Chapter 5

I started to smell the sweet scent of honey in the air; I could smell it before I was even awake. As I started to open my eyes I could see the sun shining in the window it felt like it was blinding me. So I closed my eyes and rolled over. Which was a mistake because I felt a surge of pain rush through every nerve I had. I knew I had to get up but then I heard Fluttershy start to hum a melody. So it had to be loud since I was up stairs and the door was closed. So I got up as the pain from the day before rushed through me again. As I stumbled to the door I heard her stop humming, she must have known I was up.

I made it down the steps and looked around Fluttershy wasn’t in her living room. But I heard her fumbling around in the kitchen. As I stood in the doorway Fluttershy had her back turned to me and she was hovering to get into one of her upper cabinets. “Good morning Fluttershy.” I nearly whispered trying not to scare her, but somehow I still managed to scare her. As whatever was in her hand was now flying at my head as she threw it backwards. As I dodged the flying projectile it hit the wall in the living room. “O-Oh U...Umm I’m so sorry A-Andrew.” She mumbled “It’s ok Fluttershy, I’m just glad it didn’t hit me. If it would have I think I would have been going back to sleep earlier than expected.” I said with a scared look on my face.

“Umm, Andrew would you like some eggs?”She asked hanging her head down. “If it wouldn’t be too much of a bother, then sure.”I said. Then she hid her face and opened her door from the kitchen to the back yard. So I figured she went to get some eggs from the chicken cope out back. While she was gone I saw Angel sitting there in front of a carrot but it didn’t look like he was going to eat it, I walked over and I saw a jar with what looked like sweet animal treats in it. I got one of the treats out and walked over to Angel and handed it to him. He then stared up at me with what looked like tears in his eyes. So I put my hand down and picked him up and put him on my shoulder. Because I knew I would rather be friends with this little tricky bunny than be his enemy.

Fluttershy then opened the door and just about dropped the eggs she had just collected. “Oh my, are you good with animals to?” She asked with a hint of excitement in her voice. “Umm, I don’t think I am, why?” I said. “Usually angel doesn’t let anyone else touch him, let alone does he ride on anypony.” She muttered in her soft voice. “I guess I am just lucky.” Looking over and winking at Angel. After she finally stopped gawking at me she turned around and started to make the eggs. “How would you like your eggs?” she asked “Umm, surprise me.” I said with a little chuckle. Then she went over and grabbed some bread. “Would you like normal bread or would you like it toasted?”She asked hesitantly. “I’ll just take regular bread please.”

As she was working on the eggs I said, “Would you mind answering these two questions I have stuck in my head?” She gave a quick glance back nodded then turned back around. “Ok, what is that honey scent in the air?” I asked. At the time I asked she was not hovering but once I asked she then flapped her wings once real quick. “O-Oh umm… I think you smell my shampoo.” My mouth was now at a gape. “That scent is your shampoo?” I nearly fell out of my chair as I said that. “Yes, why, do you like it?” at this point I could see her face had somewhat of a blush but I wasn’t too sure. “Well yeah I think it smells great.” I could see her giggle a little. Now the eggs were done, see picked up a plate and put it on her back and then picked up another in her mouth. She then brought it to the table and placed the plate in her mouth in front of me. She then grabbed the plate off of her back and sat it across the table. She then hopped up in the chair and looked at me. She said, “W-Well I hope you enjoy it.”

I looked down at my plate and there sat two pieces of bread, a sunny side up egg, and a shiny red apple. I waited to ask my next question till we were done eating. I have to say it was really good and the egg was made just right. “Well for a little dessert I think I might have to eat some of your shampoo since it smells so good and I like honey, I’m just joking but that is how good yo…- that scent smells.” I just barely caught myself when I said that. Apparently she didn’t hear me which is a good thing cause I think things would have got awkward after that. As she had one bite left, I got up and grabbed my plate and as soon as she was done I grabbed hers and said, “Allow me since you made it I can clean everything up.

Once I put everything in the sink and started to wash everything she had dirtied, there was a knock at the door just as I finished up. I could hear Fluttershy talking somepony but I didn’t know who it was by the voice at least. As I rounded the corner I froze from what I saw. It was the mare I saw before Pinke knocked me out. But I couldn’t move or say anything as Fluttershy closed the door and turned out. She had a package in her mouth and started to trot towards me then my body caught up to my brain. “FLUTTERSHY DON’T CLOSE THE DOOR!!!!!!!” but it was about a minute to late. The poor scared to death cream colored pony fell over like she had a heart attack. I ran over to her saying “Oh my gosh Fluttershy I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to yell so loud like that please forgive me.” After about five minutes of her hyperventilating she came back to the real world. It was like I scared her into to a short coma.

