had went past me. "I am so sorry for spying. I'd better check up on Lyra right now, see if I can make her feel better. Still friends?" She held out her hoof.
I smiled and shook it. "Friends. But don't spy on us again, okay?"
She nodded her head before heading down the path down the hill. She stopped and waved at me. I waved back and walked over to the tree.
Knowing that by the time I reach my home it would be past midnight, I decided it would be best to just spend the night here, under this tree.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
I woke up the next morning in my room, lying in my bed. I sat up and looked around. Fang was on the floor, awake. When he saw me, he jumped onto the bed and started nudging me and pushing me out of the blankets. I eventually gave in and hopped out of bed. I walked downstairs. Everything seemed normal, so how did I end up in my house when I remember going to sleep under a tree?
I walked over to my DIY cooler and opened it up. Taking out an apple, I hungrily bit my fangs into it. Just then, I realized something about my fangs. They seemed to grow a tiny bit longer then I last remembered. It wasn't a huge difference, but I still noticed it. I didn't think of it too much and continued eating the whole thing, core and all. I found that the seeds are edible and that there isn't really a core, so I just ate the whole thing since then.
I walked over to the couch and sat down on it. I checked the time. Nine thirty. Pretty soon, I started thinking about last night. We almost kissed. Almost.
Just then, I got an interesting idea. I thought about taking her out to dinner, try to make up for last night. Since they don't have phones here, I wrote a letter and put it the mail. I made sure to write on the envelope it was put in, 'For Lyra Heartstrings eyes only! DO NOT OPEN THIS LETTER BON BON!!!', so that Bon Bon didn't get any funny ideas about spying on us again.
I told her to meet me at six at a restaurant called 'Greens & Goods', which was perfect. It wasn't too fancy, nor too messy. It also wasn't too expensive, so I could easily buy us something with my money. I still had about 99,000 bits left in that huge sack, and the pile barely went down more than two inches!
This seemed like a good plan to me. Make up for a ruined moment together by taking her out to dinner. I guess you could call it a date, but it was more intended to make up for last night.
Finishing my apple, I slept on the couch, setting an alarm clock nearby for five.
7 HOURS & 30 MINUTES LATER
I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing. Turning it off, I walked back up to my room. I saw Fang was eating from the special 'Food Dispenser' that I had made for him. It was a simple machine. Fang pulls on a rope, and the bag of food starts pouring into a bowl on the floor, tilting on a special stand so the food comes out. Then, when it is full, he will let go of the rope, and the bag will be set back up into it's original position, suspended midair on a special stand built into the contraption.
I took off my white tee shirt and put in a hamper full of dirty clothes. Putting on a new pair of pants, I searched the room for another shirt. I couldn't seem to find one. I looked in the bathroom. Luckily, I found a nice white tee shirt (those white tee shirts made up most of my wardrobe, but I did have other clothing). I walked back downstairs and put on my belt with katana. I slipped on my brown leather coat to conceal the weapon.
Heading to the restaurant to wait for Lyra, I instead found Bon Bon, wearing her saddlebags, just outside the entrance. I walked up to her and asked why she was here.
Bon Bon reached into one of her saddlebags and took out the letter for Lyra, and handed it to me. "Before you say anything, I need to tell you something......Lyra............Lyra's gone..."
She reached into her saddlebags again and pulled something out. She handed handed me a note reading,
If you are wondering where I am right now, I went to Manehattan to calm down. I will be back someday soon.
Lyra Heartstrings
I looked back up at Bon Bon. "How much do trains to Manehattan cost?
30 MINUTES LATER
Me and Bon Bon were at the train station, ready to get on the train to the big city.
I looked at Bon Bon as the train started coming. "So, how long is the train ride to Manehattan?"
She thought for a moment. "I don't know. An hour, two maybe? All that I know is that it usually is a long trip. I've only gone there twice, and both were to meet an old friend of mine. And both of those times were also a long time ago, so I'm guessing at least an hour."
I wasn't very happy about that, but we had to find Lyra. I still had a large pouch of about one thousand bits in it, so I'm sure that money won't be too much of a problem. I made sure to leave a note on my front door in case anyone came to visit reading, 'Went to Manehattan. Be back someday this week. Roe.'
