Meeting the God of Tartarus

The Friendship Express was making its way towards Canterlot at its usual leisurely pace but the passengers on the train are our focus. The Elements of Harmony: Princess Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash along with the baby dragon Spike. The young princess was very distraught in thought..... as usual. For she and her friends had been summoned by Princess Celestia to come to her castle immediately.

"What could she possibly want? What kind of trouble could there be?!" Twilight pondered until her ponderer couldn't ponder anymore.

"Calm down, Twi." Spike said very calm,

"It's probably nothing too serious."

"Spike, every single time the princess has called us something terrible has happened. So how can I not worry?" Twilight asked.

"I suppose you do have a point. But I do like to be optimistic." Spike said and got out a comic book from his carrier bag.

"I must agree. You do tend to overreact quite a bit." Rarity commented.

Everypony than looked at the fashion pony with strange looks.

"What? What is it?" Rarity asked.

"Your commenting how Twilight overreacts when you called loosing a diamond ribbon the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING." Dash imitated.

Rarity then got a sheepish and embarrassed look.

"Well, like Spikey-wikey said..... I like to be optimistic?" She commented.

Everypony chuckled a bit at that and even Rarity got a little laugh out of her. But the princess of friendship still had her doubts that something would go wrong.

Our heroes eventually arrived at their destination and approached the castle.

"Welcome Princess Twilight. The other princesses have been awaiting your arrival." One guard said.

"Um, thank you." Twilight said with a smile as the two guards led the elements inside.

Our heroes made their way through the castle to the throne room where Celestia and Luna were waiting for them.

"Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. Why have you called us here?" Twilight asked.

The Princesses seemed to have very distraught looks upon them but they tried to remain composed and sophisticated in front of their subjects. Celestia then took a deep breath and exhaled and eventually said,

"Girls, a great evil is going to descend upon the world."

"This evil has been around since the birth of the planet." Luna stated,

"He's a monster of terrible proportions."

"Monster? Now that's quite harsh don't you think?" A voice echoed through the throne room.

Everypony in the room jumped in surprise at the sound of the mysterious voice.

"Who said that?!" Twilight shouted.

"Malumpere! Show thyself!" Luna shouted in anger.

"Hm hm hm..... Anything for you Luny." The voice chuckled.

Suddenly it felt as if the air had gotten denser and the entire throne room seemed to get darker. Suddenly Luna and Celestia were forced off the throne area by a dark mysterious ball.

"Oops. My bad." The voice said again as the ball seemed to form something.

It formed into an unfamiliar shape as it sat down on Celestia's throne it finally revealed who it was. It was a human in a tuxedo.

"Celly, Luny, my dear old enemies. How long has it been?" The human greeted.

"Malumpere, you aren't welcome here." Celestia said sternly.

"Well that's no way to treat a guest. I thought you were brought up to be proper and mare-like? Guess they skipped that chapter." Malumpere joked.

Twilight was blown away. Malumpere was...... one of those humans from the world she went through in the crystal mirror. Her mouth was even agape.

"Well, looks like the new princess has mouth troubles." The human smirked.

Twilight immediately fixed her mouth and said,

"Who are you Malumpere? What's your business here?"

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha. My business? Oh nothing much, just a diabolical plan to eliminate harmony and friendship. A typical day in my life." The human said nonchalantly,

"But then again. What do you expect when you have the powers of a god and your the ruler of Tartarus itself?"

"Tartarus? You mean that stinkhole where all the dead ponies, demons and Tirek reside?" Dash said.

"Yes, indeed. But it's MY stinkhole." Malumpere said with a very serious look on his face.

"Whatever it is we're not gonna let you get away with whatever your planning!" Dash shouted.

"I doubt I'll be stopped by a group of techni-colored ponies especially one with a stupid colored mane and is dumber than a sack of baby chickens." The ruler of Tartarus taunted with a smirk on his face.

That comment really got Dash mad and she shouted,

"How dare you! I'll knock that look right off your face!"

She then charged straight at Malumpere prepared to deliver a buck to his face. However when she got close Malumpere lifted up one finger and blasted a dark magic beam in her face sending her flying into the ceiling.

"Hmph. Guess I know what nickname to give you now. Stupid, arrogant, pompous, numbskull." He taunted still having that smirk on his face.

"Dash!" Applejack shouted,

"Now y'all listen here partner. I'm not gonna stand by and let some weird looking creature hurt mah friends."

"If you like her so much just kiss your marefriend already!" Malumpere shouted and laughed at his own joke.

