Chapter-28 Training[Edited]

{One week of repetitiveness. I would get up, hunt, and eat. After that, Luna would make me pass out, and then wake me up again, just to repeat the process again. Then a meal will wait for me when I wake up, After that I would have to force my magic to leave my body and go into Luna. Then Luna will make me stay up all night to learn spoken Equish. Supposedly it was to help with the deception.

None of the guards dared bother me, and even Luna kept any interaction to the bare minimum. She insisted on staying close when we were out of the tent, except when I was hunting. And yet no response from the mysterious person. I did make the request vague so he or she would have to reveal themselves to me.

Perhaps more time is needed for them to arrange our meeting. Well at least I had time to decide what my desires in freedom were.} Josh thought as he was waking up from having passed out due to magic fatigue.

"Night, today we start your training in the use of magic. The more you learn to control the magic within yourself, the easier it will be for you to resist the magic used on you." Luna said as she levitated a note with the same sentence in writing to Josh.

As Josh read the message, he picked up a quill and wrote. " What spells will you teach me? And does the spells effect actually allow me to resist magic?" As he presented his message, he attempted to speak it. Which Luna then corrected as she read the message out a loud. Afterwards, she wrote on the scroll again, and spoke as she presented her answer.

"The most basic spell is, increasing or decreasing the weight of yourself, and other things around you. And no, its just that different spells require a different amount of magic control. Whatever you lack in control you make up with raw magic power." Once Josh read the message he nodded, and the two exited the tent.

As they stepped outside of the tent, the guards instantly began to leave the camp not wanting to be near should anything go wrong. Excusing themselves for patrolling duty. Once they were gone, Luna imbued her voice with magic, then spoke.

"I AM SORRY JOSH, BUT IT IS SAFER IF I INSTRUCT YOU WITH MAGIC. IT WILL GUIDE YOU, BUT REMEMBER THE SENSATION. SO THAT YOU CAN DO IT WITHOUT MY AID. WHILE IT MIGHT BE EASIER AND SAFER IT ALSO REQUIRES LESS CONTROL ON YOUR PART, SO I WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN FOR YOU.

NOW IMAGINE YOUR MAGIC RUNNING THROUGH YOU, INSIDE OF YOU, AND TAKE A SMALL PART OF IT AND DIRECT IT TROUGH YOUR FEET. MAKE THE GROUND BENEATH YOU LIGHTER. KEEP DOING IT UNTIL YOU RUN OUT OF MAGIC."- As Luna said this, she noticed a slight irritation in Josh's eyes before he did as he was told.

She felt guilty for not warning him in advance, but it was a lot safer for both of them. She didn't want to risk him refusing and injuring himself causing her unneeded pain.

Luna watched as more dust and grass began to float around Josh. He truly lacked control, even with the help of her magic. The magic he was using in each try was uneven, causing some dirt to float inches from the earth whereas other times it would float higher than the canopy.

Within an hour, Josh fell to the ground unconscious, with a few small wounds covering his legs from the few times he had forced more magic before he was ready to. Luna thought of healing him but decided not to and use the wounds as an excuse to use her magic. She then levitated him back to the tent.

As Night awoke, he noticed that there was a pain in his feet and pressure on his chest. He looked down and was surprised to see Luna sleeping muzzle drooling on his chest. Even though they had shared a tent, Night had always rested through the day while Luna had rested for the few hours she wasn't educating him Equish. This was because while they had agreed to pretend to be in love, neither felt anything but repulsion at the thought of mating with each other. Even sharing a bed was disturbing.

Night freed his hands, and was about to attempt to wake up Luna when a guard entered with a panicked expression on his face. As soon as he saw Night, who was currently wearing only his jeans and Luna's sleeping form. The guard jumped outside of the tent while speaking something apologetic in Equish, which Night couldn't completely understand.

From the words of the guard, Luna awoke and was unpleasantly surprised to see Josh's bare chest underneath her. In her surprise, she jumped away from the bed with so much force that she hit one of the supporting pillars of the tent, making it topple. When they managed to get out from underneath the collapsed tent. The two were met by the six guards one of which was a snickering, Vibrant Arts.

With an annoyed sigh, Luna asked if the guards had anything to report. To which Vibrant Arts stopped snickering, and a male pegasus guard spoke.

"Well, princess I spotted a dragon flying near here carrying a big hoard of treasure. We should be careful. If it spots us, it might attack us to defend its wealth." As Luna heard the report, she frowned before scavenging some writing materials and presenting the report to Josh. He read the report, then wrote his response.

"A dragon has appeared. You won't be hunting for a few days until it passes the area." Reading this Night had an expression appear on his face that terrified all the soldiers as he wrote.

"Why? If it attacks me, I will kill it whatever it is, and if it doesn't bother me I won't bother it." -As Luna saw the response, she shook her head frantically and wrote again.

"You can't, it's a dragon! Even my sister and I have problems keeping them at bay. And what do you mean kill, What of our agreement?" Night became annoyed as he wrote another response.

"I mean that I will kill anyone who tries to kill me. I won't risk a repeat of Blue Blood and if you disagree you would disagree with your word. Just make sure your subjects don't attack me and it will be okay."

{I guess he has a point, but what if my sister attacks him? Will he kill her? No, I can't let this be.} As Luna thought this, she dismissed the guards and pulled Night away where they would not be heard.

"IF THEE KILL WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION WE SHALL IMPRISON THEE, BUT I SUPPOSE THOU IS RIGHT IF YOU ARE ATTACKED YOU CAN DEFEND THYSELF, PROVIDED YOU DO NOT KILL. ARE WE CLEAR?" Night was silent for a few moments, before he spoke in a broken accent.

"Yes, we are," He tried to add as much distaste as he could muster agreeing to the statement. Afterwards, the two headed back to the camp and fixed the tent, that Luna had brought down, before Night could focus on the new spell. This time, focusing his power through his hands and without Luna's help.