The train had arrived, and so many ponies came off that I almost had lost track of Bon Bon. We managed to get on the train, luckily, and sat down somewhere in an empty train car in the middle. Within a few moments the train had taken off, and we were on our way to Manehattan to find Lyra, get her and Bon Bon to be friends again, go home, and take Lyra out for some dinner.
The train ride was going to be long, so I decided to take a little nap to kill some time. Bon Bon, however, wouldn't let me.
"We have to be fully awake when the train stops so we can find Lyra as soon a possible."
"Ugh....fine. So, who was this 'Old Friend' of yours that you had visited there?"
She seemed pleased to have a story that would kill some time, since we both new that this was going to be a long trip. "Well, I had this friend, Amethyst Star, that used to live in Ponyville. She was best friends with me and Lyra, before you had arrived. But, everyday, she acted more and more like something was bothering her. When we asked her what was wrong, she didn't know how to tell us. We kept asking, especially Lyra, who can let curiosity get the best of her allot of the time, but out of nowhere, Amethyst just lashed out in anger."
"C'mon Amethyst, tell us!!!!! I wanna know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Hey, Amethyst, you can tell us anything, and we won't mind. Just please tell us, because I too am starting to get tired of Lyra's constant whining."
"I'm not whining! I'm just really curious!!!"
"Yeah right. I'm not telling you. It's kind of...........................It's.......I.....I can't explain it really..............I'm just not telling you. Even though you two are my best friends, and best friends usually don't keep secrets from each other, I can't tell you."
Lyra continued. "Come on Amethyst!!! Just tell us!!!!! Please? I promise I won't tell anypony else about it! Just please, please, PLEASE tell us!!!!!"
"Amethyst growled. "NO!!! I'm not telling you!!! And I will not ever tell you, so just stop asking before I get angry!!!!!"
Bon Bon raised an eyebrow. "But, you already are angry."
The pink mare rolled her eyes in frustration. "ANGRIER!!!!"
Bon Bon continued on with her talk about her ex friend. "And with that, she stomped out of the house and slammed the door so hard, one of the hinges had broken off. I guess it was really personal. She had moved to Manehattan for some closure, since she was born there and used to live there before she had moved to Ponyville to go to the same school that me and Lyra went to as fillies. I had visited her a few times, Lyra about four, and we made up. We don't get along as well, but we are at least good friends. None of us had ever brought it up since. If Lyra is anywhere, I guess she might be somewhere with Amethyst."
She looked up at me, and laughed as she saw my expression to how engrossed in her story I was.
Closing my jaw, I asked a stupid question that would have received a hoof to the stomach. "So, what was it that was bothering her?" I asked with a slight chuckle.
She glared at me, forcing me to stop joking about it.
The train had slowed down by allot, and when we looked outside, we could see ponies everywhere and tall buildings as far as the eye could see. We got off of the train, but pretty soon, I heard somebody yell, 'Is that the human?!'
I looked to my right and found a huge group of ponies rushing towards me with things like cameras, mics, notepads, you name it.
Me and Bon Bon ran to the left of the train, entering the city. Everywhere, more and more ponies were chasing me down to get their autographs or have some sort of interview with me, so we ended up running all over the place.
As we ran down into an alleyway and hid behind some dumpsters, I mumbled to myself, "I hate paparazzi."
I was glad when we had lost them, but now going into the city wasn't such a good idea now that I think about it. I peered out of the alleyway and looked around at some of the billboards. My face was on almost all of them. I had become a celebrity in this place.
"That explains allot." I looked down to my right and remembered that Bon Bon was with me. We quietly walked down some more empty streets, looking around for Lyra and even calling out her name once or twice on each street.
I looked down at Bon Bon. "Do you know where Amethyst's house is? Lyra could be there."
She thought for a moment. "No...I can't seem to remember."
We kept walking, thinking of ideas on where that mint green unicorn might be, until I, not paying any attention to anything else, accidentally walked into something and fell over. When I got up, I found a clothes rack on it's side with dresses here and there.