I helped her up but her legs wouldn’t support her. So I picked her up and while I was holding her I asked, “Where would you like me to put you?” “O-On th-th-the couch.” She said shakily. After I put her on the couch I said, “I am so so so sorry Fluttershy please forgive.” She said, “Its ok Andrew, I forgive you.” I think I was still in shock from seeing that mare again. “Umm Fluttershy, do you know who that mare is?” I asked “Oh, that mare at the door was Ditzy Doo.”She said still with a shaky voice. “Oh and about that question I was going to ask you earlier, were you humming or sing when I was still up in the room?”I asked.

“Oh umm, why was it bothering you?” she asked me in a whisper. “No not at all Fluttershy, I think it was really calming.” I said and all she did was smile. “So what are the plans for today?” I asked. “Umm really whatever you want to do Andrew.” Once she said that a couple…of things went through my mind until I realized what I was dreaming about and had to shake it off. Umm ok well I think I’m going to be heading to Twilights library for now, so if you need anything you know where I will be.” I muttered only because that Pegasus was floating around in my mind again. Angel then hopped off my shoulder and bounced back into the kitchen.

While I was walking down the road to town I saw something tumbling out of the sky. Then I noticed what it was it was that Pegasus that I have seen twice now. So I took off running as fast as I could. I knew I didn’t have much time to get to where she was going to hit. So I ran to the point where you know you are going too fast for your legs to keep up and you know you’re going to fall any second. Then it was as if time was slowing down. As I saw her freefalling and getting ever closer to the ground. As I was getting closer I jumped out to try and catch her.

I caught her and brought her close and tight to my chest as I wrapped up around her. Because I knew this was going to hurt once I noticed where I had jumped was over a steep hill. Once we made contact I had every last ounce of air knocked out of me. Then we started to tumble down the hill. “AHHHHH!!!” I let out a blood curdling scream. I had hit something so hard with my back that my arms exploded off to the sides of my body. Then the slow-mo set in once again as I saw her fly out of my arms and roll a few feet away to my side. Once I saw that. I felt my anger explode inside of me as all the pain in my body was masked by the adrenaline that started to rush through every inch of my body.

I got up and slid over next to her she was still unconscious. I grabbed her two front legs and put my head underneath of her shoulder and then grabbed her back legs. Once I felt the adrenaline in my body peak I flung her on to my shoulder as softly as I could. I then stood up and started to run up the hill that we tumbled down. It was a long way to the top but I made it up to the top in no time. I knew I had to get her to the hospital before too long so I took off.

Once I had been running for what felt like forever I heard a voice come up from behind me. It was Rainbow Dash now flying next to me. “Go to the hospital and tell them they have got a critical patient on the way now!”I said quickly, I saw nothing but pure shock in her face. Then I noticed she wasn’t looking at Ditzy Doo but looking at me. “I don’t want to know just get to the hospital now rainbow dash!” I screamed in a pissed off tone. And then all I saw was a rainbow trail from where she took off as quick as as lightning not but seconds later I heard what sounded like a sonic boom but I wasn’t to worried I just had to get her to the hospital.

I could finally see the hospital it was about another half mile away. I still couldn’t feel anything as the adrenaline was pumping throughout my body even more than before. Before I even noticed it I was at the hospital and there in the doors that I’m pretty sure I just busted through was a bed and doctors standing there waiting for me to get there. As I stepped up to the bed I slowly knelt down and put the unconscious mare on to it. As I stood back up and watched them wheel her away rainbow was staring at me mortified at what she was seeing? “Rainbow what’s wrong……?” then I noticed the room started to go dim as I looked around everyone was looking at me. As I looked down at myself all I saw was a deep red covering just about every inch of my body and what looked to be a puddle of blood forming behind me then everything went dark.

When I finally opened my eyes I saw twilight standing over me as well as what looked like three other doctors all of their horns were glowing brightly as I felt a warming sensation run over by body. I wasn’t sure why they were helping me and not helping Ditzy Doo. “W-W….What are you all doing standing here go help Ditzy Doo Now! AHHH! Why aren’t you listening to me I said go help her now! I was screaming at them I could feel the hot tears run down my face as they burned like they were made of battery acid. Then I saw twilight look at me with pure shock in her eyes then I saw a bright flash of magic and didn’t remember anything after that.