Applejack really got ticked at that joke and then got out her lasso and threw it towards the evil human. However said human simply teleported out of the way and delivered a powerful chop to her neck sending her to the ground in pain and then teleported back to to the throne.

"Are we done yet?" He taunted.

"Wait a minute. I've seen that kind of magic before. He's using dark magic!" Twilight shouted in realization.

"Congratulations, captain obvious. But you'd be surprised how I learned it....... I created it." Malumpere said proudly.

Everypony was shocked by this realization.

"Indeed. About when I helped create this world. Yep, I helped create the world we live in today along with Faust and the alicorns. You can thank me later." Malumpere smiled.

"Tis true. He did help create the world we live in today." Luna admitted.

"Finally, I get some credit from you." The ruler of Tartarus said smiling.

"But that does not excuse the things thou have done in the past." Luna rebutted.

"Wait, if your gonna tell them my many achievements." Malumpere stopped and then snapped his fingers.

Suddenly the girls and princesses were in some movie theater and Malumpere was right next to them,

"I'll just show them. Enjoy the picture and do remember to silence your cell phones."

"Cell phones?" Applejack went.

"Oh nevermind. Just enjoy the show." Malumpere commented, snapped his fingers again and a projecter started up and showed images on the big screen.

The movie started with some sort of cartoon.

As the living food was singing Malumpere was humming along with the tune.

"I just love those old cartoons. Reminds me of the good ol' days." He commented.

Suddenly words popped up saying 'Malumpere's Greatest Accomplishments in History.' It started with showing Malumpere in a very old looking Equestria.

"This was one of my first acts of pure villainy against Equestria." He explained.

Malumpere than took the wind and ice and used his dark magic to form something. When he was done it was revealed that he had made..... the Windigos!

"I knew tensions between the earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi were pretty high. So how to get them even higher? Well make the Windigos that feed on that bitterness and turn Equestria into a snowy wasteland." Malumpere chuckled,

"The bickering by the pony leaders was so strong enough that they didn't even need the other ponies to fight just to make more snow, ice and make Equestria even colder."

Suddenly Malumpere got a very sour look,

"Unfortunately, three little ponies wouldn't see things like the others did and made the accursed 'Fire of Friendship' which destroyed my beautiful creations. But still the damage was done and I still consider it a victory in its own merrit."

The movie than showed him with Discord of all things,

"Ah, my good ol' friend Discord. We were quite the pair back in the day. I even helped him take over Equestria. My dark magic combined with his chaotic magic was enough to beat even the princesses. That was when I made my presence known to the ponies and Celly and Luny over there. But unfortunately those two had to go and find the Elements of Harmony from the Tree of Harmony and turn my buddy into stone. That really made me angry which only made me stronger. For you see magic is based on ones emotions. Take regular magic, your good emotions power that magic and make you do the extraordinary  stuff you do. Dark magic however is more based on the negative emotions. Wrath, Pride, Anger and even sadness. I've felt those emotions through most of my life which is why I'm more powerful than Princess sun and Moon butt over there."

Twilight was very shocked that he could just insult them like that. She would have tried to attack him but she saw what happened to the princesses, Dash and AJ so she just stayed in her seat. He seemed like Discord a bit with his dark sense of humor and constant insults but she could also sense the bitterness and anger within him. Like behind that cocky smirk he made was a face of pure rage and evil. He also seemed to take some things very seriously which made him pretty creepy when his serious face showed. The last images showed Luna feeling very down on the balcony.

"Ooooooh..... This ones my favorite." The god of Tartarus said very anxious and rubbing his hands together.

Suddenly Malumpere appeared next to Luna. She's naturally shocked and ready to fight him but he surprisingly puts his hands up in protest.

"Whoa, easy Luna. I'm just here for a friendly visit." The villain on the screen said calmly.

"Thou thinkith us for a fool?!" Luna shouted.

"No, not at all. In fact I greatly admire the beautiful nights you create." Malumpere complimented.

Luna seemed to be effected by this as she unlit her horn and got a very somber look.

"What's the matter? Haven't you gotten compliments about your nights?" Malumpere asked concerned.

"....... No, we have not. The ponies have only slept through it or shunned it." Luna answered.

Malumpere made a pretty shocked look,

"You don't say?"

"Tis true. They seem to favor my sister's mornings and sun." Luna answered feeling very sad.

".... Doesn't that seem a bit unfair?" The god of evil questioned,

"Celestia may be the eldest but aren't you her equal? Her sister? Don't you think she would have told the ponies to respect your nights by now?"

Luna let that question ponder around in her head as she formed an answer,

"I do agree it is strange that she had not asked the ponies to respect my beautiful nights."