I heard a familiar voice coming from inside the building next to it. "Oh no! My dresses! What happened?!"
I saw a snow white unicorn with a purple, fancy looking mane rush out of the building and lift up the clothes rack and dresses, fixing them and setting them back down.
I responded with the only thing somebody would do when they see somebody they haven't seen in quite a while. "Rarity? What are you- never mind, do you know Lyra Heartstrings?"
"Oh, hello Roe. Oh, and yes I do know her, why do you ask?"
"Have you seen her anywhere here today or yesterday?"
"Hmm..........no, I haven't. Is that why you're visiting Manehattan?"
Bon Bon joined in. "Yeah, she left a note saying that she came here after we had fought, but we can't seem to find her anywhere here."
"Have you checked Amethyst Star's apartment?"
"You know where it is? Bon Bon here seems to have forgotten."
"Of course I do. Bon Bon, do you remember where the opera house is?"
"Yeah? Why?"
"Amethyst lives in a big apartment building on the same street as the opera house. It is the only apartment building there, so finding it should be easy. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get going. These dresses aren't going to remodel themselves. Bye Bye!"
We watched as Rarity had left galloping down the street that we had come from.
I followed Bon Bon as she scanned every building in sight, then went down a street and stopped at an intersection to scan more buildings.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
We searched through the city for about half an hour or so, or at least Bon Bon searched while I followed close behind. It was getting pretty dark out, and from what I have heard, it's not best to be out in the city when it's dark.
"Hey, Bon Bon? It's getting pretty late, we should continue tomorrow morning. Let's see if we can find a hotel nearby, b'cuz I'm getting pretty tired."
She looked down at the concrete sidewalk. "Yeah, I guess you're right........but one problem........I don't have any money..."
I held up my pouch of one thousand bits.
She stared at me dumbfounded. "Oh..........right............forgot about that.............so...let's go find a hotel!"
We searched for a hotel for about another half hour, but to no avail. We ended up getting lost, and I found some writing and graffiti in alleys that gave me the feeling that we weren't in such a good place to get lost when it's late. I looked down at my watch. Ten thirty seven. All that we had found were restaurants, business buildings, an apartment building, and some sort of theater looking building. When we had walked past it, Bon Bon froze in her tracks.
I stared at her for a while, and she looked back at the building. She gasped. Looking up at the building, I saw what she was looking at. It was the opera house. We ran to the apartment building and burst inside.
"Bon Bon, do you even remember where Amethysts room is?"
She nodded and ran up a flight of stairs. I followed after. We ran up three more stories up until she galloped down a hallway on the fifth floor. She stopped at a room somewhere in the middle, and I had managed to catch up to her just before she knocked.
The door had swung open, and a pink unicorn stood there, staring at me and Bon Bon.
She stammered a bit, but closed the door when we had heard a familiar someone calling out. "Amethyst? Who's at the door?"
She yelled back, but it was muffled out since the door was closed. The unicorn then came back out and shut the door behind her.
Before any of us could say a word, she collapsed at Bon Bon's feet. "Please get her out of here! She has been driving me crazy! All she wants to do is just talk about her past, and it's boring! Please get her out!"
Bon Bon raised an eyebrow. "Who is 'she', exactly?"
"Lyra! All she wants to do is talk about her past, and that is all she has done! I mean, I know that we are friends, but it's driving me insane! She kept me up all night long talking about her ancestors and how they were the first of her family to start hunting for the paranormal and legendary beings, and I couldn't sleep at all! I have been nice and let her speak, but I just can't handle it anymore! You have to help me!"
Me and Bon Bon both exchanged looks. I looked at the unicorn that was still on the floor crying and babbling on about how Lyra kept talking about her past. "Fine...we'll help you."
She got up and shook my hand violently yelling, "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!"
She headed towards the door and slowly opened it just enough for her to walk inside. I followed in after and found Lyra standing at the other side of the room. She stared at me with her amber eyes, and I stared back.
