Chapters "All right class, settle down." said the teacher of Ponyville Elementary school, Ms.Cheerilee. It was a bright and beautiful Monday but to the colts and fillies, it was just a Monday and they were all tired. The group called the CMC which consists of Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo sat down in there desks that were next to each other just coming from a argument with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who were always picking on them for not having cutie marks.
Once all the children sat down the Ms.Cheerilee continued. " I have some very great news for all of you. There will be a new student joining our class today. I would like you all to give a very warm welcome to Night." After saying that a unicorn colt came in the classroom. He had a dark grey coat, a blue mane, green eyes, and was wearing a black hoodie. He seemed to have a very un amused look at his face with a I don't care attitude considering he was reading a book he was lifting up with his magic that had a green aura. "Okay Night, there's an empty seat in the right side of the classroom I put just for you." Cheerilee said. With that Night sat down at the empty desk, and the learning began.
Recess began and all the students ran out to the playground. "So what do y'all want to do." Applebloom said to her friends.
"Lets go jump rope, we haven't done that in a while." said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah that sounds nice." said Scootaloo.
When they were going to a pile of jumpropes they noticed Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were heading towards Night with smirks on there faces. "Uh oh, Night has no cutie mark, their probably going to pick on him." said Scootaloo.
"Come on girls we should help him." said Sweetie Belle. When they caught up to the bullies they already just started talking to Night.
" Hello blank flank," said Diamond " why are reading during recess are you a blank flank and an egghead too, that's so sad." The to two bullies giggled and just when the CMC were about to stand up for him Diamonds tiara was lifted off her head by Night's magic and burst into flames. " What did you do to my tiara?" she yelled.
Night then looked up from his book and gave her an annoyed look on his face. " I made it into garbage so it could fit you because that's what you are, garbage. Now unless you want it to happen to your mane, I suggest you and your friend leave me alone, you spoiled one-dimensional brats." After he said that in a menacing tone the bullies ran away crying that they were going to tell Cheerilee.
The CMC were awestruck to say the least. Never have they saw someone scare those two so much or even threaten to hurt them. Finally Applebloom spoke up." Um you know your getting in trouble for that right. Threatening to light some pony's mane on fire isn't really aloud here."
"No one's going to get in trouble if there's no evidence." he said. The CMC were confused at this until the dreadfully burnt tiara was buried in the ground with Night's magic.
five seconds after the bullies came back with cheerily who had a disapproving look on her face. " Night, did you destroy Diamond Tiara's.... tiara and threaten to light her mane on fire?"
" Your in trouble now new kid, and don't bother lying because my tiara is all the proof we.... wait where is it?" They all looked and there wasn't a burnt tiara anywhere.
" She's lying Ms. Cheerilee. She threw her tiara into the trash can over there and said all of that just to get me in trouble go check for yourself. With that Cheerilee went to the trash can and came back with her tiara that looked like nothing had happened to it.
" Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, I want you two to come with me in the classroom now, and don't think your parents won't be hearing about this.
After Cheerilee and two dumfounded fillies went into the school. Sweetie spoke up. " How the hay did you do that. First you light a tiara on fire, then you have it get sucked into the ground, and last but not least you had appear in the trash can. I'm the same age as you and I just finished learning how to levitate."
She was interrupted by the school bell that rung letting them all know it was time to go back to class. " Let's just say I'm really good at magic." Night said as he walked back inside reading his book.
"He's hiding something and I know it. Do you think that hoodie is like the alicorn amulet Trixie used a while a go." Scootaloo said.
" Ah don't know Scootaloo," said Applebloom." let's go ask Twilight at the castle after school."
"Don't forget to finish your poems for homework. Your all dismissed. " All the foals ran out the doors to go home. With the exemption of the CMC who were going to Twilight's castle and Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who were staying after for their first day of their two week detetention.
When they entered the castle they were greeted by the alicorn twilight. "Hello girls. How may I help you she asked.
They explained to her about Night and she was very skeptical. " I don't know girls, what your telling me about this colt doesn't seem right. And I have read everything that involves increasing magic power and there are no such things as hoodies that do such a thing." She stopped for a moment and started thinking. " Although I may have a talk with him. Do you girls know were Night lives?"
