Magicae

I walked back into the city with a lot on my mind that night. Jinx being most, if not all of what I could think about. It was a lot to take in. She seemed like a kind, shy mare but, there was a lot more to her. She had been though a lot and all she wanted was to start over. I was the one who made her relive what she wanted to forget. I'm so stupid I should have left it alone she had her reasons and they where good enough. Then there was the kiss. What did it mean? Was it her way of thanking me or, did it mean more? Did I want it to mean more? No brain were just friends. If she did want to be more she would have said something right? why are mares so complicated. I took a long deep breath and calmed myself down.

Theses question were in my head the whole walk home. When I did make it home I was surprised to see Dusty there. He was sitting on the couch reading a book.

“Dusty I thought you would be at work tonight?”

“I was but, the pony I was covering for showed. How did I make it home before you? does jinx really live that far away?”

“Not really but, we walked and talked so, it took longer than it should have. What are you reading?”

“The book you were talking about today. You weren't kidding this is a really good book. I would love to meet the pony who made wrote this.”

“You already have.” I muttered.

“What was that?” He asked.

“I….I said, maybe one day you will.” That was close. Letting that slip out would be really bad.

“What's she like?”

“Well when I started the interview she was very shy and nervous but, once she got more comfortable and relaxed around me. We had a good time and she seemed like a nice mare.

“The shy type huh. That's more your speed. I was hoping for her to be this mare that takes nothing from nopony.”

“So, you want a mare that takes control?” I asked.

“A mare in control is sexy!” He stated as if it was a fact.

“I can kinda see it but, thats not for me.”

“Your loss bro.” He said as he continued reading.

I walked over to my room. It was the first door on the left of the living room. When I walked in I tossed my saddlebags on the floor. I could put my stuff up later. I layed in my bed and closed my eyes trying to clear my head but, Jinx kept coming to the foreground of my mind. It took a couple hours for sleep to finally overtake me.

The Next day

The morning went as it always did, for me at least. Dusty was not a morning pony. He was used to getting up later on in the day due to him working at night. I tried shaking him but, he was a heavy sleeper. So I pushed harder causing him to fell off the bed landing on the floor hard.

“Why did you do that?” He mumbled still half asleep.

“Because, you need to get up we have things to do.”

“Why cant you do it and let me sleep?” He pleaded.

“Because you said you were coming.” I was starting to get annoyed.

“I lied.” He stated but, before I could continue there was a knock at the door.

“Ill get the door but, if you not up by the time I get back, im going to use my magic.” His eyes instantly shoot open and got to his hooves.

“I'm up! Theres no need for you to use magic.” He stated as he stretched out his front and back hooves.

“Good.” I headed to the door and upon opening it I was greeted by snow.

“Good morning snow. I see your up early as always.”

“Yup. I just finished my morning drills.” Snow always got up early to do drills. He told me there was two reasons for it. The first being that it helped him stay in shape. The second was that he was thinking about joining the royal guard.

“Come in, we're waiting on Dusty right now. You know hes not a morning pony.” I let him in and we sat on the couch in the living room.

“Dusty don't take all morning!” I yelled from the living room.

“Dont rush me! You know I hate mornings.” Was the response I received.

“While we're waiting on Dusty you want to tell me what happen after I left yesterday?”

“ Nothing really. We walked around the city talking. Then we walked Dusty halfway to work and by that time it was pretty late so, I walked jinx home.”

“Did anything happen when you walked her home?” He said with a suggestive look on his face.

“What do you mean?” I knew what he meant but, playing innocent couldn't hurt.

“Well lets see, ~ you and a pretty mare alone on a late night stroll back to her house. The moon out.~”

“I get the idea.” I said before he got into more detail.

“Im just saying it would be a waste of a perfect setting for you not to make a move.” He said as he winked at me.

“No I did not make a move. We just met and I don't know anything about her.” Why was I so defensive all of a sudden. Maybe it was the fact that a lot happened last night and I'm still not sure what to think of it all.

“So what did you two talk about while you walked.” Dusty asked as he walked in from his room.