Lyra ran towards me and jumped onto me, crying and hugging me so tight, I could barely breath. "ROE I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU CAME I MISSED YOU SO MUCH I TRIED COMING HERE TO FIND SOME CLOSURE BY TALKING ABOUT MY PAST BUT IT ISN'T WORKING!!!"
She sobbed hard into my shirt and loosened her grip just a little bit so I could breath, but didn't show any signs of stopping. I managed to pry her off and get back up. After I stood up, she continued hugging me around my waist, still crying about how she missed me. She missed me so much she was crying, and it has only been about a two days. This shows that she actually does like me, and that this is real, not a stupid crush.
Lyra opened her eyes and saw Bon Bon. She stopped crying as Bon Bon waved at her friend awkwardly. Lyra let go of me and looked at me in the eyes.
"What is 'SHE' doing here?"
"We both came here to find you, and I knew that there was no stopping Bon Bon from coming along anyways."
Bon Bon hesitated. "Should I come inside, or..."
Lyra cut her off. "You should just go. Just go back to Ponyville, and stay there."
"Lyra? What is your problem?" I couldn't believe that she was saying this stuff to her friend.
"The problem is that she spied on us and completely ruined our moment!"
"I only spied on you to make sure that your 'moment' didn't turn out bad! I was just making sure that you would be completely happy and didn't get made fun of since everypony does that! I was only wanting your 'moment' to turn out good and was just trying to see if it did! If I knew that it would've gone fine and that you two were going to kiss, then I wouldn't have spied on you, but I didn't know any of that, so I just wanted to make sure everything went fine!"
The pink unicorn spoke. "Wait, you two were about to kiss?"
"Stay out of this Amethyst! This is between me and Bon Bon. Bon Bon, lets go outside for a moment. Roe, don't follow. Okay?"
I nodded and watched as they walked out of the apartment to talk.
Amethyst walked up to me and started asking questions. "You are with Lyra? Won't other ponies be a little bit weirded out by that?"
I sat down on the couch. "Probably, but if we want to be together, then who's stopping us?"
She thought about that for a few seconds. "Good point. This is actually the first time I have seen them fight in a long time. Last time they fought was when Twilight Sparkle cast this spell that made everypony in Ponyville become obsessed over some stupid doll and even injure each other over it. Don't ask me why she did it, because I still don't know the answer to that."
I chuckled a bit. "So, why did you move here?"
"Well, I-"
Her voice was cut off from the sound of banging coming from outside the door, followed by some screaming. The door swung open, and three unicorn stallions rushed in, horns lit, and blasted a beam of magic at Amethyst. She fell down onto the floor, unconscious. I reached for my Katana blade, but not before the same spell was blasted at me. Everything went black.
My eyes slowly opened. I was sitting in the corner of some kind of large shed, or a warehouse. I tried to get up, but I quickly found that my legs and hands were tied together with ropes, with my hands behind my back. I looked around, now fully awake. I saw Lyra and Amethyst both tied together with ropes, their backs against each other and some sort of ring around their horns.
I looked around for Bon Bon, but she was nowhere to be found. Scanning the surrounding area, I realized that we weren't in Manehattan any more. We were far away from Manehattan.
Two large doors facing us swung open, and we found the three unicorn stallions from before. A rusty red unicorn with a light brown mane, A navy blue unicorn with a turquoise mane, and a snow white unicorn with a light greyish mane.
The area behind them just led to another room. Their horns lit up as they threw Bon Bon, also tied up with ropes, into the room next to Lyra and Amethyst. They turned around and the doors slammed shut.
I started to shuffle around, managing to get my hands to slide under my legs. Bringing my legs in, I finally got my hands in front of me. I bit onto the ropes with my fangs, and cut them free quickly. I untied my legs and got up, but ended up almost falling down. My legs were numb. So numb, I could barely walk.
I stumbled around for a bit before I could feel my legs again.
I walked over to the three mares and untied them.
Bon Bon tried to pull one of the rings off of Lyra's horn, but the weird ring seemed to be glued on.
"It's no use Bon Bon. Almost nothing can remove these!"
I walked up to her and looked at the ring. "What's with this thing? Is it enchanted, or..."