"I DO!"yelled Pinkie Pie who came out of thin air. "I'm throwing him and his aunt a welcome to Ponyville party tonight and you are all invited. His address are in these invitations. Starts at 5, don't be late." She disappeared into thin air.
"Well that answers my question." She then looked at the clock. "Well it starts in ten minutes. so we should probably go now. Come on spike."
They reached the house which was near the edge of town and saw there were party balloons and streamers everywhere. They went inside and saw that the house looked like any other normal house except for the party stuff.
Twilight and the CMC saw the colt in question drinking the punch not looking like he's enjoying the party at all. "Hello, are you Night?"she said. When Night looked at her his eyes went wide with fear. Twilight noticed and asked."Don't worry, just because i'm a princess doesn't mean you're in trouble. Now I just would like to ask a few questions."
"Hello, you must be Princess Twilight Sparkle. "Said a voice. They looked and saw a red mare with a blue mane and green eyes and had a cutie mark with a plate and food on it. "My names Sky, Knight's aunt. I just got a job at the café near here.
"Hello nice to meet you, you can just call me Twilight by the way. I have a question to ask you and your nephew. These girls say they saw him use some pretty advanced magic for his age at school today. Is it true he can do it?"
" Oh yes, he has always been good at magic since he was a foal. I'm surprised he hasn't got a cutie mark for magic by now."
"If he's really that good than why don't you enroll him at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. I'm sure he'd like it there."
"Oh , he can't go there because um... he doesn't really like Cantorlot. We pretty much think almost everypony there are just stuck up. Well except for you of course, your actually nice."
"I honestly don't know whether I should be offended or not." Twilight joked."Why did you decide to come to Ponyville?"
Oh, we just couldn't afford to live in Cantorlot anymore. "
"Um, those are supposed to be really scary." said Applebloom
"I know, that's why I like them. I also play guitar."
"Really?" Said a new voice. Rainbow Dash flew on the ground and asked. "Dude, I don't know any pony here who knows how to play besides Vinyl Scratch. Names Rainbow Dash by the way."
"What you have ah cat?" Applebloom said. Then right on cue a black cat jumped on Night's back.
Sky then spoke." Well it's been a nice party do far, but we go to bed pretty early and were already tired so I hope we can end this party now."
Applejack then came in her room."Hey sis why did you take your ribbon off? "
Murder and Poetry
"Kiara no, Kiara please you can't do this to me. "
"Hello kids, we seem to have some surprise special visitors here." Said Cheerilee to all of the class. The students gasped as they saw not only Twilight, but also Princess Celestia, and Luna. But the students were confused as they all sad faces on them.
"Hello my little ponies, I'm afraid this isn't good news. None of this information has not exited Cantorlot until now, but a few days ago a filly in Cantorlot named Kiara was murdered." The students all had gaping mouths at this point. "We don't know who the killer is, but there has been evidence that leads here in Ponyville. Since she was around your age, We want to know if any of you knew her." Everypony stayed silent. Except for Night who was trying his best not to cry but was failing as tears were rolling down his cheek.
"Night did you know her?" Asked Twilight.
"She used to be a friend of mine, but don't ask me if I know who did it because I don't." Night replied.
"I'm very sorry young one. Did any pony else knew her." None of the students said a thing.
Luna then spoke up. "Your teacher hear told us that you all made poems. If you all want to cheer up the mood you can read them to us." They all nodded in agreement. Each student presented in alphabetical order . They were all pretty much the same talking about happiness and friendship until it was Nights turn.
"Perfect by nature. Icon of self indulgence. Just what we all need. More lies about a world that never was and never will be. Have you no shame don't you see me. Now you've got every pony fooled. Look here she comes know bow down and stare in wonder. Oh, how we love you. No flaws when you're pretending. Without the mask. Where will you hide. Can't find yourself. Lost in your lies. I know the truth now I know who you are. And I don't love you anymore. Because now you're every ponies fool."