“Nothing really, we just talked more about where she came from.” I wasn't lying. That is all we talked about. I just didn't want to give them anymore details.

“Are you sure that's all that happened?” Snow asked raising an eyebrow. looking directly into my eyes. I fidgeted a little.

“Yes, that's all that happened.” I said trying to keep a level tone.

“Can I ask why nothing else happened?” Dusty asked. “She seems like the type of mare you'd go for.”

“What kind of question is that?!” I yelled. When did they become so interested in who I dated?

“Thats the kind of question you ask when your friend had the right moment to make a move and didn't.” Dusty sounded annoyed. “Besides she told you more about herself right? what more do you need to ask her out? Is she not attractive to you?”

“what? how can you say that shes a very beautiful mare.” Did I really just say that out loud?

“Then what's the problem?” They said simultaneously.

I didn't answer that question for the simple fact that I couldn't. I really needed to figure this out on my own and Snow and Dusty asking all these questions wasn't helping.

“Look Magis, all im saying is that you don't want to wait too long and she ends up putting you in the friend zone.” Dusty made a pretty good point.

I sighed. “The truth is I don't know how I feel about her yet and I don't like rushing into anything. So for now I would like to stay friends.” They seemed to accept that answer.

“Dusty are you ready to go?” Snow asked.

“Yep all set. Lets get going don't want Jinx to think we're not coming.” Dusty said and we headed out.

JINX

I was woken up by a crashing sound outside my home. I quickly ran to my front door opening it. Most of my front yard was covered in dirt as I continued to look over the mass that was now my yard. I saw a small crater. I slowly walked up to the crater, my heart pounding in my chest as I get a look of what caused the it. Thats when I saw a stallion laying in the center of it. I quickly run up to him. The first thing I did was check to see if he was still breathing and thank Celestia he was. He had scars all over his body. I noticed the blood coming from a deep cut on his foreleg. His wing also had small cuts on it. Wait wheres his other wing. I quickly tuned him over looking for the other wing but, nothing was there. I could feel myself getting sick but, I had to be strong If he was going to survive.

I quickly lifted him on my back. That was not my best idea. He was heavy but, I was able to get him in my home using my wings to make him lighter for me to carry. I was not able to carry him more than past my second set of doors. I looked him over and notice that he was losing lots of blood at an alarming rate from the cut on his foreleg. The blood that lead from the crater to my front door give that away. I had to find something to stop the bleeding. I flew to my bathroom hoping there was something I could use. I was in luck there was a first-aid kit. I opened it and found what I was looking for. I ran back to the stallion with the bandages and my hoof. I sat down and began to wrap his foreleg. When I finished I made sure he was still breathing. He was but, I had no idea what to do next. I needed help but, the city was too far away for me to carry him and If I left to go get help he might bleed out before I got back because I still don't know my way around. There is nothing I can do to keep him alive. This pony was going to die and there was nothing I could do. I was utterly useless. Everypony in my village was right about me. Hot tears started falling from my eyes.

Suddenly I heard a voices in the distance. I ran outside and saw Magis, Snow, and Dusty heading towards me. It took them a few seconds to get to me.

“Jinx we saw something falling from the sky and noticed it was heading towards your house. is everything ok?” Magis asked?

“No time to explain. There is a stallion in my house who needs help and I don't know what to do. Please help him.” I started shaking violently and I couldn't stop the tears from falling now.

“Snow, Dusty, go check on the stallion. Jinx just try to relax.” Magis stated. I saw Snow and Dusty head inside my house. I was tired from carrying the stallion so I let myself fall to the ground.

“Jinx you're bleeding!.” He pointed to my hooves.

“Its not mine. Its from the injured stillion. im fine, I just need some rest.” I replied. Magis moved next to me and sat down.

“Thats good but, can you tell me whats going on?”

I took a deep breath and wiped the tears from my eyes. “Well I woke up this morning from a crash and came outside to check it out. I found him in that creator over there and helped him.” I pointed to the crater with my hoof.

