Author's Note
Okay guys, I hope you like this. This is my first time writing a FIMFiction, so wish me luck. Sorry for the short chapter.
Prolouge
Chicago University was up to something.
That's what the profiler told him. The encryption on their computers was horrible. According to logs, they had developed a trans-dimensional portal. They were going to test it tomorrow.
Normally, this wouldn't have worried Aiden.
But this time, it did.
He had gotten an e-mail from a mob boss labeling himself "D-Cord". Aiden didn't know anything about him. The source was encrypted. After following it, he was dropped at the doorstep of MingHin Cuisine. From what he could tell, there wasn't anything in there. He had been misled.
So what? He was going to be paid several hundred thousand dollars for this fixer contract. He'd ship most of it to St. Louis, for Nicky and Jackson, but for now he was going to worry about the task at hand.
He needed to get to the ctOS provider just outside the university. That was going to be a problem.
Several police cars. After becoming a vigilante, he wasn't thrilled with the idea of blowing up the cars. He'd need a lure.
After quickly strapping some chemicals to some wires and a fuse, he lit it with a match and tossed it in the general direction of the university.
The police quickly ran to investigate what they thought was a shooting. Aiden ran to the ctOS tower and began to climb.
After reaching the platform, he did some fancy hacking.
"Turn that, that... that... press that... ten seconds..." he mumbled to himself.
After unlocking the system, he was able to hack into the systems. He climbed back down the tower, narrowly evading the returning policemen.
He went to the other side of the university, heading to the astronomy building.
Over on this side, there was stone walls instead of wrought iron fence. These were easier to scale due to the mass accumulation of ivy with stems as thick as quarters.
He leapt to the ground, grunting at impact. That was a six foot drop.
He was forty-five now. He really shouldn't have been pulling stunts like that.
It was a quick jog with no guard to the building. Once there, he climbed a relatively sturdy drain and hoped for the best.
After reaching the top, he picked the lock on the door with a skeleton key, and delved in. The lab was right across from him. His profiler picked up nobody but a single guard.
Aiden crept up behind him in silence and knocked him out with a few blows from the nightstick.
The door was a heavy-metal electromagnet door an inch thick. It was easily opened with a few choice clicks on the screen of Aiden's profiler.
He walked into the room and found the console, hacking it very slowly.
"This is probably the only computer in the building encrypted. What do they have to hide?" the Fox thought to himself while hacking.
After reaching the last level of security, he retrieved all the access codes, storing them on his phone. He ran from the scene toward his dumpster base, anxious that someone would go into the lab and discover the rigged computer.
His phone was the detonator. Back in the loop, in his base, he would press a few buttons and the access codes would activate the computer. He'd then overload the electrical input to the machine.
What he didn't take into play was the fact that the device needed a location. The phone would upload its own coordinates to satisfy the needs of the program.
Diving into his safe-haven, Aiden clicked the button, and was thrown into a parallel universe. A universe with a surprisingly large pony population.
Celestia did not like her schedule to be interrupted.
Famous people have hard lives. They're mobbed everywhere they go. It's hard to go to the zoo with a friend if you're famous.
It wasn't quite this way on Equestria, though people tended to act like the princess in question didn't have a personal life.
Celestia woke up every morning at four. Went out to the gardens and enjoyed the tranquility while it lasted, while overviewing any legal documents or cases she'd have to do in day court. At five or six, depending on the season, she rose the sun.
At six-thirty, she ate breakfast with the rest of the royalty in Canterlot at the time.
At seven, she trotted over to day court, where annoying misers would vex her with minor complaints.
At noon it was time for lunch, thank Faust.
Lunch went on until one, where she returned to dreaded day court until five.
At five, she retired to do whatever she wanted, normally falling asleep at nine to twelve.
On the weekends, she would do whatever she wanted to, restraining from legal matters, snooty upper-class ponies, and political matters.
Now, she was sitting in the gardens on a checkered blanket, reading over a case file.
Sadly, somepony- or rather somecreature was doing things that attracted her attention.
Two weeks ago, they found a corpse of a pony, with no obvious damage.
But when the looked under his mane, they found a long hole that went through her skull. In a biopsy, they found a small chunk of lead embedded in his brain.
There was one witness.
Cloud Kicker. A younger Pegasus traveling on vacation from Ponyville.
Her account was written down in the case folder.
