Chapters The fucked up life of Lynx.
Midnight meetings, and a guard's confusion
Lynx walked out of the Library Twilight and himself would be staying in, and out into the night, adjusting his father's hat, and flaring his wings. A cool breeze sifted through his dark blue wings. Lynx started to run at a house, then jumped off of it, and up into the night sky. A beautiful starry night sky greeted Lynx as he flew through the air, dodging clouds and taking in the calm moonlight shining down on him. Lynx looked down on the smallish town and smiled lightly as a few couples walked through the streets, taking a stroll. Turning his head to his destination, he realized that it wasn't too far from the Everfree Forest. Lynx slowed down as he began to land. Lynx ended up crashing into the ground side first into some branches, instead of a regular landing, on his feet. He groaned as he got up and brushed himself off, noticing a few cuts on his arm.
'Crap. Better not let Fluttershy see those. Now where are those...what the fuck?'
Lynx raised an eyebrow as he found his parent's memorials that he had made when he was 12, surrounded by bouquets apon bouquets of every flower known to Lynx.
'How? I never told anypony about this...'
Shaking his head, Lynx searched his pockets for the necklaces he and a metal worker in canterlot had worked on. One was a silver wolf with sapphire eyes and a emerald aura. Lynx had never understood Equestria's magic, so he just went with it. Lynx walked over to the tombstone grave he had made and hung the necklace over it, dangling with his father's dog tags. The dog tags read;
'Colonel Jake W. Shadow USAF' And his tombstone read; 'A badass, a father, and an awesome brother. Jake W. Shadow, 1979-2016'
Stepping over the flowers on the ground, Lynx made his way to his mother's tombstone. She didn't have any dog tags, because she wasn't in the military. She had been a college professor, teaching mathematics. Lynx took out the other necklace, which was a robin with emerald eyes and a ruby and silver body, a golden aura surrounding the bird. Lynx kneeled before the tombstone and hung the necklace on it and on the tombstone it read;
'A mother, a sister, and a best friend to all. Alice J. Castle, 1971-2016.'
Lynx shed a tear, before wiping it away, and setting his eyes on the task of perfecting their memorials. He had made this when he was twelve, way before he had access to any kind of tools to carve perfect tombstones. So he found some large rocks and put them in the ground, calling it good.
Some son he was.
Bringing his sword out, Lynx began to cut off jagged pieces on the tombstones with powerful slashes. The edge of Lynx's sword was made of sharpened diamond, so that it could cut through just about anything. The sword was also infused with some of Celestia's magic, making the sword easier to wield, and giving it more power.
While doing this, Lynx saw something move in the reflective surface of his sword. Spinning around, he looked around and saw nothing. Lynx kept a keen eye as he went back to fixing the tombstones. Watching his sword while he worked, he saw that it was a familiar dark blue Alicorn with a starry mane, looking at him curiously, while hiding behind a tree. Lynx smiled. Acting like he was going to take another big slash at the tombstone, Lynx raised the sword high, then spun it, and threw it mere inches from the Alicorn's muzzle with deadly accuracy, making her flinch back in surprise. The sword impaled itself in the soft earth next to Luna.
"Hello there Luna. You didn't have to hide, I promise I don't bite...unless you give me a reason to."
Shaking her head, Princess Luna began to speak in old English and a annoying loud voice, but Lynx stopped her. He walked over to her calmly, received his sword, and went back to shaping tombstones.
"Luna. I know you know how to speak correctly. Please just drop the accent with me."
"Very well. What are you doing out here, Sargent Lynx Shadow?" She asked in a much lower octave.
Lynx looked at her blankly. "Luna. You don't have to say my whole title, just call me Lynx. Besides, I'm off duty. To answer your question, I am honoring my parents with this memorial and i'm just...cleaning them up a bit. What are you doing out here Princess? Shouldn't you be in Canterlot?"
Luna looked down at her hooves, lost in thought. "I left and came here, because the royals are extremely boring, and they don't like me. Although, i don't blame them after all i have done..." Lynx nodded in sympathy as he slashed off another jagged piece of rock. Looking at the tombstone, Lynx saw that it looked a little better, satisfied, he turned around, and leaned on his sword like cane, the blade slightly sinking into the soft earth.
"I feel you there, when I went, no, more like was forced, to live in canterlot, it took many months for both the royals and townsfolk to start accepting me. I didn't want to live in the castle so, I tried looking for a house to rent. All of them sent me away and I was stuck living on the streets, until I met Twilight Velvet and Twilight Sparkle."
Luna sat down. "Tell me more. I wish to know how you, and Twilight Sparkle, became close friends." Lynx sighed.
"I've already told one story today, I don't want to tell another."
"That is an order Sgt. Shadow. Th-I demand it." Lynx chuckled.
"I am a day guard."
"No, thou is a day and night guard. Thou has received training for both." Lynx sighed in defeat. Luna was right. Both the solar and lunar guards had trained him. Part of the reason why he was already a Sgt.
Only part though.
"Can i at least get a please out of you?" Luna smiled as she flared her wings, hovering above the ground a few inches and asked in an adorable voice;
"Pleaseeeeeeeeeee???????????"
while doing this;
"D-d-d-damn L-l-luna! T-t-that was adorable! Yeah I guess can tell you how I met twi."
Luna giggled and sat down next to him. Lynx sheathed his sword.
"Ok, so it all began when..."
(Seven years ago....)
"Sorry, but you scare most of the ponies here and it would be bad for my business if I allowed you to buy a house from me. Once again, sorry, and good day to you sir." A grey earth pony in a suit said as he slammed the door in Lynx's face. The impact of the door hitting his face made Lynx rub his now bruised forehead. Sighing, Lynx made his way back over to his favorite running trail and began to jog. A bench along the trail caught Lynx's eye as he panted heavily from running non-stop for two and a half hours. Sitting down on the bench, Lynx began to look up and around at the park, the only place where the city wasn't covered with cement or stone. Lynx dreamed of going back to Ponyvile and seeing thunder, lightning, rose, and the mares again. Especially Rainbow...Lynx sat upright.
'No Lynx! No! That was just...just...a dare ! Yeah! It's not like she liked you...or did she?'
'I don't know Lynx, that kiss was really something...' Another voice in Lynx's head said sarcastically.
'Fuck off Wolf! I don't want to deal with you right now!'
'What a dick...'
'Oh so I'm a dick?'
Lynx's thoughts were interrupted by a panting purple unicorn with dark purple hair, and a white unicorn with purple hair with white streaks in it, stopped in front of Lynx's bench. The purple unicorn didn't seem athletic at all, while the white unicorn seemed full of energy. The purple one seemed around Lynx's age and confirmed it by complaining.
"M-mom (pant) why did I (pant) have to come with you? This is torture!" Lynx chuckled in his head, and Wolf did as well, thinking;
'If only she knew.'
"Mom" scoffed. "Oh please twilight, all you ever do is study, study, study, and no fun!" then the white unicorn looked at Lynx, who was still panting a little. "Besides there's nothing wrong with a good run, wouldn't you agree Lynx?" Lynx straightened up.
"How do you..." The mare grinned.
"Oh please, all Celestia talks about with me anymore is you and Twilight here. You know, she is pretty worried about you, Lynx."
"Twilight" and Lynx looked at each other, then looked at the white mare in confusion once more.
"Huh?" They said in unison. The white mare just smiled.
"How about we all introduce ourselves. I'll go first. My name is Twilight Velvet." She held out her hoof to Lynx. Lynx shook it.
"Lynx Shadow, and before you ask, I don't want to be a prince." The purple unicorn walked up to Lynx and held out her hoof, shaking slightly
"T-twilight Sparkle, student of Princess Celestia. What exactly are you? I haven't seen a lynx like you before. I didn't even know Lynxs' could talk." Lynx and Velvet laughed.
"I am a human. My...father...well he named me Lynx in memory of his grandfather." Twilight looked disappointed.
"Aww and here I thought I found a new cat species..." Lynx looked at Velvet in confusion, who just shrugged. Then she spoke.
"So Lynx, how goes the friend and house search?" Lynx visibly cringed.
"Not well. All of these stuck up ponies, no offence, are still scared of me, and think I should be on the streets where I belong." Twilight gasped.
"That's horrible! I'm so sorry, I don't see why someponies are afraid of you...(wait. wasn't she shaking in fear a minute ago? well either she's really bipolar or just fuck my logic)...hey mom?"
Velvet looked at Twilight. "Yes?"
"Can't he stay with us?" Velvet smiled.
"Why? Are Shining and Spike not good enough for you?" Twilight rolled her eyes.
"They don't talk to me anymore. Would you Lynx?" Lynx smiled, and then put a hand to his chin, stroking his non-existent goatee.
"Depends..." She looked at him with a pair of purple, irresistible, puppy dog eyes.
"Puhleeese?"
"Fine."
"Yes! Now I can learn about humans!" Together, the three of them headed to the sparkle home, side by side, talking about random topics to pass the time.
(present time)
Luna looked at Lynx incredulously.
"So...that's it? Just like that?" Lynx just shrugged.
"Honestly I think Celestia called in a favor and the Sparkles are just a happy go-lucky family. Now, what made me and Twi good friends is what happened at that house hold. But that's a story for another time."
Luna sighed. "Very well, thou can tell me next time I visit." Lynx nodded. Then he looked at his watch.
"It's pretty late, I have to make sure the girls are fine, and I need some sleep. I look forward to seeing you again Princess Luna."
"As do I Sgt...err...I mean...Lynx." With that, the dark blue Alicorn spread her wings, and flew away into the night sky. Lynx watched as her body disappeared from his sight. Lynx sheathed his sword.
'That ass though...' A voice in Lynx's head teased. Lynx rolled his eyes.
'Fuck off Wolf. We can't be hitting on the princess. It's against the law or something.'
'Damn politics...'
'Exactly.' With that, Lynx flared his wings and leapt into the air, thrusting his powerful wings to keep aloft. As he sailed into the night sky, he started to pester Wolf, the entity stuck in his head.
'So...Luna huh?'
'No. More like...Celestia.' Lynx's eyes went wide and almost crashed into the ground. Gaining altitude before he ate shit, he asked;
'Uh...may I ask why?'
'Have you seen that ass?' Lynx blushed and a tent in his pants began to form as he remembered something.
'Yes Wolf, I have, and so have you. In fact, we even got to...to...do something with it. Isn't that good enough for you? And will you please stop trying to watch it all play out again?'
'Oh come on, you know you want to remember that again.' Lynx sighed.
'Yes...but...what I don't want to do is show up at Twilight's with a super-hard cock!'