"it's a Dispersion Ring. Almost nothing can take these rings off. They stop unicorn magic from coming out of our horn because it has some type of magic proof metal, and possibly an anti-magic spell. Nothing can take these off except the pony who put it on us, or if we somehow break the anti-magic spell, but there might be some other way that we don't know. Until we get these off, neither me or Lyra can use our magic, and no other magical item other than whoever put it on can take it off." Amethyst explained.
I sighed in frustration. "Guess magic's out of the question. Hey, Bon Bon, what were they doing while you were in there?"
"They were trying to get me to talk about us having some magical weapon, but I just kept telling them that I didn't know anything they were talking about! They threatened to kill us, but I kept telling them that I had no idea what was going on and how we were just normal as everypony, with the exception of you saving Equestria, but they still didn't believe me! I don't know who they are, or what they want, but I just want to get out of here, like Now!!!"
We all froze when we heard a voice yell from the other side of the door. "What's all the commotion about?"
Before we could react, the doors swung open, and the rusty red unicorn was yelling, "They're free! How?!"
I smirked as I walked up to him. "Ever heard of fangs?" I smiled wide as I showed him my two pointy teeth that stood out from the rest.
Before he could even move a muscle, I punched the unicorn in the face hard. Running into the larger room, I frantically scanned the room, as the two other unicorns came charging at me. At last, I had found it. Sprinting to the left side of the room, occasionally dodging some magical lazers, I yanked my katana from it's sheath and entered a ready position.
The navy blue unicorn charged me while the snow white one stayed behind. I waited for him to enter a suitable rang for my attack strategy. When he was close enough, I spun around him, held him down by the shoulder with my left hand, and pointed the katana's tip to the back of his head.
Just then, I saw his horn lighting up. I reacted at extreme speed, and cut a small chunk, about a centimeter and a half, of the end off. His horn quickly stopped glowing, but instead sparked a couple times. He tried to charge up magical energy again multiple times, but they all rendered useless.
I looked back at the other unicorn. "If you even so much as try to hurt them, I will kill him. Take the Dispenser Rings off, and I won't kill him."
Amethyst yelled from across the room. "It's called a Dispersion Ring!"
I sighed. "I meant Dispersion Rings. Take them off of my friends, or your going to regret it."
He snickered. "I don't care for him. All we want is your powerful magic weapon that we sensed."
I don't know what or how it happened, but I was enveloped in a white glow, and at speeds unlikely for a person my age, I ran up to him almost instantly and held the katana to his neck.
I chuckled. "I am the weapon."
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
"Now, if you don't want to get severely injured, then you will take those Dispersion Rings off of my friends."
I heard the sound of clopping, getting louder as if a unicorn was getting closer to me. Almost instantly, I held out my fist behind me, and felt fur, bone, and teeth slam into it.
The snow white unicorn nodded as his horn lit up. I looked over to Amethyst and Lyra as the rings lifted up and were thrown to the side.
I looked back at the unicorn, still smiling. "Good."
I lowered my katana and punched him in the gut, causing him to fall to the ground. Walking over to grab my belt and put it on, I looked around to find an exit. Bingo. After I put my katana back into it's sheath and opened a door on the right side of the room. A large forest.
"Great. Just great. We're in a forest. Don't know which one, probably the Everfree, but we are lost. Fantastic."
I walked outside and headed over to a tree. I started punching it like mad, yelling in frustration after each strike, my white glow fading away.
"ARE. YOU. FREAKING. KIDDING. ME."
I stopped as Lyra walked up to me. "Are you okay? You just punched a tree with you bare hands."
I looked at my knuckles. They were fine. "Yeah. Nothing's wrong with my fists, surprisingly. Must have something to do with my abilities."
An idea came to my mind. "Hey, can any of you teleport?"
Amethyst shook her head, but Lyra spoke. "I can, it's just that whenever I teleport with multiple bodies, it usually ends with a large explosion and fire everywhere."
We walked for a couple hours. The farther we went, the denser the forest seemed to get. The sun was starting to set when we had found a cave. There were a few berry bushes around, but not enough for all of us to eat for a few days.
