Lost: The End Nears
A Bad Dream
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI got out of my bed and got dressed. I couldn't get the dream from last night out of my mind. It was just...horrific. There was no way that the dream was coincidental. It meant something was going to happen. Something horrible.
I went outside and headed for Lyra's house. She and Bon Bon lived on the complete opposite side of Ponyville from me, so finding her home was easy.
I knocked on the door a few times.
It opened, and my marefriend welcomed me inside.
"Lyra, you know how you talked about you having a nightmare with demons?"
She nodded her head. "Yeah...why?"
"Well, last night...I had a dream...that...it was just......"
"It was just what?"
"It was just...horrific. I know that my dream last night was no coincidence...that it meant something....I thought that I should tell you about it.....it could kind of help solve why I am always having evil come my way. I mean, I was attacked by changelings, three times!"
She sat down next to me on the couch. "So, tell me about it. What happened?"
It was hard for me to explain. It was THAT horrible. "Well, it started like a normal day....waking up in my bed......but after getting my limbs to wake up and after I went outside......the.......the green grass turned barren and blazing with fire.....the sky was, red, like...blood red......there were dead corpses all over Ponyville.......I ran to your house.......and you were there.......dead......on the floor........horn bruised too bad to ever heal............cuts and tears all over your body...............I started crying....the world around me went black........and there was a voice......I asked it what was going on.........and it said....'You'll find out soon enough.....peasant.....' almost as if the voice was implying something horrible was going to happen..."
She stared in awe at my story of the dream. "I-I don't know what to say... What do you think is going to happen?"
I sighed. "I don't know. All I can hope is for it to not include anyone dying."
"Don't you mean 'anypony'?"
I facepalmed. "Where I came from, anyone or anybody meant the exact same as anypony. I told you that! Like...a million times!"
She giggled. "I know, I know... Just teasing."
The area around us started shaking like mad. It stopped quickly, but was followed by the sound of an explosion. We headed outside and looked around.
It had came from the Everfree forest. Right behind my house.
I ran to my home. When I got there, it was perfectly fine, except Fang was barking at something in the forest.
I tried calling him back. "Fang. Fang c'mon. Fang!"
He just kept on barking. I looked up at what it was he was barking at. I didn't see anything.
Just then, two green glowing eyes appeared from the depths of the dark forest, and a small demonic chuckle came from it's direction. Just as soon as they appeared, the eyes were gone.
That voice. It was the same laugh as in my dream!
I tried to not think about it and just went back to what I was doing. "Fang. Come on. There's nothing there."
The voice returned. "Or so you think..."
A Purplish greenish blast came from the forest and hit Fang right in the forehead. He just stared at the forest, not moving a muscle.
I walked up to him. "Fang? You alright?"
I put my hand onto his back. He turned around and tackled me, knocking me onto my back.
"Fang?! What's gotten into you?!"
His eyes were green, and he had red iris's instead of his original blue. They were just like the eyes from the forest.
I heard a familiar voice. "Fang?! What's going on?! What's wrong with his eyes?!"
I looked up. "Lyra! Go! Now!!!"
She stood there, dumbfounded. "What's going on?!"
"Just go!!!"
Before Lyra could even move, Fang tackled her. I got up and pulled on him, trying to pry what was once my best friend off of Lyra. He started biting the air and barking.
I concentrated hard, and my body glowed white. I threw Fang into the air off of Lyra behind me. I turned around, and he ran into the forest.
I just stood there, trying to figure out what just happened. "Fang..."
"He's gone. This must be the start of that horrible thing that's going to happen."
I nodded my head. "Yeah...probably............Think we should tell Twilight?"
"Well duh! We obviously can't handle this by ourselves! Didn't you see what happened to Fang?!"
"Well duh! Didn't you see that he was trying to kill us?!"
She facehoofed. "Let's just go."
We now had made our way to the giant library that Twilight lived in.
I knocked on the door. It opened, revealing the small purple dragon.
"Hey Roe, whattsup?"
"Is Twilight here? We have something important to tell her."
He turned around and yelled. "Twilight! You have visitors!"
Spike welcomed us inside as Twilight came down from some stairs.
"Oh, hey Roe! Hey Lyra! Whattsup?"
"We have something important to tell you." I said as Spike closed the door.
Lyra started reading about ancient legends in some of Twilights books while I got ready to tell her what happened.
"Okay, so last night, I had this dream, well, more of a nightmare, and I know that it isn't coincidental. It was just....horrific........like......like my worst fear coming to life........and at the end.........there was a strange voice that spoke to me......saying that I will learn soon enough about what was going on. I saw two eyes and heard the voice come from the Everfree forest behind my house, and it sounded just like the voice from my dream. It had a purplish greenish magic that turned Fang against me, and he tried to kill me and Lyra."
Lyra looked up from one of her books and yelled out. "I think I know what it is! It must be a Windigo!"
"Twilight facehoofed. "Windigos don't exist! They disappeared long ago!"
"Oh. Well then...back to searching!" Lyra stuck her face back into the book, scanning every beast she found.
The purple mare turned back to me. "So, did you see anything distinctive about the eyes? Describe them."
"They were green, with a red iris...and a pupil shaped like a cat's."
"Anything else?"
"Well, come to think of it...there were weird purple strands coming from the eyes....and a faint red glow from above the middle of the eyes, almost as if it was like a horn, surging with power."
She then grew worried. "Oh no. Oh no no no no no no no! This is bad! Very bad! We have to alert Princess Celestia and the others, especially Cadence!"
"Ah ha! I found it! The beast is...........an enchanted manticore!" Lyra seemed happy for a moment.
"NO! This is much worse than an enchanted manticore! This is much worse!"
"Dang It!!! I thought I had it!" Lyra slammed the book shut and set ip back into it's position.
I was getting extremely worried. "Twilight? What's wrong? What is going on? Why is it so important that we need to warn the princesses?"
"I'll explain everything later after we get there. We need to go NOW!!!"