"I was walking along Market Street when I was suddenly pulled into an ally. There was a stallion who wanted my bits. I was pulling my wallet out of my saddle bags when I heard a loud explosion. Then the stallion collapsed. I got a brief glimpse of my savior. It stood upright on its hind legs, like a diamond dog, and it had claws, like a dragon. That's all I know. " read the account. Celestia wished she could talk to this thing, though she wondered what Luna would think of that. After all, Luna probably wouldn't appreciate vigilante intervention.
Monday day court was not going to be good.

Sorry this one took so long.
Thanks for the friendly responses to this.
This is, for some reason, doubling up. Sorry :/
Catching him in the act
Aiden lay in his cot.
His little dumpster base was hidden near the castle of the two sisters, covered in moss and foliage. The door barely worked.
'This forest certainly isn't like the ones back home', Aiden had thought very often.
The small base had retained all its medication, parts, and weapons that it had in the previous world. Aiden had been especially cautious when he crept up to the unstable chemical components that might have been jostled in the teleport.
His computer worked, but in a strange way. He couldn't access the internet, which wasn't surprising. What was surprising was that bursts of static came in waves whenever he used it.
When investigating the source of this interference, he found high levels of electricity in the air around him. He couldn't track the source to any device, so he assumed it was because of the horned horses.
When he had first gotten there, he had crawled out of the base to find tall trees surrounding him. He quickly adjusted and discovered that this was not a digital trip, and set out to find civilization, if there was any.
Upon stumbling upon Ponyville, he quickly hid back in the bushes. There were horses out there!
After more spying, he quickly determined there were three types of horses. Horses with horns, which he dubbed "unicorns," due to there similarities to the mythical animal. The horse with wings he had seen was probably a pegasus, due to its similarity to the mythical Greek godly horse. The last ones were just... well, horses.
They also all had strange tattoo-like marks on their flanks. Aiden took note of this, reminding himself to learn about this later.
Under closer inspection, the unicorns could levitate things and cast spells, or in simpler terms, magic.
Aiden was surprised by this until he noticed their extreme lack of technology and its replacement by this "magic."
He fiddled around with the electricity tracker on the profiler. There was electricity coming from the unicorn's horns, the... (pegasuses's? pegasi's? He decided to settle on "pegasi") pegasi's wings, and the regular horse's whole body. He wondered why the normal horse had magic until he saw one of them buck a tree. Yeah, those muscles were definitely not big enough to rattle a whole tree!
Aiden had dashed back to the small room of his, and immediately began tweaking his phone. It now was able to tap into the specific magical signatures that each of these horses had. When testing the device in the field, he had learned different equines had slightly different magical traces, somewhat like a magical fingerprint.
This lead to him formulating a plan to identify the miniature horses.
One dark night, he had snuck into the largest building in town, the one with a large spire that he assumed to be the town hall. He snuck into it under the cover of night, easily getting past the single horse guard that lacked a weapon of any sort. He riffled through the records, grabbed the lists of residents, then snuck out with the information containing the horses' names, address, physical description... and the marks on their flanks, labeled as "cutie marks," which Aiden frowned upon and deemed an exceedingly dumb name.
Now, he could profile anyone in the area of "Ponyville." Aiden decided that they should probably fire whoever named the towns. According to the records, he found that the normal horses were actually called "earth ponies" and the was one resident of a different species, called an "alicorn" named Twilight Sparkle.
That night, he decided to do some field testing.
Under the cover of the abnormally large moon (He'd checked- it was over two times the size of Earth's moon!), he climbed up onto one of the building's roofs with a grunt. He was more careful then usual because of the unusual material used for roofing.
He pulled out his phone, looking for potential criminals. He was rewarded with a blue hexagon, a "crime in progress" marker. He found that it was coming from the purple, white, and gold spire. He ran, jumping off the lowest part of the roof and only taking about a four foot fall. After about two minutes, he reached the front door.
"Ow! Get out, you ruffian! You are a crime against fashion!" a voice yelled from the interior.
Aiden ran through the already smashed door to find two ponies fighting. There was an earth pony dressed in black about to knock out a unicorn with a white coat and purple mane. Aiden pulled out his M8-M revolver and fired in into the earth pony's right leg. He fell down.
"What was that? Ow!" he yelled.
Aiden clubbed him across the head with his baton, shutting him up.
"Er... well... thank you?" the unicorn mare said, looking at the creature that towered over her.
Aiden allowed himself to smile a bit underneath his neck-warmer scarf. "Haven't you heard? I'm the vigilante. I clean up mess like him."
He then ran out the front door back into the forest.