I just sat on a cliff above the mountain, watching the sun set while the others were getting ready for when night comes. Pretty soon, I started thinking, *Why is it that I'm always being followed by trouble? What happened to The Elements Of Harmony? Shouldn't trouble come their way? Also, why is it that I am the only person here? Am I even a true person? I mean, I'm in a world of talking ponies, and I have magical powers, something I know a living human being wouldn't ever have. What's my purpose in this world? What role do I play here? I saved Equestria twice, so shouldn't I be done? I just don't get it...*
"Hey Roe!"
I snapped back into reality. "Whu....oh......hey Lyra. Whattsup?"
"Oh, nothing." She sat down next to me. "What're you doing?"
"Just thinking about why it is that I'm the only person here, and why trouble always comes my way. Why?"
She shrugged. "Nothing. Got bored. Maybe one reason you're the only person here is so that you and me can be together?" She giggled.
I laughed. "Yeah, maybe. But still. Why?"
"I dunno. Hey, don't stress too much about it. Just be glad that we're all safe, and hope that we find our way out of this forest, okay?"
I sighed. "Fine."
"Good. Now c'mon. We're setting up a camp fire, and we need help finding branches that aren't the size of pencils."
I got up and climbed down the cliff. I had found a whole load of branches big enough for a couple fires behind the cave. I hauled the branches up and turned around towards the cave. I took a step. The ground collapsed in on itself, right under me. I was falling down a tunnel.
Falling. Falling. Falling some more. Still falling. I started to get tired of falling until I landed in a pool.
Breaching the surface, I looked around where I was. A large cave with three tunnels and familiar looking green glowing crystals. I knew what that meant.
"You....have got to be.......fucking kidding me!" I yelled out.
I heard three familiar screams coming from one of the tunnels. I listened closely, trying to figure out which tunnel to enter. The middle one. I walked down the tunnel, very annoyed by this.
Bug like pony creatures, obviously changelings, darted at me, only to be sliced, diced, or decapitated by my blade. Each kill was made without even a flinch. I just stared ahead as I went to finally kill this nuisance.
I reached the end of the tunnel, and found the culprit who had the three mares glued to the side of a wall. Queen Chrysalis.
"Why won't you just stay dead?!" I yelled as I threw a large rock at her, my body glowing bright white.
She laughed evilly. "I was just about to say the same. How have you been? I see that you have somepony special. Somepony that you love."
I smirked. "Yeah." Within an instant, I was in front of her. "And I have new strengths to make sure you stay dead."
I swung the blade, but just barely missed, only cutting her left cheek. She growled as her horn lit up. A blast of magic shot out at me, too quick to dodge, striking my chest.
My body lit up with a bright light, brighter than ever before. It was especially bright around my chest, which was bare from the shirt being burnt off. I was now engulfed in a bright explosion.
When it disappeared, I couldn't do anything. I couldn't control anything. My body was now glowing black, with a red outline.
My voice changed from it's usual to a demonic tone. "The power. Oooh, The power! It feels great! I HAVE SO MUCH POWER!!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!"
I lunged for the changeling queen, and started jamming the katana into her chest many times. I wanted to stop. I needed to stop. I just couldn't. Something had taken control of me. All that I could do was watch in horror, as I started to slice her throat.
Pretty soon, the black and red glow disappeared, and I felt drained. There was green changeling blood on my hands. I just sat there, taking in all that had happened. Her body was nothing but blood and bits.
I looked at the three mares. They were covered in the green blood. They all just stared at me. I know that Lyra probably is too scared to be with me anymore.
I burst into tears. "Wh-what have I done?! I'm sorry! I c-couldn't control it! I-I..." I couldn't go on anymore.
When I had calmed down to the point where I could open my eyes again, I asked them, "Please, forgive me. I ha-have no Idea what had happened. I-I couldn't control it..."
Amethyst wasn't afraid anymore. "It was dark magic. She must of accidentally let in an opening for dark magic to take control when you were glowing with magical power."
"Is it still inside of me?"
She nodded.
"Is there anyway I can get rid of it?! Anyway at all?! Please tell me there is a way!"