'Too late.' Sadly, Wolf was right. There was a rather large tent formed Lynx's pants. Lynx looked around in the air and saw a lake surrounded by a few trees. Lynx smiled as he braced himself and dived down towards the body of water.
'You wouldn't...'
'Hell yes I will! Cold shower for the-SPLOOSH!' Lynx was cut off as his skin touched the ice cold water, putting an end to his erection. Lynx quickly swam his way to shore, and gasping and shivering.
'C-c-celestia fucking d-damnit Lynx! W-w-why!?' Wolf shouted and stuttered in Lynx's mind. Lynx wondered the same as he made his way into Ponyvile, shivering in the cool, now freezing, breeze. His ABU's with the guard logo and Celestia's and Luna's crest on either side of his shoulders, clung to him, trapping him in a frozen prison. His wings dripped with the frozen water from the lake, and ice had formed in the feathers, making his wings too heavy, and painful to fly with.
'Fuck it! Shirt's going off!' Lynx thought as he set his sword down by a nearby building and took off his soaking shirt. Grabbing his shirt and sword, Lynx ran to the library, drying off a little and getting some exercise in too. As he approached the tree/library, Lynx heard some things being thrown around and some arguing. Reaching behind his back, he pulled out his sword and pressed against the door, ready to kick it down. Hearing the sound of hoof steps, Lynx whipped around, sword just inches away from the pony's nose. It was Apple Jack.
"Woah there, Lynx. Ya nearly cut mah muzzle off!" Lynx sighed.
"Sorry just a little on edge. Do you know what's going on in there?" Lynx asked, pointing at the library. AJ shook her head.
"Not a clue, sugarcube." Then she walked past Lynx, going into the library. Lynx followed, sword still in hand. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Spike, Thunderlane, and Fluttershy quieted down as Lynx and Apple Jack entered the Library.
"Hey guys, what's going on in here?"
Twilight spoke up. "Nothing just uh..."
Pinkie Pie cut her off.
"We're just figuring out where you're going to stay. Also-" RD put a hoof in her mouth.
Lynx laughed. "Ok simple, I'm staying with Twi. I was actually assigned as her personal guard as of yesterday, and well, she's my best friend."
"Oh. Ok..." Thunderlane said, pawing at the ground. RD and AJ also did this. Lynx realized what he had just said.
"Oh come on guys, I didn't mean it like that. You all are still my best friends in equestria. I just need to stay with Twilight here because she doesn't know the town and i do. Also, i'm her guard so i kinda have to keep a close on her." The three nodded.
"We just haven't seen you in forever and..." Thunderlane started.
Lynx put his hand up. " And you want to spend time with me. Well didn't you hear celestia? Im not going anywhere. Goodnight." With that, Lynx set his clothes, sword, and hat on the couch before laying on the floor, curling up, and falling asleep. The group of ponies looked at Lynx with a raised brow.
"Uh...Lynx?" Twilight asked as she prodded the human with her hoof. No response came from the sleeping male . AppleJack grinned.
"Lynx ain't gonna wake up sugarcube. Ya should know this already." Yawning, a sleepy Rainbow Dash made her way over to the sleeping human and curled up to him, resting her head on his chest.
Jaws dropped, while spike and Twilight looked on in confusion.
"Uh...does she normally act like that?"
Thunderlane shook his head. "Nope...that's a new one..." The rainbow maned mare opened her rose colored eyes.
"And this never happened..." With that, the rest of the ponies took the hint and made their way to their respective homes, leaving a sleeping human and cyan mare curling up to one another in the moonlight.
======================================================================================
Golden rays of sunlight shone in Lynx's face as he was awakened by the sound of someone knocking on the library door. Lynx ignored it and continued to sleep. The knocking got louder.
"This is LT. Flashstorm, open up!" Lynx's eyes snapped open as he recognized the voice.
"Hold on a second and i'll answer the door!" Lynx yelled as he cradled his "pillow". That was until he realized that it wasn't a pillow in his arms, but a messy haired, rainbow maned, cyan pegasus. Lynx's eyes widened. "what in the fuck...?"
"Sarge, get your flank out here before the Captain has our hides!"
Shaking his head, Lynx quickly detached himself from the sleeping mare and started putting on his uniform.
'Still damp...damnit.'
Grabbing his sword and hat, Lynx ran out of the library, colliding with a white pegasus wearing the same uniform. Only difference was the gold bar that lynx didnt have. Standing at attention, Lynx saluted.
"Sorry Lieutenant."
"Let's just go before the Captain kills us."
"Yes Sir!"
(Canterlot, Elite Guard Training grounds.)
It was a slightly chilly morning and the sun was slowly making it's way over the horizon illuminating the sky in a bright orange glow. It might have been a beautiful morning to enjoy and take part of if the Phoenix Guard didn't have to stand in formation and watch as their commander paced back and forth muttering under his breath.
Captain Night Striker was a dark blue unicorn with a single grey stripe that ran down his right side. His mane was a jet black with a slight blue accent to it. His cutie mark was a sword being illuminated by the moon. His eyes were a piercing amber color. His gleaming sword gave off a soft "clink" with every step he took. He wore a red and yellow uniform, decorated with similar traits as a blazing fire. He looked to the skies and smiled slightly at the approach of his last two guards. Landing with heavy breaths, the two new arrivals saluted him.
"Sir! 1st Lieutenant Flashstorm Reporting for duty! Sorry for the lateness!"
"Sir! Seargent Shadow Reporting for duty! Sorry for the lateness!"
Night Striker looked at them with cold eyes. "Don't let it happen again you two. Fall in."
"Yes Sir!" The two fell in to formation and Night Striker started to take roll. Facing a Griffin wearing the ranks of a Seargent, Night Striker raised a hoof to his head, saluting.
"Report."
The Griffin saluted.
"Sir, all guard in my team are present and accounted for, with the exceptions of Steel Heart, Sir!" The Captain nodded then faced the other teams lined up, doing the same thing. After the attendance was done, Night Striker led his troop through some rigorous training, (push ups, wing ups, 7 mile run, and drill) leaving them winded, with aching bodies, and fast beating hearts. Next, they went to the training grounds where the Captain singled Lynx out.
Lynx stood at the ready with his sword out while the rest of his troop armed themselves with weapons. Night Striker slowly walked up to Lynx slowly, raising a levitated sword at him.
"So...Seargent....I heard about your little assignment in ponyville..."
Lynx gulped. 'Fuck...' Lynx thought in his head.
"...and that you failed at it. Was it really THAT hard to guard Celestia's student? No? Well then, today, we're going to find out if you are worthy enough for the job. LT! Grab a bow and some blunted arrows will ya? Let's make this FUN."
With that, Night Striker swung his blade in an arc, causing Lynx to flinch back and raise his sword to block the attack with his sword, Slicing the Captain's sword in half.
'Huh, i guess a diamond edged sword does come in handy.' Wolf said in Lynx's head.
The Captain grinned as he threw away his sword, and levitated a wooden sword from a wall to Lynx. "Ah ah ah... you get to use a training sword today. No upperhand to you."
Lynx pouted as he sheathed his sword and threw it to the side, grabbing the wooden sword from Striker's magical grasp. Taking in his surroundings, Lynx saw that Flashstorm had a bow and arrow in his hooves, trained soley on him. The rest of his troop watched from the side, making bets. The captain tapped Lynx on the shoulder with his own training sword, getting his attention.
"Shall we begin Seargent, or do you want to daydream all day?"
Lynx responded with a low-sweeping kick to the Captain's legs, causing him to fall and give Lynx the chance to put his sword to his throat. Lynx grinned.
"The question, Captain, is if you are ready." A sharp, searing pain on Lynx's back caused him to reel back and look around. An arrow by Lynx's feet made him look to Flashstorm, who grinned as he nocked back another arrow.
"Don't get cocky Lynx. That's what gets guards killed."
'The Captain's right lynx...' Wolf said in lynx's head. Lynx growled.
'How about you help me out then?'
'Nope this one's on you.' Wolf stated as the Captain's sword came back at Lynx in a flurry of strikes, in which Lynx failed to block. The Captain grinned. Lynx rubbed the spots that Night Striker hit.
"What happened to the Lynx i know from Baisic training, hm?" Lynx thrust his sword at the Captain and spun around, giving the unicorn a round house kick to the side. The Captain responded with a signal to Flashstorm. "Alright Lynx, here's test one, dodge, block, and attack while avoiding the arrows." Lynx rolled to the side as a blunted arrow whistled past his ear, snapping in into fragments when it hit the ground. The Captain dove at Lynx and swung his sword in an ark, and smacked the hilt into Lynx's gut, causing Lynx to grunt in pain as he reared back. Another arrow came speeding past Lynx, making him flinch. Flashstorm laughed at him.
"C'mon Seargent, light on your feet!"
Lynx growled then lept forward, dodging an arrow and sliding underneath Night Striker, jabbing his stomach. The Captain jumped then was caught in the side of the face with a arrow. Shaking his head, the captain spun around to face Lynx, only to find him grabbing his horn, kicking his legs from under him, and put his sword at the Captain's throat. Lynx smiled.
"So Captain, i think i can handle myself and Celestia's student." Lynx released the captain. Night striker looked at Lynx, grinning.
"So i see...Cadet." Lynx's eyes widened. Memories of basic training rushed back into his mind.
"You...aren't...sending me back to..."
The Captain grinned even wider. "Yup. You guessed it Cadet, you are going BACK to baisic training in a couple months so you better sharpen up your skills." The Captain looked at his troop.
"TROOP ATTEN-HUH!" The phoenix guard quickly went to attention. The Captain looked at them with cold eyes. "DIS-MISSED!" With that, they all left, leaving Night Striker, Lynx, and Flashstorm in the training ground.
Flashstorm walked up to Lynx, standing by Night Striker. "You see Cadet, Night Striker here is getting a promotion to Colonel and he is leaving command of Phoenix guard to me. Now I need a trustworthy second in command and You seem like a good candidate. So we decided on sending you to the advanced officer training program."
Lynx had no words. Only a dropped jaw and a thought in his head exsisted. That is untill a Solar Guard landed in the Training grounds. Lynx turned towards him. The Solar Guard looked at Lynx.
"Are you Seargent Lynx Shadow?"
Lynx nodded.
"Good. Grab your stuff, Princess Celestia would like to speak with you."
Lynx looked at Night Striker. He nodded. "You're dismissed." Lynx saluted before grabbing his sword and flying away, towards the castle, where Celestia waited.

Wolf...really needs to shut up
Author's Note
So it has definitely been a while since I last updated, and I'm sorry about that. My computer finally met its end by hand of the virus. Well anyway, hope you like the new chapter and I'll see ya next time!
Oh, and Wolf's dialogue will be in green to make more sense in the story.
