Magis led me as we walked down the somewhat busy street. There was a nice breeze as we walked. I noticed that I had never seen this part of the city. As we walked I started to hear a beat from afar.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“A nightclub. I thought it would be fun and I think we both could use a drink after everything that's happened today.”

I didn't drink much, only because I know the effect it had on me. I was told that when I got drunk, there was no such thing as personal space. I wasn't sure if I should tell magis that so, I didn't.

Arriving at the nightclub I could hear the bass from outside. Its beat was steady, I couldn't say that about anything else I herd. The word “Nova” was in neon lights on the top of the building. There was a line to the entrance that stretch to the end of the building.

“I don't suppose you have somepony inside that can get us in without waiting.” I joked.

“Actually the owner and I are good friends.” He stated.

“How do you know the owner?” I gave him a puzzled look.

“He came on the show and shortly after that Nova became one of the most popular nightclubs in the city. I can tell you more about it but, first let's get inside.”

Magis and I walked towards the entrance passing the large crowd of ponies that were waiting to get inside. There were too large stallions standing by the entrance wearing shirts the said “security” on them. They looked like they could be twins. They had the same long blond mane color. The only difference between them is there height and eye color. The one on the left seemed to be about my height and the one right was a little taller than Magis.

“Hey guys long time no see.” Magis said cheerfully.

“Magis!” They both said in unison. “How have you been buddy, we haven't seen you around here in weeks.” The short one stated.

“Well I've been really busy with work among other things. Oh, I would like you both to meet a new friend of mine.” Magis gestured towards me. “ This is Jinx, she just move here from a small village. Jinx this is Edward and Alphonse. You probably already guessed it but, there brothers. You can call Edward, Ed for short. The tall one is-

“Who you callin short!?” Edward said defensively cutting Magis off.

“No one called you short bro.” Alphonse replied. “Sorry Ed has a issue with being called short even though he is.” his brother stated simply. Ed give his brother a disapproving glare.

“Its nice to meet you both.” I said with a hoof over my mouth trying not to laugh at how silly they were being.

“We should catch up when you two aren't working.” Magis said.

“Yeah, we should.” Alphonse said. He then stepped aside letting us in. “It's was nice to meet you to Jinx. Magis try not to do what you did last time.”

“Really, Al you had to bring that up. It was a honest mistake.” Magis said.

“Wait, what happened last time.” I asked.

“Well, Jinx let's head inside. will see you to later bye.” Magis said quickly pushing me into the club.

My eyes widen in amazement as I saw the inside of the club. The dancefloor was filled with ponies dancing to the beat of the music. The Neon lights fell in rhythm with the beat as the music continued to play.

“Come on the first drink's on me.” I heard magis say over the music. I followed him towards the bar. We found two empty seats and next to each other. I didn't know much about drinks so I just got what magis had. I figured I could handle whatever he was drinking. When we got our drinks Magis was quick to drink all of his and ask for a few more.

“Don't you think you should slow down?” I asked. Taking a small sip from my mug. surprisingly the drink tasted nothing like the drinks i've had before. This tasted more like soda than alcohol.

“I know my limit so, dont worry about me. by the look on your face I can tell this is the first time you've had a mixed vodka.”

I nodded. “It's like soda. Are you sure this is alcoholic?” I asked, taking a large gulp of my drink.

“Don't let the taste fool you. This can hit you hard if you're not careful.” I nodded taking down the rest of the drink and asking for another. Its not that I didn't believe what Magis said but, I wanted to see what my own limit was. I turned to look at Magis who was already on his fourth mug. IM not sure how long I had been staring but, my eyes went back to his horn.

“Magis do you think you I could hear the story now?” I asked. Receiving my second drink.

“Sure, why not. I'm already drinking.” He said. setting his mug down. “I was a just a colt at the time. I didn't even have my cutie mark.” He took another swig of his drink before continuing.

“This happened back when I lived in canterlot with my mom. She had to work a lot to keep us afloat so, I spent most of my time with Dusty, we did everything together. We are like brothers, which is why it hit him almost as hard as it did me.” He sighed before continuing.

Magis

“Mom I'm heading to school now.” I said opening the door. My mother was in the kitchen finishing the dishes.

“Alright, just remember to go with Dusty after school. I have to work late today so, I wont be able here when you get out of school.”

“Ok mom I see you later then. Love you.”