"There is a way, but the only unicorn I know that could probably do it is Twilight Sparkle."
I freed them of their green sticky prisons and we got out of the cavern.
Lost: More Than Just A Friend...
we walked for a few more hours until I found a familiar sight. An exit. We ran out as fast as we could, and found ourselves behind my house.
Fang ran towards us quickly. I was happy to see him again, but what I didn't know was that he was running away from something. A hole horde of tiny multicolored insect like creatures, too small to be changelings, were chasing him. Lyra created a bubble shield and used her magic to bring Fang in quickly.
The small bugs slammed into the bubble shield and swarmed all around us.
I was filled with shock, confusion, and fear. "What are these things?!"
"They're parasprites! They attacked ponyvile about a few years ago, eating food and buildings and everything, but I've never seen them attack living things before!" Explained Bon Bon.
We all ran inside my house, which Lyra was protecting with a bubble shield, and tried waiting out the horde. Three hours later, nothing. Another hour later, still nothing. They just didn't let up and kept banging onto the bubble shield. Some of the parasprites even passed out from banging into the barrier for so long.
I was getting tired of waiting and just wanted to get this dark magic out of me. "Amethyst, do you think that you could create a bubble shield as big as Lyra's?"
"Of course I can, I just can't teleport. Same thing happens to me when Lyra teleports with multiple bodies. Why?"
"Lyra, go teleport to Twilight's home, since that is most likely where she'll be, and get her to come here."
Lyra did as told, and Amethyst took her place holding up the bubble shield.
Lyra came back quickly with Twilight. Lyra had already explained everything to Twilight before she came.
"Alright, this might hurt a bit. You ready Roe?"
"Yup. Will this take long?"
"Most likely, since dark magic does have the chance to stay inside your body if we just do it the quick way."
Her horn lit up, and streams of lavender magic flew around me and swirled in circles around my body. My body emitted a faint white glow as my body seemed to absorb the magical strands. Pretty soon, the white glow turned black with a red outline, and My eyes and mouth were glowing a bright white.
I heard a loud whistling noise that seemed to get higher and higher, until a long beam of energy was shot at me while strands of magical energy continued to seep into my body. I screamed in agony as dark blood red and black strands of magical energy flew off of my body and vanished into thin air. My eyes and mouth were now shining with a bright white light as the beam of energy seemed to strengthen.
The whole process continued for about nine minutes, and my entire body was now filled with excruciating pain and my screams increased.
Right when the spell had ended, I blacked out.
I woke up in my bed. I couldn't move. I didn't see Fang. Trying to get up, I found my limbs were asleep when I only managed to move my shoulders. That explains one problem. I shuffled around for a minute, trying to get the blood in my limbs going again so I could move.
Getting up, limbs fully awake, I walked downstairs. I looked at the clock. Nine forty three.
"Fang! Fang? Hey, Fang?" I called out. No answer.
"What's going on?" I whispered to myself.
I opened the door to the outside. Right when I took a step onto the grass, my whole world changed. The green grass and blue sky turned into a barren land with bones and blood around the place with a blood red sky. There was fire scattered out across the land. I ran towards Ponyville.
Oh god. The whole place was on fire. Lifeless bodies of torn up ponies lay across the streets. I ran throughout the town, desperately looking for Lyra.
I found her home was still fine. I walked up to the door. Slowly, I creaked open the door. I froze.
Lyra's body lay on the floor, with several scratch marks all over her body. Her horn was severely damaged to the point where it couldn't heal at all.
I knelt down next to her body, tears pouring down from my eyes.
"Lyra............Lyra.............."
My emotions switched from shock, horror, and deep depression to anger and the need to seek vengeance on who it was that had done this.
Rage built up. I couldn't hold anymore of it in. I had to kill whoever had done this.
Just then, the world went black. I could still see, but everything around me was black, almost cosmic looking.
A low growl filled the air.
I yelled out. "Who's there? What's happening?!"
It responded with a deep voice that had a small growl to it. "You'll find out soon enough.....peasant....."
Before I could respond, the area around me shook violently.
I woke up with a gasp.