Once I awoke again I saw a single doctor stand above me with a smile in his eyes. “Ahh good morning there Andrew, How are you feeling?” “Umm I feel fine, why what happened?”I asked. “Well Andrew I’m am very surprised you are alive. You see once you brought in Ditzy, after you sat her on the bed you past out yourself. We got you into the operating room asap you were in such bad condition that you stopped breathing a couple of times until we got you stable. Once you came in we started our scan. I couldn’t believe you weren’t dead let alone carrying a full grown mare nearly five miles to a hospital. You had four cracked vertebrate and seven broken ribs along with cuts that were nearly deep enough to hit your organs. You had very little blood in you. So I have to say that it is a miracle that you are still with us as you are.” He said rubbing his chin. “Wait is Ditzy ok, please doc tell me she is ok?” I asked grasping the rails of my bed. “Ditzy is just fine, she left just earlier this morning after she came to see who saved her. She said when you woke up for to tell you that she thanks you for what you did for her.” Once the doc said that I finally released my grip from the railing it was bent and looked nearly crushed. “Did I do that doc?”I asked as my voice cracked. “Well yes you did but not just now, you did that when we were operating on you, you woke up and started to freak out and you were screaming at us to take care of Ditzy Doo. You were grasping the railing so hard that you nearly broke it.”

“Once you let out your second outburst twilight put you to sleep with one of her spells.” He chuckled “I-I’m so sorry.” I hung my head down embarrassed of what I had done. “Don’t worry about it.” Then his horn started to glow and it repaired the damaged bed. ‘’Umm do you know what caused ditzy to pass out?” I asked. “Yes we do know what caused her to pass out. She was on her way back from Phillydelphia after taking the mail there over night from ponyville she had been working about 36 hours straight and finally her body gave out on her and shut down. If you wouldn’t have caught her she more than likely would have died from the fall but when you caught her you took all the damage that would have been done to her. That and rolling down the hill that you did and smashing into the rock down at the bottom didn’t help your condition anymore. But you are fully healed and you are now allowed to leave anytime you want.” He said with a heartwarming smile. “Thanks doc I owe you one.” “Umm actually you owe every doctor one and you owe twilight about six.” He said laughing. “What do you mean?” I asked with a confused look on my face. “Well every doctor that works here had to operate on you. After the first three of us helped you then the next set was up to continue on you. In all about fifteen doctors and twilight worked on you just about all night. Twilight was a continuous operator she didn’t leave your side till we were done. Then she was taken home to rest. In all we all operated on you for about fourteen hours.” He said.

“Oh and by the way Rarity dropped off a package for you it is right there.” As he pointed down to the side of the bed. “Oh thank you doc.” I said gratefully. So after the doctor left I got up and got dressed. And of course Rarity being Rarity it was a tux. I will admit it did look good but I cannot wear this every day. So I left the hospital after signing out. And I was on my way to Raritys now so I could possibly get something different to wear. So on the way to Raritys I noticed I was turning a lot of heads some even looked like they were breaking their necks. It was nice but I didn’t want all that attention.

Finally making it to Raritys house I knocked on the door. “Oh come in” I heard a voice say. So I opened the door and walked in and there was Rarity finishing up on a dress. “Hello Rarity, how has your day been so far?”I asked joyfully. “Oh hello Andrew I’m doing ju… Oh my word you look dashing Andrew, So stunning.” She exclaimed. “Umm yeah Rarity about that could you possibly make me something more casual and not so formal so I can do some work?” I asked. “Oh no problem Andrew it would be my Pleasure to start right away.” she said happily “Thank you so much Rarity, do you know how long it will take?” I asked with a slight grin on my face. “Actually I’m just about done,” my jaw dropped, “What, I have been working on it over time and now I just have to… put the … finishing touches….. Ok I am all done here try it out.” And there went the tux flying off my body and was nicely put on a hanger and stored away. As I stood there naked the clothes came floating over and I grabbed them. “Rarity did you really have to do that?” I said with a cocked eyebrow. “Oh don’t be so embarrassed I have seen it before and, well other things as well.” She grinned.

After I put the clothes on and started to look over them I saw an insignia that was on my right pectoral muscle it looked to be Twilights, Raritys, Fluttershys, Rainbow Dashes, Apple Jacks, and Pinkie Pies cutie marks and they surrounded Princess Celestias and were connected to it, other than that It was a white shirt and a pair of blue jeans with a brand new belt made out of leather and was a dark blue like Luna’s coat, the belt buckle was Luna’s cutie mark. “Rarity it’s amazing, I only wish I had stuff like this back where I lived.” I said with a smile that more than showed my appreciation.

“Oh it’s nothing Andrew it’s just a simple design.” She said blushing. “That is just the way I like everything but with a little bit of flare thrown in as well and you did that perfectly, thank you.” As I picked up and hugged Rarity. “Well I got to go see Twilight to thank her for well, pretty much saving my life. See you later Rarity.” As I opened the door and walked out. “Bye Andrew, see you later.” She spoke up a bit louder so I could hear her.