"Well that was interesting. "Twilight said. "What did you think Princess Celestiaaaaa....." Twilight couldn't believe her eyes as Celestia and Luna were sitting in a corner.
"I wish I was never born." Celestia said.
"It's so sad."said Luna
Pinkie then stampedes through the school door. "My Pinkie sense tells me there's sadness in this school. What's the source."
"Hey Pinkie, can you read this poem for me?" Twilight said handing her the poem Night was holding.
After about a minute . She too was sitting in the corner. "I wish I was never born."
The princesses left to tell the whole town about the murder and that there were going to be guards around since the evidence led them their and that the sister's will be staying with Twilight. After a while their was some speculation on who the murderer was.
The CMC were also talking about this in there clubhouse. "Hey girls," Scootaloo spoke up."I think Night knows more about Kiara's murder than he's letting on."
"What makes you say that Scoots." Said Applebloom
"Well, the murder was a around three days ago. Night came here around two days ago, and he's from Cantorlot. And I really just don't believe his aunts reason for leaving."
"We are not going to just blame him for murder. " Sweetie Belle said.
"That's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that we should just keep a close eye on him."
There was a knock on the Friendship Castle doors that echoed throughout the hallways. Spike, the dragon assistant of Twilight ran through the castle to answer. Who he saw at the door was not somepony that he knew. It was a unicorn filly with a pink coat and a green mane with a deadpan look on her face. "Hello, can I help you? " he said awkwardly.
"Hello, my name is Namine." She said in a monotone voice. "Considering this is where Princess Twilight Sparkle lives, I hope I can ask her a question I'm sure she knows?"
"I'm sorry but she's not here right now. But if it's okay with you, you can ask me?" Spike said.
Namine thought for a moment. "Okay, I'm sure you can answer. I'm looking for a colt around my age who moved here recently. He goes by the name Night, and always wears a hoody. Do you know where he currently resides?" She asked in the same monotone voice.
"Oh yeah, he lives in the blue and red house down the street that way, you can't miss it. But you know you can just ask any pony here that."
"I only ask pony's I am at least 90% sure will be able to answer my questions, and thank you." She left a confused Spike and went down the street he told her to go with the same uninterested look. But that look quickly turned into confusion as Pinkie Pie appeared seemingly out of nowhere in front of her.
"Ohmygoshanewponyaren'tyoujustthecutestlittlefillyIeverlaifmyeyesonexceptforApplebloomofcoursewaitwherdidyougo?" While Pinkie was rambling on, she didn't notice that Namine hid in the Carousel Boutique to get away from her. "Wow, I must be crazier than I thought. That imaginary filly seemed so realistic. Oh wsll. La la la." Pinkie then hoped away.
Namine was looking at her through a window, and when she hoped out of her eyesight, she decided to leave. But before she could go to the door, she was picked up by a magical aura taking her to the unicorn mare Rarity. "Oh my darling, look at your mane it's all messed up, and is this a leaf on your head." She said picking up a leaf from her mane. "And that's not all, your coat is all dirty. Where have you been?"
"I just came to this town by walking through the wilderness from Cantorlot, so I was not able to take care of myself very. Now, will you please let me go? I have something I need to do." Namine is in usual voice.
"Oh no darling, I am taking you to the spa this instant so you can get cleaned up. Don't worry, I'll pay." She said while taking bet out of the Boutique and into the spa. "Hello Aloe, I need you to give ... excuse me, but what is your name?"
"Namine." She said blandly.
"Oh my what a lovely name. Please give Namine here the special filly's treatment please. " After Aloe heard this she picked up Namine and carried her another part of the despite her protests.
Then a bell sound came from the entrance of the spa. Rarity looked and saw a dirty Twilight and Fluttershy. "Oh my, what happened to you two?" Rarity asked.
Twilight then replied, " We were chasing a chicken that tan into the Everfree Forrest where we tripped into some mud. Now we're just going to get a spa bath because we don't think a regular one will get all the mud out. And what are you doing here? You usually only go to the spa on Sundays with Fluttershy here."