Wolf...really needs to shut up
Lynx quickly made his way through the castle, greeting solar and lunar guards along the way as he passed, and stopping to salute officers. Saluting rules were a bit different in the guard than the Army or the Air Force on earth. Here, you had to salute any officer that you saw inside or outside. That wouldn't be so bad on a normal day in the castle, but today a promotion ceremony was held and the senior officers were showing the new 2nd Lieutenants their jobs and around the castle.
Seeing how there were plenty of office jobs available in the castle and no pony willing to take them, the Princess thought that it was a grand idea that the equestrian guard should fill in those positions. Only the officers though. After all, office is in their classification, is it not?
Lynx sighed as he gave up running through the castle and began a slow, but brisk, walk to keep up with the waves of officers he had to salute. Seeing another pair of officers walking in his direction, he stopped, stood at attention, saluted, and said:
"Good afternoon sir!"
The two officers stopped. One officer was a light green unicorn with jet black, shaggy hair with amber eyes, bearing a set of gold armor with the rank of a 2nd Lieutenant.
'Weird eh Lynx? They haven't taken his colors yet…'
The other officer was a white earth pony with blue hair that came down to the start of his neck. He had icy blue eyes and bore a gold set of armor with a 1st Lieutenant rank on it. On his side, hung a purple amythest dagger in a leather sheath. More than anything though, the officer hated the enlisted. Case in point: Lynx.
The 1st LT. smiled evily. The new officer went to salute Lynx back, and let both parties continue with their duties, but the senior officer had other plans, as he stopped the 2LT's hoof from coming up. Lynx gulped and continued to hold his salute.
'Just remember Lynx, keep your cool...'
'but he's as bad as blueblood!'
'And you won't let me remember that one memory!'
'Shut up wolf.'
"Ah yes, perfect. LT. Glistening Stone, this is a Seargent. You can usually tell by the lack of superior performance and bars." Lynx winced a little. Wolf laughed in Lynx's head.
'Crystal would so kick his ass for saying that.'
The 1st. LT continued. "Seargent First Class and below are at your beck and call, and you can get them demoted for not following your orders."
'Bullshit!'
"They are just our petty slaves in a general sense." Lynx clenched his fist tightly. Lynx didn't know if he could hold his salute for much longer. The urge to resist throwing this asshole and launch him out of the nearby window was extremely painfull. The 1st Lieutenant continued.
"Watch and learn. Seargent Shadow..."
Somewhere down the hall behind them, a familiar guard's voice called out,
"Stop right there, 1st Lieutenant! Seargent, at ease!" Lynx smiled as the officers in front of him stiffened and saluted, while he relaxed. Captain Night Striker strolled up next to Lynx, glareing at the Lieutenant with his feirce amber eyes. The 1st. Lieutenant visibly gulped. Lynx grinned slightly.
"G-Good afternoon C-Captain..." The 1st Lieutenant shakily said, not dropping his salute. The Captain growled.
"What is the meaning of this Lieutenant?! Teaching the new officers bad habits, and insulting fellow guards!" Lynx shook his head at the Lieutenant teasingly. The furious Captain continued. "Do that to the privates as you wish, but a Seargent!? Are you bucking kidding me?!" The Lieutenant was shaking slightly.
Lynx knew full well why. Nobody pisses off Night Striker. So, the Lt. came up with a dumb ass answer.
"But sir, they do rank lower than we do, so why show them any respect?" Lynx gave a low whistle. The Captain's gaze intensified.
'bad move LT...' Wolf whispered in Lynx's head. Lynx agreed with Wolf.
The new officer looked at the Lieutenant in suprise and anger. Time was ticking. Lynx cleared his throat.
"Well...Captain i would like to let you handle this one, i have to go meet the princess." The Captain nodded as the 2nd Lieutenant turned to Lynx and saluted.
"Sorry about this Seargent, this may be my first day, but even I know that the enlisted deserve respect."
Lynx smiled and returned the salute.
"Thank you Lieutenant." The 2nd Lieutenant nodded and they both dropped their salutes and Lynx sped away towards the throne room.
Even as Lynx made it to the throne room, he could hear Night Striker yelling. The officers at the throne room door were much more friendly. Lynx nodded to them, and saluted as they opened the throne room doors.
"Afternoon Seargent, any idea why Captain Striker is yelling?" A white guardspony with grey shadow armor holding the door open for him asked. Lynx shook his head.
"Lt. Silver Bit just insulted me, and all of the enlisted rank." The guardspony raised a brow.
"I'm sorry to hear that, i will personally give him a piece of my mind as well."
Lynx smiled. "Thank you, Have a good day."
"And you as well."
With that, Lynx walked into the throne room and bowed deeply before Celestia, just to piss her off. She gave Lynx a dissaproving sigh as she shook her head at him in annoyance.
"Rise. Guards, you are dismissed."
Her two personal guards at her side nodded and then left the room, leaving Celestia and Lynx alone. Celestia got up off her throne and walked up to Lynx. Her magenta colored eyes were tinged with slight annoyance.
"I thought i told you that you don't need to bow to me?" Celestia scolded. Lynx smiled and shrugged.
"Well...Tia, i am a guard, would you like me to salute you instead?" Celestia sighed.
"....No."
'We should kiss her.' Wolf randomly said, making Lynx slightly uncomfortable about how close he was to the princess. Her muzzle was just inches away, and it looked ever so inviting...Lynx quickly removed that thought from his head and spoke.
"So, Princess, why did you need to see me?" Celestia didn't answer as she walked over to one of the giant windows and sat, while Lynx took the chance to sit down, his mind wandering as she observed the weather outside with unsure eyes. Celestia turned to face him, waving her hoof, putting him at ease.
"I have a favor to ask you." Lynx looked at her with his narrowed and unsure, dark brown eyes. Celestia's favors normally were pretty bad for Lynx, but he never complained. She was the boss here after all.
"Ok..."
Celestia shifted her hooves nervously, her eyes looking at the floor. Lynx gulped.
'Wait...she acted like this before...'
'Yeah and then you got laid.'
'Shut up Wolf.'
'But it's true!'
Before Lynx could tell wolf to shut up again, Celestia spoke.
"I need you to go to the gala."
'Ah HELL NAH!' Wolf and Lynx thought simultaneously as Lynx shook his head quickly at Celestia. All of the guards hated the gala. It basically was a graveyard shift with uptight and stuck up royals coming together to discuss business propositions, get into fights, make enemies, and see how much the guards stationed there could handle. Lynx had already been assigned once before, but never again.
"Sorry, but hell no. C'mon Tia, you know how much i hate guard duty there!"
Celestia countered.
"Except, this time, you will be not be on guard duty. I have sent Twilight six tickets for her and each of her friends. So, you should go with them, have fun for once!"
Lynx sighed. "But..."
Celestia cut him off. She looked at Lynx dead in the eye.
"However, there is a catch. We have had reports of a rumor that somepony will try and hurt my sister."
"Ok...but why me? Why not Night Striker, or your guards, or somepony else?"
Celestia grinned. "Because i said so."
Lynx growled. Wolf laughed in Lynx's head.
'Ooh the mother card...kudos to you celly....'
"So we're playing it this way huh? I'll remember that. The answer is still no."
Then Lynx bowed, and headed towards the throne room doors. Celestia smiled as she used her trump card.
"Come on, after all, i heard Captain Spitfire will be there...." Lynx's eyes bulged and he stopped. Turning around, he was met with Celestia's checkmate grin.
'Damnit.'
'Oooh....she got you good.'
'Oh fuck off.'
'Make me.' Lynx shook his head and threw his hands up in exasperation at both Wolf and Celestia.
"Ok, fine Celly. But only because Spitfire has been pressuring me to hang out with her."
Celestia grinned even wider. "Oh I'm sure that isn't the only reason..." Lynx blushed slightly.
"Later Celly." With that, Lynx rushed out the door and headed for ponyville, leaving Celestia to deal with her royal duties.
Apon Leaving the castle, Lynx was stopped by Flashstorm, who said a certain Lieutenant wanted to apologize. Lynx sighed.
'Damnit, this day just won't end!' Lynx thought.
Flying with Flashstorm, they caught up with Striker and 1st Lieutenant Silver Bit. Night Striker waved the two over.
"Afternoon Captain." Lynx and Flashstorm said in unision, saluting. Night Striker waved their salutes down. Then he faced lynx.
"Sorry to cut you off from leaving, but Silver Bit here owes you an apology."
Silver Bit stepped forward and saluted Lynx. "Seargent Shadow, I would personally like to a-" Lynx stopped him with an open palm. The ponies all raised an eyebrow.
"Look Silver, I am not who you should be apologizing to, you need to apologise to the all of enlisted ranks. I don't accept your apology untill you do so. That understood sir?"
Silver Bit lowered his head. "Yes Sgt."
"Good." Lynx turned to Night Striker, and saluted. "Permission to leave sir?" Night Striker nodded.
"Granted."
Lynx then turned to Flashstorm. "You want to head home with me or do you have things to do?"
Flashstorm shrugged.
"Sorry, i have to do some paperwork. I'll see you tomorrow in Ponyvile for morning PT."
Lynx nodded, then jumped, spead his wings, and began to ascend through the afternoon's orange sky, leaving Canterlot.
Lynx took a long deserved breath, and glided though the clouds, feeling the cool air rush through his feathers. Relaxing a bit, Lynx turned over and started to spin, tucking in his wings, making him spin faster, then he closed his eyes, and breathed in. Just about when he would hit the ground, he snapped open his eyes, opened his wings, and thrusted downwards with his wings, making him shoot upward through the sky, slightly grimacing, as his wings strained against the wind and pressure. Beating his wings to stay aloft, Lynx breathed in and out, calming the adrenaline rush that hit him. A voice behind him made it hype up again.
"I see that move i taught you is working for you."
Lynx whipped arround, instinctively pulling out the sword across his back. He found himself face to muzzle with a yellow pegasus with different shades of sunset orange hair. Her hair was slicked down, like she took a shower, reaching the bottom of her neck. Her eyes were a light orange, matching the colors of her body. She was looking a little irratated. Lynx's sword was mere inches away from piercing her stomach.
"Ya wanna put that sword away, Seargent?"
Lynx sighed and put his sword sliding back into his sheath.
"Ya scared the crap out of me Spits!"
Spitfire frowned. "Why did you have to give me that name..." Lynx smiled.
"Oh come on, you know you like it."
Spitfire hurrumphed. "What ever Seargent." Her eyes lit up again. "So...Celestia says that you're going to the gala...that true?" Lynx pouted.
"Yeah, but only beacause that's the only time i will be able to hang out with you."
Spitfire smiled. "About damn time." Lynx grinned and gave a mock look of suprise while covering his mouth.
