Ponyville? But... But- ... Ok. Fine. But what about you? ... You're staying? Ok then. I'll make sure he gets his education. Remember! This is about him. Not us. Okay. Bye." Sky angrily slammed down the phone on it's receiver.
Silver only stared in silence at his mother, who had just come off the phone with his dad, Cloud Striker. His mom, Sky Blitzer, didn't have anything to say to her 11 year old son, in fact, she was at a loss for words. But she eventually spoke up.
"Silver, dear... We're moving to Ponyville."
"Ponyville?" Silver questioned, confused.
"Yes. Ponyville. It's a nearby town and we're moving tonight. So go pack your things. I'll be with you in a minute. I just need to clear my head..."
"Mom, your not going to get the red bottle out of the fridge again, are you?"
Sky stared in shock at her son.
"Where'd you learn about... the red bottle?" she muttered, scared that her son had found her out.
"I saw you drinking from it after you finished talking to Dad last night. You looked mad."
Sky was at a loss for words once again. All she could manage was "Go pack your things, Silver", to which Silver obeyed. Much to her dismay, she did find herself in the fridge, hoof around the exact red bottle her son had mentioned. Tears began to stream down her face. She knew she was doing the wrong thing but... she couldn't help herself.
In Silver's room, he was already at work taking down posters and packing clothes into his bag. He didn't know why they were moving, but he wasn't about to question his mom. The last time he did that, she hit him over the head with a fly swatter. She was acting all funny that night.
Sky walked over to her son's room, and stood in the doorway. Silver held a picture in his hand, and was staring at it. She knew what the photo was of, Sky and Cloud at Cloud's last race. She was there too, but they must've taken it when she was in the restroom. Ready to break the ice, she said, humbly, "Your dad wasn't so bad you know Silver."
Silver recognized his mother's voice and threw the picture into his suitcase and continued packing. All the while, not looking at his mother.
His mother continued, "Then he got into racing... He was good at it too! And your good at racing too. It's just that, I don't like it when you race. I don't want you to end up like your father-"
"Why?" Silver interrupted. Not in his childish tone, but a deeper, more angry tone. "Why can't I be like Dad?!" He was practically shouting now.
Sky closed her eyes. She couldn't even bear to look at her son. She remembered the day Cloud came home and told her that he was having an affair with Rainbow Dash. She was heartbroken. That was the night she has started to drink. In her rage, she even kicked Cloud out the house and filed for a divorce. She got it and Cloud makes a monthly payments to her bank account for their son's education.
But she couldn't tell him that. So she just said "Pack your bags, Silver".
Within an hour, they were at the Canterlot station. Silver was distraught and far away. He couldn't concentrate on anything. He wished his mother would let him tell his friends good-bye, but they had to leave at that very time, and he still didn't know why.
They were on the train faster than he expected. Silver put his head on his mother's chest. She pulled him closer and embraced him as they both sat there in silence. Waiting for their destination.
At Ponyville, Silver had finally brightened up when he saw the town. It was small, but it had lots of ponies walking about. He finally smiled when he saw children playing on a playground. He cheerfully asked his mom to go play with them, and she reluctantly agreed.
Silver ran down to the playground and introduced himself to the first person he saw, a filly about his size. She had a bright purple mane, and freckles just like him. He said, cheerfully, "Hi! My name is Silver Lining! I'm new here!" The little filly, a little stunned by his sudden introduction, finally found herself and shook his outstretched hoof, saying "My name is Crystal Gem. Nice to meet you."
Before he could continue the conversation with the cute filly, he was hit beside his head with a blinding force. He could barely stand up after that blow. He looked to his left, where the blow had come from, to locate the source of the blow. What he saw was a brown filly with a stick in his hand and a red mane.
"Leave my girlfriend alone, jerk."
It wasn't long before he erupted in tears and ran to his mother, who was at the ticket booth signing a paper and shouting at the man there. "I'm telling you, I paid already-" She lost her voice when she saw her son with the red, bloody mark on the side of his face.
She threw a few dollars at thee man behind the counter and ran to their home, which wasn't far from the place they had just exited the train. Unlocking the door, and sitting him down on the couch in their living room, she quickly trot to her suitcase to get her first aid kit.
Within minutes, Silver's face wasn't as bloody as before, and he had finally regain his balance. He wasn't knocked out, and his mother checked his face for broken bones. There were none.
After all this, she had finally asked "How did this happen?"
Silver was reluctant to answer, but eventually did.
"I- I got in a fight..."
Author's Note
Oh wow! Ok!
Here we are first chapter. x3
That was mighty interesting was it not? I mean, the climax, the background, enough family trauma to fuck up anyone's childhood. That was great!
At least, I think so. :P