"Well, I saw this filly named Namine walk into the Boutique, and she was all dirty like you two right now, her mane all messy, and worst of all, she said she walked all the way here from Cantorlot. So I took her straight here to get cleaned up. "
"Cantorlot? But that's on a freaking mountain. There's no way she could have walked through all that,where is she?"
"Oh, she's coming here right now. Aloe has done an amazing job, as you can see."
Namine came back to the, but she was completely clean and was actually shining and was transparent. "Wait, your a crystal pony? But crystal ponies don't have horns. " Twilight stated.
"Ah, you must be Princess Twilight Sparkle." She said in her monotone voice. "It is a pleasure to meet you all, this unexpected spa trip was nice, and got all dirty stuff off me that was causing me not to shine. But now I must go visit Night, I've wasted enough time."
"Um, excuse me, " Fluttershy started, "but you walked here from Cantorlot. Shouldn't you like see a doctor or rest at least if that's okay with you? "
"She right ... um Namine right, yeah Namine , but if what you said was true than we're going to have to take you to the hospital now. I'm not taking any chances." Twilight said while dragging Namine with her magic. They were also followed by Fluttershy and eventually Rarity after she paid Aloe.
"Well despite the fact that she unnaturally monotone, she's perfectly healthy. " Said the doctor after he brought Namine back from the examination room. "All I need is for her parents or gaurdians to check her out. "
That's when an obvious question they all should have asked in the popped into Twilight's head."Wait, where are your parents?" She asked.
" I'm sorry, but I can't answer question. All I am to do is find Night without harming any pony." Namine said.
" Why must you find him darling? " Rarity asked. " And why can't you tell us anything about your parents?"
"Classified and classified."
"Okay, since when did you start talking like a secret agent?" Twilight said. "Can't you say anything with emotion? "
"Do you mean like this. " Namine somehow said in Twilight's exact voice.
"How did you do that! " Twilight asked shocked.
" Classified. "
" And we're back to monotone. "
"Goodbye. " She said right before she ran out the door.
"Come on girls, let's get her." Twilight said. She started running to catch her but was stopped by Fluttershy.
"Um.. Twilight. I don't think we need to catch and ask her a million questions. If she doesn't want to answer, then she doesn't have to. "
"Fluttershy is right darling. Just let her find that young colt. They might have more history than she's letting on if you know what I mean." Rarity said winking.
"Um.. I still needed to see her parents. " the Doctor Hooves said. "So as far as I'm concerned, she's technically a runaway patient. Plus check ups cost 50 bits." He said holding his hooves out.
Twilight sighed and payed him. She then noticed something coming to the hospital doors."Hey, aren't those the CMC. " She pointed to the Fillies who were carrying an unconscious Night with them.
"We need help." Scootaloo said. "We accidentally hit him in the head with a baseball and he's not waking up. " The doctor took Night into the emergency room while Rarity went to the CMC.
"What did you girls do?" She asked angrily.
"Scootaloo told you. We were playing baseball seeing if we could get our cutie marks, but Applebloom's pitch was so off it hit Night, who was just passing, really hard on the head."
"It wasn't that off. " Applebloom said.
Then Pinkie Pie popped out of the ground dragging along with her Rainbow Dash and Applejack. "My Pinkie sense tells me that some pony here was been hurt."
"Why did you have to drag us along? You could have gone without us." Said a very annoyed Rainbow Dash.
"Well my Pinkie sense tells me that something is going to happen that would need me to round up all my friends, so I thought I would do it ahead."
"Applebloom, what are ya doing here?" Applejack said. Applebloom told her what happened. "Gosh darn it Applebloom, I told you to be careful when crusading." She was interrupted by Doctor Hooves who came back to the waiting room with a very confused face.
"Um.. I have some news about Night here."
"Is there anything wrong with him?" Twilight asked.
" Yeah he just needs to rest for a while, but you see, I discovered something interesting about him."
"What is it?"
"Well, I had to remove his hoody to see if there was anything else wrong him and well... I think it's best if you see for yourself.
Applejack then turned to the CMC. "I don't really want ya two hit him unconscious again." The Mane Six followed doctor Hooves to where he has Night and what they saw made them speechless to say the least.