"Oh...cussing in Uniform, Captain? My, My, My, off to the brig with ya!"
Spitfire rolled her eyes and slugged him in the shoulder. "Oh shut up. At least I'm not the one that's been abandoning his friends..." Lynx shrugged.
"Not my fault that i keep getting missions."
"You could deny them." Lynx snorted.
"No, princess' orders, and the fact that i would leave my Battle Buddy all alone too? We both know Soarin would kill me if i left him hanging."
Spitfire rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I still don't know how you two became such good friends."
Lynx smiled. "Combat and death changes peo- i mean ponies."
Spitfire nodded with a sad look in her eyes. "Well, i have to head back, they'll be looking for me."
Spitfire hovered and began to fly off, then hesitated and turned her head with a sultry look on her face. Lynx raised a brow. "Let me know when you are back in canterlot again, we could always hang out before the gala...perhaps do something a little more...exciting..." A seductive smile played on her lips as she flicked her tail to the side and wiggled her rump playfully. Lynx stared on with wide eyes. Lynx couldn't hide the heated rosy blush on his face as he gaped at the sight. Spitfire laughed and flew off, leaving a confused Lynx hovering in the sky.
"Uh..."
'She likes you Lynx. She wants to fuck.'
"No...I'm pretty sure she was just teasing..."
'You are so hopeless.' Lynx flew back on course to ponyvile. Light was fading fast.
"What do you mean I'm hopeless?" Lynx asked, performing a barrel roll, smashing a cloud to bits.
'Dude, she said lets do something more exciting and shook her ass with a seductive grin. How much more obvious can she get!?'
Lynx thought about this. He and Spitfire had been friends since baisic training. Celestia made the guard and wonderbolts take the same training to combine the two...(branches?)'s abilities, thus making the guard more experienced with airiel combat. Spitfire and Lynx had hung out from time to time, especially when Twilight was in heat, and Lynx had to stay someplace else for his own safety. Spitfire was always welcoming, of course she was demanding at times but hey, Lynx didn't care. As the years passed since basic, Lynx and Spitfire had less time to spend with each other, due to Spitfire' s duties as the wonderbolt's Captain, and with Soarin and Lynx getting more involved with Celestia's problems.
Lynx began to near ponyville as the last rays of sunlight began to fade away. Lynx landed swiftly onto the ground near Sugarcube corner. A few ponies greeted him as he walked through the town, heading to Twilight's. As he reached the door of the library, he found himself suddenly being dragged into the library by a purple aura. He was dragged right to the hooves of Twilight, who looked beyond pissed.
'You might want to play this cool Lynx...'
'No shit sherlock.'
Lynx gulped before speaking to the angry mare.
"H-hey...Twilight...how was your day?" Her eye twitched slightly as she glared at him with her lavender colored eyes. Lynx shifted his feet. She sighed and said sarcastically:
"Oh i don't know, how does getting abandoned by your best friend sound? Does that sound good?"
"I had-" Twilight cut him off. She paced back and forth, her tail flicking from side to side in aggravation.
"Or when all of your New friends fight over who gets a ticket to go to the gala, and they all have extremely good reasons to go, and you can only take one of them?"
"Twi-" Lynx started, only to get cut off. Again.
"Or when-"
"TWILIGHT!" Lynx shouted out. Twilight shut up. Lynx sighed. "Look, i haven't been having the best day either, but it worked out for you right?"
"Yes...we all got tickets to the gala." Twilight said with a slightly icy tone.
"Ok, so stop complaing, please." Lynx turned away from her and took his sword and sheath off of his back, and put it on one of the tables near the bookshelf. Lynx put his head down on the table to gather his thoughts. Twilight walked up next to him, still giving him a icy glare. Then she put a hoof to her chin in thought.
"Oh yeah, Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane said to meet them later on, they wanted to show you something." Lynx sighed. He looked outside the window. The moon was slowly rising.
"How much later?"
"Like in twenty minutes." Lynx groaned.
"ok. I'm taking a shower. Where do they want to meet?"
Twilight put a hoof to her chin again, more focused this time. "I think they said near Sugarcube corner, i am not totaly sure." Lynx nodded and before she could say anything else, Lynx headed towards the shower, ready to relax and cool off.
Refreshed after his shower, Lynx put his uniform back on and slipped the sheath on his back. Lynx flared his wings out, fitting them through the holes of his shirt.
'Damn. Shoulda grabbed some clothes when I was in canterlot...'
Walking out of the bathroom, he found Spike and Twilight in their beds, sleeping. Lynx smiled.
"Good...while the cat's away, the mice begin to play..."
'That was a horrible reference. Plus you said it wrong.'
Lynx ignored wolf as he walked out of the library, and shut the door behind him, heading down to sugarcube corner. Looking around apon arrival, Lynx didn't see his two pegasus buddies, so he decided to head inside of Sugarcube Corner and grab a bite to eat. Lynx was greeted with the mouth watering scent of many sweet aromas and cake batter. As he walked in, Lynx saw nopony, but a shift in the air warned that a certain pink pony would try and suprise him. Grinning, Lynx whipped around, catching the pink pony with his hands and yelling:
"Suprise!" Pinkie Pie fell backwards out of his grasp and laughed.
"Nice one Lynxy! You got me!" Lynx fist pumped the air. Looking at pinkie, he kneeled down and grinned.
"Eeyup. So you have any idea where Rainbow and Thunder are?" Pinkie Pie giggled.
"Of course silly, They're trying to sneak up on you!" Sure enough, lynx was tackled to the ground by a cyan blur. Lynx's face slammed into the floor, and he growled as a weight sat on his back, right between his wings, making him struggle to get up. 700 push ups really gets to you, so Lynx couldn't push up with his arms due to the added weight. Sighing, Lynx gave up and relaxed and the weight on his back lightened, and a lighter sensation went to his wings.
"So...when did you get these hm?" A triumphant Rainbow dash asked, as Lynx sat up, glaring at her. Thunderlane grinned widely at Lynx.
"Yeah i don't remember you having these 6 years ago..." Both Pegasi ran a hoof through Lynx's large wings, making him shiver at the touch. Glaring at the two, Lynx smacked the two in the muzzle with his wings and folded them up again.
"If you must know, Celestia and Twilight gave me these for my birthday." The two pegasi gasped.
Lynx smirked at their surprise. Rainbow Dash shook her head then grinned.
"Well I bet you can't use them as well as me!" Thunderlane rolled his eyes. Lynx smiled.
Rainbow Dash stepped closer to Lynx, flaring her wings out. Lynx raised a brow.
"Is that a challenge?"
Rainbow Dash smirked.
"So what if it is?" Lynx flared his wings, slightly hitting Pinkie Pie in the muzzle.
"Then i accept!" Thunderlane face palmed and Pinkie pie ushered all of them out, and pulled out popcorn out of no where, leaning on Thunderlane.
"Ooh this is going to be goooood!"
Thunderlane sighed.
"Sorry pinkie, but this little challenge is going to have to wait. Rainbow Dash, remember that promise we made?" Lynx raised a brow and Rainbow Dash cursed.
"Ah horsefeathers, you're right. C'mon Lynx!" Rainbow grabbed Lynx by the arm and rushed down the street, Thunderlane flying close by. Lynx wriggled out of Rainbow's grip and slowed down.
"The hell's up with you guys today?" Lynx asked looking at his two friends. Thunderlane rolled his eyes.
"Just follow us." Lynx sighed and followed the two, while looking around at the familiar scenery. A few seconds later, they stopped in front of a house that seemed extremely familiar to Lynx, but he couldn't place why. The two pegasi grinned.
"Look Familiar?" Rainbow Dash asked, gesturing at the house. Lynx thought hard but nothing rung a bell. Before Lynx could respond, a shadowy figure slowly decended down towards the group.
"He better, after all, he grew up here...."
When the figure finally landed and look Lynx in the eye, Lynx Gasped.
"L-Lightning!"
Lightning grinned as he approached Lynx and his friends. "Who else?"
Lynx shook his head as he brought his surrogate father into a mighty hug/tackle. The pegasus wheezed as the air escaped his lungs. Rapping his hoof on Lynx's shoulder quickly made Lynx let go of him and let him breathe.
"Sweet Celestia kid, you've gotten stronger! Ya almost killed me there!" Lightning said, coughing.
Lynx shrugged. "The guard kinda does that to people."
Lightning nodded. "So I see..." Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane nudged the older pegasus.
"So...can we eat, or are we going to spend the whole night out here?" Rainbow Dash asked with a smirk.
Lightning chuckled. "Always one for food eh Rainbow?"
Lynx's stomach growled. Scratching his head, Lynx laughed. "I dunno Lightning, I'm hungry too!"
The older pegasus grinned. "I see...but first...I do believe one of your very best friends has been waiting for you to come home for a long time..."
Lynx furrowed his brow. "But who-" A large smile crept up on Lynx's face as a furry, grey wolf bounded toward him.
"SCRUFFY!"

Twi! Celestia says to get a life! (Version 2)
It was a bright and sunny day as Lynx made his way to the observatory, where his friend Twilight, would most likely be reading or studying. His purple unicorn friend could never stay away from the books or her studies for more than a few minutes, unlike Lynx, the human who loved to run about and be active for most of the day.
Don't get me wrong, Lynx loved to read, but nothing like Twilight. Lynx pushed open the doors of the observatory to find Twilight in the middle of ranting/sending a letter to none other than Princess Celestia. Correction. Making Spike write a letter to Prncess Celestia. Lynx silently worked his way over to his favorite beanbag and laid down his royal guard's sword and sheath onto a nearby table and grabbed a novel to read until Twilight finished her speech/rant. Poor Spike had to keep up with the purple unicorn's fast paced rant about...Lynx listened in for a second...something about Nightmare Moon.
Spike had just finished writing the letter when Lynx piped up.
"Hey Twilight! Do you really think Celestia is going to believe all of that?" Twilight was startled by his sudden appearance, but then she just smirked and nodded as Spike sent the letter, torching the parchment in his green flames. Spike chuckled.
"I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you..."
Twilight just continued to smile at the two boys.
"I have complete and utter faith that the princess will take this matter seriously. She always had before." The two males' smiles faltered as Spike burped out a letter with the Princess' seal on it. Twilight gave them both a shit eating grin.
"Told you so!" Lynx hopped off of his beanbag and made his way over to Spike. The two boys read over the letter quickly in their heads. Spike laughed while Lynx grabbed his sword and sheath, cursing Celestia under his breath.
"Twi, the princess baisically says to get a life. She wants you, Spike, and I to go to Ponyvile to check if everything is ready for the summer sun celebration, and make some friends while we're at it. Spike can read the rest of the letter to you on the way there. I have to go back to the house and get my ranks..." Lynx was cut off by two white Pegasus guards entering the observatory. One them threw a pair of Sargent ranks at Lynx, who put them on, thanking the guard.