“ I love you to honey have a great day at school.”

I headed out, trotting down the main streets of Canterlot. I always took the main street on my way to school. It wasn't the fastest way to get to school but, I didn't take this way to be on time for school. I took this way to meet up with Dusty. We would meet up before class and walk the rest of the way together. It took me a little longer to find him than normal.

“Hay Dusty, you alright?” I asked him. His movements were slow and sluggish. When he looked up at me I could see the bags in his eyes.

“Oh...um yeah, im fine. I was just up all night finishing the big project for today.” He said.

“Let me guess you waited till the last moment to start on it?” I asked.

“Yup, you know I do my best when things are last minute.” He said rubbing his eyes. “Speaking of projects where's yours?”

“Your must be really out of it today, mine is righ-” Before I could finish my sentence I noticed that I felt lighter than normal. “Im not wearing saddlebags am I?” The shake of Dusty head was all I needed before I made a beeline towards my home.

“Magis where are you going class starts in ten minutes.” He yelled.

“I know, Ill be back by then.” I yelled back. I ran the whole way home. By the time I made to my door I was panting. My hooves were aching but, I didn't care. All I could think about was getting my project and getting back to school.

I tried to open my front door but, it was locked. I guess mom must have left already. I head my own key but, it was in my saddlebags. Remembering that mom and I keep a hidden key above the door I quickly used my magic to get the key down, unlocking the door I ran straight to my room. I had left my project on the side of my bed.

After carefully packing it I headed back out my room. Before I could open my door I could hear hoofsteps coming from outside my room. I froze at my door, It was most likely my mom out there, not wanting to make a sound I just stood there in listened. They went every witch way. Then they started to get closer and closer with each step my heart got a little faster. She was heading right towards me. I quickly but, quietly made my way to my closet and hid there.

I heard hoofsteps within my room and this made my heart stop completely. After a few seconds that felt like hours I finally took a peeked out my closet door. My mom was a light red unicorn with an long orange mane that covered her dark red eyes. She was looking at the picture I had on my dresser. It was of me and my dad after my very first hoofball game we went to.

Then something I never would have seen coming happend. This was the moment I realized all my mistakes. Why did I have to forget my stupid project? Why did she have to come home? Why did things have to be this way? This was something I couldn't unsee and would change my life.

My eyes widen in horror as I watched green flames surround my mother. It felt like everything was going in slow motion for me as I watched her coat and mane change. I had no idea what I was looking at. She had an all black coat now and her hooves had holes in them. I just stared as the thing that was my mother continued to look at the picture.

After a few moments that felt like hours she left the house but, I stayed. Still in my closet thinking. I was so confused. I don't remember how long I stayed in the closet but, I know I messed most of school that day.

After school, I met up with Dusty and we started heading back to his house.

“Dude what happened!?” He asked. I didn't know if I should say anything yet. I didn't know what was going on myself so, I stayed silent. Unfortunately for me he did not. “ Why did it take you most of the school day to get back?”

“Nothing, I guess i lost track of time.” I lied. Hopeing that he would leave it at that.

“I can tell you're lying.” He said. “You're not the one to skip school so, something must have happened.” He was right, I had no desire to miss school but, after what i saw, the rest of the world left me as I tried to figured it out.

“Ok, ill tell you when we get to your house. Maybe you can help me figure this out.” He seemed satisfied with my answer as we walked to his house in silence.

After I explained to Dusty what happened, I found myself waiting on his response. We were in his room. I had close the door so, no one could hear what I had to say. He was sitting on his bed with a expression on his face i couldn't place. I think it was a mixture of confusion and something else.

“Yup, I have no idea what that could be.” He stated finally.

“Well, what do you think I should do?” I asked.

“I think we should figure out what you saw. That way we know what we're dealing with. We can figure out what to do after that.” He said. Then he laid down on his bed. “Now let me sleep for a few hours than we can start.” He started while yawning.

“Bro, its the middle of the day you can sleep later.” But, he was already fast asleep. Know that Dusty wasn't going to wake up anytime soon I layed next to him and let my mind wander until I dozed off myself.

Sorry this took so long. You would not believe how unlucky I have been. it feels like i'm in a bad comedy or something. anyway I've been working on a new story but, i'm thinking on waiting till i finish this story before I start that one.

Part 2 will be out tomorrow. this would have been one big chapter but, I figured it would work better if i split it.