“Wow and I thought my mornings were hard.” I smiled at that.

“I hope he'll be alright.” I said. I was worried that I was too late to save him.

“You did everything you could. Now just relax and let us take care or the rest.” Magis stood back up and walked in my house. I just laid there for about five minutes before I saw Snow fly off towards the city with the stillon on his back. Dusty and Magis came out of my house and walked over to me.

“Is he going to be ok?” I asked them.

“Well I can't really say but, what I can say is that he is alive.” Dusty said. I didn't like that answer.

“How are you feeling?” Magis asked me.

“My body still sore but, other then that Im fine.” I tried standing again but, I ended back on the ground. I must have been running on pure adrenaline.

“l can carry you if you can't get up.” Magis offered.

“No I think I can move.” I tried once more but, It had to same end result. then I felt something all around my body. I looked at magis and saw his horn glowing. he levitated me on his back.

“Ill put you down when we get back to Baltimare.” He said with a tone that told me this is not up for debate. I didn't feel like arguing anyway.

I sighed. “Fine.” I could see Dusty holding his laughter. This was so embarrassing.

We had been walking for a few minutes. They were both being silent. I didn't like it so I tried to lighten the mood.

“Sooo, how was your morning before coming to my house, I mean.” Ok, I never said I was good at lighten up the mood.

“It was normal. Dusty not wanting to get up so, I told him I would use magic to get him up.” He stated.

“You know how I feel about magic.” Dusty retorted.

“Thats why I told you I would use it.” Magis replied.

“Whats wrong with magic?” I asked.

“Nothing I just dont like it thats all.” Dusty replied.

“He’s scared of magic.”

“Magis stop talking.” Dusty said glaring at Magis.

“Why are you scared of magic?” I asked confused. I mean sure it felt weird when its used on me but, nothing you should be afraid of. its apart of everypony.

“I don't want to talk about it. Can we please change the subject?” That wasn't like Dusty. I had only known him for about a day but, it didn't seem like something he would do unless he was serious about. So I changed the subject.

“Magis is there any chance I could get that story you promised me?” I said with hopeful eyes. He looked back at me to respond.

“Sorry, its a long story and were almost there.” He was right. I could see the tall buildings in the distance.

“You think you can walk on your own now?” Magis asked.

“Yeah, I should be able to.” He then used his magic to lower me onto the ground. I was kinda sad that the ride was over. I would never admit that I was enjoying it. I noticed that Dusty was a few more steps behind us then before. Was it because magis was using magic.

We walked into town. I was following Dusty and Magis. I should have been memorizing landmarks so I wouldn't get lost but, my body was on follow while my mind was elsewhere. I was thinking about all the events that happened this morning. I couldn't think of any reasonable explanation for what could have happened. I guess I would have to wait an see.

“Jinx!” I heard somepony called out.

“Huh what, sorry I was in lost in thought.” I said sheepishly.

“Thats alright. I was just letting you know that were here.” Magis replied. The hospital was a lot smaller compared to the buildings around it but, it was at least six stories high.

We walked into the main lobby of the hospital. I took a quick look around. I could see that there were a few seats on the left and right side of the main lobby. There were a few ponies sitting on the right side waiting. I noticed Snow waiting at the front desk so, we made are way over to him.

“Hey guys, what took you so long?”

“Not all of us can fly you know.” Dusty replied.

“Is he going to be ok?” I didn't mean to cut in like that but, I was going to go crazy if i didn't know.

“Im not sure, the doctor hasn't came back yet.” Snow said. His tone had changed completely from what it was a few seconds ago. It sounded depressed maybe, I wasn't sure.

A brown earth pony with a brown mane came out of the the door on the right of the dask. There was something off about him I just couldn't place. He waved Snow over to him and we followed.

“Hello everypony you must be friends or family of the patient. Im the Doctor and I wish we were talking under better circumstances.”

“Hello Doctor Im Snow and this is Magis, Dusty and Jinx.”

“How is he doing Doctor?” I asked trying not to think about what he could be implying when he said better circumstances.