"Miss Twilight Sparkle, we have orders to escort you, Mr. Spike, and Sgt. Lynx Shadow to Ponyvile. The carriage is outside." The guard nodded at Lynx. "Sargent, we taught you how to use those wings, so put them to good use! Can you fly with your uniform and sword on?" Lynx sighed.
"Yes, Flashstorm." He replied to the white guards pony. Then he smiled at Twilight. "By the way, thank you and Celestia for these awesome wings." Lynx flared his giant dark blue wings, they were easily the size of Celestia's own wings, so that they could lift the 5 foot 6 human.
Twilight smiled back at him.
"No problem." Then they all headed out to Ponyvile.
The flight to Ponyvile was very uneventful to Lynx, so he did little aerial tricks and stunts here and there, entertaining Twilight and the royal guards while Spike read the letter out loud. Soon enough, they landed in Ponyvile where the small town was bustling with ponies going around, making preparations for the celebration later on that night. A few ponies stopped to gape at what they saw. Lynx nodded to those who stopped and kept walking, Twilight by his side. She looked at Lynx curiously. Lynx looked at her.
"Hey Twi, can I trust you to not end up dying? I'm pretty tired and I need to scope out the library that we'll be staying at for the time being." Twilight's shoulders sagged. She looked up at Lynx with giant purple puppy dog eyes.
"B-but you know how bad I am around ponies I don't know...can you please stay with me?" Lynx sighed. He had to resist, he had to...
"No...But I'll stay with you tonight. How about that?" Twilight still looked unsatisfied, but nodded in defeat. They spit up, heading in different directions. Spike and Twilight heading to Sweet apple Acers, and Lynx to Golden Oaks library.
Lynx wandered the streets aimlessly, not finding the library and about to give up and sleep on the ground when a familiar masculine voice rang out;
"H-hey! Lynx! Dude, is that you?" Lynx smiled as a black Pegasus with a light blue and white Mohawk walked up to him with an unbelieving kind of look on his face. With a gaping mouth, the black Pegasus inspected Lynx up and down. After a few seconds, the black Pegasus finished and walked alongside Lynx, who just chuckled.
"Hey Thunderlane! What's it been? Six? Seven years?" Thunderlane laughed.
"Yeah...so how have you been? Judging from your rank, you seem to be doing pretty good in the Royal Guard."
"Yeah...hey Thunder, do you know where the library is? We can catch up later, I'm really tired."
"Yeah...its Right there, I have to go, I'll see you later ok?"
"See ya! Say hi to Cloudchaser for me!" Lynx smirked as he said that.
"Will do! And it's nice to know that you're not dead!" And with that, Thunderlane took off, flying away to help out with preparations. Lynx was getting more tired as each minute passed. Lynx entered the giant tree library and headed up the stairs to a small bedroom. Sighing, he slumped onto the bed, cushioning his fall. He closed his eyes, letting his body relax, and his dreams overtake his mind.
(Meanwhile...)
Twilight had had enough. She had been run over by Apple Jack's family, tackled by Rainbow Dash, then she ruined her hair, got her wet, then messed up her mane even more, then Rarity put her into a million different outfits, AND NOW she had to deal with the butter Pegasus who wanted to spend, EVERY SINGLE MOMENT with Spike and she WOULDN'T leave until she had heard it all! Apon seeing the library, Twilight quickening her pace so she could tell Lynx all about her crazy day and finally have some peace and quiet. Spike finally finished his whole life story. Then he piped up;
"So do you want to hear about TODAY?" After hearing that, Twilight spun around.
"Hey! Would you look at the time? We've been walking around all day, and poor little spikie wikie needs his sleep!"
"Hey, no I do-" Twilight flailed her back legs, making Spike fall off. Twilight gave a look of mock surprise and concern.
"See, he's so tired he can't even sit right!" Fluttershy put her hooves to her face and gasped.
"You're right, i'll take him to hi bed-" Twilight stopped her and grabbed Spike and slammed the door on Fluttershy, leaving her and Spike in the darkness of the library.
"That was really rude Twi."
"Well I have to convince the princess that Nightmare moon is going to escape, so I need to study, and I can't do that with a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time! Now where's the light?" The lights suddenly came on and a loud chorus of "SURPRISE!" was heard. Twilight had made up her mind. She was DONE with today. Walking to the refreshment table, Twilight was ambushed by a super hyper active pink earth pony whom Twilight completely ignored.
"HI!MYNAMESPINKIEPIEBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH...." Twilight unknowingly poured a cup of hot sauce and drank it while Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Apple Jack watched. Twilight felt a burning sensation in her mouth. She suddenly erupted in a plume of flames and ran to the library's bedroom was. Sadly, Lynx was still there, sleeping, so Twilight looked out of the window at the moon. Four glowing stars seemed to be moving closer to the moon.
"I hope the princess was right, otherwise Nightmare moon will put us into an everlasting night." Spike entered the bedroom. He had a lamp shade on his head.
"Hey Twilight, we have to leave soon or we'll miss the summer sun celebration!" Then the baby drake left. Light snoring was heard from Lynx as he slept, lost in his dreams. Twilight levitated him off of the bed, dropping him from three feet in the air. Lynx awoke to pain and a grinning Twilight. "Wakie, wakie. You have a promise to fulfill..."
Lynx cursed. "Ok, ok. Geez Sparky! Didja have to drop me?" Twilight giggled. She walked out of the bedroom, her tail motioning for Lynx to do the same. Lynx followed drowsily.
They finally made it to town hall, and boy, was it packed. Twilight and Lynx waded rough the crowd of ponies together but a solar guard noticed Lynx and called him over. Lynx gave a sheepish grin to Twilight who just rolled her eyes and dismissed him with a hoof. Lynx made his way around the edge of the crowd, getting some "Hey Lynx!"s along the way. Just as he made it over to the small group of guards, Mayor Mare spoke.
"Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyvile, It is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer sun celebration!" The crowd gave a loud cheer. Lynx and Twilight both looked at the full moon. The dark shadow of the nightmare had disappeared. Then the mayor continued. "In just a few moments, our town will be the first to witness the magic of the sunrise and celebrate today, the longest day of the year! It is my great honor to introduce to you the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon every day, Princess Celestia!"
Fluttershy's birds sang and Rarity pulled back the curtains to reveal...nothing. The ponies started to freak out, and the mayor tried to calm them. The guards looked around furiously. Lynx's eyes widened at the thought that Twilight was right, and he commanded the guards to come back over to him and get ready. Suddenly, a dark, wispy, purple mist arose from the podium, causing everypony to gasp.
A dark, black, Alicorn appeared from the mist. Lynx and the guards cursed, Spike fainted, and Twilight hung her head low.
"Oh no...Nightmare Moon..." Nightmare moon smiled as she looked around.
"Oh my little addled subjects. It has been so long since I have seen your precious, pathetic little faces." The dark Alicorn said in a evilish tone. A rainbow maned mare yelled out in the crowd;
"What have you done with our Princess?!" A mare with a Stetson had to hold the Pegasus back by the tail.
"Woah nelly!" The mare muttered. The dark Alicorn cackled with sinister laughter.
"What, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?" A pink earth pony piped up excitedly, rattling off random names until the Stetson wearing mare stuffed an apple in her mouth. The dark Alicorn shook her head in disappointment. "After a thousand years of imprisonment, no one remembers me. Did you not hear the legends? Did you not see the signs?!" A purple pony in the crowd cut in.
"I did! And I know who you are. You're the mare in the moon! Nightmare Moon." The crowd gasped. Lynx facepalmed at the ponies' stupidity.
'Ok for one, she is not intimidating. And two, come on! It was obvious!'
The dark Alicorn raised a brow. "Well well well, it looks like somepony remembers me. Then you know why I am here?!" Twilight faltered.
"You're here to...to...to..." Twilight gulped. Nightmare Moon cackled once more.
"Remember this day, little ponies, for it will be your last! From this moment forward, the night will last Forever!" Then She laughed heartily, and a dark wispy storm raged around her. Lynx drew his sword from his back. The solar guards readied themselves, for they had no swords.
"Ready? Three...two...one...Attack!" Lynx commanded, and the guards sprung into action, running at Nightmare Moon. Apparently, she had been expecting this, so she sent lightning down at the guards, shocking them, rendering them useless. Lynx however, had deflected the lightning bolt off of his sword. He took flight, ready to strike her down. He was so close, but her horn flashed, and her strong magic grasped Lynx in her telekinesis, making him stop mid air, sword in mid-strike. Lynx glared at Nightmare Moon. She smiled.
"Well well well, aren't you quite the catch? I believe you will make an excellent play toy." With that, the dark Alicorn transformed into a purple, wispy, smoke, and sped off, Lynx in tow. He was able to let out one last yell before he was whisked away, and that was;
"TWILIGHT! AVENGE MEEEEEE....." More than half of the crowd was stunned at the sight of Lynx Shadow, one human they never thought they would see again. Five mares in particular... Apple Jack's eyes widened, and she lost her grip on Rainbow Dash, saying;
"Sweet Celestia, was that..." Four other mares finished her sentence in unison.
"LYNX?!"
Shaking her head, Rainbow Dash quickly took to the skies, ready to chase after Lynx and Nightmare Moon, but neither of them was to be seen anywhere. Just as she was about to give up, when a familiar purple unicorn rushed off suspiciously. Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow.
'Where is she going to in such a hurry? Maybe I'll get the girls and follow her..."
"No...no...we have to go after Nightmare Moon-" The baby drake cried out his sleep before crashing back into his makeshift bed. Twilight covered him with a blanket as he slept soundly.
"You've been up all night, Spike. After all you are a baby dragon." Twilight made her way down the stairs and flung herself into the books, looking furiously for something. "Elements, elements, elements! How can I defeat nightmare moon if I don't have the elements of harmony?!" Twilight was about to look at another book when a familiar cyan Pegasus appeared in her face.
"And just what are the elements of harmony? And how did you know about what Nightmare moon was planning? and just what are you to Lynx? ARE YOU A SPY?-WAA!" Applejack pulled on the rainbow maned mare's tail, pulling hard on it, making her sit.
"She aint no spy rainbow, but...she knows what's going on don'tcha Twilight?" Twilight nodded.
"I read about all of the signs about her return and some mysterious objects called the elements of harmony are the only things that can stop her. Only thing is, I don't know where they are... or what they even do."
"The elements of harmony, a reference guide." Pinkie Pie read aloud. Twilight knocked Pinkie Pie out of the way.
"How did you find it?!"
