Princess Luna watched her sister with a heavy heart as Celestia caressed Scootaloo with the care of a mother, stroking the filly's mane with the lightest of hooves. Luna thought about just the night before, when Celestia had done the same for her.
"Oh, Scootaloo, I love you so, and I will help you get your cutie mark, I swear on my life," Celestia cooed to Scootaloo lovingly.
Princess Luna sighed and trotted away solemnly. She just couldn't see how her sister could just ignore her like this! Nonetheless, ignore Ponyville! She shook her head and sighed once more.
Meanwhile, in Princess Celestia's room, Scootaloo was telling Celestia about what she had been expiriencing lately.
"Oh, and my parent's death was so terrible and now I'm all alone in the world, so helpless, getting bullied because I have a blank flank," Scootaloo sobbed in Princess Celestia's arms.
"But you're not alone," the princess cooed. "You have me."
"I guess you're right........ mommy," Scootaloo said through sobs. The filly looked up at her "mommy" with clouded eyes.
"I love you, dear Scootaloo," Celestia told Scootaloo plainly, no lies or suspicions entering her voice.
Scootaloo knew that the beautiful white mare with rainbow mane had a truthful voice when she said those three simple words that meant everything to Scootaloo. She knew it was the worst question to ask at the moment, but she did it anyways:
"Why would you love me, a haggard little filly whose patents are dead and is a blank-flank? I'm not worthy for a princess, especially not you."
"I love you," Princess Celestia repeated, looking down at Scootaloo with loving eyes.
Scootaloo didn't question this time. She knew her "mommy" meant it for sure.
"I know. You now mean the world to me," Scootaloo cried. "And...... and....I......love.......you........too........I love you too!"