"Don't you think you deserve some credit?" Malumpere asked walking behind her.

"Yes, I do believe that. Why hasn't Tia given me any credit?" Luna asked feeling confused.

"If you asked me.... I think she's trying to shun you out to keep the ponies approval of her." Malumpere suggested.

"What? No, tis nonsense. Tia wouldn't......" Luna started and then that question seemed to ring true,

"Actually..... Now that I think about it Tia never once talked about me during any of the meetings and she never once talked with the citizens about who created the nights."

"Quite strange. Your own sister hasn't given her own flesh and blood a chance in the spotlight." Malumpere said and then whispered in her ear,

"Perhaps what I say is not so far-fetched."

Then he just disappeared into the wind leaving Luna there with her thoughts.

"Those words I put in her head made her think. Then..... well you all know the story." Malumpere commented and then showed images of Celestia's battle with Nightmare Moon and her eventual defeat by the Elements of Harmony.

"And we know the rest of the history." The dark ruler chuckled, snapped his fingers and they were all returned to the throne room,

"Now wasn't that quite a watch?"

"I let you deceive me once. Never again!" Luna shouted in anger.

"Ah, still the tempermental mare I knew long ago." Malumpere taunted,

"Ahhhhhh.... memories."

"Enough. What are you planning?" Celestia asked with a serious look.

"Oh Celly, don't you remember? A plan to erase all harmony and friendship from this world..... no biggie." Malumpere joked.

"Your not very funny." Pinkie said,

"And I should know. I'm hilarious!"

"You are not hilarious. You are annoying!" Malumpere shouted sprouting an angry face and surprisingly lava was pouring out of his ears,

"Plus you are dumber than a sack of rocks!"

He did manage to calm himself down, stop the lava, and compose himself,

"But no matter. I will succeed in eliminating friendship and harmony and replace it with my Serenity."

"Serenity?" Twilight said confused.

"Ah, my counter solution to the 'magic of friendship.' When you follow Serenity you are empowered with pride and wrath and it makes you strong while friendship weakens you and only lets you go so far." Malumpere explained.

"Pride, wrath? Those are sins upon themselves!" Luna shouted in anger.

"Yes, but they do solve problems better than friendship." The dark human rebutted.

"I don't believe you. Friendship will always be better than your Serenity." Twilight announced.

Malumpere then got a smirk upon his face,

"Really? Why don't you put your bits where your mouth is? I issue you six a proposition. I will prepare problems that can be solved by pathetic friendship or Serenity. If friendship outdoes serenity I shall admit defeat and return to my realm.... however. Should Serenity be victorious than this world must abandon their ways and embrace mine!"

"Why would we agree to that?!" Dash shouted.

"We don't have to take your challenge. Instead, we could simply defeat you." Rarity proposed.

"Really? Have you not seen what I am capable of?" Malumpere asked and walked towards the balcony. He then formed a dark energy ball in his finger and sent it above Canterlot which became extremely big,

"Perhaps your precious Canterlot needs an example of my superiority."

"You bluff!" Luna shouted,

"Thou wouldn't dare harm the citizens of this fair town."

The evil human still had that smirk on his face and made the ball disappear,

"Your right...... but then again this city of snobs, fools and rich folk doesn't need my help in destroying itself."

The element bearers sat there stumped on what to do. Seeing no other option Twilight said,

"Fine, we accept your challenge."

"Excellent. I will look forward to beating all of you. Farewell for now bearers. Twilight Sparkle, or obsessive compulsive nitwit, Rainbow Dash, or stupid arrogant pompous numbskull, Pinkie Pie, or annoying stupid retard, Rarity, or whiny over the top bitch, Applejack, or stubborn redneck stereotype, Fluttershy, or wimpy spineless doormat, and lastly Spike, or............ baby." Malumpere said feeling bored.

"Huh? How come I only get one name?" Spike questioned.

"Because honestly your not worth my time and are just a liability or comic relief. You don't deserve a clever name. Besides you are a baby dragon so that makes you a baby. Wah wah wah....... T.T.F.N. ta ta for now." Malumpere waved and disappeared in the same dark ball.

"Don't worry Princess Celestia and Luna. We'll take care of Malumpere and beat his challenges." Twilight said proudly.

"Yeah! Then we'll kick his flank all the way back to Tartarus where he belongs!" Dash shouted.

"Do be careful though. Malumpere has a way with words. Don't let him get in your head." Celestia warned.

Twilight nodded as she and her friends exited the castle on what would probably be their biggest adventure yet.