I was on my way to Twilights now to thank her. Well now I wasn’t turning as many heads but they were still turning. I finally made it to Twilights Library and I knocked but there was no answer. So I figured she was sleeping. I let myself in as quietly as I could and closed the door. I could hear a light snore coming from her room. Perfect I took a look at the clock and it was about 11a.m. ok I know what I will do I will make her some lunch.

I walked into the kitchen and sat in the chair to think about what I could make and what she might like. I did a little bit of culinary arts back when I was in school so then it hit me. When I first got here she said daisies were her favorite food. Ok now I got something to work with let’s get to work and make her a meal she won’t forget. So I went to all the cabinets and got everything I needed to make what I wanted. So I think I’m going to make her daisy stuffed ravioli and for dessert a daisy and banana nut muffin drizzled with a bit of honey. To show her my thanks and all. While for myself I will make a salad.

While I was finishing up the last details I heard her moving around in her room like she was about to come down. I had little time to prepare the table and put everything on it so I hurried. As she was coming down the steps I had just finished. When she got to the bottom of the steps I stepped out of the kitchen and into the living room. “Oh umm hello Andrew.” She said in shock. “Good afternoon Twilight I just figured I could repay you for what you have done for me, So if you would please step into the kitchen.” She slowly stepped into the kitchen and then caught site of what I had made, then her jaw hit the floor. At that point I know I did good and smiled slyly.

I walked over to her seat and pulled it out for her. “If you would take a seat please, And while you take your seat what can I get you to drink?” after she sat down and I pushed in her seat she said “Uhhh… how about a cold glass of apple cider.” She said still confused at what was going on. “Already ahead of you.” As I sat it in front of her, I then took my seat on the other side of the table. She took her first bite and about died as the lightly sweet and hot daisy stuffed ravioli hit her taste buds. “Oh this is so good, I’m just used to spike making us a sandwich or something quick to eat.” Her eyes still rolling back in her head as the flavor sunk in even more.

She finished around the same time I finished my salad. “Oh thank you so much Andrew, that was delightful.” As she slummed back into her chair. “Well I hope you’re not full there is still dessert left.” Once I said that her eyes lit up and she said, “You also made a Dessert?” I chuckled and said, “I sure did.” Then grabbed it out of the oven which was only keeping them warm for the time being. I then turned around and she caught sight of the one I made her. The one I made for myself was just a plain muffin with a little bit of cinnamon. I sat hers on her plate. Her eyes were as wide as the sky at night. Once she started to reach for it I said, “No you can’t eat it just yet just give me a second and I will finish it up,” Her arms went limp and fell to her side as she was tormented by the delectable looking muffin that sat in front of her. I then put a small drizzle of honey around the top of the muffin. I then looked at her and said, “Ok you can dig in.” she grabbed the muffin and slowly brought it up to her mouth. Right as she was about to take a bite I said, “hold on!” She just looked at me and gave me an evil look. “Ok ok you can eat it I was just joking.” I said as I feared for my life. Lesson learned, don’t get between a mare and her sweets or you might just die.

She took the first bite and she literally fell out of her chair. She darted back up and sat back down. “Are you ok Twilight?” I asked in a concerned tone. “Yeah I’m fine but I don’t think my taste buds are, because I have never had anything this good before in my life.” She said quickly. I just laughed and nodded. After about 10 minutes of her savoring it she was finally done. I can see that you like that recipe. “Oh very much so, thank you so much for the meal and dessert.” “Don’t worry about it, it was the least I could do for you saving my life and healing me twice now.” I said and she just chuckled.

“Twilight, umm did you by chance see Ditzy Doo at any point while you were at the hospital?” I asked nervously. “Umm, yeah she was leaving at the same time I was.” Twilight said. “Did she look ok to you?”I asked. “Yeah, she looked fine thanks to you. She didn’t even have any cuts, scrapes, or bruises. She looked as healthy as ever compared to you at the point.” She said with a little laugh. “Umm, she delivers mail doesn’t she?” I asked. “Yes she does deliver mail and she has a daughter named Dinky Doo. At the sound of the she has a daughter something inside of me felt weird. “So she is married?” I said in disbelief. “No she isn’t married; because the stallion that was with her left her once she got pregnant.”

“Umm how old is her daughter?” I asked. “Umm I believe she will be three in… six weeks.” She said almost as if she was unsure. “Umm where does she live, I would like to pay her a visit to make sure she is doing ok?” as soon as I said that I saw a slight grin crawl across her face. “Her address is 302 Trotting lane. “Thank you Twilight; Umm I will see you later, ok.” As I was about to walk out she looked back at me and said, “Have a good time, but do be safe.” I looked back and said, “Will do!”As a soft smile lit up on her face. “Ok off to 302 Trotting lane.” .Gulp.