"it was under Eeeeee!" Pinkie pie said in a sing songy voice, bouncing lightly on her hooves.
"Alright in the book it says..."
(In the castle of the two sisters...)
Lynx was bound to a king sized bed by his wrists and ankles with black leather straps, while a Dark Alicorn mare eyed him as she sent out a large purple mist to do her bidding. Once she was done with her purple mist, she sauntered over to Lynx with half lidded eyes. Lynx gulped audibly. He knew that look. When Twilight was in heat, Lynx had to deal with Twilight constantly trying to get in his pants. Luckily, he got away from her easily, since he had slipped a ring that cancelled magic, on her horn. But that was back then. Lynx didn't have a magic ring to stall Nightmare moon from getting in his pants. Probably wouldn't stop her anyway. The dark Alicorn climbed on Lynx, her marehood dripping something wet and warm onto Lynx's pants. She reached where his pants began. Her horn flashed and Lynx was wearing nothing. His clothes were across the big room far, far, away from Lynx's reach.
(Warning. The following contains content that is the reason this fic isn't rated teen.)
Lynx's now throbbing member stood at full staff, and he tried to plead with the dark Alicorn.
"Please don't...i'd rather die....please just kill me-ooooohhhh." Lynx's pleading came to a halt as Nightmare Moon licked the tip of his member, making him shudder in pleasure. then she proceeded to lick up, down, and around his member, making Lynx moan loudly, trying to resist, but what could he do?
(Ok, ok, I won't write a whole sex scene to torture you all...yet...)
Just as Nightmare began to "mount" him, the purple mist came in, crashing through the window, interrupting the dark Alicorn from taking Lynx's virginity. She got off and looked out of the window.
"Grrr those pesky fillies think they can defeat me? I'll show them!" She looked at Lynx, who was struggling against the leather bounds. She smiled wickedly. "Don't worry, I'll be back for you..."
"I hope not..." Lynx muttered. Then nightmare was gone. Lynx heard Twilight talking to other mares that he recognized instantly. Lynx struggled against the leather bounds. It was futile. Lynx lay there in defeat, when a familiar blazing phoenix flew into the room. The phoenix looked at Lynx with her head cocked to the side. Lynx had no idea what to do next. So he tried something new.
"Philomena! Get me out of this!" The phoenix didn't move. Lynx sighed. "Please?" The phoenix nodded and bit and clawed at the leather bounds. One of Lynx's arms was now free. Lynx urged on Philomena, who started to work at a faster pace. Lynx's other arm was free. But the process was taking too long. He tapped the wing of the phoenix, making the bird give him her complete, and undivided attention. Lynx motioned to where his clothes were.
"Philomena, can you grab that sword by my clothes- oh thanks!" The phoenix wasted no time flying over to Lynx's clothes, grabbing the sword, and slowly dragging it across the room to the side of the large bed where Lynx was bound. The bird looked at Lynx. The sword was too heavy for the bird to lift. Lynx leaned over and grabbed the sword, but crushing his member in the process. Lynx let out a pained whimper. Setting his sword down onto the bed, he laid in a fetal position for several minutes, holding his crotch and listening to Twilight saying something about how Nightmare moon could never destroy the elements of harmony. Then, a bright flash followed shortly after, making Lynx grab his sword and slice through the leather, forgetting about his pain. Freeing himself, he quickly put on his clothes and ran through the castle, sword at the ready, and phoenix by his side, only to find Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Celestia around a small dark blue Alicorn. They all were welcoming back Princess Luna, Celestia's sister. Smiling, Lynx sheathed his sword and slung it onto his back, and leaned against the door frame.
Philomena flew over to Celestia, making her look in Lynx's direction, looking confused. Luna looked at him with a large blush present on her face. Celestia spoke first.
"Lynx! Where have you been?" The girls whipped around at the mention of Lynx's name. Twilight smiled and teleported behind Lynx, then tackled him to the ground in a hug. Lynx smiled as he threw her up in the air and caught her, hugging her that way.
"Y'know Twi, if you wanted a hug, you could have just asked."
"T-then c-can i have one too?" A shy butter cream Pegasus asked, walking over to Lynx with pleading eyes. Lynx smiled. He set Twilight down, and swiftly grabbed Fluttershy and Pinkie pie and wrapped them both in a tight embrace.
"Course ya can Flutters! And hey pinkie pie?" The pink earth pony in his arms looked at Lynx. Lynx put on a serious face, like they made him do in the guard. "I know you know what happened to me, and I want you to pinkie promise not to tell ANYONE, ok?" Pinkie Pie nodded before leaping out of Lynx's arms and doing a pinkie promise. Then Lynx put Fluttershy down and made his way to Rarity, AJ, and Rainbow Dash. They backed away as soon as Lynx came close to them and Twilight piped up.
"Hey Lynx? How does everypony seem to know you?" Lynx rubbed the back of his head. Then he grabbed Rarity and AJ and brought them into a warm embrace, as Rainbow Dash flew across the room, away from Lynx's reach.
"It's a long story, I'll tell you later. I think we should all celebrate the return of Celestia's sister, Princess Luna!"
(And so they did. And Twilight decided to stay in Ponyvile, and Celestia made Lynx stay as well.)
"Still can't believe she made me stay here..." Lynx groaned as he held a cyan Pegasus in his arms, walking with Twilight and his friends. Rainbow Dash looked up at Lynx with hurt in her magenta eyes. The other mares did the same. AJ was about to say something when Thunderlane landed in front of lynx.
"What, are you too good for Ponyvile now?" Thunderlane asked sarcastically. Lynx rolled his eyes.
"No it's not that, its just all of my stuff is in canterlot. Including my guitar..." Everypony nodded in sympathy. Then Rainbow Dash's eyes lit up. She leapt out of Lynx's arms, and took off, but not before yelling out;
"It may not be your guitar, but I have something for you! Meet me at the library and keep Lynx's eyes closed, its a surprise!" Lynx and Thunderlane raised an eyebrow.
"Ok....? Well I guess you all are going to have to lead me to the library...." Lynx closed his eyes. Pinkie Pie giggled.
"We're already here silly!" Lynx face palmed then sat down. Twilight gave Lynx a few seconds before asking;
"So...it's later and you said you would tell me your story..." Lynx smiled.
"Fine. I'm not much of a story teller, but here goes..."
(13 years ago, in Colorado Springs, Colorado in a dark maroon jeep...)
It was a dark and stormy night, rain battered the broken windows, thunder clashed overhead, and lightning flashed. Lynx whimpered out of fear as the jeep slid to a stop, and the driver yelled into his phone;
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE THE WRONG KID!? I JUST MURDERED A FUCKING AIR FORCE COLONEL AND HIS WIFE IN FRONT OF THE DAMN KID!" Tears streamed down Lynx's cheeks as he remembered what happened. Soon enough, Lynx was bawling like a baby, as the driver continued to yell into his phone. "Fine. But you owe me. What do I do with the kid? Really? Okay but you're taking care of the body."
The man hung up and twisted around and looked at Lynx. Lynx wiped his tears away and glared at the man. The man sighed.
"Look kid, if it were up to me, I would let you go and live your life...but..." He pulled a silver Desert Eagle and aimed it at Lynx's head.
"Any thing you want to say before I blow your head off?" Lynx took a deep breath and then looked the man straight in the eye and...
Flipped the middle finger and said, "F-fuck y-you..." The man smiled.
"You got balls kid, you got balls."
(Present time)
"Wait, so you *gulp* died?" Thunderlane asked.
"Yeah."
"Dude I'm sorry."
"Well if hadn't died, I wouldn't be here."
"I guess..."
"Hey is rainbow here yet?"
"No. Keep your eyes closed Lynx." Twilight responded.
"Well can we at least go inside? It's getting cold."
"Sure, but continue with your story Lynx."
"ok."
Lynx awoke to the sound of chirping birds and voices. He didn't recognize the voices, but he opened his eyes and was met with a pair of golden amber eyes. The one looking at him was a...a...a horse? No too small to be a horse...so...a pony? Lynx was about to get up and pet the pony but then it opened it's mouth and spoke.
"Hey there...I don't know if you understand me or not but my name's Lightning Flash." Lightning Flash was a light green Pegasus with black and blond hair. On his flank was a lightning bolt with wings on it. Lynx's jaw dropped. He never knew that ponies could talk, or have wings either. 'Maybe i'm in some other universe or something.' Lynx sat up and held out his hand.
"Hi, my name's Lynx Shadow. Umm can you tell me where I am?"
The green Pegasus smiled.
"So you can understand me. Awesome! As for your question...well...you're in Equestria."
Lynx didn't know how to take this. 'wait a second, what if i'm dreaming?'
"Um...Lightning Flash?"
"Yes Lynx?"
"Can you like punch me in the arm so I know if i'm dreaming or not?"
"Are you sure? That would hurt you though!"
"That's kind of the point. Don't worry about me, I've been in fights before, I can take a hit. Please?????"
"Well if you're sure..." Lightning Flash reared back his fore hoof and punched Lynx in the arm. Hard. A jolt of pain made Lynx realize...he wasn't on earth anymore.
(a few hours later, Lynx and Lightning Flash made it back to his house in ponyvile. The two had discussed everything about each other and were still going at it when Lightning opened the door, and the smell of vegetable soup hit them both, making their mouths water, and stomachs to grumble.
"Light? Is that you?" Lightning Flash motioned for Lynx to sit on the living room couch and to stay quiet.
"Yes Rose. It's me. Where are you, I have something to discuss..." Lightning asked, trotting into the kitchen. Lynx took this chance to look around a bit. This house seemed like a decent size, the living room had a light tan sofa and a wooden coffee table. As far as Lynx could tell, there was really no Tv's or radios or anything of the sort. Lynx searched his pant's pockets for something to do. He grinned as he found his mp3 player and his headphones. He knew it would probably be charged, but he didn't expect it to be charging. It wasn't connected to a battery charger or electricity, so this stumped him. Lynx put in a ear bud and was about to start a song up when a voice spoke.
"Hi there." Lynx flinched before looking to his side. A light (Peach?)(Yellow?) pony with two shades of light magenta looked at him curiously. Her light green eyes looked uncertain, but curious, a the small human. She had a rose on her flank, and Lynx face palmed in his head as "Rose" spoke once more.
"Checking me out huh? Sorry, but..." Lightning Flash entered with three bowls balanced on his back and his spread out wings. She smiled. "...I'm taken." Lynx took a bowl of soup from Lightning's wing.
"Sorry I just..." Rose put out a hoof.
"I'm just messing with you. The name's Roseluck. What's yours?" Lynx shook her hoof, gripping his bowl tightly with his left hand.