“We managed to completely stop the bleeding in time and we cleaned all his wounds. We did have to run a few tests to make sure we got everything. The results of that should be coming back soon. In the mean time would you like to see him?”

“Yes we would.” I said speaking for all of us.

“Alright follow me.” We headed back through the door the Doctor had previously came though. It led to a hallway with rooms on the left side. We all followed the doctor till he stopped at room eighteen. He turned to us.

“Im sorry but, only two of you can go in at a time.” The Doctor said.

“Thats fine.” I replied.

“So how do we decide who goes first?” Snow asked.

“I think Jinx should go in first. She was the one who saved him after all.” Dusty committed. the others noded.

“Alright, I guess I can do first but, who's coming with me?” I asked.

“I'll go with you.” Magis replied. He then walked to the door and open it. “After you.” He gestured to the door. I giggled a little at how silly he was being.

I walked into the room magis in toe. The room was about the size you would expect it to be. The private bathroom was on the left of the room. I took a few more steps in and looked around. There was a few pictures on the walls that talked about good health. Then there was the bed and the pony laying on it. He had a silver coat with a blue and yellow mane. He was looking out the window on the right of him. I guess he hadn't notice we walked in.

“Hello my name is Jinx and this is Magis.” He looked at us a bit surprised.

“Hello my name is Silver Wing. Can you tell me how I got here?” He asked us.

“Well you were falling out the sky and landed in front of my house. You were badly hurt from the fall so, we brought you here.” Now that I said it outloud it sounds off. There are only a few ways someone could fall out the sky and a lot of them are not by mistake.

“Can you tell us what happened to you.” Magis asked.

“All I remember was flying towards Baltimare and now i'm here.”

“Thats strange, maybe the fall did something to your memory? Can you tell us why you were coming to Baltimare?” I asked. maybe his memory would come back if he thought about it more.

“I'm visiting an old friend. He lives somewhere here in Baltimare. I wanted to surprise him.” He closed his eyes for a moment then open them back. “Magis can you go get your friend Snow. I want to talk to him.”

Magis looked shocked and he wasn't the only one. “How do you know Snow and more importantly how do you know he was here.” Magis asked.

“Im going to tell you guys a secret and you can't tell anypony else. Agreed?” We both noded. “I'm psychic.” My eyes widen in amazement.

“Really?” I asked.

“No not really, I talked to him when I woke up.” I can't believe I fell for that. Before Magis could say anything I put my hoof over his mouth.

“Not one word Magis, understand?” He nodded and I put my hoof down and he started laughing. “What did I just say?”

“Hey you said nothing about laughing.” He started walking towards the door with a smile on his face. A few minutes of awkward silence passed before Snow came into the room.

“Snow its been so long how have you been.” Silver asked. That was odd they must have talked a few minutes ago. Snow didn't answer. “Don't tell me you're still mad about what happened.” Snow stayed silent but, walk up to the side of Silvers bed. Snow then wrapped his hooves around silver and hugged him. Then it clicked in my mind. Snow must have been the friend Silver was talking about.

“Don't ever scare me like that again. When I found your body I...I just lost it. I broke down. If Dusty wasn't there you might not have survived.” I could see the tears forming in Snows eyes. ”None of this would have happened if I would have taken you with me from the start but, I was scared of what you might think about leaving.”

Silver returned the hug.“Its ok, I understand and I don't blame you.” Suddenly I felt out of place so, I slept out before they noticed.

“How did it go?” Dusty asked. Him and Magis were waiting outside the room.

“Magis, remember when Silver said he was looking for somepony well that somepony was Snow.”

“Really?” Magis said surprised. I nodded but, before I could continue my stomach started growling.

“Sorry, kinda missed breakfast over all the excitement this morning.” I started.

“We can go get something to eat while you explain what's going on to Dusty.” Magis offered.

“Shouldn't we tell Snow that were leaving.” Dusty asked. I shook my head.

“Something tells me he won't even notice we're gone.”

also FiM was down all day yesterday anyone know why?