They were all looking at Night's back that was no longer covered by a hoody.
Night had wings.
"I don't understand." Said Twilight.
"I know," said Rainbow Dash. "How could he hide his wings, all pegasus should be proud of their wings."
"That's not what I meant! He's not just a pegasus, he's an alicorn. The rarest type of pony. I have to tell Celestia about this. "
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." Said a voice. They all turned around and saw Namine who had a crossbow aimed at them using her magic.
"I'm going to run for my life now." Said Hooves right before he jumped out of the window.
"Good thing we're on the first floor. " Said Fluttershy.
"Okay Namine, put weapon down." Twilight said cautiously.
"Listen to her." Said a voice. They were all shock to hear it come Night who was now standing up. "And that disguise isn't fooling me just so you know." He said angrily. He then walked up to Namine and shoved her. " What the hell is wrong with you, I thought you were dead." Je said to Namine confusing all the other ponies in the room.
"Wait, dead? What do you mean dead?" Rainbow asked.
Namine looked at the ponies in the room and then to Night. "Should I tell them?"
Night sighed. "Might as well. They already know about me so there's point."
Namine nodded and then casted a spell on her self. There was a bright light that kept every pony from being able to see her. When the light finally died down, they saw that her green mane was now a light pink color, and her coat was now yellow instead of pink. "Wait a second," Twilight said in disbelief. " You're that Kiara girl that was murdered."
The filly Kiara turned to the shocked mares and nodded. " I knew that there was a pony who was going to try to kill me, so I made a lifeless duplicate of myself so he would think killed me when tries. Unfortunately, I was unable to tell any pony including Night for it would endangered classified information. In fact the only reason I'm telling all of you this is because Night told me to."
"What what?" Twilight said. " That's not enough information. "
"Well, too bad," Night said. "That's all we're telling you. Come on Kiara, we're leaving this town."
Night and Kiara were about to leave the room until they were stopped by a purple shield. Twilight then got in front of them. "I'm sorry but I can't let you two leave. Since alicorns are the most powerful of ponies they have to be reported. "
Night then sighed."NALA, PICK US UP!" Then the cat from Night's house broke through the window with hissing noises coming from it.
Rainbow then started laughing. "How is a cat going to " she didn't get to finish her because a huge flame of fire came out Nala's mouth and scorched the very tip of her mane.
It then turned into a what looked like a hybrid of a cat and a dragon that was at least 7 feat long. Night and Kiara then jumped on it. "Okay Nala, get us out of zzzzzzzz." Night, Kiara, and Nala then fell asleep.
"I, just casted a magic spell on them" said Twilight. She then turned to Fluttershy. " Did you know about that cat dragon thing?"
"Oh yes, it's called a Dragline. There supposed to be really rare and are only really found north of the Crystal Empire. Night comes to me to get food for him. "
"Wait," said Rainbow Dash. " how come you didn't tell us about that thing.?"
"None of you asked."
Rarity then spoke up. "Um darling, if it's supposed to be rare then how do have food for it?"
"I have my methods."
"Okay enough of that." Said Twilight. "Let's just get these three to Celestia and Luna at the Friendship Castle. "
" I can't believe this. " said a surprisingly calm princess Celestia. The two royal sisters were looking down on Night, Kiara, and Nala. "There are only two ways an Alicorn is made, they are eithergiven the power with a pire enough heart or born an Alicorn. And the thing is, at least one parent has to be an Alicorn, and thare are only four other Alicorns, myself included, that exist."
"Actually Rainbow. " Said Twilight. "Alicorns age normally until they reach there thirties, then they age really slowly. So the fact that he is a colt still makes no sense. It is possible someone made him into an alicorn but I doubt the three of us would just do that and keep it a secret. " Celestia and Luna nodded.
"Hey guys!" Exclaimed Pinkie. "He's waking up." They all looked to see Night getting up from the floor, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
"Where am I?" He asked tiredly.
"Your in the friendship castle young Night." Said Celestia. Then Nights eyes went open with fear. He saw that he was surrounded by the elements of harmony and the princesses.