"Lynx. Lynx Shadow." Roseluck looked at Lynx in confusion. Lynx sat down onto the couch.
"You sure don't look like a Lynx." Lynx laughed.
"Well you don't look like a rose."
"Touché. By the way, what....um....are you? I haven't seen anything like you before. Have you Light?" Lightning Flash shook his head. Lynx sighed.
'Guess there's no other humans then...'
"I am a human. I forget what the scientific term was." They nodded and began to eat once more. A loud knocking on the door startled them all. Lightning Flash opened the door and three armored ponies walked in, one of them holding a scroll, while the other two wielded swords. Lighting rushed back over to Roseluck, flaring his wings defensively. Seeing Lightning Flash do this, Lynx got into a boxer stance, raising his fists, ready to brawl. The guard in front ordered the other two to stand down.
"Relax, please. I am Captain Night Blitz, and I came to relay a message to the human." Apon hearing that he was a captain, Lynx gave a salute before asking;
"Sure thing, sir. What's the message?"
"To come outside. Somepony very important would like to speak with you." Lynx nodded before walking out of the house. He was met with a huge Pegasus/unicorn hybrid, and it looked like a female.
"Um...Miss?" She turned to look at him. She had a pure white coat with flowing pink hair, and her eyes were a light magenta color. She had a sun on her flank matching the one on her crest. 'What are those damn marks for?!' Lynx asked himself in his head. Apparently the pony could read minds so she responded out loud;
"Those are called cutie marks Lynx. They signify what a ponies' special talent is. For example, my talent is raising the sun and moon."
Lynx's jaw hung open. "Did you just read my mind?" She nodded.
"I have been for some time. I truly am sorry for what happened to you and your parents." Lynx started feeling the tears come back.
"It's...it's ok." Lynx wiped his face.
"How old are you Lynx?" Lynx cocked his head to the side.
"I just turned ten, why?" The white pony shook her head.
"Such a young age to die." She looked at him. "Tell me Lynx, how would you feel if I gave you citizenship, and had you go to school to continue your learning?" Lynx looked at her, confused.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"I would feel...what's the word...honored if you did. Just...who would I stay with? I've been told I have slight abandonment issues."
A voice from behind him said;
"Well if you would like, Roseluck and I could take you in. That is of course if Princess Celestia says it's ok." Lynx looked at Celestia pleadingly. It had only been a few hours since he first met them, and he was already liking them. Celestia nodded. Lynx stepped forward and hugged the princess. The guards rushed over to get him off, but Celestia halted them and wrapped her fore legs around lynx. Lynx was only 4 foot 8 so he came up to Celestia's chest. (She's what, like 7, 8 feet tall?) She smelled like lavender shampoo. Her coat felt like a giant stuffed animal. Lynx let go and she did the same.
"Thank you. Maybe I can actually have a life. When does school start?" Celestia smiled.
"Most colts and fillies would be dreading the day that they had to go to school, and you can't wait for it?" Lynx rubbed his head.
"Well I've always liked school. You get to meet new people...errr...ponies."
"Very well. School starts in a few weeks. I'll be keeping tabs on you...actually, how about this; I'm going to give you a magic journal that you can write about your day to me. I ask a minimum of two per week."
"Okay. Is the writing and reading in this world the same as English?" Celestia looked at him funny. He could feel her digging through his mind for English. Eventually, she nodded saying it was the same. Lynx yawned. It was late night, (NO he wasn't thirsty!) and Celestia left with her guards and leaving Lynx with Lightning and Rose. They all went back inside and ate their now cold soup. Lynx fell asleep on the couch, and Roseluck put him on her back and carried him to an unoccupied room with a spare bed.
(Present time)
Lynx asked;
"Is Rainbow here yet? If I keep my eyes closed any longer, I'm going to fall asleep." They all laughed.
"Try looking in your lap, Lynx." Lynx opened his eyes. In his lap was Rainbow dash with his dad's patrol cap on. It was all he had left of his father and when it had gone missing, he had gone on a rampage, searching everywhere. The rampage lasted two weeks until Celestia had made him calm down with magic. Lynx gently took the hat off of Rainbow's head, as if he thought it would disappear with one wrong move. A tear rolled down his cheek.
"Thank you. I've been looking for this everywhere. Ever since well i'll get to that." He put it on, remembering all of the good times he spent with his father.
"Uh Lynx? I have your music player too." Rainbow Dash held up his mp3 player and ear buds. Lynx grabbed them and brought Rainbow Dash close. She didn't resist for some reason. While he held her, he continued with his story.
(13 years earlier, that next day,)
"Hey Lynx! Wake up, Breakfast is ready!" A voice called out from the kitchen. Lynx shook his weariness away and walked into the living room where Lightning Flash and Celestia were talking.
"Mornin."
"Good morning Lynx."
"Hey bud."
Lynx walked into the kitchen where Roseluck was making...waffles.
"Morning Rose!" She turned with a plate stacked with waffles. She motioned to the coffee table in the living room. A bottle of syrup was waiting for him. Lynx sat down next to Lightning and dug in. When he was finished, Rose, Lightning, and Celestia were looking at him. He looked back in confusion.
"Something wrong?" Celestia shook her head.
"No I just wanted to let you know, you now have full citizenship and you should probably meet everyone in this town so they don't freak out." Lynx nodded.
"Sure, right after I do the dishes."
Rose shook her head. "No, you meeting the townsfolk is more important than the dishes. Go, i'll do them." Lynx was reluctant, but followed Celestia outside. They walked the town together, introducing Lynx to everypony. Lynx realized that these ponies were extremely accepting. Not one of them ran from him or anything and they were pretty friendly. Even when Celestia left, and Lynx kept meeting ponies they were still friendly. 'Guess it wasn't just an act. Or because of Celestia.' Lynx thought as he sat in the park, sitting against a tree, listening to music.
A black Pegasus colt walked up to lynx.
"Hi?"
"Hi."
"What's your name?"
"My name's Lynx. What's yours?"
"Mine's Thunderlane, everypony just calls me thunder. So what exactly are you?"
"I'm a human. I'm from another world." Thunderlane's eyes lit up.
"That's awesome!" Lynx nodded. "Could you tell me more about your world? Please?" Lynx smiled.
"Only if you can beat me in a race!" Lynx pointed to another tree across the park. Thunderlane flared his wings.
"Okay! Bet I can!"
"Then let's go!" Lynx sprinted off, while Thunderlane took to the skies, easily gliding first over to the tree. Lynx was only seconds behind.
"That's not fair! You used your wings!" Thunder laughed.
"You didn't say not to! So, about your world..." The two sat against the tree for hours, talking about anything that came to mind. Eventually, the skies began to darken and both of them had to go home. Lynx waved as Thunderlane took off, flying home. Lynx not having wings, walked through the streets of Ponyvile, trying to remember what Lightning Flash's house looked like. Lynx heard the light beating of wings and turned around. Lightning Flash hovered above him, grinning like a bandit.
"Looks like some human forgot his way ho-ome..." Lynx rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"Sorry..."
"It's ok. Just follow me. You actually just passed it. Easiest way to remember is that sugarcube corner is right across from it." Lightning gestured with his hoof. "See?" Lynx nodded and they made their way inside.
(First day of school in Equestria.)
"Rose, give the poor colt a break." Lightning Flash said, making waffles for all of them. Roseluck continued to ask Lynx endless amounts of questions and if he knew where the house was and other random stuff like it. While he was happy that she cared so much for him, it was getting annoying. Lynx gently put a finger to Roseluck's mouth, halting her.
"I second that Lightning. Rose, i'm going to be fine. Plus, Thunderlane has the same class as me and everything!" Rose sighed.
"I know, I just can't stop worrying." Lynx laughed. A knock sounded at the door. Lynx made his way to the door. He opened it to find an irritated Thunderlane. His fur had been groomed and his hair was laid low and fancy. Lynx laughed.
"Dude, what happened to you?"
"A case of the mom syndrome."
"I know the feeling. Hey how long until school starts?"
"Not very long. If we head out now, we should be able to make it in time."
"Anything to get me away from Roseluck. I'll be right back." Lynx went into the kitchen and said; "Hey me and Thunder are heading out. We'll just hold off on breakfast." Rose glared at him while Lightning Flash waved him off, telling him to have a good day. Lynx rushed out the door and they set off to the school.
It didn't take long to reach the school, and they still had a few minutes to spare. Lynx followed Thunderlane through the small hallways to their classroom. There were only a few ponies in the room, so Thunderlane and Lynx picked their seats right next to each other.
"You sure that we aren't just early Thunder?" Before he could respond, a orange filly with blonde hair responded;
"We're all early sugarcube. School doesn't start for another 30 minutes." Lynx and Thunderlane both groaned.
"Thunder, I think your mom lied to you again. I could have had Lightning's waffles..." A blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane awoke with a start, looking around franticly.
"Waffles? Where?" Lynx rolled his eyes and was about to respond with a sarcastic joke when Thunderlane put a hoof to his mouth. "What?"
"Try to avoid her as much as possible. She's a bully." Lynx looked at Thunderlane flatly.
"I think I'll be fine."
"She doesn't look like it, but rumor has it that before she dropped out of flight school, she broke the sound barrier and made this awesome rainbow trail." Lynx's eyes went huge.
On earth, the military had some jets that could break the sound barrier several times over, but the jets were made of metal and stuff to protect against the g-forces. His dad talked about it sometimes. There was no way that a pony Pegasus could go that fast without having their skin ripped off or something. And to have made a Rainbow out of it.
"No way..." Thunderlane nodded. Lynx looked back at the Pegasus. She had fallen asleep once more. Lynx turned back to Thunderlane, only to find him talking to a red coated colt. Lynx sat forward, and pulled out his mp3 player and put in an ear bud. A hoof tapped his shoulder before he could start a song. The pony who had done so, grabbed his headphones and mp3 player and simply walked away, like nothing happened. Growling, Lynx began to get up, but once again, Thunderlane stopped him. Lynx glared at him.
"What, lemme guess, that one has incredible strength and has a gang that can kick the shit out of me?" Thunderlane nodded.
"Pretty much. Plus that flight school drop out is part of that gang. It'll be so much easier to let them take your stuff." Lynx sighed. He knew he could tke he gang out easily, his dad had taught him how to fight, but yesterday Celestia had told him to be on his best behavior. Lynx slumped into his seat. But the "school bullies" weren't done yet. The brown colt from before came from behind and grabbed his hat.
Lynx had enough of this. He turned to the smiling colt that had his hat. The colt saw Lynx glaring at him, so he retreated to the back of the classroom, where his big earth pony buddies were. Lynx started after him. As he approached, the earth ponies seemed to notice him and stood in his way of the brown Pegasus colt, who was now listening to Lynx's music and wearing his dad's hat. Lynx growled at the earth ponies in front of him.
"I don't have a problem with you two yet, so why don't you move out of the way before I do." They laughed.
"More like you should just turn around and walk away before our gang bucks you up. Ain't that right Rainbow?" The blue Pegasus with rainbow colored mare from earlier sized up Lynx before nodding. Lynx smiled.
"Okay how about this? If I take on your whole gang, you give me my stuff back. So, what's it going to be? Right after school, in the play ground." The whole class gasped. The bullies nodded while the rainbow maned filly seemed to be having second thoughts.
"Okay you hairless ape, you better be there." Lynx walked back over to his seat with all eyes on him. Thunderlane and the orange mare from before looked at him with wild eyes.
"Are you outta your mind?!" Lynx looked at them calmly.
"No, I want my stuff back. Look. They took the only thing I have left of my father. My dead father that was murdered in front of me for no reason whatsoever." Their eyes widened. Apparently, he had been talking loud enough for the whole class to hear. The Pegasus filly from before walked up to him. She had tears in her magenta eyes. Lynx looked at her in confusion.
"I-i'm sorry... I can help you get your stuff back..."
"You sure? You don't have to, I fight my own battles. I can hold my own." She nodded.
"Honestly, i'm tired of them bulling everypony. Poor Fluttershy won't even come to school anymore." The orange mare from before looked at the cyan Pegasus.
"So that's what happened to Fluttershy? Why ah otta..." She looked at Lynx. "My name's AppleJack. I'll help you fight 'em." She held out a hoof. Lynx shook it.
"Name's Lynx." She looked like she was about to say something. "Yeah I know I don't look like one." He turned to the cyan filly.
"What's your name?"
She puffed out her chest before saying, "Name's Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in equestria."
"Sure...so this is my buddy, Thunderlane." Both of the fillies stared at him flatly.
"We know."
"Really?" Lynx looked at Thunderlane who rubbed the back of his head.
"I may have...um...caused a small explosion with the science stuff."
"Small? More like huge! You're lucky nobody got hurt. They had to cancel school for a few months until they repaired the school."
Lynx laughed. "Awesome!"
"I know right? It was blue and green and..." They stopped when the girls glared at them. Lynx and Thunder shut up. Then Rainbow Dash's eyes widened. She inclined her head, warning Lynx. Lynx turned around. The brown Pegasus colt from before held out Lynx's mp3 player and hat. Lynx took it then glared at the young colt.
"I can forgive you for this, but never touch my stuff again. Ok? Spread the word." The colt nodded before facing Rainbow Dash.
"Hey Rainbow, you comin?" Rainbow Dash shook her head.
"No. I'm leaving the gang." The colt's jaw dropped. "You all used to be fun to hang out with. Now you're all just stuck up little...mmph!" AJ stuck her hoof in Rainbow Dash's mouth. The colt got the idea and left, sulking. Rainbow spat out AJ's hoof.
"Good morning class!" A purple earth pony with a smiling sun on her rump said. "I'm miss Cheerilily and i'm your new teacher!"
(can't spell her name. sorry )
AJ and Rainbow took their seats behind Lynx and Thunderlane.
'This is gonna be a long day...' Lynx thought as the young teacher read the attendance.
(Afterschool)
The bell rang and all of the ponies raced out of the school, while Lynx, Thunder, AJ, and Rainbow Dash made their way to the playground where some thirteen colts stood waiting. Rainbow Dash tugged on Lynx's pants. he looked at her.
"You got your stuff back, so why not just forget about all of this?" Lynx sighed.
"It's their choice if they want to fight. I just came to make them stop taking other ponies' stuff. Ya don't have to stay with me you know."
"Yes we do, we're your friends."
"That's right sugarcube."
"Yup. I'm with you the whole way Lynx."
"Okay...Hey! So is this all of you?" Lynx said, asking the group. A big grey colt stepped up.
"Yeah. We came to teach you a lesson to not mess with us." Lynx looked at the group. There was four Pegasai, and nine earth ponies.
'Thank you Celestia. No unicorns. haven't met one yet and I don't even want to know what they can do to me.'
Lynx got into a boxer stance, fists up, while Rainbow dash and Thunderlane took to the air and AJ tensed up. The grey colt laughed.
"This is going to be easy." Then he ran up to Lynx, jumping in the air, getting ready to do some sort of flying kick. Lynx easily stepped to the side, then punched the grey colt hard in the muzzle.
"Stay down!" Lynx ordered the grey colt. The colt nodded, then Lynx turned around and was met with a punch to the gut. Lynx let out an "oof" then sent the green Pegasus that had attacked him, flying away with a powerful kick to the chest. looking over at AJ his eyes bulged as she sent two colts flying back with a...what would you call that? A buck? I dunno. Anyway, Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash were quickly sending colts run away with bruises they would remember. two colts ran at lynx, tackling him to the ground. Lynx repeatedly got punched in the face by a brown Pegasus sitting on his chest. Lynx's sight began to go blurry and somepony tackled the brown colt off of Lynx while Rainbow Dash and AJ helped Lynx up. Shaking his head, he realized that they were the only ones still at the playground. Thunderlane returned with the brown colt from earlier. Lynx wiped his nose. It wasn't broken thankfully. Lynx glared at the colt.
"So... are you going to stop bullying everypony?" The colt nodded. "So get the fuck out of here!" Lynx grabbed the Pegasus and flung him into the air, where the Pegasus flew off. Lynx turned away and looked at his new friends. They were all panting. Aj and Thunderlane seemed to have gotten out of it with out a scratch, while Rainbow Dash was bleeding from her nose and her right wing. Lynx's eyes widened.
"Oh damn. Rainbow? Can you still fly?" Rainbow Dash tried to flap her wings but cried out in pain. She shook her head. Lynx put her over his shoulder and looked at Aj and Thunder. "You two should head home. I got rainbow here. See ya tomorrow?" They both nodded before running or flying home. Lynx walked back to his house, cyan Pegasus in tow. "Hey rainbow, where's your house?"
"I ran away. I'm staying with a friend-ow!-until I decide to go back to Cloudsdale."
"Ok well i'll walk you back to your friends house when we get patched up. I hope Lightning and Rose won't be mad..."
It only took a few minutes for Lynx to reach his house. He cautiously opened the door, setting Rainbow Dash down. He was met with an angry looking Roseluck. She glared at Lynx. Lynx tried to smile at her to improve her mood, but it failed. She motioned for Rainbow Dash to follow her to the bathroom where most of the first aid was laid out. Lynx heard his name from the kitchen. Lightning Flash frowned at Lynx, leaning against the wall. Lynx shoved his hands in his pockets, avoiding Lightning's glare.
"Quite the bruises you have there Lynx. Mind explaining?"
"I got in a fight."
"Well at least you didn't lie. I thought Celestia told you to be on your best behavior?"
"She did. I was on my best behavior. But when that colt took my hat..." Lightning's glare intensified.
"All of that just for some Bucking hat?! What the hay Lynx?!" Lynx stared Lightning dead in the eye, giving his own glare from his golden, amber, eyes.
"Not just any damn hat Lightning! My dead Father's hat! The only thing I have left of him aside from his dog tags! Hell, I think that was a good enough reason! Plus! There was a whole gang of bullies who made lives horrible!" Lightning and Lynx stood there glaring at each other for a few minutes before giving in.
"Look, I understand that you had your reasons, it's just I don't want you to think that violence solves everything. From what you told me about your world, all violence did was buck you all over even worse each time." Lynx nodded.
"I'm sorry that I yelled at you, you were just looking out for me as usual." Lightning nodded.
"Ugh, just tell each other that you love each other and hug it out. Honestly, stallions, they're all the same." A irritated Roseluck said, Rainbow Dash agreeing.
"That's kind of...never mind. Love ya Lightning."
"Love ya too bud." And so they hugged.
"Hey, how did you guys even know about the fight?"
"It's a secret."
"Damn."
Then Lynx walked Rainbow Dash to her friend's home.
(Present time.)
"Not to interrupt or anything, but what does this have to do with the whole town knowing you?" Twilight asked, ditching her note pad.
Lynx, Fluttershy, Thunderlane, and Rainbow Dash cringed.
"Tell you what. I'll give you the short version. I have something to do."
(Six years earlier...)
The mayor of Ponyvile had called all of it's residents to discuss some of the new additions and problems. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Thunderlane were too busy being chased by a angry manticore to know this, so they led it right to all of the townsfolk, causing them to run away in panic and fear. Except for Lynx, who held his ground, protecting a small orange Pegasus filly with purple hair. The manticore barreled right into Lynx, making them both crash to the ground. The orange filly finally got the message and ran off, gaining the attention of the manticore. The manticore, (Y'know what? Let's call him Fred.) "Fred" began to run after the fleeing filly, and Lynx ran after "Fred". Before "Fred" could pounce on the filly, Lynx tackled him, holding him down while he punched "Fred" over and over again. "fred threw Lynx off, and lynx crashed hard on the ground, snapping his ribs. Fred gave him no chance to escape. Fred raked his claws down Lynx's chest, tearing open long gashes. Lynx cried out in pain, and Fred continued to rake his claws down Lynx's body, inflicting screams of pain from Lynx. Before Fred could sink his fangs into Lynx and finish him off, a bight flash was seen and Celestia and her guards appeared, attacking Fred. Fred, seeing that the guards could actually kill him, fled.
The residents of Ponyvile just watched in horror as Celestia rushed over to Lynx, who was bleeding out of so many gashes in his body, it wasn't even funny. Celestia teleported Lynx and herself away to a hospital in canterlot where they would successfully save lynx with medicine and Celestia's raw power. Did Ponyvile hear anything about him being alive? Nope.
(Present time.)
Twilight and Spike looked at him disbelievingly. Lynx sighed.
"You probably don't believe me huh? Well I have proof." Lynx took off his shirt and tank top making the mares blush as they looked at Lynx's toned body. Even though Lynx was a brown color, even that couldn't have hidden scars from injuries that bad. Yet there was nothing. Lynx grinned. "Nothing right? Well I asked Celestia to cloak my scars so it didn't horrify ponies. Rarity, Flutters, you might want to close your eyes." They didn't. "Your funeral then..." Lynx traced a crescent moon on his chest and...Rarity fainted. Everypony eles' eyes widened in horror. After a few minutes, Lynx traced the moon again, making it all appear normal.
"L-lynx...? H-how are you still...a-alive...?" Twilight shakily asked. Lynx shrugged.
"Ask Celestia. I haven't the slightest clue." Lynx put on his shirt, his hat, and grabbed his sword. "Now I have to do something real quick. I'll be right back." Lynx left the library and set off, gazing at the night sky.
